Appartement 8 & 9- Lagun blou resort - Curaçao

Words cannot describe how beautiful and transformative this place is. Pure heaven gorgeous outdoor areas with view of the open ocean. Right next to Lagun beach which has excellent snorkeling. If you plan to spend you're time outdoors and only sleep in the apartment, this place is perfect!

The apartment itself was not comfortable. It was spacious and had balconies on both levels, but the downstairs has no screens and no A/C so was unpleasantly hot. There is a kitchen but we didn't even try to cook there. It smelled like mold. The bedroom upstairs with attached bath was fine - A/C worked great but the room was small. Also there was no coffee and you could "rent" a tiny beach towel for $10. The pool looked dirty. I like to think I am more "rugged" than I am but I think I have gotten spoiled by American conveniences I have grown accustomed to. I think a few small upgrades could make this place 10 stars!

Nice place, beautiful view. There is a private entrance into the water and sun loungers. Lots of iguanas (we found this entertaining, but be careful, they climb up to you and try to clamber onto your legs. We used a towel to fend them off. Of course, you need to understand that they are climbing on your food if you eat outside). But again, it wasn't that scary for us. 😆🤗 One of the downsides is the old air conditioner... perhaps it doesn't have any freon at all and that's why it doesn't cool very well. The owners ask that you don't leave it on when you leave the bedroom (there is air conditioning only there...). We tried to do this out of respect for the owners, but when you come back and want to go to bed... the air conditioner barely cools... and you'll end up sleeping in a poorly cooled space at night, which personally bothered me a lot. So, don't forget to turn on the air conditioner in advance, at least an hour before bed... 🤗 Another downside is poor soundproofing. But they saved me. If you're not sensitive to noise, you'll be fine. There aren't any good places to eat nearby, so we cooked our own meals. There are no shops either. We had to stop at the only decent store Carrefour and buy some food (meat, vegetables, and salmon for a barbecue dinner). It saved us, but we're picky eaters and aren't ready to eat sandwiches from a nearby cafe and wait over an hour for them to be ready. 🫣. Despite all the downsides, we don't regret staying here one bit! Just keep that in mind. 🤗

We had a wonderful stay in this duplex apartment. The sea and sunset views are absolutely stunning, and the private rooftop terrace is the perfect place to relax. The apartment has been freshly painted and features a new cooktop. Both the bed and the sofa bed are exceptionally comfortable, making it a great place to unwind after a day of exploring. Highly recommended!

A few small additions could make the stay a 10/10, such as adding a toaster and a pasta colander to the kitchen. The portable outdoor clothes drying stand should also be replaced, as it is rusted and no longer in good condition.

Un lugar precioso y privilegiado por su ubicación, que definitivamente recomendaremos a amigos y familiares. Se nota que han mejorado las instalaciones comparando con algunas reseñas que leímos antes de ir (cama nueva, baños renovados y muebles exteriores actualizados). Totalmente recomendable si lo que quieres es hacer snorkel, la playa de Lagun es la que más nos gustó de toda la isla para ello. Un placer.

Para el precio que se paga (estuvimos 10 días) podrían cuidar más las instalaciones comunes del resort (limpieza de las piscinas, el bar que no está en funcionamiento), y también la limpieza que se ofrece del apartamento. Cada 4 días te cambian las sábanas y te dan toallas nuevas, pero no limpian la estancia.

Excellent location for beaches and the sunset. You do need a car but it is the best way to see the island anyway as taxis are very expensive. Quiet, tranquil and beautiful setting.

This is only for apt no 8. The apartment needs an update asap. Everything is old and in poor conditions: Old and smelly furniture. No screens at any doors or windows. The mosquitos are atrocious. Some of the windows do not fully close leaving a gap. Not mentioning you cannot leve them open during the night. The beds are small stiff and squeaky. Hard pillows. No comfortable sleep. No AC downstairs. No hot water at downstairs bathroom. Everything is in poor conditions and towels were not clean. Promised a change of towels and sheets after 4 days. Nobody did it. Poor and disconnecting wifi. We are not the kind of complaining people we just try to see the good part of any vacation...but.... Anyhow we were most of the time out exploring the island. But other then the location and the view this resort was not what we're expecting.

Perfekt Lage an der Lagune mit privatem Zugang zu einer Badeplattform an der Klippe. Das Appartement hat sowohl eine Terrasse (ebenerdig) als auch einen großzügigen Balkon in der 1. Etage. Der Kühlschrank war groß, hat gut funktioniert und die Nespressomaschine war auch sehr erfreulich.

Das gesamte Mobiliar und die Ausststtung des Appartements ist etwas 'runter" gekommen und altmodisch, aber für 2 Personen gerade ausreichend. Die Innenräume waren nur zweckmäßig und in keinster Weise gemütlich, eingerichtet. Der 2 flammige Herd und die zugehörigen Töpfe und Pfannen passten grössenmässig nicht zusammen, so dass man eigentlich nur eine Platte verwenden konnte. Die Sonnenliegen waren durchgelegen. Die gesamte, äussere Anlage wirkte etwas ungepflegt, das Cafe und das Restaurant waren wegen Eigentümerwechsel nicht in Betrieb. In der Lagune selbst befindet sich ein Netz, aus dem von den Fischern jeden Morgen ca. 750kg frischen Fisch abgefischt wurden und deshalb diverse verendete Fische im Meer und am Grund schwammen.

Location is amazing. Facilities on the property were good. Small private sunset spots throughout. Air conditioning in bedroom.

No acreens on patio or windows so no access to open air. Has the keep doors windows closed for bugs. Could use a bit of an update but still comfortable.

Excellent location. Easy walk to the beach for snorkeling. Cecilia was very pleasant.

Twice I asked staff to check our stove as it gave me a shock when I was cooking! Had to have shoes on or it would shock me! Nobody came to help. Disappointing. Not the most comfortable bed

The view from the apartment was amazing and swimming was excellent.. We managed to attract 2 lovely little cats that they look after there.. who we fell in love with...

Very limited pots and pans.. and only a 2 ring stove top and microwave.. living room was very warm with only a fan...

The bed, bedding and pillows are basic and a little scratchy. Upgrading this would make for a much better nights sleep. Coffee not included.

Love the overlook of the ocean & private dock. It's beautiful! Love having the friendly cats come visit. The staffs were very nice.

Only one shower that worked, we let the front know but it was never fixed. A few things were broken, no light in the fridge, light over the stoves was dead which made it dark to see what you're doing. The place wasn't cleaned on days like they said that it would be or cleaned at all so we took our own trash out and did our own cleaning. Do not understand the point of giving us a tiny travel size bottle of shampoo to use. Just make it a big bottle please.

It was peaceful, quiet, and relaxing. This resort is perfect for those who seek a simple and quiet vacation with breathtaking views.

Die Größe vom Appartement und die Aussicht war absolut umwerfend!

Wasserdruck in der Dusche war zuwenig und man konnte nur heiß oder kalt duschen! Internet extrem schlecht! Es gehört einiges saniert und erneuert. Küche hat etwas modrig gerochen und das Geschirr auch ! Haben uns aber trotzdem sehr wohl gefühlt und erholt

De locatie is waanzinnig mooi. Uitzicht op de lagune. En aan de oceaankant loop je de trap af en spring je zo de zee in om het koraal te bekijken. Tof zwembad en de zonsondergang vanuit het bubbelbad was onvergetelijk. De tuin is met zorg en smaak aangelegd. Super lieve eigenaren.

Het bed was echt gammel. Onze bungalow was een van de laatste die nog niet was opgeknapt en dat was te merken. De leguanen konden bij het ontbijt wel echt opdringerig zijn. Tip voor dames: geen rode nagellak op je tenen, die beesten denken dat het fruit is en blijven komen.

Would have liked AC in whole apt. No restaurant or bar, even though it was advertised they had it. Check in was basically 1 hr time between 3-4pm, bedroom was small.

The location was superb! What a gorgeous view! It was a fantastic area for snorkelling. The unit was really well supplied with everything you need- from useful kitchen appliances to beach towels and bag. The staff are very friendly and the gardens are so well attended. A memorable time. I would love to come back!

The pillows were a little uncomfortable. But everything else was so great it seems churlish to even mention it.

The service at the hotel was really good. They were very helpful, and we really appreciate that they allowed us to do a late checkout due to our late flight. We had an amazing holiday.

The best spot to explore this part of the island where accommodations are limited. Unforgettable sea access for snorkeling – a true paradise! Sunbeds with stunning views and even a small sauna. You can also buy some small items at reasonable prices (for the island).

Downsides: no restaurant and an unbelievable number of mosquitoes, so come prepared.

Apartment 8 review: awful smell upon arrival; towels that were stained with blood; no blinds/curtains in bathroom windows; sliders to outside could not be closed upon arrival (we fixed them); resort under renovation/construction; no cleaning in entire 4 night stay; some windows cracked upon arrival; A/C only keeps upstairs cold; water pressure was poor; no hot water in bottom floor bathroom; unsafe plugs in bathroom (not GFI plugs); gaps around doors and windows; apartment seemed to have undergone renovations that were unfinished; old furniture; kitchenette not well equipped; fridge is breaking down (ice present in the back of fridge); water reservoir of fridge with growth on it; pre-arrival cleaning was non-existent (hair present in showers, floors dirty, ants everywhere); wifi strength/quality very poor; posting states that there is a restaurant on site -> this is false, there are restaurants nearby but not at the resort; requested late check-in and was approved by host months before arrival... host informed us that we needed to drive 20+ minutes away from resort to pick up the key about 1 hr before arrival; main pool appeared in very poor state; some facilities in resort broken/not available; list goes on and on. Reply to owner: posted pictures of some issues. Owner lies in reply (char limit -> can't respond to all lies). Never requested beach towels as had own, unclear why lie of taking towels to beach/refusing to pay. Spent >50% of time in Curacao in resort. Neve requested any refund/money back, so unclear what our "bad intentions" were. Instructions stated cleaning was to be done on the 2nd & 4th days NOT a need to request it. Key pick-up: owner states that we did not reply to message, it was sent while we drove to resort following pick up procedure he had initially told us. We were not rude to staff, but firm/stern on not driving 25 minutes out of town to pick up keys.

This place is incredible!! Best spot on the whole island. A truly unique experience. All the best beaches are within minutes. Great restaurant choices also within minutes. Clearest water. Amazing coral and wildlife. This is also the best building within the resort with the best views

The apartment was pretty dated and worn inside, some hairs in the bathroom, stains on old towels. Could have been a bit cleaner and more user friendly (no dish towel or paper towels in kitchen, no body wash in the shower, old appliances).

Location is fantastic (the apartment as well as the whole resort), bay-view, staff are all excellent! Dinner catered at the resort is excellent!

It’s location is great, with access to the water by stairs or 100 m to the beach. Facilities are superbe and staff super helpful and friendly. Dive school run by hugo, good restaurant and very spacious apartments with great views

We have lived on Curacao for more than 30 years and this resort under it’s new management is one of the most relaxed and beautifully situated places we have ever stayed! We’ll be back many times!
