Nice guest, quiet
Not really clean, messy
The lady is very welcoming and nice to talk with! Breakfast was great and home made! Good position for visiting Connemara and then leaving for Moher.
Some butterflies and insects in the room.
It was the best part of Ireland!
- quiet area - nice hostess - very good breakfast
- very narrow double bed
Phyllis is an outstanding woman! People should book the B&B just to meet her. She’s so hospitable and accommodating and she has a wonderful property. Very charming experience
Phyllis our host was a delight. The breakfast and evening meal were great.
Automatic lights in corridor and bedroom were slightly irritating at night.
Very thoughtful host, excellent food -above and beyond. Super shower, excellent recommendations for local experiences
Phyllis is a treasure and her hospitality, genuine kindness, and delicious meals make Beech Lodge a must-stop hidden gem. The room was comfortable and clean, and Phyllis ensures you are happy with your accommodations.
That we couldn’t stay longer 😉
Beautifully quiet, lovely host, good breakfast
Two hosts very kind. The room is not big but big enough for a good night in calm. Break fast was amazing, Coffee and tea was also very good
Phyllis is an amazing host. We love staying with her at her place.
The property was very cosy and welcoming, very easy and central for our travels around Mayo. Phyllis and Martina, where exceptional, both very humble and warm, they treated us as family, our son got so fond of them the moment he met them. We truly recommend this B&B and we look forward to be back ❤️
Wonderful and warm! The accommodations and staff were top notch! We loved every minute of our stay, and were sad to have to say goodbye to Phyllis! She is the personification of hospitality, and every want or need was anticipated and prepared for in advance. Her smile and warm kindness were such an unexpected bonus in addition to the lovely quiet and clean room. The breakfast was superb, served in a traditional and elegant dining area. From the china to the music and the quaint country setting , it will be a long cherished memory.
Nothing. It was delightful
Phyllis is charming, very friendly and exceptionally generous. The layout works well and you really feel as if you’re staying with a friend. It’s peaceful, quiet and the breakfasts are great! She can also cook a very good dinner.
Nothing
Feel like home. Great hostess. Bfast served in a fabulous dining room. Freshly squeezed orange juice every morning. Very quiet place. Ample parking.
A bit out of town. Access road can be dark n narrow to navigate at nite.
We loved staying here! The minute we pulled up and were greeted at the door by Phyllis, we knew we had found a gem. Lovely rooms and shared space in her parlor. We sat and had wine and she brought us some snacks. She gave us a recommendation for local music at a spot called Campbells not far away and it was a highlight night of our trip!
We had a perfect stay at Beech Lodge, thanks to our wonderful host Philys and her staff. We have had very nice breakfast and delicious dinners in the comfortable diningroom.
Nothing!
Good hostess; very helpful.
Attentive host. Great breakfast. Would certainly return if in the area again.
Spend 2 nights at the guesthouse- very friendly hostess with a kind heart! Felt at home - had dinner the first evening- with complimentary glass of wine- Food was good and convenient not to go and look for a restaurant of a long day travelling. Ian supplied us with useful info regarding activities in the region - 2 days far too little to appreciate this beautiful part of Ireland
Nothing
Phyllis is very friendly and welcoming. She makes you feel like you are at home. Breakfast is very delicious.
Such a cute Lodge! By mistake, I booked a room with a shared bathroom. But, it worked out well. The lady of the house was so friendly. She prepared an amazing breakfast. There were breakfast options. I opted for scrambled eggs with smoke salmon. The smoke salmon was the best smoked salmon I ever had. The ones in the supermarkets are so salty. The lady said she gets the salmon from Galway. The lounge was amazing. So warm and welcoming. We opted for this location to be close to Galway but still outside Galway to proceed north easily the next day. We weren't disappointed at all. There was ample space for off-street parking. The room we stayed in was very cute with lovely linen.
Phyllis was a great hostess and when above and beyond to make our stay delightful
Nothing
Excellent
The room was clean and very comfortable. Phyllis made a tasty breakfast aswell as homemake bread and jam.
Phylis is an excellent hostess, a real mother-about-the-house for whom nothing is too much trouble for her guests. It was home from home. She even offered to do our laundry!
Within the price class, you couldn't expect more.
Thie stay here was outstanding. You could not ask for a better host. The rooms were clean and fresh. She prepared a super salmon meal. She made excellent recommendations for visiting Galway
Really friendly reception, good food, and quiet location.
A bit far from main city
Such a lovely host. We were very welcomed. Lovely breakfast included. Lots of helpful advice of where to visit.
Phyllis is an outstanding individual! My fiancé and I travelled to Ireland and found the Beech Lodge as a place to stay before beginning a tour. We got engaged while staying with Phyllis and she celebrated us like we were her own children! Her cooking is fabulous, her kindness is unmatched, and she welcomed us to Ireland with love! An amazing choice if you’re staying in the Galway area! We love you Phyllis!! ❤️
Nothing could’ve been better.
Our host Phyllis was a wonderful and amazing woman, who has resided in the area for many years and was able to answer all our questions. Our room was spacious and comfortable with old-world charm. Nice size modern bathroom and comfy beds Breakfast was really good with several options, hot brekky cooked by Phyllis was lovely. Beautiful table settings and fine china plates etc. made it a true dining experience. We would certainly stay again
Nothing - all was great!
We loved the quiet property, the smell of roses, and its easy driving distance to Galway. Phylis is a gem and a wonderful host, both friendly, adaptable and accommodating.

Host was delightful, top quality breakfast, a lovely place to stay with view of farmland with horses for amusement
Owner is extremely helpful and friendly. She prepared wonderful breakfasts with plenty of choices. We loved being out in the countryside but close to Galway.
Gentillesse Simplicité Authenticité breakfast
Phylis was a perfect hostess. Breakfast was delicious and filling. We also enjoyed having a home made lamb stew for dinner one night.after a long day of touring. Phylis lit a fire & had tea for us one afternoon when we came back tired and chilled. Rooms were cozy and well appointed. Having our own bathroom was also nice. Great place to stay if traveling with family or friends. Bonus listening to the sheep in the field next to the house.
The host was a lovely lady, we enjoyed our stay. All staff members were helpful and kind. The host made us breakfast from scratch every morning. Option of ordering a dinner.
Incredible stay. The owner was amazing. Quaint, cute, takes you back to simpler times. The breakfast was amazing.
Nothing, it was perfect.
Phyllis is a lovely host. A true B&B experience, a real warmth to our stay.
We loved the generosity of our stay - Phyllis and her staff were warm and friendly, and the breakfast was huge and delicious!
Very little that could be changed
The location was very convenient to Galway and area's North of Galway. The breakfast was very good. The owner of the property was wonderful and very helpful as to where the best places to go in the Galway area.
I didn't like the size of the room we were in. A little bit cramped. We used Google maps on my smart phone to get to the property but it took me to a farm field about a kilometer from the true location of Beech Lodge B&B. Luckily a neighbor to the farm field took us to the Beach Lodge.
Nice atmosphere and clean and tidy

Our host Phyllis was a professional in every way. The accommodations were comfortable and clean. Plus Phyllis is also a professional chef so there was an option for a delicious restaurant-quality dinner. Breakfast was generous, fresh, and served in a beautiful dining room setting. This was near the town where my husband's ancestors were from, and Phyllis went out of her way to contact friends and acquaintances who might know any of them. We got a couple of good leads from her! This was one of our favorite stays in Ireland.
Not the fault of the host, but just for us tourists, it would be helpful to know that the 6 digit code is actually for a specific address and would help us with the GPS. Travelling in Ireland is challenging in that the roads and directions are often unclear to an outsider.
Phyllis is a very welcoming host and made us feel at home. As a trained chef, she offers evening meals too, and as we were tired we took this up when we arrived. The beef and Guinness stew was an absolute treat, as was being offered second helpings!
Nothing, really.
The gentleness of phylis The situation to visit connemara The little breakfast
It should be good to have blackout curtains
Phyllis was an absolute legend as a hostess. She endeavoured to ensure our needs were met in terms of comfort and catering to our meal requirements. Offering fresh food, and fine dining. Friendly and caring.
Double bed was a little on the small side :(
best breakfast we had our entire trip
Phyllis is kind and gracious and the home is lovely and in a beautiful, peaceful setting. Wonderful B&B! Thank you Phyllis😊
Our host was fantastic. So friendly and accommodating. Our room was bigger than expected and very clean.
Excellent host. The property is not far from the city, but having a car is recommended. Ample free car parking space. Complimentary breakfast is excellent. Dinner is also served at a nominal cost which is again amazing
Nothing
Phyllis is the best host any tourist could wish for! This was our by far best stay of all among dozens hotels we have experienced ❤️ great location, amazing breakfast (homecooked bread and marmelade), comfortable rooms, and the list can go on.

Very friendly. Excellent evening meals provided.
Phyllis is a warm and friendly host, and we enjoyed her company and our stay. Our room was very comfortable, and the breakfast was substantial with a range of options to cover all dietary preferences. The accommodation is situated somewhat off the beaten track, not far from the shores of Lough Corrib, and the 'vibe' was quiet and relaxing. Beech Lodge is an 'old school' B&B with all its attendant charms.
Good location for exploring Galway. Clean & comfortable. Phylis the host is delightful, makes you feel welcome and lovely to have a chat with her. Best B&B we have been to. Warm & homely feeling is lovely also. Delicious cooked breakfast in the morning. Would definitely return if planning a trip to Galway.
All good!
- Host was really nice. - Dinner and Breakfast was just perfect - Comfy room an Bed - Quiet place to stay - Easy parking in front of building
Very friendly host and environment
Our host was wonderful. I felt like I was staying with family.
Host was terrific, went out of her way to help us settle in as my wife was ill on arrival, couldn't be better
all good no issues
Breakfast was delicious and Philis, the host, is so friendly that made us feel like home. Absolutely recommended! Beds comfy and clean, toilet big and clean. Food and coffee were amazing! Hair drying available and hot water to take a shower at any time.
The stay felt like a family visit! The house was warm, decorated for christmas, and Phyllis is the most lovely host! Breakfast and dinner there were great and authentic, 100% would recommend!
Clean and cosy property, the breakfast was huge and delicious. The host was so kind and warm.
Phillis was absolutely amazing so welcoming,we were greated with a lovely latte on arrival.
The accommodation was excellent and food was superb
Great beds, jovial host and a fantastic breakfast
na
Host made us feel very welcome. Host made us drinks and we were able to use the living room.
There wasn’t anything to dislike except one of the bathroom lights didn’t work properly, but she was getting it fixed.
V good breakfast .
Felt like we were family Phyllis is an excellent hostess and chef. Food was fantastic!
Our host Phylis, was so generous of her time and assistance to us. She welcomed us warmly into her home and went far and above our expectations. She is a great cook and breakfasts were great.
Nothing
The host Phyllis was pure Irish hospitality. Welcoming and informative. We spent part of the evening sitting with her in the living/dining room. The talk was wonderful. Breakfast was fantastic. The food kept coming. I would highly recommend Beech Lodge.
Nothing we really didn't like.
Phyllis, the owner and fabulous hostess and cook, took care of us as if we were family. She did the same for all of her guests. Our room was delightful!
We loved our warm welcome by Phyllis and her beautiful home. She couldn't do enough for us including a delicious home cooked breakfast. The house was out of town in a peaceful area. It was so lovely to meet and spend time with Phyllis.
Nothing
Phyllis is a great host, doing all she can make you feel welcome. Food is delicious, both breakfast and dinner.
Phyllis was lovely and couldn't do enough for us. Beautiful home, our room was lovely. We couldn't of asked for anything more
Very friendly host and only 15 min drive from Galway city. Quite location. Very spacious family room divided into 2 rooms.
Evening we were there was very warm, heavy duvet blankets. Maybe lighter duvets for summer period.
Phyllis is an EXCEPTIONAL host. She bends over backwards to accommodate guests. .Room was very spacious and clean. The lodge is set in a very quiet piecefull neighborhood. Breakfast choices are incredible. As I told her, staying at her lodge is like being home, she just makes you feel so wanted.
Only drawback we had was not having a car to get there. However, while we were there a new bus route was started enabling us to get to Galway.
More than perfect- kindness and so on- we will come again 😊
