Daytime parking restrictions in front of property, but not a problem if you are out all day.

Reviewed Sep 6, 2026It was conveniently located in the town centre and close to the function I was attending. The host was welcoming, friendly and informative. My room was a small single but adequately furnished and just what I needed. Another plus was the bed was really comfy.
There was quite a strong smell of a bleach type product when I first opened the room up, but either I got used to it or it faded.

Reviewed Aug 26, 2026The property is right in the heart of Wellington, so an ideal location. As well as this, it’s extremely easy to access. You can enter with support of the hosts, or by yourself if you prefer it that way. The hosts are there to contact if you need anything. The room was extremely tidy & clean, with many amenities, including a TV, Kettle, Linens, and more. The private bathroom is another positive, with a great shower and plenty of space. You also have access to a dining room if you want to eat there, with cutlery provided. I didn’t use this myself, but it’s another useful amenity. It was the perfect place for my one night stop-over, and I’d definitely stay here again!

Reviewed Aug 22, 2026Warm and welcoming hosts. Great location, stones throw from town. Bus stop outside which takes you in to Taunton. Room and bathroom were perfect. Clean, spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was delicious, get the scrambled eggs! 100% will be my stay of choice whenever I am in Somerset. Cannot recommend highly enough.

The breakfast was very good and the owner was friendly and welcoming. Overall a very reasonable stay and positive experience.
The bathroom was next door and although it was just for me it was a pain coming between two doors for the bathroom. You need pjs or a robe neither of which I had 😆

The staff were very friendly and helpful. I've stayed in 2 other places in Wellington and the Blue Mantle is my favourite.

Reviewed Jul 13, 2026I came to Wellington for a friend's event. I chose the Blue Mantle Guesthouse. A double room with ensuite bathroom with a shower. The room itself was very clean as well as the bathroom. Tea and coffee available to use with a kettle and a TV that was perfectly working. I left the big quilt/ duvet aside as it was very hot. I used only the duvet sheet. I stayed only one night. The next day, I had a full nutritious breakfast that satisfied me for the day. I fully recommend to anyone the BM Guesthouse ( Blue Mantle)
I was not too sure to sure about the step to go up the bathroom as I was physically struggling by using my left leg with a sciatica but I managed it.

They laid it out so efficiently and thoughtful that I could imagine spending many nights there, though as I was passing through, I spent only one. The breakfast was great! The owner was extremely nice and responsive. I was able to park right out front. Very clean and bed was VERY comfy! Quiet spot and I didn’t hear a thing all night even with the generous window open.

Reviewed Jun 7, 2026As a solo Traveler going for a single room with an external bathroom exclusive for your use was really nice. Well equipped. Having chronic back pain and slipped disk a comfortable bed is a must, and the bed was nice. No pain after sleeping As I was out late most days it was nice to have a code for the door ! Parking is a little further down the road, just make sure you have coin cash to pay at the parking meters ! £3.2 for a whole day!

Lovely welcome, simple access info and WiFI easy to allow for meetings. Nice and quiet, sink in room a nice old fashioned touch. Very good value and safe for solo female travellers. A pint in the Vintage up the road is a good plan - friendly and nice ale. I didn't eat breakfast but the dining room looked homely and all would be made in the family kitchen - only had to leave early so can't comment.

He is very fussy and no complaints from him. Breakfast is 8 quid and you expect something simple for that but it was very very good

Reviewed Jan 23, 2026Location was great for our purposes. Though the B&B doesn't have dedicated car parking, this was easy and free - just had to make sure to move the car in the morning before the restrictions apply.
Our room was on the road-side, and we found the road noise at night quite loud, and could hear people talking/shouting as they walked up the road. Obviously not the fault of the B&B though.

It is welcoming (the building and staff), the room was so clean and had coat hangers, hair dryer, a blanket to snuggle in on the bed - just the extra touches to make it special. The welcome pack had lots of helpful and interesting information about the property and the area. Travelling alone, this really helped.

Reviewed Jan 19, 2026The communication and organisation was perfect from giving us the door code if we were going to be late arriving, to parking suggestions. The beds are extremely comfortable and you cannot fault the cleanliness. My son loved the alexa being able to turn the lights on/off! The breakfast was also delicious, particularly the coffee and the orange juice.
We were a bit hot (nothing the owners could do as they provide a fan), and road was a bit busy so noisy with window open (again, nothing the owners can do as grade 2 listed building).

Stayed in Room 5, looked out onto road but not too noisy. Room small, twin beds, slept well, no sitting space only the beds. To use toilet had to sit at 90 degrees to loo then shuffle round to straighten with knees almost against wall. High Ten inch step into/out of shower room difficult for anyone with mobility problems

A mirror in the bedroom that was at my height, I used the one in the hall opposite my bedroom.
