I stayed here with my family for four days. Would absolutely recommend, especially if traveling with children. The entertainment staff was excellent. They had lots of activities and things to do during the day. At night before the adult show they even have a show for children. The food wasn't as good as other resorts that I've stayed in Jamaica, but I would absolutely go back.

My stay at Rui Palace was not pleasant at all. The service was horrible. The people who work there are very rude and I did not even have the pleasure of being welcomed. The food service in the rooms is horrible. I paid for airport transportation, they never provided it for me. I had to pay separately. All the restaurants are by appointment and the entire appointment is always busy. It was not a pleasant experience.

Over all everything was great- my only complaint is the shore on the property - it’s extremely rocky and shallow - and you are not able to swim. Staff were friendly- good food options- staff is accommodating to food restrictions- everyone is friendly. Every night there were entertainment options.

When I first walked into my room there was feces in the toilet. The food options are advertised as having plentiful variety, but were very limited. Room services consists of turkey/cheese sandwiches and chicken salads ONLY. The restaurants on the property almost never have availability for reservations. We were not allowed to order take out from their restaurant with or without a reservation. The buffet business hours are a HUGE inconvenience different. Needless to say I was better off downloading an app and ordering food from an outside restaurant. 50% of the staff are super rude!! Very unhelpful, the tour guide wasn’t even available to offer the tour services when she specifically asked me to meet her at 10am and her work colleague said she wasn’t even in on 6/25. Also, that colleague didn’t even attempt to help after the fact, terrible customer service. Thankfully I booked my own excursions via expedia. Also, I had advised RIU that I paid for transportation and the same company that I booked for transport does free transfers round trip to the Riu resort!! Not once did Riu offer to reimburse me for the fees I paid for transportation. It was a very bad and different experience than what I had at Riu Punta Cana. I won’t recommend anyone to go there until those issues are addressed. The locals were amazingly friendly and make it very easy to navigate outside of the resort so ultimately, I just would return to my room to sleep.

The towel service was easy to locate. Everything was easy to find. We felt very relaxed there, me and my wife enjoyed our stay over the three days that we were there And we would definitely recommend coming back here and would even consider coming back here ourselves. Thanks to the RIU Aquarelle for making our stay so wonderful.

Eleven of us stayed at the Riu Aquarelle for 4 nights for a family vacation. The pros: Staff was very friendly, rooms were clean and comfortable. The maid service was great as well as the mini bar service. The splash pad was great for the little kids ages 1-7. The Italian Restaurant was good. The breakfast buffet was good. Be careful on the big slides at the water park. My son got a deep bruise on his heel; so keep your feet up. The entertainment at the family pool every afternoon was fun. Now the cons: The beach was not great. It was windy and red flag every day we were there, so no water sports. When you enter the water, it is very rocky and one in our group stepped on a sea urchin so be careful. The food at all the restaurants was mediocre with the exception of the Italian one, which was better. Group reservations were terrible, They never even answered my message from Wednesday morning about a group reservation for Thursday night. The Cappachino bar doesn’t open until 10am, which is crazy! The Elevators are overcrowded and hard to catch at times. The other thing is that the wine is not very good, and even at the nice restaurants there is no opportunity to purchase better bottles. In addition, at the Steakhouse restaurant, we were only allowed to order one side each. That’s not what I would consider “all-inclusive.” My husband ordered his ribeye medium rare and it came out well done. We’ve been to Jamaica 13 times. This was our first & last time at a Riu.

I am writing to share my experience during my recent stay at your resort. While I ultimately enjoyed my time there, I feel it is important to highlight some of the issues I encountered upon arrival, in the hope that this feedback will help improve the guest experience going forward. When I arrived at the property, I was informed that my room had not been properly booked, which came as a complete surprise. I was left waiting for hours while the front desk tried to sort out the confusion. To make matters worse, I was told that the resort was overbooked and that my stay was not included in the system. As a result, I was asked to pay for an upgraded room—despite already having made arrangements prior to my arrival. This was incredibly disappointing and unprofessional, especially after a long journey. It’s frustrating to feel as though I was being held responsible for an error that clearly occurred on your end. I expected a smoother check-in process, and a solution that didn’t involve me being pressured to pay more due to your overbooking. Thankfully, once the situation was resolved, the remainder of my stay went smoothly. The staff was friendly, the amenities were enjoyable, and the resort itself is beautiful. However, the rocky start did impact the overall experience. I hope this feedback is taken constructively, and that steps are taken to prevent similar issues for future guests. Moreover, I was promised hotel transfers and that also wasn't done.

This was, perhaps, the worst all inclusive resort experience I have ever had. I will start with the cigarette smell in the room and trash littered along the hallways. My view was a concrete rooftop littered with cigarette butts and trash. It was a very lackluster presentation and decoration of the room, lacking any trace of luxury or indulgence. The food was not the best. It was often lacking flavor or even salt. The champagne was so cheap it didn’t even bubble when the waitress poured it. The room service was a choice between a COLD turkey sandwich or some cold nachos with bell peppers whenever they ran out of jalapeño. It also took about an hour or two for room service to come, so before you do that, it’s best to go grab a bite at the sports bar which had the best food on the resort. The in-room mini bar was supposed to be restocked daily, but I ran out of Johnny Walker on my second day. I asked for a restock that did not come. After 2 days, I requested to speak to a manager and the bar was restocked after. There was mold and discoloration in the shower. Overall, the experience felt very cheap, and it was obvious that the owners are very frugal to a fault. I will not return but the outdoor grounds were BEAUTIFUL and the choreographer for the live entertainment DOES HER THING! It was so good every time! I also enjoyed the party MC, Rooster. He’s a great time!

For a newer resort I was expecting a little more with RIU Aquarelle. The staff were definitely inviting, the entertainment was good, the food was decent. We had an ocean front room where the views were very nice. However, the beach needs some upkeep. Frequently seen garbage on the beach.. old diapers, and old reusable cups from the resort. The chairs on the beach are plentiful but, there are very few umbrellas. There isn’t much landscaping on the beach with palm trees so the sun is blazing down on you. The umbrella that we finally got from the lifeguard who hands them out was broken and was rigged up to stay up partially on one side. Most of the umbrellas were broken that were available and there wasn’t many that you seen out. That’s probably why the beach chairs were plentiful on the beach. Be careful going out in the water in the area of the hotel; there are so many rocks. My husband stubbed his toe on a couple of them before we realized this area wasn’t good to go out in the water. The locals walking the beach also warned us after we found out the hard way. There needs to be signs warning about the rocks.

This is NOT a 5 star hotel for many reasons. There were cockroaches in my room. I know it’s Jamaica, but I travel to Jamaica at least twice a year every year and I’ve never seen cockroaches in my room at a resort or at any Airbnb I’ve stayed in. My shower didn’t drain. My sister had a tone of maintenance issues in her room including the lock for the patio door was missing. The food is meh. Not much available after the buffet closes and what’s available isn’t that great. Many buffet staff members were just straight up rude or apathetic and not very friendly or engaging. The entertainment team was amazing though and put on excellent shows and the women working at Capuchino were very lovely. The property itself is just ok, definitely not giving palace vibes as the name suggests. No night club so once entertainment is done there’s not much going on. It it’s extremely windy in that part of Trelawny so the sea is always really choppy. It’s also kind of remote, nothing much in the surrounding area and Mobay is 30-40 minutes away. I was there for a wedding so I didn’t choose this property but now that I’ve stayed I know it’s not something I would book again.

The minuses for the resort were that there was no ATM, the coffee stand on the property did not open until 10:00 a.m., and some of the information on their app (which was used for booking everything) was inaccurate, resulting in confusion over things like whether we had successfully booked a snorkeling trip or not. The staff were mostly very friendly and helpful. The dining options were good. There was definitely a party atmosphere; I don’t think I would bring kids here, in spite of the water slides and games. The resort is outside the town of Falmouth, and area around the resort was not one I’d like to explore.

Staff and bar service at pool and beach is superior Only issue is near impossible to get dinner reservations at specialty dinning, however buffet never disappointed

Room had a musty and mildew smell to it. No response from resort maintenance. Area around resort did not appear safe. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Pools were great with lots of fun activities. Beach was awesome. Food was not that great. Specialty restaurants were better, but general buffet was not great
