No contact with the owner and restaurant on premises closed. Such a lovely hotel but advertisement misleading no mention about restaurant that is closed which is such a pity.

Although it was a very cold day and night we had a lovely quite airconditioner and electric blanket on the bed. Price for the unit was very reasonable and we will definitly stay at The Vic hotel again when we visit Montagu.

As a budget self catering unit, the amenities was great, however the only thing I found strange was washing dishes in the bathroom basin 😔

Reviewed Jun 8, 2026We loved the private parking behind the building. It felt safe and secure. The bedroom has EVERYTHING you need. It has ample cupboard space if you plan to stay long and this is the first time our host provided snacks! (Which was a very welcomed and pleasant surprise for our movie night). There is a fantastic pizza place called the Burghandy Gherkin walking distance from the property. If we ever find ourselves in Montagu again this is where we will be staying.

Reviewed May 17, 2026Property is quirky , great location in a lovely town , on the main high street but still quiet overnight . The keypad system worked very well , safe gated parking . No breakfast provided but the Rambling Rose within short walking distance was open from 08.00 for coffees and breakfast and was delightful Leaflets for walking tour in room which was very interesting .
Showing its age a little bit , the blind in the kitchen area did not close fully so the outside light was shining into bedroom area all night .

Parking was safe behind gates and the keypad worked very well Very nice historic town , great to walk around a nice spot to stay whilst doing the garden route

Very cute little swimming pool at the front, convenient parking, safe place very well located. “Self catering” is over promising: only a fridge and a microwave. But if you intend to go to the restaurant, it’s perfect!

Next time I would chose a location further down to the church, this is a nicer area with nicer houses and Restaurants/bars. The room itself was fine, some tiles were broken and also the mirrow in the bathroom... which was not bad and it kind of was part of the style. So, all good. But we have stayed at much nicer places on our trip for the same price.

Great air-conditioner (It was super hot while we were in the area). Best: the Host was very kind and we had a lovely Chat, and then the next morning I got to visit with her 19 yesterday-old son. Great Family, great stay.

Reviewed Mar 5, 2026Zentrumsnahe Unterkunft. Die Apartments liegen ruhig in einem Innenhof mit kleinem Pool. Der Pkw kann auf einem gesicherten Parkplatz abgesellt werden. Unser Apartment war gut ausgestattet. Die Küchenzeile sogar sehrt gut. Mehrere Restaurants sind fußläufig zu erreichen. Check-in über Schlüsselkasten war problemlos. Die Kommunikation mit der Vermieterin über Booking.com und WhatsApp war jederzeit sehr gut.

Da nur esim Karte konnte ich die Vermieter nicht anrufen. Geht nur mit Whatsapp Nummer. Auch sehr schlecht, das weder bei booking noch sonstwo darauf hingewiesen wird dass das Restaurant geschlossen ist. Die Lage und Ruhe war perfekt.
