The only thing is the neighbours dogs barked in the early hours of the morning.

Room was very small struggle to get off bed. Bathroom when using toilet one can hardly open shower door. Aircon is coming on but don't really cool the room. For the rate I paid it was very disappointed.

Reviewed Dec 29, 2025B and B was within walking distance to the ocean. Unit was clean and had all the necessary equipment. We were also assisted with an earlier check in which was great. Only stayed the night and left early the following morning
Road was very noisy during the day, due to it being the main access road to the the beach front, however quitend down in the evening.

Reviewed May 5, 2025I had a family emergency, when we arrived, so we did not visit the area. But the staff is amazing, friendly and filled with the Spirit of the God. They offered support, showed concern and even prayed with me, as my spouse had to hospitalized. Much blessing to Daisy, Stella, Benita and team.

I know the rooms there and I expexted to stay in the same kind of rooms that I know or something similar. The room was an outside room that lacked soace an I was quite dissapointed.

Reviewed Jan 8, 2025Review for Benri Guesthouse, Gonubie We recently stayed at the Benri Guesthouse in their penthouse, and overall, we had a pleasant experience. The views of the ocean were stunning, and we particularly enjoyed the well-equipped braai room, which made for a fantastic family gathering spot. The daily room service was exceptional, with everything cleaned thoroughly and towels replaced regularly, making our stay comfortable and hassle-free. However, we were disappointed by the unexpected charge of R600 for our 18-month-old baby. This was a first for us, as most establishments allow young children to stay for free. Despite this, we appreciated the overall experience and would like to thank Benri Guesthouse for a memorable stay. Our family truly enjoyed every moment in the penthouse.

The balcony was not child friendly The glasses of the safety rail on the balcony was not secure properly. The dining room leaking in when it rains so that pools of water form's on the floor and the shower door did not close properly and course's wet bathroom floors.

The absolute norm for me with Bookings is that the price you see is the price you pay. This was a first and hopefully, last such occasion where when booking in a Breakage Deposit was required after payment on the website and before being able to gain access. This is unexpected and a nuisance as I wasn't there and had to scramble to quickly sort this out on a Saturday afternoon. I was later required to provide banking information for the Breakage Deposit to be refunded to me. This situation definitely disrupts the usual easy flow of using the Bookings service instead of an agent who would see to such things. Not amazing, officious is perhaps a clear description of the manner in which this was handled. Sadly, and no fault of the establishment at all, the ocean in Gonubie and in East London are polluted with sewage thus not fit for swimming - how third world is that

Reviewed Dec 27, 2023The view was spectacular from room 2 and in the penthouse its even beter. The hosts was very accommodating and freindly. Always their to help and assist with anything and everything we needed. I will recommend it to anybody and everyone that wants to visit Gonubie for a good rest holiday. The rooms get cleaned everymorning and fresh linen and towels are provided. House keeping is excellent. We had a wonderfull holiday.

In the room we were in - The glass doors means that you can see the people in the next room and vice versa but the work around is to pull your curtains so no big deal.

There was music playing early in the morning which was a bit disruptive.
