Nam Hai Hotel

It was average and dated.

Cockroach in the bathroom

Location, not much near and needed taxis to get to old town

Lorsque nous sommes arrivés, ils avaient carrément zappé notre réservation chambre twin et ne restait que des chambres avec 1 grand lit double alors ils nous ont donné 2 chambres. Sinon c'était propre et confortable*** 👍

The staff was helpful but only one could speak English. The room was very nice and clean, the bed large and comfortable. The location was a little bit out of the way, none of the tours would pick us up because we’re on the wrong side of the river. Otherwise, everything was great.

Hard to find staff more thoughtful than in this hotel . Not in Old Quarter but 5 minutes away over the bridge. Highly recommended.

l endroit

There was a free laundry service.

I arrived late at night, and they gave me the wrong (cheaper) room without telling me- I did not notice until the morning. When i asked them what happened they said the room I had booked was not available last night, but would be in a few hours. The shower was really disgusting, the walls are very thin and theres a lot of noise.. I asked for a discount for the first night, at first they refused, but eventually they got someone else who approved it.

Nice hotel in a bad location. Room are very big. They left us nice fruits and pastries for breakfast every day. Did our laundry for free and help with luggage.

Only problem is that it’s far form city centre. But the price is very good.

It was really nice. The pics reflect the rooms and they were pretty confortable, with a lot of space and they gave me fruits for the first 3 days! They were really attentive to all my questions and additional requests while I was there. The day I left, my grab was stuck in traffic and they help me get to my destination. I would've lost my tour in it wasn't for them. Thank you so very much :)

It's not as close to the Old Quarter, but you are fine taking a grab :)

Every night they brought us breakfast for the next day: some sweet pastries and fruit. That was adorable! We felt very well taken care of. They booked us the taxi from the airport and were very helpful in providing the instructions. The room was clean and well kept. For the price, you really cannot be asking for more!

The only thing is that there was a constant smoking smell that came into the room, as I believe smoking was allowed on the corridor.

“The hotel was fantastic, the staff were all very friendly, the room was very clean, the furniture was beautiful, and breakfast was delivered every day for free. We are very satisfied with this hotel.”

I like that they provide a free laundry for customers. I sent in the morning, later on the evening they settled the laundry for us. They also provide welcome snacks such as banana, breads and mineral water which we appreciate so much.

Receptionist Hardly to speak English, must use translator to communicate. They did not accept payment by card.

I can’t express enough our pleasure in staying at the Nam Hai Hotel. We stayed initially for 1 night and then left for 4 days to do the Ha Giang Loop. We made a reservation for our return and they were kind enough to store our large luggage while we were gone. Unfortunately our Ha Giang tour was short lived as a fellow rider crashed in front of me causing me injury on the first day which ended our tour. We messaged the hotel after the ER visit and were able to return late the evening after we checked out and check back in at 2 am. They were amazing. 24 hour front desk, out of the noise of the city but a very quick and inexpensive ride to the popular areas. Fresh fruit and snacks in our room daily. They even made us a Vietnamese meal while I was recovering the day after the accident and provided me ice daily from their family freezer. (I had a broken collarbone). They offered free laundry service, had AC and a fan in our room and the largest bathroom we had in 3 weeks of traveling Thailand and Vietnam on a budget. They have a beautiful shaded and quiet courtyard. Being able to have a quiet, cool, relaxing stay just minutes from the heart of the city- no matter what direction you wanted to go was fantastic. 10/10 recommend!

Good value, clean place to stay still within reach of the old part of Hanoi. 1/3 the price of staying in the city itself, and only a USD3 Grab ride away. Even provides free laundry service!

Little English spoken, though that wasn't a problem.

This hotel is amazing. Got a more Vietnamese experience here, which was very nice. The staff is super friendly, the room was super clean and the hotel provides a free laundry service.

The bed and they have free snacks

The staff was not really helpful because they don’t speak english. There were things that I asked that they did not understand even with translator, later I realized I was getting the wrong answers. Under the bed was really dirty, so not sure how often or how good is the cleaning. For the same cost you could get a private room closer to the old quarter. Taxi service they offered to airport was very expensive compared with Apps, so make your self a favor and download them they are easy to use.

Exceptional value for money, friendly staff, complimentary services, like laundry, snacks.

The hotel was very convenient, its on the other side of the river, 10-15 min drive with taxi. The location is out of the city center but everything else was great! Amazing actually. They did our laundry for free! They had fruits everyday, we did a very late checkout and they arranged a car to take us to the airport for a very low fee. The staff were very nice. The room was big and very comfortable vs the city center rooms which are tiny, would highly recommend for families looking for a quiet place close to the center (not walking distance). Thank u!

Beautiful clean rooms with amazing shower and complimentary fruit everyday!

Location is over the bridge so have to get grab to old town, not very walkable

Staff were extremely patient and helpful. Facilities were clean and they provided us with water and fruit every day. Location was not in Old quarters but was just a 15 min drive to the old quarter. They also helped organise tours and transportation.

The bathroom was clean but after the first few showers the water didn't drain as fast so that was a small issue. However we didn't communicate this to the staff as we were out doing tours mostly and leaving soon. So we didn't really give them the opportunity to rectify the problem.

Room was fab, very big and comfortable bed. Bathroom was very big and clean, television in the room with Netflix etc. All in all good value.

Despite being very close to the old quarter it is hard to get a lift back across the bridge later in the evening. Had no issues during the day just at night drivers were reluctant to leave the centre of town. Not the hotels fault but something to bear in mind when booking.

View, fruits, laundry, general service, room and bed, TV

Great place but not cozy

Free laundry and mini bar

Nothing :)

Good quiet area. If you want to get to the old quarters you need to book an uber everytime though. You can’t cross the bridge by foot. There are also a lot of stores close by, but expect no one to understand english there. Hotel is clean and good. New supplies everyday, a fridge with drinks. There is also a beautiful temple right in front of the hotel, please visit

The rooms were extremely clean and had someone clean the room everyday, there was also complimentary fresh fruit every day, with free bottles of water and instant noodles. The members of staff and young men were very well mannered and polite and willing to help. The rooms were also extremely spacious with authentic interior.

The hotel is in a quieter area away from the main part of the city, it can get quite busy crossing over the bridge to reach the main city.

Staff is super helpful even at 02:00 in the morning helping us to check in after a long bus journey from dong van. Room is cleean, bed is comfortable. Wifi and shower works amazingly proper. Stayed here twice in Hanoi. 5 star

Very big room n very clean n nice

Very generous hotel. Free laundry. Free food. Very kind.

Really big rooms and very clean bathrooms and quite close to everything, we asked them to keep our luggage with them for 3 hours, they happily offered us to keep the room till 3.30pm

I recently had a delightful stay at this hotel, and the outstanding service provided by receptionists Kien and Bina truly enhanced my experience. Their warm welcomes and efficient assistance made me feel valued throughout my stay. The hotel's comfortable accommodations combined with their exceptional customer service create a memorable and enjoyable environment. I highly recommend this establishment, thanks to Kien and Bina, and the team’s exceptional hospitality.

The location was ideal. Staffs are very friendly and helpful. Our rooms were spacious with River view. Quiet and clean. We will definitely come back.

My room had a bathtub, but my friend’s didn’t.

The hotel is very close to Chuong Duong bridge. 7 minute drive to the city center. This is an oriental style hotel. Their furniture looks very good. We also booked a day tour to Ninh Binh with the hotel and they offered us a free shuttle to the meeting point. Staff is friendly. The property has a big yard and a garden. They take care of your motorcycles and cars free of charge.
