Tellement de choses que nous avons aimé dans cette établissement : la nourriture qui est INCROYABLE, la gentillesse du personnel, la chambre qui est propre et spacieuse, le cadre magnifique. Possibilité de louer un scooter. Les gens qui séjournent la bas sont aussi adorables. N’hésitez pas à faire la cooking class c’était top ! Le salon de massage à côté était aussi super. C’est vraiment un petit coin de paradis qui restera à jamais graver dans notre cœur

Les lits sont très confortables, le lieu est très chaleureux et le personnel est charmant. Putu vous fera un plaisir de vous faire découvrir les environs et est très accueillant.

My favorite stay during this one month trip. Gorgeous installations, with hammocks and chill areas everywhere, perfectly clean and well taken care of. Everything that is done in this hostel is made with love and care: the food, the organization of activities, the talks... From the moment I set foot here I felt like home and I spent time with the people staying and working here. It is one of those hostels where strangers still sit together to have dinner and talk. The place is a bit remote, but that is part of the plan, also you can arrange transport+rental of scooter very easily. I would come back to Munduk only to see Putu and Dedi again!

Le personnel est adorable : > Putu est de très bon conseil pour l’organisation d’activités, restaurant, transport pour la journée. > Aussi, Gede et sa famille sont de super personnes. Je me suis retrouvé sans transport à 16h30 pour un trajet de 3h vers Sidemen. Gede m’a trouvé une solution. Dans les 30 min, son fils et sa femme ont préparé la voiture et ont fait l’aller-retour pour moi🙏Pour un prix convenable.🙏

I had a lovely stay at this hostel. Everybody was very welcoming, food was really good and bed comfortable! They offer drivers if you can’t rent a scooter and give you tips. I really recommend this place.

El lugar es precioso, tranquilo y perfecto para desconectar. El desayuno está muy bueno y el personal es muy amable, atento y servicial. En general, todo estaba limpio y cuidado.

Durante nuestra estancia nunca hicieron la habitación, nunca nos cambiaron las toallas, algo que creemos que deberían mejorar. La ubicación es bastante apartada y está literalmente en medio de la nada. En nuestro caso no fue un inconveniente, ya que era precisamente el tipo de lugar que buscábamos, pero es algo a tener en cuenta antes de reservar.

La gentillesse de tout le personnel +++ La qualité des repas et des petits déjeuner (avec notammanent l'assiette de fruits frais du jardin) La possibilité de facilement louer un scooter de bonne qualité et pour pas cher. L'institut de massage la porte d'à côté 👌🏻 Les lits étaient également confortables, et petit bonus : possibilité de faire sa lessive gratuitement ! Le Desa est parfait pour découvrir la région son rythme et se ressourcer loin du Bali trop touristique

Le transfert depuis le port de Gilimanuk peut être assez cher (>550k/600k) si vous venez juste pour visiter Munduk car la région est peu desservie par les bus ou grab / gojenk Il vaut mieux savoir conduire un scooter pour être parfaitement autonome Le restaurant en face met de la musique assez forte toute la journée ce qui peut un peu casser l'ambiance détente du lieu malheureusement

I think it’s my favourite hostel I’ve ever stayed at! The staff are kind, chatty, friendly. There’s even a football pitch although I didn’t use it. Hands down the best banana pancake I have EVER had, and I’ve had a lot… so thick and fluffy… and they give fruit and coffee too! Munduk is so beautiful and I’d have stayed here longer if I could have. I ate dinner here most nights, too. The beds are soooo comfortable and curtains give great privacy. Would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Het ontbijt was erg lekker, Het personeel is geweldig, met name Dedi en Putu. Wat een geweldige mannen. Altijd in voor een praatje of grapje. Ze staan altijd voor je klaar als je vragen hebt over vervoer of activiteiten in de omgeving. En oja de bedden zijn fantastisch!

Incroyable !! Putu et Dedi sont des hôtes géniaux, de nombreuses excursions sont proposées, l’accueil est inégalable et la gentille imbattable. Un restaurant est disponible et une laverie. Première expérience en auberge de jeunesse, chacun a son espace les lits sont confortables et bien isolés on se sent bien et en sécurité à tout instant ! Le jardin est somptueux et il y a un espace détente et billard. Nous étions déçues de partir et espérons revenir !

El mejor lugar para hospedarse en Munduk. La localización es muy buena y las camas son grandes y cómodas. Todo está muy limpio y los desayunos de Dedic son increíbles (probad las tortitas). Hemos vuelto 2 veces a este alojamiento. Nos ayudaron a planificar las rutas y el alquiler de la moto es muy económico. Son los mejores!!

Naast de prachtige natuur en locatie - maakten het personeel ‘Dedi & Putu’ mijn ervaring echt ‘top!’ Super vriendelijk - behulpzaam in tips geven qua plannen maken - super net hostel! En bovenal moet ik een shoutout doen naar Abe - een super safe quick driver! Die me af en toe rond-scooterde!

I had a wonderful stay at this hostel and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area. The facilities were clean, comfortable, and had a great atmosphere that made it easy to relax and meet other travelers. What truly made my experience special was the amazing staff. Everyone was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and always willing to help with recommendations, transportation, or any questions I had. They genuinely care about their guests and go above and beyond to make sure everyone feels at home. Thank you to the whole team for making my stay so memorable. I would definitely stay here again!

Desa feels safe and secure. Comfortable beds with crisp, clean white bed linen and bath towel. Wifi works well everywhere. The staff (Dedi and Putu) were really friendly and helpful. I was picked up from Munduk bus stop. They gave me advice, arranged a walking/waterfalls day tour and sorted my onward travel. They also put up with my terrible attempts to speak Bahasa Indonesia 🥴 One thing to note, Desa Hostel is in the village of Bengkel, around 15 minutes away from the Munduk. This was not an issue for me. It's an easy motorbike taxi ride, if needed. 🙏

I left a bad review for the noisy warung across the road 😁 The tours and transfers were a little pricey and I never did get to see my final bill 🤷‍♂️

Een absoluut geweldig verblijf gehad. Wij hebben de cookingclass gedaan en dit zouden we 100% aanraden. Dedi en Putu waren erg lief, regelden drivers en een tour en we hebben zelfs Nederlands met ze gezongen en gesproken. Een heerlijk oord om tot rust te komen! We kregen zelfs heerlijke passion fruits uit eigen tuin mee voor onderweg Het is midden in de rimboe dus wees voorbereid op wat diertjes. Zo hadden wij gecko poep in onze kamer. Echter werden onze lakens meteen verschoond en hadden wij hier geen problemen mee

Les dortoirs sont spacieux, les douches également, le restaurant fourni un service impeccable. Le jardin est luxuriant mais ce qui rend l’expérience unique sont les gens que vous rencontrerai sur place. Dedi et Putu travaillent sur place et sont des humains extraordinaires. Bienveillants, accueillants et surtout particulièrement drôles.

El alojamiento es genial, está en una zona preciosa y tranquila en la que puedes conocer Bali a un nivel mucho más local, relajado y cercano. Las camas son comodísimas y está todo súper limpio. Desde el primer momento te hacen sentir como en casa. El desayuno que prepara Dedi merece muchísimo la pena, es todo una experiencia :) Hay billar y dardos por si te apetece pasar un rato compartido. Recomiendo 100% y yo estoy deseando volver ☀️

I liked everything.

You have to stay here if you’re going to Munduk! Definitely one of the best hostels I’ve stayed at. The staff are some of the funniest and friendliest people ever, and they really make you feel at home from the moment you arrive. We joined the temple and waterfall tour through the hostel and had such a fun day. And you absolutely need to book the cooking class. Dedi takes you to his family home, where his wife teaches you how to cook the most delicious Balinese food. One of the highlights of our trip for sure. There’s a local warung right across the street, but the hostel also serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and we really enjoyed all the food there too. If you want to go into Munduk town, the staff can also drive you there. So don’t worry if you don’t ride a scooter. I don’t either, and I had no problems at all staying here :)

Als je een plek in Munduk zoekt waar je je thuis voelt dan is het hier. De medewerkers laten je zo enorm thuis voelen. Ik kreeg een update van kamer, werd verzorgd met heerlijke gezonde drankjes toen ik me niet zo lekker voelde, en alles waar je hulp bij nodig hebt kan geregeld worden. Ook de cooking class is echt super tof om te doen. Ik zou hier zeker terugkeren.

We loved our stay at Desa Hostel, the place is beautiful and you can rent a scooter at the hostel to get around. The staff is so friendly and Dedi was the best host ever! We only stayed 2 nights but almost wished we had stayed a bit longer. It’s one of the best places to see authentic Bali and meet the amazing local people. We stayed in a private room as a couple and the room was very big and well equipped. The hostel is owned by locals, so by staying there you also support the people.

There were a few little things but in the end we had such a wholesome experience that we did not mind any small details.

I liked that the staff went out of their way to help you and want to make it feel like your second home. I went on a solo tour with a scooter driver organised by the hostel to several waterfalls and had a great time. Hostel was clean and well maintained. Free water re-fills. They let me use their kitchen to cook meals.

Location a bit out of the way but they will drive you to a mini-mart and organise tours for you.

To put into words how incredible this place would take a lifetime! the staff, the environment, the rooms, the food. There is no fault. The staff go above and beyond to accommodate you and are so so lovely! they also have such an incredible sense of humour. Photos really don’t do this place justice. Dedi and Putu and both amazing hosts and deserve so much credit! we both really hope to revisit in the future ☺️ if your looking for a place to stay in Munduk, I can’t recommend this place enough for you! we already miss it <3

Ici tout est parfait : autant le lieu (propre et confort), que le personnel d'une incroyable gentillesse (merci!), que les activités proposées (tour des cascades, cours de cuisine/offrandes). La nourriture est aussi délicieuse !

My stay at Desa Hostel was honestly such a great experience. The place is super quiet and peaceful, which makes it perfect for relaxing after a long day. I really liked that they have a common kitchen, a laundry area, and a nice open space where you can eat, order food, and hang out with other travelers—it’s easy to meet people and have good conversations. The staff were incredibly kind, like genuinely so friendly. On my last day, they even brought me to my pickup point, which I really appreciated. Little things like that make the place feel special. I’ll definitely be back—this hostel is a gem.

I love this hostel! It looks absolutely gorgeous, stuff is extremely friendly and it's like an oasis in the mountains. Food is great for affordable price and I seriously have no complaints. Bed is amazing as well! I sadly only stayed one night and will hopefully return in the future!

I’ve been travelling around the world since 2 years. It’s the best place that I’ve stayed at ! Everything is perfect, room spacious, bed so confortable, shower really clean with hot water. They have restaurant where you can eat breakfast lunch and dinner, it’s always open. You have drinking water all the time, and you can do washing machine for free ! Tea/coffee and water for free as well. The place is beautiful, they have a big beautiful garden where you can chill. More then that, all the crew are really kind. You can do a cooking class and tours ! Putu and all the staff will do they best for you. You can rent a scooter, but if you can not drive they have tour. Thank you for everything, I’ll definitely come back 🍀. Make sure you stay at this hostel, you’ll not regret it ! So safe for solo traveller !

Es war für mich einer der schönsten Aufenthalte auf meiner Reise. Das Personal ist super nett und lustig, man hatte einen sehr schönen Aufenthaltsbereich, wo man immer ein paar Leute traf und die Anlage ist wunderschön gestaltet. Sehr grün! Es gab tolles Essen und gemütliche Hängematten, zu meiner Zeit eine supersüße Babykatze, um die sich gut gekümmert wurde. Die Zimmer waren geräumig und sehr schön! Es war alles da, was man braucht. Ich wäre gerne noch länger als drei Tage geblieben. Danke für die schöne Zeit!

this place is really amazing for solo travelers like me and the best option in Munduk! I’ve met the best people and the team was so kind and helpful also. The hostel itself is big, comfortable, the beds are comfy and wide, the bathroom is clean and big. We did a cooking class and it was the best experience. Glad I came! Really Reccomend

Great hostel stay, the owner and staff were super friendly and gave lots of great info on what to do in the area and answered all our questions. We stayed in the private room and it was very comfortable and clean. Incredible value for the price. Cheap scooter rental was great to get around the area, and a must if you don't have a driver.

Le personnel est adorable ! (Comme partout en Indonésie) mais tout le monde était particulièrement très gentil C’est spacieux , la literie est top !

Pas d’activités organisées pour rencontrer du monde mais il y a des espaces communs propices aux rencontres tout de même !

Very nice hostel with super lovely people!! Dedi and Putu make you feel truly at home, treating you like family. The rooms are very spacious, the beds are comfortable, and the garden is beautiful. I would definitely recommend the cooking workshop, which takes place at Dedi's family home. One of my favorite hostels so far! I will definitely come back!

Hands down the best hostel I’ve ever stayed at! (and I’ve experienced many) I want to start by saying that Putu, Dadi and the rest of the staff are all so sweet! Always smiling and willing to help, that truly made such a difference :) the rooms are spacious and the beds extremely comfortable! the breakfast/food options are delicious and fair priced, the common areas (hammocks, pool table, darts, big tables, terrace) are perfect and cozy to meet other travelers or unwind on your own after a long day of exploring! Everything went so smooth, plus I met the most incredible solo travelers during my stay here, truly the highlight of my entire 2 month indonesia trip :) Love you guys, Jackie, your peruvian friend, les mando muchos besos!

For sure, it's the best hostel i have ever been in my life. Rooms are big, dorm bed is big and really comfortable. The shower is clean and warm. You can rent a good scooter with the hostel. Furthermore, the two managers, Dedi and Putu, are so friendly and gentle. If you go to Munduk, you have to stay here. You will appreciate, no doubt. Thanks

The beds were incredibly comfortable The place was was really well kept The staff were amazing I was ill for a few days while staying here and they did everything they could to help me. They even drove me to the hospital

My stay was amazing! The vibes of that hostel -specially solo travellers- are one of my highlights. Putu and his collegues made the athmosphere around the table amazing. They help with everything always with a smile and good humor:) The facilities are great while the beds and calmness of the hostel let you rest and sleep well. The food at the hostel was very good! Definitely coming back!

Les chambres sont toutes communes et seulement séparées par des rideaux. Je conseille d’apporter des boules Quies pour mieux dormir ahah

El mejor lugar en el que me he hoapedado. Llegue con un accidente en lq piernq y la gente que se hospedaba en el sitio y Putu, el encargado, me ayudaron y acompañaron. Hay muy buena energía en el lugar y esta en el medio de la selva, super cuidado y tranquilo. Todos los dias se arman grupos para hacer paseos, conversar, planificar prox viajes, genial.

Amazing hostel with incredibly kind staff and a very social atmosphere. Everyone is having dinner together so it's impossible not to meet other travellers. Beds are big and comfy, and everything was really clean.

The area can be a bit harder to get around without your own scooter, but the staff will be happy to organise a driver or tour for you

One of the best hostels I've stayed at. Seriously awesome. Staff are amazing, and everything is super clean and comfortable. You can ocasionally catch a soccer game with the locals too.

One of the best hostel I had!! The owner and the staff are amazing and super helpful. It's quiet but lively at the same time. Many places to hang out. The food is good. The bed was super comfortable (with bed light and electric outlet), the room was big, as the bathroom were spacious and well organized. I could have stayed way longer.
