J & J Homestay

The owner was very attentive and constantly checked up on me and provided water in the room in case I was thirsty. Also gave me many suggestions and help me book services (Laundry service, tricycle pickup drop-off). The rooms were clean and there was housekeeping every morning. Would recommend as it is good value for money.

La familia que gestiona el hotel estuvieron súper atentos y me ayudaron con un montón de cosas. Tuve un problema médico en mi estancia en Corón y se encargaron de tranquilizarme y estuvieron muy pendientes El hostel está bien equipado y es muy cómodo.

The place all in all is very comfortable. The staff are genuinely hospitable and kind.

It was at the top of quite a steep hill It was not very clean and the bathroom area had mould growing The shower was really poor and we didn’t find out until our last couple of nights that the temperature was inverted so we were having cold showers for most of the time. They were doing building works so loud banging was heard from early morning as the walls were very thin

En relación calidad-precio, se ajusta muy bien a todo lo necesario. Si bien se encuentra en un lugar donde hay que caminar bastante para llegar, a la vez es bastante tranquilo. El personal es muy agradable y te ayudan en todo.

Los dos ultimos dias nos despertaron desde las 7-8 am con ruidos se martillos y maquinas, pues estan arreglando justo al lado la zona de la cocina y el comedor. Entiendo que es algo puntual y que de normal no pasa, pero podían haber esperado a empezar un poco más tarde sabiendo que se alojan personas pegados a la cocina. Tambien hubiera estado bien que limpiaran el suelo durante la estancia y no solo al irnos, ya que son bastantes personas dentro y se ensucia todo rapido.

We were very happy with our stay at this place because the staff were incredibly accommodating. From the moment we arrived, they welcomed us warmly and kindly explained that the accommodation follows a joiners setup. Since there were nine of us but only eight beds available in one room, one of us would have to stay in a different room. Even so, they went above and beyond to offer us options and do their best to keep our group together. You can truly feel and see how much they care about their guests. They were also very helpful in planning our activities, giving us great recommendations on the best places to visit and the best nearby restaurants to try. Their local knowledge made our trip even more enjoyable. The accommodation itself was clean, well-organized, and comfortable. After a full day of activities, it was the perfect place to relax and unwind. Overall, this place is definitely worth booking. From our arrival until our last day, everything went smoothly, and we felt genuinely well taken care of. We highly recommend staying here!

The beds were very comfy and the rooms weren’t crowded, the air con worked well and we were able to check in super early for around €3 which was needed after a long journey.

The shower was hard to keep warm, it’s a little bit off hassle trying to get around being at the top of the hill but as long as your willing to trek abit it’s fine.

Possibilté de faire une landerie. Propose la location de chaussure d'eau, masque et tuba. Eau filtrée a disposition.

La clim a 18° la journée.. nuit assez froide.. Chambre relativement petite avec salle de bain et toilettes collées. Pas reelement d'espace pour se poser. Jamais eu d'eau chaude..

Just a few minute walk from the town center, calm and nice people.

Nothing! I only stayed one night at the hostel. Because this is not a hostel! It's worse than a guesthouse! And I've stayed in many guesthouses throughout my 52 years! This is in my top five worst hotel/guesthouse experiences! There are 8 beds in an extremely cramped space, the bed linen smelled awful and triggered my sinusitis. Besides being black, which hides the dirt! The toilet is inside the room, meaning I could hear other people's farts as well as my loud ones! The room door opens directly onto the street! The place is desolate and highly unsafe. When I went to return the key, a crazy guy almost attacked me in the street! How can I feel safe in a place like that? I threw my money away! 1850php. Then I rented the HOP Hostel. Then my life changed, clean beds smelling of fabric softener, large rooms, a fantastic experience! When I returned to the J&J trash can, they were already using my locker.

Me hospedei por 7 noites e gostei bastante no geral. Sem dizer que têm cachorros maravilhosos no local, que eu amo!!! Localização: 10 - está próximo da entrada do Mt Tapyas. Se você não se incomodar em andar um pouco, está relativamente perto de restaurantes, bares, e outros comércios. Limpeza áreas comum: 8. Impossível em um hostel manter limpo toda hora. Mas a equipe, que é reduzida, se esforça bastante para manter limpo o local. Wi-Fi: 8. Eles te dão um voucher que tem validade por alguns dias, 1a vez que vi esse sistema. O meu 1o voucher venceu na penúltima noite e a recepção já estava fechada. Conforto da cama: 8. O colchão é bom, mas os 2 travesseiros são duros e altos para o meu gosto. Nem todas as tomadas estavam funcionando bem. As cortinas também poderiam ser melhoradas, pois na 2a cama que fiquei, a cortina era mais curta que o vão, portanto entrava um pouco de luz. Limpeza do lençol e toalha: 10. Muito limpos e cheirosos. Funcionários: 10 - toda a equipe (Grace, Aloha, Lou Lou e Buboei) é muito educada e prestativa. Eles fazem a diferença pois têm um coração enorme e te atendem com um sorriso de orelha a orelha. Ruído externo: dá para ouvir um pouco o som das motos, galos e cachorros, mas nada que comprometa. Check-in/check-out: 10. Não pedem depósito algum. Estrutura/Comodidades: 8. Ar condicionado bom, chuveiro bom, água potável disponível na recepção. Eu senti falta de shampoo e sabão, mas pelo preço que cobram é aceitável, portanto se vc ler esse comentário não esqueça de levar ou comprar. O compartimento de guardar as malas é bom, coube minha mochila grande e outra média. Oferecem vários serviços como Tuk Tuk, aluguel de moto, passeios, e dão dicas locais. Custo x benefício: 10. Você recebe por aquilo que você paga. Super recomendo!!!

Excellent staff very friendly. The hostel is very nice and comfortable and would need very little things to be perfect. Unfortunately the room is very dirty, as the bathroom i stayed for 4 nights and nobody ever came to do a general cleaning of the room ( i know because the same piece of crackers left by someone was there from check in since checkout. Bathroom same even if its slightly better as i looks clean. However very often is without toilet paper.

The staff are so kind and such lovely people ! The beds are very comfy and everything is very clean. A/C works very well and the location is quite nice. You need to walk 5 mins up a hill, but it’s quick and right next to the start of the sunset trail !

First of all the location is hard to reach.steep hill and narrow roads.(If u have leg injuries like I did have stay away from here.when I booked it it was mentioned shuttle service from airport.and when I arrived they said it's not free.if it's not free why would u mentioned on your booking site?after I saw the location I have decided not to stay cuz it's location.i spoke with manager and we agreed upon canceling my stay without penalty.this is happening early morning.i waited till 2 pm no respond.i called a few times the place I spoke with someone and they said they can't do blah blah...the manager started talking "u ll get your money don't worry it will return and such"like I care about 10 dollar.then it just pisses me off cuz I don't care about 10 dollar I care that she is just playing a game like I don't know how booking cancelation works.aftter I said I ll write a review and hung up after 1 minute she agreed to cancel.shame.

Management attitude

Nice cheap budget style hostel. Beds were comfy and everything was clean. The staff were super friendly and helpful with anything at all. They were very helpful with booking tours and arranging transport from the airport.

It was right on the street, as in right on the side of the street, so anyone from the street can walk into the dorm rooms if they aren’t locked when people leave/arrive. But it felt very safe in that area so didn’t bother me too much. The lock for the shower didn’t work so had to ask for that to be replaced, and also had to ask for toilet paper multiple times as there was never any provided. But again, wasn’t too much of a bother at all.

Les lits sont confortables et ne font pas de bruits.

Aucune aération au niveau de la douche, l’odeur n’est donc pas agréable et l’eau ne s’évacuait pas. Seulement 1 rouleau de papier toilette disponible pour 6 personnes. Communication mauvaise : je n’ai pas eu l’accès au wifi et le staff ne m’a pas informé que l’eau potable ne serait pas disponible la nuit.

Wifi was extremely poor in the rooms

The property was good it was up on the mountain but still very close to everything. We had everything that we needed. They organised our transport to the airport which was great and beside lovely places to eat

The receptionist came in at 8am pulling the blinds to see who was still left when checkout isn’t until 12pm which was a bit uncomfortable to wake up to. The shower is freezing cold and you can’t change the temperature

- Sur l'ensemble de mon séjour, l'eau des douches dans les chambres étaient froides MAIS ils y a un espace de douche extérieur et commun, là l'eau était chaude donc n'hésitez pas à leur demander de prendre votre douche là-bas si le problème du chauffe-eau n'est pas réglé d'ici là

Location is uphill and far from everything but it’s okay just a bit rough during the day. Bathrooms had not enough toilet paper would recommend they keep a few more rolls on standby under sink.

Sehr herzliche Gastgeber. Ich habe mich sehr wohl gefühlt. Ist ein wenig ausserhalb und deshalb auch ruhig - aber trotzdem in 6 Minuten zu Fuss viele Restaurants und Shops.

Good aircon, comfortable mattress, location just up a hill but only 7 minutes walk to bars/ restaurant main strip. Free water, coffee and tea. They do a good breakfast and have a good laundry service. Nice family running the place, along with some friendly staff. Large lockers that can hold a large suitcase with space to spare, just bring your own padlock

Only 4 of the larger lockers had the facilities to lock as looks like they may of had to remove the others (prob lost keys) but can be easily replaced. Shower is standard Philippines budget shower

I think if beds are used for more than one day hosts should change or clean the beds. Bathroom could be little spacious.

The beds are comfy and the temperature was also cold enough for me. It also seemed pretty clean and I felt comfortable sleeping here. I’d definitely recommend this budget-friendly hostel!

The community area closes at 9pm, which can be annoying. You’ll either have to go out, on the street or lay in your bed. The doors of the shower and toilet couldn’t close fully of one of the rooms. I complained about it for 2 straight days and eventually they let everyone from the room move to another one. Great solution I think, but could’ve been solved sooner.

Lulu,Don, Dan et Aloha sont très gentils et accueillants. Le dortoir est propre ( à part 2 rognures d'ongles trouvés dans mon lit) et la SDB attenante. Grands lockers. Café, eau disponibles. Proche du centre ville tout en étant un peu excentré J'y suis restée 6 nuits au total

The cleanliness of the room and the hospitality of the staff

Sometimes, the WiFi connection is slow when inside the room. Maybe because of the wall barriers or the lack of repeater.

I don't normally leave reviews here, but this place needs one. These people were so kind, constantly asking if I was okay or if I needed anything. The rooms are also beautiful. Clean, and the bed is very comfortable; everything feels brand new. They were able to arrange everything I needed: food, getting me a scooter, tours, etc. I would definitely come back. Thanks for everything 🤎

When we arrived there was insanly many mosquitoes in the room, it really was unbareble. The owner helped us get rid of most of them but was still a few which is okey. The price on the laundary is expensive (but its almost the same on the hole island). I recommend to plan your laundry for berfore or after Coron if you are traveling for a long time. The homestay has free water. Beds are not that comfortable. But it was okey for the price. Its one toilet and one shower in each room.

Fantastic Stay at J&J Homestay in Coron – Highly Recommended! I stayed at J&J Homestay for a week and had an amazing experience! The location is perfect—just a 5-minute walk to the city center, making it super convenient for exploring Coron. The room was very clean, with hot shower and AC, all at a very affordable price. The common area is open until 10 PM, which was great for relaxing in the evening. The owner family was incredibly kind and helpful, always making sure I had everything I needed. Special shout-out to their bright and cute son—he was such a joy to be around! They also offer food, laundry, bike rentals, tour bookings, and van services, which made my stay even more hassle-free. If I ever return to Coron, I’ll definitely stay here again! Highly recommended for anyone looking for a comfortable, friendly, and budget-friendly place in Coron.

Highly recommend staying here! Staff are amazing, the rooms are clean and comfy. The location is great if you don’t mind walking up the hill to get there. Free coffee and water is a nice addition. The family that live there are lovely, really homely environment.

I like this hostel, the dorm are little home on the road, but is not main road and is quiet area, the staff is really kind and helpful. Toilet is inside the dorm and is very clean, there is also air dried in the toilet. There is little kitchen for order some food and coffee available. Thank to the kind staff!

Its very clean, modern and airconditioned. There is (hot) water at the reception available for free. The service of the personal is good. And there is a possibility to get your laundry done.

Its a bit further away from the harbour, but we didn't mind.

Only one thing that might bother is that there’s only 1 shower for 8 beds and it’s not that close to Coron Center (but you could walk there with no problems).

Neat & tidy home stay run by the most beautiful family. They are so willing to help you, chat with you & do anything to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Super clean, access to a kitchen, very close to the town. Would highly recommend.

You dont have after 10pm a place where you can sit and chill! You have not enought place in the room. I has little bit problems because everybody was sleeping when i came home (at 10pm) :( so you have to be quiet and i didnt feel comfortable thats why. Breakfast is not included, the portions are very small..

Staff is super friendly, location is alright (keep in mind it is up a hill and not as central, yet restaurants/bars are still accessible by foot), first hostel where the water pressure is strong!!! Also there is complimentary coffee in the morning and a water dispenser. Good value for money.

As everyone else has mentioned this: the rooms are a bit small (for me it was alright, you make do), the hostel could definitely improve by adding hooks and lockers to the rooms, perhaps some cupboards in the bathroom area for storage. I was lucky enough to share the room with only girls, however there were no locks on either the shower or the toilet. For those who want to stay here: if it matters to you at all, the rooms are directly by the street, you will receive a key upon check-in.

The place is nice but the staff is not very accommodating.

I had requested a lower bunk about 5 days prior and it was acknowledged. I arrived sick, had diarrhea and I’m 69. They told me they didn’t have any, but gave one after I checked in to an able bodied fellow I sent there after I made my reservation. I was had chills and they were going to charge me for another blanket. This is not a service oriented outlook.
