Unique property, great location.

During our stay, we encountered several significant maintenance and operational defects that severely compromised the quality of the accommodation. 1. Heating and Insulation: The main bedroom window could not be closed entirely, and the latches on the remaining windows were broken and almost non-functional. Consequently, the room remained uncomfortably cold throughout our stay, a problem that could not be rectified even with the auxiliary bathroom radiator turned on. 2. Plumbing and Drainage: Severe drainage issues were present across the entire unit. Both sinks (in the primary bathroom and the separate toilet) were clogged. Furthermore, the shower drain failed almost immediately upon use, causing water to pool rapidly and overflow into the main floor area. 3. Noise Disturbance: On three out of the five mornings of our stay, we were rudely awakened by loud, persistent banging from maintenance work directly on the floor above us. Management failed to extend the basic courtesy of informing us in advance about scheduled disruptions, nor was any form of compensation offered for the inconvenience. 4. Facilities and Waste Management: Basic guest instructions regarding waste disposal were entirely absent. While a waste container was located outside the front of the property, it was secured with a chain and remained inaccessible. 5. Management & Staffing: On two separate occasions, we contacted the hotel management—first to request additional towels and later to inquire about our room category. On both instances, the staff responded with commendable professionalism and courtesy. However, while the front-of-house service was polite, it could not compensate for the unacceptable noise levels and severe physical defects of the facility.

Vi kunne godt have brugt en brødrister. Der lugtede lidt af kloak på toilettet den ene dag - men lugten forsvandt heldigvis af sig selv senere

The water tower was a really unique building. The apartment was super modern and clean, with kitchen facilities. It is located in a lovely, quiet area with nice views of the boats sailing along the canal. The apartment was also within walking distance of the city centre and also the Stads park.

I have nothing negative to say about my stay. However, it is quite expensive for a one-person stay.

A different place to stay! The view of the roundabout was amazing - loved watching the world go by. Saw the peregrine falcon taking a pigeon up to its nest. Very clean and a very comfy bed.

No WiFi as stated. Expensive for a room with no reception service etc

De locatie beviel ons het meest. Het uitzicht over de stad is prachtig. Zeer behulpzaam personeel.

Het kookgerei had uitgebreider gekund.

Fraai, ruim verblijf op goede locatie

Badkamer te klein, ik paste net met mijn schouders tussen de twee muren, en dan hangt er ook nog een radiator tegen de muur.

Als je voor 2 nachten bijna 600 betaald en er is geen parkeerplaats voor de deur en je moet 15 min lopen naar een garage omdat er voor de deur 2 uur max geparkeerd mag worden. Geen ontbijt, geen ontvangst en vloer van het appartement totaal kapot. Schandalig Ik ben hier voor de derde keer en vorige keer was er nog een ontvangst en kon ik gewoon parkeren. En een heel appartement. Voor mij was dit dus de laatste keer

Beautiful location and design of the interior. High up from street level noise. Supermarket and local restaurants close by. Even city center is no more than 15 minutes walk.

Some confusion as to where i could find the code for the access cards but that got resolved very quickly after a call. Would have expected to find more soap to wash hands (only one available was in the toilet).

Eigenlijk, niets. Er is geen personeel aanwezig, derhalve ook niet kunnen beoordelen.

What made our experience so exceptional was the uniqueness of the hotel, the cleanliness but most especially we would like to thank Bram for the wonderful way he looked after us.

Prachtig penthouse appartement in een monumentale Watertoren met een super uitzicht! Het heeft een heerlijk bed en een comfortabele zithoek. Tip is om ook een keertje eten te bestellen om goed gebruik te maken van het verblijf, in plaats van het enkel als slaapplek te gebruiken. Groningen is ook echt een hele leuke plaats en binnen 15 minuten lopen ben je in het centrum!

De douche was helaas lauw. Van een appartement in deze prijscategorie mag je toch wel een warme douche verwachten. De kranen waren op de warmste stand wel gloeiend heet daarentegen.. Daarnaast hadden wij de pech dat er de eerste nacht een enorme wind stond. Doordat het raam in de slaapkamer niet dicht kon en op een kiertje vastgemaakt was, hebben wij ontzettend slecht geslapen deze nacht. De wind suisde vrijwel continu door dit kiertje. Mijn vriendin ging zelfs naar de bank omdat ze echt niet kon slapen en daar de ramen wel dicht konden (De tweede nacht gelukkig geen harde wind meer gehad en toen hadden we wel een goede nacht).

Tolles Apartment. Super Lage. Alles vorhanden, was man benötigt. Jumbo Markt direkt nebenan. Die Matratzen sind recht hart, was uns aber sehr gut gefallen hat.

Leider ist die Tür vom offenen Wohn- Küchenbereich zum Schlafzimmer aus Glas, und es gibt keine Verdunkelung. Wenn man nicht zusammen schlafen geht, ist es im Schlafzimmer recht hell.

Het uitzicht en de locatie zijn top. Verder is de accommodatie zeer schoon en van alle benodigdheden voorzien.

Er is niks wat niet beviel.

Het meest beviel mij het feit dat je in een historische watertoren zit en het fenomenale uitzicht wat daarbij hoort. Een unieke ervaring

Het inchecken. Ik had aangekondigd er rond vier uur te zijn. Ik kwam in een lege hal met een dichte receptie. Het contact zoeken verliep moeizaam en ik heb daar uiteindelijk drie kwartier gestaan me te irriteren

Ligging van de watertoren is echt top, mooie uitvalsbasis om de stad in te gaan. De inrichting van het appartement is minimalistisch maar erg comfortabel. Het bed is stevig maar slaap heerlijk. Het keukentje is keurig ingericht en compleet.

Het NO-Service concept is lastig als er iets niet volgens plan verloopt. Er is niemand die je kunt bellen, uitsluitend in nood. En een emailadres is dus voor niet noodsituaties de enige manier om te communiceren en dat is erg beperkt. Het oplossen van een probleem met de TV is simpelweg niet gedaan, ondanks een verblijf van 5 dagen. Ook handdoeken, vaatwastabletten en wc-papier was aanwezig voor 2 dagen. Dat is weinig gastvrij en niet in lijn met de positionering van deze accomodatie. Grootste ergernis was echter de geluidsoverlast van het bovengelegen kantoor. Uitslapen was geen optie op werkdagen en dat is ronduit jammer. Ook de afvoer van de bovengelegen toiletten is hoorbaar bij doortrekken. Bouwkundig had eea echt beter opgelost kunnen worden.

Staying in a water tower?? It was incredible! The space was spacious, the views incredible, the location great, the hosts extremely nice and available.. what's not to like!

Null Service - schwer erreichbare Mitarbeiter, die Fragen per Mail nur zögerlich oder gar nicht beantworten. Es gab nicht mal eine Flasche Mineralwasser!

The building itself is very beautiful and the view from the apartment is wonderful. It is very close to the city center, just 10 minutes walking and not far from a few garages.

The apartment is not very well equipped, the kitchen could benefit of a bit more utensils to cook and we could not find an hair drier. There were no information at all about the parking in surrounding street (the ticket machines allow you to pay only for 2h and it was not very clear if you can just renew the tickets every 2h) which would be useful. No big deal, but for this price I would expect a bit more attention to these details.

Das Gebäude ist spektakulär und wir haben uns gefreut über die architektonische und innenarchitektonische Leistung, es so schön wohnbar gemacht zu haben. Unser Appartement war geschmackvoll und praktisch eingerichtet und hat gleichzeitig mit viel freier Fläche geglänzt. Die Lage des Hotels im schönen Stadtteil Schildersbuurt, nah zu Fuß zur Innenstadt, könnte nicht besser sein.

Das Duschen mit Blick nach unten auf die Häuser ist toll, noch größer wäre der Genuss wenn das warme Wasser etwas beständiger in der Temperatur bleiben würde. Manchmal war es zwischendrin plötzlich etwas kühl. Trotzdem haben wir den Aufenthalt sehr genossen.

Salle de bain extrêmement petite : impossible de poser un seul produit de toilette où que ce soit même sur l'évier. Une fois l'effet "wahou" de la découverte passé, on découvre des fenêtres qui ne ferment pas. Finalement, pour accéder à la vue, il faut se baisser car les fenêtres sont basses. L'appartement n'est pas très lumineux. Insonorisation : on entend tous les bruits des voisins... Il y a effectivement un parking mais il est loin ! Nous avons trouvé que le prix était excessif pour la qualité du logement. A noter que nous voyageons beaucoup donc nous avons de quoi comparer.

Ein Fenster war von Anfang an kaputt, konnte nicht geschlossen werden. Haben es gleich bekannt gegeben. Wurde während Aufenthalt nicht repariert.

Prachtig en uniek verblijf met prachtig uitzicht over de stad. De kamer zelf was schoon en ruim opgezet.

The spaciousness and full kitchen was great for our family.

You need at least 30 minutes if you plan to walk to the train station.

Great view, the apartment was clean neat and tastefully decorated. Great value for money!

We were in a second floor queen apartment. The views were stunning and it had everything you'd expect in an aparthotel. Open plan living room, dining area and kitchen and separate bedroom and shower room. Only potential issue is privacy, as there is only a glass door between the living area and bedroom and the same between bedroom and shower. Thankfully the toilet is separate! It was only a 10 minute walk to the city centre and there's a Jumbo supermarket over the road for supplies. The staff also facilitated a late checkout for us on the last day when I wasn't feeling well, which was greatly appreciated.

Interesting hotel concept and a great opportunity to get to know the city through culture, starting from this hotel. Great location. Everything you need is in the room. We could also cook in our own kitchen. The top floor Sky Lounge has a view of the city.

A bit cold floor without carpets.

Beautifully converted watertower with spacious and stylish apartments. It felt really specially being so high up but in a historic building and not a soulless hotel tower! Also the staff couldn’t have been more lovely - the lady with the short hair kindly gave us a tour of the events space right at the top of the building which was amazing to see.

I would have given this a 10 if it was located a bit more centrally (however it’s in a nice residentially area about 25 mins walk from the railway station). Also the bathroom was a bit underwhelming given how enormous the apartment is!

Fab historic building in an amazing city. Room 52 (2nd floor) Queen room. Great shower, comfy bed, kitchen has all mod cons too. Seperate toilet from ensuite. Big TV. Fab city apartment.

The lift was broken on day 1 so a bit of a hike to 6th floor. It was mended quickly though

There wad a coffee bar on 8 th floor which did not work during our stay. Booking.com sent us misleading nessage that there will be no one to meet us and that we have to check online. Check in online was stresful and did not work properly but luckily reception girl Sandra wrote us that she will be there to check us in. I think it is very important for unique hotels like Watertorren to have receptionist on site and Sandra is perfect hostess.

Fabulous building and fabulous views of the city a place to enjoy relaxing after a busy day exploring

We were told the wrong apartment number and wrong floor so were unable to access the flat with the key card and when ringing the WhatsApp number given 4 times nobody answered so it was frustrating. But all turned out well in the end

Lovely use of historical building. Easy walk to centre .

Parking on street limited to 2 hours at night till 9pm so need to refill meter. . Bedroom upstairs with king bed had shower but toilet downstairs . Steep in middle of night walking down stairs.

The apartment was very spacious and well equipped. We had lovely views from the windows. It was a comfortable space for our 4 night stay. Staff were pleasant. The location was pretty good- about 15 minutes walk to the centre and there is a supermarket close by.

My main issues were the bedroom layout. The bed was pushed against a wall with no locker on either side for water/phone/books etc. Only one side had a plug. The shower room light switch was behind the headboard so it turned on randomly if you moved in the bed. There is no door to the shower room and only a blind in the shower window so the bedroom was not dark in the morning- I had to buy an eye mask. I assumed there would be some type of cleaning service but there was no change of our bins, no towels or linen change in the 4 days. We wouldn't expect it every day but assumed there would be some housekeeping over a longer stay.

Really great location, easily identifiable and close to amenities.

Only problem was that the hair trap in the shower was clogged. I managed to fix it myself and to be honest I get how it can be missed.

This is a very different place and it was a great experience.

Beautiful apartment in excellent location close to the supermarket, bus station and very nice park. Friendly staff, there was a tea time on selected date with the view at the 8th floor with the marvelous views of the city. They sell cakes, and it was the best cake we ever had in Groningen! I give them 10 points for having a fully functional kitchen for my family, which really made a big difference having to attend my son's graduation together with my whole family from another country. We would love to come back and recommend this place.

There was a lack of communication between the staff but they were able to sort things out at the end. Having only one toilet in a two bedroom apartment is inconvenient for us sleeping at the upper floor, we had to come down the stairs whenever we had to use the bathroom. I wish they have 2 toilets and curtain on the glass walls so we have privacy at the upstairs room, it would have been perfect!

Great location, near restaurants, unique place - it's a stay we won't forget.

Spacious appartement with fully equipped kitchen. Beautiful building. Very clean. Close to city centre. Nice area.

Some doors close very slowly and a bit difficult. The duvet on the bed seem to be more for the wintertime, a bit hot.

The location is great, and the city is wonderful. The idea of the hotel is new, it is an apartment with 2 rooms and salon. One room with single bed and one master room with king size bed which can be reached with small stairs. The apartment contains small kitchen and one bathroom and a 2 showers one in each room. the apartment is very clean.

The apartment is not quiet, we were able to hear our neighbors clearly. The elevator always late and doors is difficult to open and close.

Parking is unavailable and offered alternative in a public parking is extremely costly. Kitchen is partially and scarcely equipped. Elevator is slow and access is limited.

Nice quiet location. About a 10 or 15 minute walk into the area for restaurants etc. Easy parking outside (although it is paid parking between 9am and 6pm). Check in and out was easy. Right across from a supermarket. Apartments are lovely and spacious. It was fine for what we wanted, a base at night time, didn't spend time there during the day. Bed upstairs was extremely comfortable.

The outside of the hotel is very unkept. The viewing point on the 8th floor didn't seem to be open at all only between a few hours on a Sunday. There is also seems to be no aircon in the rooms. There is some sort of a thermostat however we couldn't get temp below 21 degrees however there was a fan in the room upstairs. The mattress in the cot was very hard. I had to take the duvet off the bed downstairs to fold up and put under him. Grand for a toddler but wouldn't be safe to do that with a baby! We were also there 3 nights and there was no cleaning. I also did see some reviews about dirty bed linen and I did see some stains on the bed sheets downstairs. The stairs in the room is also very steep with narrow steps.

Amazing place to stay in Groningen, beautifully decorated and great location!

Overall the place was amazing, however in a "fully equipped kitchen" some basic supplies like salt/pepper/oil would be appreciated.
