Great warm cosy place to all get together before our hunting trip

Although the room was small, it was comfortable and had all we needed. Really good hot shower . The communal kitchen was also well equipped.

This place is awesome - just out of Hokitika, with heaps of charm and great customer service. Rooms had everything we needed including an amazing shower, and the communal kitchen was spotless and very kitted out. The pub on-site is great too!

Beautiful location between the sea and lake. Gorgeous bush walks across the road. Dog friendly in accommodation and pub. Great dinner.

It was quiet room, decor was a very pleasant surprise, modern & welcoming and we enjoyed our evening meal outside in the sunshine.

La terrasse et la cuisine.

Le personnel désagréable, les chambres petites sans rangement et les lits très peu confortables. Nous avons été obligés de nous arrêter dans cet hôtel avec le tour « Kiwi experience » car l’un des fondateurs de kiwi experience est le propriétaire de cet hôtel. Arrêt inutile, pompe à frique pour remplir les caisses d’un hôtel médiocre.

Bathrooms Were in high demand at times

The Jacuzzi is occasionally open until 10, which was very relaxing to sit in, with a lovely view of the stars. The staff are super helpful. The kitchen is exceptional. A short drive from Hokitika and a short walk away from the beach and the lake.

Stunning location and impressive refurbishment . Comfortable bed and high pressured shower. Kiwi Experience were present but I never heard them and slept like a baby.

My own fault but I didn’t preplan for no coffee facilities in the room nor fridge but there is a shared kitchen nearby. WIFI & service was non existent in the room the whole 2 night stay (2 Degrees but my husband had better service with the same provider - strange). Sound proofing of rooms isn’t great but who should be in their room when at such a stunning location anyway.

Fantastic vibe, great location next to the beach and lake.

The cabin we were in was amazing, all new, stylish and beautiful. The beach is just 2min away, the lake is close too. Nice area for a couple of days to explore the surrounding. The hottub is a nice add on.

We had a washing machine "beside our bed" on the other side of the wall which was a bit difficult to sleep with. Whereas the pub was quiet very early. Some sort of bowl and coffee plunger would be great.

It was shit and water was coming through the wall made a real noise all night TV didn’t work properly puffing being so noisy it was on my bed pillows are so I’m sure in the morning and water just went overflowed onto the bathroom floor so there was no tea and coffee facility it was no smoke alarm so our day was not very enjoyable and would like our money refunded

Very nice, newly refurbished 3 bedroom house. Perfect for family or 3 couples. Shared compound with backpackers but the house is completely separate and fully self contained.

El sentirme como en casa gracias a la atención de Gabi y Sofia, trabajadoras muy profesionales que se preocupan por el bienestar de los huéspedes. También el hecho de que este hotel es muy peculiar: es hotel y albergue a la vez. Puedes tener privacidad absoluta o compartir habitación y espacios comunes como el área de cocina y sala de estar la cual es de las mejores que he podido ver en Nueva Zelanda. Tienes de todo lo que necesitas para cocinar, todo muy bien organizado. La cama súper cómoda. El restaurante y bar a la vez, muy acogedor. Y un área exterior con mesas y bancos de madera para tomar algo en plan tranquilo.

Wifi wouldn't connect

We booked through booking Com which didn't say restaurant was closed Mon and Tuesdays, Poster in room said happy hrs 7 days a week, not true if closed 2 of those days. Fan in bathroom was so loud and the shower flooded as drain was not cleaned out No tea or coffee we paid hotel rates but it's very much set up for back packers. ...yeh definetly not the stay we expectef sadly. .

Quiet, clean and so calm because of nature in the vicinity. The house we stayed was 10/10, didn’t expect it was that big for the price we paid. Thanks a lot. Cleanliness and the nature, the tress that are in the area help us relax too.

Die Lage, die Küche und das Personal. Super das es eine heisses Sprudelbad gibt!! Das Restaurant/Bar ist vorne und die Stimmung am Abend war gemütlich.

Ausstattung der Zimmer sehr minimalistisch. Keine Möglichkeiten was ab zu stellen aber auch nichts zum aufhängen. Erste Nacht in ein sehr feuchtes Zimmer. 2te Nacht bekamen wir ein Zimmer im Hotel

Very friendly staff. Excellent food and the bed was very comfortable and exceptionally clean as were the shower and toilet. Grat atmosphere as well. I would definitely stay again and recommend to others heading to the Coast!

We were thankfully upgraded to a 3 bedroom unit, a very well presented and appointed 'house', by our gracious and personable hostess Gabriella, a move we greatly appreciated. Thankyou 'Gabbi' - and Sofi, for being such great hostess's !! Our evening dining experience was excellent. Both our meals were tastefully presented and not at all like 'pub' food!

The hotel frontage, surrounds and interior look rather dated and unprepossessing -- offset by new, self contained accommodation units at the rear of the hotel. Our coffee machine went on the blink, unfortunately.

Enjoyable stay. It's near the beach and the lake, they have a great garden and even a hot tub to relax in. Second night was less enjoyable as a tour bus pulled off and loud (drunk?) partiers kept shouting until more than 1am in the garden and their rooms. I wish the hotel would keep them un dedicated dorms away from regular guests and instead of the same shared dorms. However the walls are paperthin so it wouldn't probably make a difference.

Very small and cramped room and toilet. Not value for money,it was the smallest room among the 6 different locations I stayed in NZ South Island.

Loved the outdoor area, the room was nice and modern, the old pub (check if it’s open before as it’s not always open) is so cool and has really cool designs.

Unfortunately for a place that wasn’t serving food there wasn’t a kitchen to make any meals only a microwave in the pub as the shared kitchen is currently being renovated.

The accommodation was so thoroughly cleaned, the bed was really comfortable, there was a table to eat - I did not miss a thing. But mostly, the staff was so incredibly kind and hospitable. When I arrived at Lake Mahinapua, I had caught quite a bad fever and they did absolutely everything to make sure I was looked after (from giving me a room on a more quiet side of the complex, to making sure I had eaten, et cetera). Words cannot express how much I did appreciate that as a solo traveller.

Great cottage for our family of 5. Easy walk to beach or lake. Very comfortable. We enjoyed the quiet location.

There were numerous light bulbs that didn't work - bathroom, bedside lamp, main lounge room. Access was a bit tricky as they were setting up for an event and had tents everywhere that we had to climb through.

Communal kitchen could be improved. Rather small for number of users. Tea and coffee would be appreciated in room. No internet in our room
