Location of the hotel was good for our stay and the 2 room cottage style facility suited our needs.
The location of the rooms off a car park in an industrial estate was a bit odd and hard to find from initial reception area. Kitchenette facilities were limited and the rooms could have been cleaner.
The bed in room 132. Wasn’t comfortable at all! Two single beds pushed together, without any level of mattress protection or cushioning. Room 134 were unable to cool room down due to radiator being set to high.
Staff were lovely cannot complain
Our room has stained curtains and marks on the wall and just felt it wasn’t the best value for money
The staff was very friendly and nice and just the whole experience was good
Nothing so far I actually liked everything and I would go back again
Room was beautiful spa was really nice and relaxing
The big shower didn’t work
Facilities including spa Breakfast was ok Quiet location
Not enforcing disabled parking for people with blue badges such as allowing work men and hotel staff to park there. Rooms not clean - bugs on walls, bins not emptied. Was given a replacement room which hadn’t been cleaned yet. Some keycards didn’t work either.
I only received two key cards at reception which was silly when I left my partner in the room to go outside for a smoke with no lights
The location and pricing of the spar it was two prices one for the spa then very expensive for the hydra pool
Clean room and low priced.
Expensive drinks in the bar.
Nice people and good food
The staff are so lovely, they went out their way to please us and provide anything we needed, also received 2 free drinks for my birthday. We loved our stay and will definitely be coming back. 10/10 ! Beautiful hotel, restaurant & facilities.
Great facilities- pool, sauna and steam room. Spa available but hours limited. Rooms are comfortable, especially the beds and pillows. From the outside, hotel looks dated but inside is well decorated and looks amazing. Large car park too.
Breakfast- scrambled eggs with the too much milk. Mushrooms with zero taste. Sausage was terrible.
Everything from start to finish every single member of staff was so polite and respectful amazing place if u haven’t already been here make sure u book 10/10 all day
Nothing, its to dark inside
Our room was dirty and full of cobwebs all around the curtains, windows need cleaning outside, the ceiling in our room was old tiles and had gaps. I was woken during the night with a huge spider crawling on my back, which meant it was in the bed, it crawled down the back of the bed, so pulled the bed out and the dirt was thick and popcorn was stuck to the bed legs, also found pins on the carpet at the side of the bed too, i just missed standing on them. The chesterfield sofas in the bar that we sat on was like sitting on a wooden box, very uncomfortable. We decided to leave a day early.
We booked to use the spa as it says free leisure stay and with it being last minute we didn’t take any money with us
Everything. We had a fab weekend from the staff to the cottage the food the location the spa was everything we wanted.
Clean and tidy inside
Outside looked dated and lift didn’t seem Very safe
The hotel was very clean and the staff were very helpful, friendly and polite. Booked in for breakfast which was very nice and plenty of choice.
We were in room 136 which is located a very long way from the main reception. One floor up in the lift then a very long walk along corridors, through fire doors, down stairs, up stairs. Through fire doors again then along another corridor. Thankfully we were only booked in for 1 night. We returned back to the hotel late evening to find that a door leading outside on one of the corridors was wide open so we closed it. The following morning the same door was open again. Just felt that was a huge security risk.
The rooms, entrance hall, showers & pool facilities were great. The price was good.
The mattresses weren't comfy & need updating. The breakfast was ok but it felt like they were saving money by cutting corners on quality... I'd rather pay a small amount more for better quality. The staff were nice but in a bit of a useless way, awkward & almost too eager to please. E.g. asking 'hello, how was your stay?' as you walk in bleary-eyed for breakfast.... that's a question for check-out. & seeming to be just stood around looking awkward. We left feeling that this place has so much potential but just needs to raise the standards on some basics - solidly good breakfast, decent mattresses & confident, well trained staff.
Spa
Nothing
Everything
The most dirty place I have ever stayed , no gym pool cold , blood on bed human spit on walls , ladies toilet by the bar no toilet tissues just box tissue on floor to use , staff rude , food appuling could go on more ,
Nothing
We went with kids and they were very welcome. The two bedroom cottage was great and spacious. Good breakfast and very friendly staff.
The grounds could do with some tidying but didn’t affect our stay
Gorgeous hotel, food is absolutely stunning.
That i couldnt stay longer.
Friendly staff
No towels, and took 20+ mins to get some after phoning front desk.
I spoketo the manger about my room it was dirty damp i had no sleep due to the noise music till 2 oclock in the mourning The breakfast was poor The manger said they would email me Not recived an email yet ive ask for a refund on my room Ive got photo of the room cobwebs damp poor and no sleep I will take thise further
Every thing dirty poor breakfast poor sevice
really helpful staff .stayed here many times now with my car trailer in tow .Good parking .And good value for money .
nothing really
Atmosphere
Roos are little basic for 4* hotel
The staff in the restaurant were lovely and the food in the evening was reasonably priced and decent.
The spa facilities were not the best the sauna was broken, there was no bookings available for massages and you pay £10 for the pool and steam room that’s it but you have to pay an extra £20 to use the hydro pool area. The picture was our view from our window.
The staff are extremely helpful and hapoy
Nothing at all
Close to m6
The interior decor was nice the exterior however not so, looked dated and dangerous in places felt odd having such a rough exterior and an interior that had just been “patched up”. Receptionist was lovely.
Staff are lovely smiling and helpful we will come next time and get a deal where we can use the spa and have our meals included as the food was great but didnt use the spa as it wasn't included in our 2 night stay we Come up regularly as my 85 year old dad lives in skelmersdale we come all the way from Cornwall so spa would be relaxing such a great choice of food the breakfast is great amd fresh

Loved the thermal spa and the restaurant/breakfast food. Really lovely.
The lady in the spa who cleared away our drinks, robes and towels when we left our loungers to visit the sauna. She did the same again within 20 minutes? Very strange.
Parking
No fridge or air con in rooms. Breakfast was poor. Service not great
Good parking as I arrived in a motorhome. Lovely foyer. I asked if my dinner reservation had been made and we were asked to go.to the restaurant to check. Would have preferred if staff had called for us. Or it was already confirmed. Spa facilities were better than expected. Bar area was a little unkempt. Pillows should have been refunded when table cleared and crumbs wiped off of sofa. I watched 3 staff walk past a rolled up hanky on the floor. Dinner however was fantastic. My dinner tastes very good.I sent my appreciation to chef. My daughter asked for the pasta which came with spice. She cannot take it and was not mentioned on the menu. However the kitchen cooked her a fresh one without spice so she could enjoy her meal. Amazing x
As above
The staff were great
Our rooms were not cleaned nor was there fresh water everyday we had to ask for water and tea bags / coffeee.
Location and staff were so helpful
No air conditioning in the rooms and building is a little run down
This hotel was fantastic. Staff could not have done more for us, from the front desk, to the leisure centre, to the bar and restaurant. We were very very well looked after. There was a good variety of food options for all different preferences/dietary requirements. Room was lovely and comfortable. Shower was brilliant. Pool was fantastic. Room was spotless, no complaints.
I didn't like that we had to leave!
Excellent service
Clean and helpful staff
Nice area and easy to find you way around and good facilities
The property was beautiful and clean
All ok
The Nature part of the hotel
90% of the staff including the managers are very rude. Lift are not working for 2 days. No telephone in the rooms, Room keys were opening each other. No help from staff. The rooms were not what they advertised online.
Nothing
The stay was appalling. The accommodation was cold, cheaply fitted out, poorly appointed and very tatty. The skylight was painted in black out paint to prevent any light transmission. The render was falling off the building, our access was through an industrial park with rubbish and other items everywhere. the food in the restaurant was basically in-edible and very expensive for what it was. I expected better from a restaurant called 'signature grill' than cheap frozen burgers being, badly cooked and tasteless.
I liked the decor inside the hotel it was modern.
I didn't like the fact that there was a huge wedding of around 300 people; it was too busy, loud, and overwhelming. I didn't like that we saw a huge rat on the kitchen roof outside our room, and also the wedding guests in the room next door to us partied in the room until the early hours. Also, in the room on the other side of us, the guest snored so loud all night long that even with headphones in, we could still hear them.
We loved the spa and facilities which we came for
When we walking in to check in there was a huge amount of people at a wedding all in the reception area made us feel a bit uncomfortable then it was fine later as they went into there suite but then in the middle of the night from around 12-4 am they had 15 of them in a room and we was kept up all night we did want a spa and relax but not had any sleep at all Also found a dead rat on the balcony thing
Felt like a tired old Butlins
Great Bar and restaurant at the hotel with very attentive staff. The room size and bathroom facilities were excellent
Mattress could have been more comfortable
Restaurant was good. Friendly staff, good food.
Place is a shambles. Not enough staff, not enough trained staff. Site is scruffy. Tv didn't work in my room. I asked twice for it to be fixed to watch world cup final. Nobody came. Spa is run down and badly managed. Staff friendly but incompetent on reception. Just a generally shabby service from the whole hotel. Somebody with a vision and authority nedds to get a grip of the place.
Staff were excellent
Room a little tired
The location worked for us
Not 4 star. Unlikely a 3 star. The rooms (we had 2 adjoining) poor quality. You could feel the bed springs. The rooms were not cleaned, or linen or towels, we were there 6 nights. We had to keep asking, we did get a couole if towdks! And even one day we left at 6.30am, came back and our room was left open with the latch left open, so anyone could have walked in. We complained but nothing said or done. Really surprised how poor this is if this is a Radisson!
Location good for travelling to The Open in Southport. Good value considering location.
We had a very poor experience with the room cleaner taking my wife's personal bathrobe and it not being returned. Very disappointing and no offer of compensation or solutions, just a very blank 'we can't find it' from reception.
The treatments amazing and decent prices also the food amazing and good halal choices! Excellent and relaxing also we thought we paid for breakfast but we were mistaken but they charged us for 1 person out of 3 which was very generous and kind I appreciate that alot as we are honest guests and we told the staff we got things mixed up on our end and they still provided us with having to pay for 1 breakfast :) happy with the staff here amazing and lovely
The cobwebs on the door at the cottage otherwise very clean and friendly and sweet and beautiful and great mini kitchen and great room and bathroom but I do think the shower for cold option could be a bit colder for a choice as I didn't feel it much and I had it diled right down after the sauna and steam room experience I wanted a nice cooler shower but of course not extremely freezing in our own bathroom inside the room but I do wish that they make it a bit more colder for next time as it is summer and I tend to get hotter a bit more so needing a nice cold shower is important otherwise it was really nice but the hot option you get is really hot so I wanted cold to be as the same intensity I cam last year and there's more facilities now which is really good and relaxing
The reception area and bar was reasonable - clearly the best part of the property.
Some staff tried but this property suffers from complete and total mismanagement. All staff members seemed confused, unaware, overwhelmed and routinely shared conflicting information to us and our friends. Frankly, they had no idea what was going on appearing to give an answer albeit - not accurate. The images of the property (especially the bar/reception area) made it look appealing but again, it all stops there. Staff were clearly not prepared for their positions which is managements fault - note - never saw a single staff member who appeared to be a manager and/or in charge. Staff members were not cross-trained so ordering a drink at the bar during the England/Argentina game was 15 minute ordeal (not exaggerating) with about 36 people in attendance. Simple food took over 45 minutes to be delivered and multiple orders came out with staff having no idea which table they went too. We were told different things when visiting the pool with pool staff stating, "Reception should know what they are supposed to do but they don't - it is so frustrating". Thus - these issues are not uncommon and since no one seems to be in charge - it seems unlikely to improve anytime soon.
In quiet location Big rooms and bathrooms
Looks messy and confused Like a hotel mixed with. Holiday camp mixed with an industrial estate vibe Staff don’t speak English good enough to serve customers
Bar area and reception
Rooms and corridors a bit tired
Friendly and helpful staff,
Lift was dodgy, I felt it could break down as door kept opening therefore used the stairs Bedroom very shabby, poor decor with patchy paintwork, stained carpet. Bedding and bathroom clean. Coffee and tea making facilities in the room The buildings around and attached to the hotel were in a very poor state of repair as were the many out of bounds floors which made us nervous for our stay. We were unable to access the spa from inside the hotel due to this and therefore had to go outside past the derelict buildings. The spa was clean but only 1 therapist so our long standing appointment times and massages were changed. We decided to only stay one night
Nothing, it's a total dump! The photos on the website aren't real rooms.
Dirty, broken TV, broken beds, no proper furniture. You can tell it's a hotel that has been acquired post liquidation. Service is 1/10 and Radisson should be embarrassed attaching their name to this place.
Not a lot
3 times in 14 hours i had to ask for a iron and ironing board. charging £25 to have a jacuzzi however no price on their site
The location for our needs was great
No air con in bedroom or fans provided. However with the bedroom curtains shut all day for our second day it was a lot cooler to sleep in. The restaurant …with only two members of staff working in the restaurant both nights the service was poor (not their fault). We were 15 mins early for our table booking and shown to our table once it had been cleared and cleaned. However waited 30mins to order food and drinks. It then took over an hour for our food to arrive. We only ordered sharer dishes (flat bread and nachos and then starters of pakora) all to arrive together. The nachos arrived after we’d finished the other two dishes and were very poor for a hotel - I can make better myself. The salsa, guacamole and sour cream arrived in separate dishes and the main dish was just nacho and cheese which wasn’t fully melted. The staff were racing backward and forwards to the bar area where guests were ordering food which clearly the kitchen couldn’t cope with either as guests there were eating 45 mins for their food. We did ask the staff why they were still taking tables and was told that they serve food til 9pm so have to take people to eat..why when clearly the kitchen can’t cope with the demand!!!
Extremely friendly staff very pretty comfortable hotel great value beautiful food in the restaurant
The location is lovely, felt like we were on a Disney movie set. The scenery is fabulous.
It was just a let down, my room was not properly cleaned, spiderwebs, insects, incredibly dusty. Floors were not properly sanded so it was splinter central without any slippers so if you do stay here, please remember those. Also the staff gave off a feeling as though they just didn’t want to be there. I was just very disappointed considering all the lovely reviews I read.
The scenery, leisure access and breakfast
We asked for a fan as our room was soo hot and they said they would bring us one up. Waited over 2 hours and they didn’t but then seen someone else walking past our room with a fan and they the got given it so that wasn’t great.
It wasn't a double bed to single beds pushed together really uncomfortable, no air con or fan available
The fact the pageant I was attending was in the hotel.
The staff are rude and do not know what offers the Radisson has on. We booked breakfast directly with the radisson however when we got to the hotel they would not honour the price of £25 per person for our 3 night stay…they wanted it charge us £25 per day. The staff are rude and unaccommodating. We put the DND sign on the door, they came in anyway…not just once but a few times.
I was in the main hotel, not the cottage. Some decor was ok and reasonably modern. Comfy bed. Clean Nice bathroom Good tv in bedroom Hotel is fine for sporting events etc for a clean, comfy bed, but not for a treat / luxury
No phone in bedroom. No fridge in bedroom. No peephole in door. No menu / book for room service etc in room. Felt like they provided only the bare minimum (if even) Room felt quite empty and very basic Served drinks in plastic cups Wine glasses had measurements on the side (tacky)
The location for why we were there was perfect. Nice big beds and plenty of room in the 2 bed cottage
Staff are rude and hard work. Not all but most. Receptionists are your 1st impressions on place so think they need to train them in how to be friendly and welcoming The hotel has re decorated but they need to get cleaners who can clean. It's full of cobweds spiders dust and generally not been cleaned to a good standard. Think they literally go in change beds sweep floor and that's it. Shame as it could be amazing
Food that was about it
The staff
Lovely reception and bar area very relaxing atmosphere 2 young members of bar staff named Ruby and Charlotte where very kind and welcoming ... not to mention hard working Restaurant staff where very welcoming and food was great
Where do I start ... Attitude of manager he was so rude and very unhelpful , cottage area behind hotel was very dirty and run down , our room was filthy when we arrived , and not well equipped at all 3 of stayed ... we had 2 forks , 1 bowl , one dinner plate , and 1 dirty glass that was left in draw . No microwave , tv didn't work counted 7 spiders in the kitchen alone ... writing on tiles in bath room , we where staying 4 nights and not once was our room cleaned , when asked if someone could come and clean ect was told it's extra charge !!!! Path to front door was full of mud and cigarettes stumps !!! Had to ask a cleaner for a new bin liner , fresh towels and toilet rolls !!!!! Our cottage right in the trees so when coming back at night outside lights didnt work we had a hob but no pots , jug ect The list goes on ..
Lovely reception, bar area and the facilities eg pool, gym and restaurant which were included. Would stay here again.
The drive up to the hotel was tired and lacking in maintenance and didn't create a good first impression but once inside we were pleasantly surprised. Breakfast was below par 6/10.
Nice location very modern
Very modern and good facilities
Really run down, needs closed down. Got bed bugs from staying here
Everything.
Handy location for the event we were attending. Friendly staff. Really warm weather during our stay, didn't realise until we left the following morning a number of fans on the maids trolley. Make sure you ask for one if it's warm.
Big wedding on during our stay. When we returned late at night there was a large police presence and blood all over the floor. We woke in the morning and left straight away due to feeling uneasy about the atmosphere, so we did not get chance to explore the gym, pool or restaurant. Will return in the future when hopefully it's a bit quieter
Staff were really accommodating and friendly, they made our stay. Reception, lounge, restaurant all look immaculate. Nice to have access to pool and sauna. Breakfast was really good. Parking was easy.
Rooms and grounds around hotel have been left behind compared to reception, lounge and restaurant. Lift door was playing up. Half of pool is used for swimming lessons on Sunday morning which doesn't leave much space for hotel guests.
The reception area
The hole place
Clean, comfortable and good value for money
We had a door to access outside which didn’t open, however there was rubbish and smashed glass, it needed a tidy up and there would have been no complaints
Everything , the staff was be the most friendly and would honestly do anything to make your stay the much best We have stayed in hundreds of hotels and this is the best we’ve already booked to come back , was very clean breakfast was insanely good
Easy,to,find
Unhelpful reception staff, soft bed, noisy, tv in room didn't work, tired decor
Staff were friendly
Run down and dirty both inside the facilities and grounds.
Locations
Photos of the room u book are not the same when u get into the room also no tv in bedroom
Our last minute decision to break our journey and book here was a great decision. Excellent value, with a nice room and very enjoyable evening meal. We made use of the pool and sauna.
Flott hotell med hyggelig personale. God frokost med utvalg.
We were here for an event so great accommodation and holding for the event.
We were very disappointed in the room. We can’t comment on the spa facilities as we were here for an event but the room is disgusting. Very very different to the pictures online. We booked at double room and got separate beds and when asked about that to change they said we couldn’t. There’s mold on the window sills and in the bathroom in the shower. A very basic room with no fridge, only an iron. The room was also freezing. The walls in the hotel are paper thin and could hear literally everything.
The shower was probably the best bit in the room with a comfy bed.
The carpet
Very pleasant staff, restaurant was excellent, location was fantastic!
The lift was temperamental, the room was tired, marks on the walls, there was only conditioner in the shower, no shampoo or shower gel, no information pack in the room, and communal areas were in need of some attention.
Nice clean stylish
Spa smelly - sauna and steam room and hard to get too
The facilities and staff we're great
There was A lot of ants in the room by the front door
Spacious
Bathroom had an odd smell at times.
Reception was done up ok
Everything else
Great service
The restaurant and leisure facilities.
The customer service was not good.
. The hotel looked lovely when walking in but the cottages were something else.
Blood on bed sheets, maybe poo or something very similar on duvet. Hair on shower wall. Rubbish under bed. Got pics to show. Pool had no life guard , not an issue but the people using it, no jumping...... Jumping! Etc.
breakfast excellent, staff did everything possible to make our stay very enjoyable
nothing to dislike
The hotel was clean and the hotel staff were friendly
The spa were very disorganised. Spent £290 on multiple treatments and they were rearranged so our Sunday was spent waiting around. Our couples message was for a double treatment room I was not in it my partner was. They couldn't get our name right.
V good
Access to thermal suite expensive. Cobra beer flat. Rooms in need of decorating.
The reception and lounge area was very nice, quiet, comfortable, and pleasing to the eye. Our room had plenty of space.
Don't think we got the original room which we had booked, as the hotel had experienced a power cut on the day of our arrival and our room wasn't cleaned or ready. I had paid extra for a more luxurious room that should have had bathrobes and slippers, which we didn't get. Instead, we got a very dark, tatty room with chipped walls, paintwork, dirty ceiling, shower screen that hadn't been cleaned, and a view of the roof and air con system. The bed and pillows were like sleeping on rocks and not one drawer to put things in. Cannot complain about the staff when they were there but you always had to find someone. On our return from Son's wedding after midnight, our key card would not open the door and we had to find a member of staff to get a new one as apparently we had only been booked in for one night instead of two, even though we had paid for two. The steakhouse food was average, but we felt it was sub-standard for the price we paid and everything had to be paid for upfront and couldn't be added to your room tab. Room 102 was not what I had in mind for a luxurious room and this is not a hotel we would visit again.
It was close to where I wanted to be
I paid for a deluxe room . It was far from deluxe . The room smelt of mould and had no extras at all. It was shocking . Markus all over the walls . Old looking table , not even a coffee machine , crappy pillows . I won’t be staying again. No aircon it was 33 degrees in room. Had to beg for a fan . Won’t be staying here again awful room
Comfortable bed, good breakfast
Bedroom was very tired, needs redecorating, 3 large burns in carpet, side table and mirror with not cleaned, layer of dust around skirting board, Tiny bottles of shower gel, shampoo etc, no glasses or even plastic cups in the bedrooms
Entrance way/reception area was stunning. Also Liked that the property was so big, literally like a little village
Service was terrible! Was seated for food at 7:50pm, took over 30 minutes to take our orders and we didn’t leave until after 10pm due to poor service and not quick turn arounds with food. We had to keep checking in to see where our next course was, had to remind them that we asked for cutlery and sauces twice!
