Cool place, great for solo travelers, staff super cool, specially at the rooftop bar.

Bathrooms could get a bit messy, but this is only because of other guests.

Great location and activities

Bonitas instalaciones, bien equipado con piscina en el roof top con bar y cocina. La recepción con un gran lobby y el cowork. Esta cerca de las calles mas concurridas del centro historico.

La cocina podría mejorar, pedí unos fetuchinis y me llegaron a los 50 minutos. Venian cortados en pedacitos. El Rooftop tiene mucho potencial y oportunidad de mejora.

Reservé una habitación con AC y se me asignó una sin. Tuve que pedir que me movieran una vez ya había descargado todo. Deberían revisar esto porque pagué mas dinero por esa habitación y decían que mi reserva era sin ac. Luego si me movieron

Después de solicitarles infinidad de ocasiones la factura como justificante para el trabajo, no me la han proporcionado. La habitación presentaba un fuerte olor procedente de las cañerías.

Everything was amazing, we had stayed at Viajero hostels before, in Peru, so we knew this was going to be a good choice. Really the one in Oaxaca even exceeded our expectations. So cozy, beautiful and fun! We recommend Viajero to everyone <3

The only super tiny little thing was that the bar/restaurant wasn't open on Thursday, which meant that we also couldn't use the jacuzzi that day.

Un hostel estupendo y muy buen ambiente

Hostel confortable et idéalement situé. Le personnel est très sympathique et il y a de nombreuses activités proposées.

La rue est un peu bruyante. Certaines chambres aussi car situées directement sur les espaces communs

Lovely building, good facilities and a very comfy bed. The hostel is a good place to stay and the daily events are run well. The bar on the roof is a great extra. The WiFi was good too.

Overall, I had a very good experience here. This was probably one of the best hostels of my trip to Mexico, both because of the facilities and, above all, because of the people it attracts. I preferred it to the other Viajero hostels where I stayed, in Mexico City and Puerto Escondido. The facilities are very nice, the terrace area work really well, and I met some amazing people. The atmosphere among the guests was great, and I had plenty of opportunities to socialize. For this reason, despite what I write in the negative section, I absolutely recommend staying here.

First of all, please read the positive section: overall, I really enjoyed my stay and strongly recommend this hostel. I am sharing these points because I hope management can take them as feedback and improve the staff experience. Apart from Rezalito, who was very friendly, I found the staff generally unfriendly and excessively strict about small rules. In other Viajero hostels, staff played a big role in creating a sense of community; here I often felt the opposite, as if the focus was more on enforcing rules than welcoming guests. For example, I found a 500-peso rate on Booking and asked to pay the same amount directly in cash. This would have been convenient for me as I wanted to use my remaining pesos before leaving Mexico, while also benefiting the hostel by avoiding Booking’s commission. I wasn’t asking for a discount. I was simply told this was not possible and that I should personally contact the other Viajero hostels where I had stayed to ask for a discount. I was still wearing their wristband, so it was obvious I had actually stayed there. This felt unnecessarily rigid, and I ended up booking through Booking. Another example was the welcome drink. It was scheduled for 7:30 PM. On the first day I simply forgot to ask for it, despite spending the evening socializing and joining the activities. The following day we arrived around 8 PM and were told the welcome drink was no longer guaranteed. Two girls then gave their unused shots to me and a friend, but staff told us we could not drink them because the shots were assigned to them. Again, I found this unnecessarily strict for such a small thing. I also heard similar complaints from several other guests about staff being unfriendly and overly strict, including issues with room changes and late check-outs. This is a real shame because the facilities are excellent and the guests are fantastic. With a friendlier, more flexible and community-oriented staff, this could easily be one of the best hostels ever!

Alles super sauber und ordentlich. Nettes Restaurant auf der Dachterrasse und leider keine Küche. Sonst alles super.

Wlan war leider manchmal nicht so gut im Co-Working Bereich.

El hostal es muy lindo y cómodo, súper buena ubicación.

La habitación es un poco pequeña y apretada, pero funcional.

Que está muy bonito decorado y suele tener actividades para conectar.

Es nuestra segunda vez y aunque nos gustó todo a veces era un poco ruidoso por las noche.

La ubicación es excelente. Y la arquitectura es bonita.

El personal no resolvió mi solicitud de factura, la hice en repetidas ocasiones e incluso les mandé la prueba de captura que booking decía que el alojamiento era quien debía de emitirla. Y no les importó resolverlo, esto hubiera sido una decisión que de haberla sabido en un principio no hubiera elegido este sitio porque la factura era importante.

Es un hospedaje con una decoración cálida y bonita. La cama estuvo bien, todo limpio; el baño también. Estuve solo dos noches, así es que todo bien.

No me gusta que ponen música con volúmen alto en la recepción y se escucha en las habitaciones.

We stayed in the Superior Twin Room which seemed to be a black spot for the WiFi AND mobile service. We had to go to the lobby to connect to the internet which was an inconvenience. The fan in the room only had one setting (very high/loud)

Me gustó mucho el espacio de las instalaciones, el personal fue muy amable y en todo momento estuvo en disposición de ayudarme en lo que necesitara. La cama estaba bastante cómoda y me sentí segura, las actividades que realizan en la noche son bastante entretenidas y benefician la socialización entre los huéspedes.

La calle en la que se encuentra es poco transitada por la noche y está como a 3 cuadras o 4 del centro

La amabilidad de la recepción

Viví un auténtico infierno en este hotel. Me alojé en una habitación compartida con ocho camas y sin aire acondicionado. Solo había ventiladores, pero llegó un momento en que ya no movían aire fresco, sino aire caliente. Durante la noche sufrí varios mareos y malestares. Me despertaba constantemente y tenía que abrir la puerta de la habitación para poder respirar un poco mejor. No entiendo cómo el propietario o los responsables del hotel pueden permitir que la temperatura dentro de una habitación llegue a casi 40 grados. Es inhumano, totalmente inaceptable y peligroso para la salud. Cuando reservé este alojamiento, no sabía que la habitación no tenía aire acondicionado. Sinceramente, pensé que, con ese calor, estaría incluido de manera evidente. Además, el Wi-Fi no funcionaba en la habitación. Solo funcionaba en la recepción, así que tuve que utilizar mis propios datos móviles 4G durante toda la estancia.

La ubicación de la propiedad es buena a pocos minutitos de el zócalo

* Las habitaciones de 8 camas no tienen ventanas. Durante mi estancia, a principios de julio, el calor era insoportable; literalmente se sentía como un horno. * Las literas de arriba no tienen cortinas ni nada que permita cubrirse. Cuando alguien entra y enciende la luz, se ilumina toda la cama. Además, al sentarte, hay muy poca privacidad y es posible ver directamente a la persona de la cama de al lado. * La cama de la esquina está separada aproximadamente 30 cm de la pared y únicamente tiene una cortina como protección, lo que me pareció peligroso, ya que existe el riesgo de caerse durante la noche. * En la cocina solo había dos sartenes y estaban en pésimas condiciones. Parecían llevar ahí desde que abrió el hostal y definitivamente necesitan ser reemplazadas, si quieres hacer una taza de café no hay sartenes pequeños solo hoyas enormes

Buena localización, lugar seguro y no hay ruidos. Buenas La atención de Luis y Kaori fue increíble desde el primer momento. Luis siempre atento a ayudar.

Monze o Monse no sé cómo se escribe, es una chica mul mal educada, sin respeto. Su atención es horrible y tampoco se importa si tú tienes un problema en tu habitación. De vdd no debería trabajar con el público. Deberian hacer un mantenimiento en las ventiladoras. Me quede en el cuarto 209.

It had a pretty lobby and good location.

I don’t think non-hostelers should be at the roof bar. It’s locals and weirdos and they use the hot tub and then leave. I want to meet other travelers, not these locals. AC shuts off promptly at 8am. One bathroom for 8 beds - I had to pee at 7am and the door was locked for 20 min so I had to go down to the lobby in pajamas.

Extremely comfortable beds, exceptionally clean and great location for exploring Oaxaca! Organised activities were great too! Overall great value for money and would recommend to anyone visiting Oaxaca!

The location and people!

I booked a double bed but I got a room with twin beds. I asked the hotel staff but she said all rooms have twin beds. However I walked past a room with a double bed…

The bed was comfy and private! You cabin comes with curtains, your own light and a little fan (very useful) it feels like you have your little small room, I stay in a female dorm with AC which seems small but at the end I realized I had the space I needed to rest. During the night the room can be cold so bring layers. The staff is friendly and welcoming.

El viajero queda muy bien ubicado, fácil de llegar a los sitios importantes de la ciudad. El personal es totalmente agradable, entregado a su trabajo y consienten a los huéspedes. El ambiente que se respira es de verdad maravilloso, tranquilo, es un remanso de tranquilidad. Los huéspedes también amables y abiertos. El precio sensacional.

El primer día la habitación estaba más fresca que los otros dos, pero creo que los roomates la dejaron cerrada por más tiempo que el necesario. En casa cubículo luz y ventilador individual. Agradable y cómodo.

The property is amazing! So clean and facilities are really modern. Hot water in the showers!! And powerful water pressure! Location is great. And the kitchen is really useful. Staff would friendly. Beds have I social fans which is so useful in the non-air con dorms! Also rate the fact they would hooks up on the walls so each person to hand their towels etc — so simple but actually really helpful! 😚

The pool is quite small and not really in a sunny area. It didn’t look the cleanest, so didn’t actually swim in it, and the layout doesn’t really allow you to sunbath up there. Not really the hostels fault, but guests using the cooking pans to store their cooked foods, so a kettle would be useful — I only need a pan to boil water but there were hardly any 😅

Staff were unkind. . When coming back for my check-in afyer 2pm wanting to have a shower and organize my stuff, receptionist ask me to wait even though there was no one else in line. All she cared was to impress her boss how quicky she finished her inventory. Same with the bar guy. Came with the free drink invitation at 7pm - too early. Came back at 9pm - too late. I recommend hiring experienced kinder staff or training the ones you have. Dorms was tiny with beds too close to each other. No breakfast included All in all it wasn't that bad, but not even close to other viajero hostals I had stayed in. DISAPPOINTING

Its a great hostel to socialise and they organise activities every night at the terrace so you have a great opportunity to mix and mingle. Luis at the front desk was amazing! Always greated with a smile and super helpful with everything. The non ac room have fans in each bunk so that made it very good.

The bathroom shower clogged up everyday. The hostel organises tours everyday to different sites however having gone on the Heirve Al Agua, I found it much more expensive than what was sold in the city. It was a great opportunity to meet people from the hostel and the host Reza was great but there are cheaper options available.

The stuff was friendly, the location was great.

In the kitchen is super small and have limited items for cooking. It’s very uncomfortable to go up the stairs with your food (dining area only in the terrace. If it’s raining there’re no proper places to eat). The fans in the room are so noisy I couldn’t sleep for four nights (even with earplugs). Toilet paper was missing for two days in our bathroom even though I asked twice.

La ubicación super céntrica, encuentras muchas cosas a pocos metro al igual es una zona tranquila. El personal super atento muy amable y siempre dispuestos para ayudar y solucionar, la comida, las bebidas 10/10. Es mi segunda vez quedándome ahí y superó las expectativas de la primera.

We liked the cost friendly fees, the location was great and the facilities were nice and clean. They had a pool which was very cute and the staff was very friendly and helpful.

There is no air conditioning and that was very uncomfortable due to the heat. We could not sleep due to the heat and that lack of air conditioning. The rooms have a fan but it does not help much.

El personal super atento, presente siempre animando. Organizan excursiones del hostel que realmente valen la pena, tours privados, mismo precio que los convencionales pero mejor por comodidad y buen grupo. A las mismas va personal del hostel pendiente todo el tiempo del bienestar. Si necesitas un lugar para socializar es ideal. La terraza es divina y todas las noches organizan actividades. El hostel limpio lindo cómodo. La habitación era super grande y cama muy cómoda, estuve 5 dias y valió cada uno de ellos. Si quieres privacidad (estuve en habitación privada) las habs privadas estan al fondo y la tienes y no se escuchan ruidos.

El hostal es muy bonito, la habitación privada que nos tocó era amplia y cómoda. Lo que más resalta son las actividades que hay cada noche, en especial el beerpong!!! Tienen un buen sistema de recién llegados, en el cual te presentan otros huéspedes y puedes conocer gente increíble. Gracias a Rezalito por ser un gran host y a los bartenders por ser tan buena onda.

Algunas excursiones pueden mejorar...De resto, todo genial

O hostel é bem legal e cumpre bem a proposta, com um ambiente jovem e cool. Ficamos em um quarto privado, que era confortável e nos atendeu bem. A área comum também é boa, especialmente o bar (com ótimas comidas/bebidas e bom preço). Localização excelente, bem no centro de Oaxaca

Os quartos não têm ar condicionado, o que faz bastante falta. Embora haja ventilador de teto que ajude na ventilação, é bastante barulhento e atrapalhou a nossa noite. Outro ponto é que toca música alta no hostel o dia inteiro (tipo de 9h-22h), e isso incomoda quando se está tentando descansar. Também sentimos falta de um frigobar dentro do quarto

Mi funda de almohada estaba sucia, un baño para 8 personas y es un horno dormir en esas habitaciones.

Todo. Absolutamente todo. Los cuartos super limpios. Las camas muy comodas. Y privadas a pesar de ser un dormitorio compartido. Tienen un orden increíble. El baño bastante amplio y limpio. El coworking es bastante comodo y las areas comunes muy bonitas y comodas. El personal. Los ame. Que gente mas amable, linda y super servicial, mis favoritos fueron Luis en recepcion un amor de ser humano super super agradable y profesional. Ayuda al toque. Increíble. Gracias Luis!!! Y Rezalito, el es el Host. Un chico increíble con una vibra demasiado linda y positiva. En la terraza hay un bar y hacen actividades todos los dias y el la verdad que las ameniza de una manera bastante divertida, logra hacer que todos nos sintiéramos bien, cómodos y hace mas facil el que las personas socialicen. Gracias Rezalito!! Pero en general todos son demasiado atentos y agradables. Para mi como mujer viajando sola es muy importante sentirme cómoda y segura y aquí me sentí así el 100% del tiempo. La ubicación. 20/10. Todo queda cerca o a una distancia caminable. La calle es bastante segura y bonita. Muchas cafeterias y restaurantes alrededor. Los mercados y plazas principales a mucho 15minutos caminando y los caminos son lindisimos asi que todo super bien. Gracias por todo!!!

Well maintained, clean and comfortable bed. The staff were all helpful and gracious, always willing to answer any question you may have. We were able to walk out the door and explore El Centro on foot with ease. The Hostel offered plenty of opportunities for socializing and tours at better prices than those on other recommended apps. We enjoyed the local street food most of the time, but did have a meal at the rooftop bar, which offered excellent Vegetarian options and it was delicious.
