B&B Teddy "Prachtig authentiek woonschip uit 1912, 15 minuten van Amsterdam"

We stayed for 3 nights in this charming apartment aboard an old ship, and we'd absolutely return. What We Loved: The terrace & views – The private terrace overlooking the Zaan River is lovely; we spent hours watching small boats pass by throughout the day. Genuinely cosy – The living area is small but perfectly designed to feel intimate and welcoming, not cramped. Breakfast setup – No full kitchen, but there's everything you need: a quality coffee machine stocked with fresh beans, and sufficient prep space. Spotless & well-maintained – The apartment is clean and in excellent condition. Teddy – Our host is genuinely friendly and always ready to help. He made us feel very welcome. Unbeatable location & value – Just 20 minutes by train to Amsterdam Central Station, but in a quiet, peaceful area to relax. Far better priced than staying in the city. Bottom line: Highly recommended if you want proximity to Amsterdam without the hustle and bustle, all at great value.

Just minor points to consider: Ceiling height – The living area has limited headroom; taller guests will need to duck in places. The bed – It leans slightly, but it's comfortable and charming – part of the ship's character.

Die Übernachtung auf einem Schiff von 1912 ist schon etwas besonderes. Ist eben kein Hotelzimmer . Man muss sich nur darauf einlassen, sonst ist man vielleicht enttäuscht. 20 min mit dem Vorortzug nach Amsterdam.

la barca era completa di tutto il necessario per soggiornare qualche notte, c’era il bollitore, macchinetta del caffè, asciugamani. il letto era comodo e cuscini anche, in oltre c’era lo scalda letto ottimo per i mesi un po freddi. l accoglienza è stata meravigliosa da parte dei proprietari, ci hanno offerto delle cose da mangiare e sono state molto gradite, c’erano anche gli ombrelli per la pioggia. tornerei volentieri sulla loro barca.

Nous avons été ravis de cette occasion de passer une nuit sur une péniche! Teddy est un hôte très accueillant. La vue depuis la péniche est jolie: nous avons vraiment regretté de ne pouvoir profiter de la terrasse (il faisait encore un peu trop froid). A l'intérieur, on trouve tout ce qu'il faut pour passer une bonne étape, et tout est très propre. Le lit double est très mou, ce qui n'est pas forcément une critique, c'est une question de goût. L'endroit est très calme.

Lovely little B&B on a boat by the canal. When we arrived somewhat disheveled and hungry after a long hike to the property, the owner turned up with two plates of delicious Ethiopian food, completely out of the blue! The room were clean and the area looks very safe. Restaurants in walking distance.

There's a low ceiling (~180 cm) and I couldn't stand up straight. I had to sit down lots or stretch because my neck hurt.

Wir hatten es für eine Übernachtung auf einer Radtour gebucht. Dafür war die Unterkunft nett - halt mal was anderes, als ein steriles Hotelzimmer.

Zunächst mal WICHTIG: das ist KEIN B & B! Ich hatte es auch deswegen gebucht...und bestimmt doof geguckt, als kein Frühstück angeboten wurde! Es ist ein sehr kleines Appartment mit einer kleinen Küchenzeile. In der man aber nur stehen kann, wenn man kleiner als 1,70 m ist. Zum Glück haben wir nicht weit entfernt eine sehr gute Möglichkeit zum Frühstücken gefunden. Dafür braucht man aber ein Fahrrad oder ein Auto, zu Fuß ist es recht weit, da das Boot auf der gegenüberliegenden Kanalseite liegt.

Everything was great, such a cool experience to stay on Teddy's Boat, Rented his bike which was super helpful getting around plus He stayed up to greet us even though we got there after 12pm . Got a few pictures in the old timer too, Left us some beers in the fridge too which was 👌 I would 100% recommend a stay here

Nuestra experiencia hospedándonos en el barco fue maravillosa. Desde el primer momento, Teddy nos recibió con mucha amabilidad y cordialidad. Siempre estuvo muy atento a cada detalle. El barco estaba en perfectas condiciones, muy limpio y bien equipado, ideal para disfrutar de una estadía diferente y tranquila. Además, la ubicación es perfecta si quieres visitar Zaanse Schans y Zaandam, ya que queda muy cerca y es muy fácil llegar. Definitivamente volveríamos sin dudarlo. Gracias, Teddy, por hacer de nuestra estadía una experiencia tan especial.

Teddy est très accueillant et au petit soin. L'expérience de dormir dans la cabine d'une péniche est intéressante et correspond exactement à ce qu'on peut attendre.

Das Wohnschiff in Wormersveer war wirklich toll, der Kontakt zu Teddy,dem Vermieter sehr gut und die Begrüßung durch seine Schwester Kelly sehr lieb und lustig...wir haben die Tage an Bord sehr genossen.. Ausflug mit Auto nach Alkmaar und mit dem Zug in 20 Minuten nach Amsterdam Central...nach dem Tag in der übervollen Stadt war der sundowner an Deck wie auch das tägliche Frühstück ein echtes Highlight 👍👍wir empfehlen es gerne auch unseren Freunden und hoffen wieder einmal das Boot ⛵ erobern zu können

Alles war wirklich prima... Vielleicht als kleine Anregung...ein kleiner Toaster wäre super 😉

Deckenhöhe für Menschen ab 1,80 m zu niedrig, aber für ein Boot nicht ungewöhnlich.

It was a very special experience to stay on the boat. We had our private space which was decorated very nicely and inviting. The train station was in a walkable distance and it was super easy and fast to get to Amsterdam central station. The restaurants around town were nice too!

Teddy was a great host! He was very welcoming and was happy to help out with any questions we had.

Everything!!!! We knew we would love so I added a return for couple of more days and yes We loved it!!! Super cozy bed ...super cozy shower ...oh and Teddy and Moniek are the best hosts!! But The 2 darling cats tops!! :) I left in tears cos I loved them visiting us....a house with animals is a house of love! We will come back!! I will never forget! Wonderful !!!!!! :) The best!!

Location was amazing with deck views of the river and Batavia 1894 restaurant a very short walk away. Fun experience on a refurbished boat that is a little quirky (& if you like cats the red tabby brothers are the sweetest). Note: the owners live in front half of the boat.

Warm welcome by the owners who are very available too. Drinking morning coffee on the deck of the boat, in the sun and near the water, is definitely a priceless experience 😀 Comfy bed, everything clean. Hot water under a clean shower 😌 I really like when "what you see is what you get" which is definitely the case for this wonderful boat.

Nobody's fault but... when you measure 1m90 like I do, you need to prepare to keep your head or legs tilted to move around in the boat 😅 There's a very friendly & social cat who enjoys sleeping on the veranda. I love cats but not everyone does, so it might be a good idea to discuss "who will sleep where" upon arrival. Obviously isolation on an old boat is not great during winter time, despite the performant heating. But we were very comfy and warm under the sheets. Overall these are minor points that are outweighed by the absolute charm of the boat. Thanks ! 🥰

The space we rented is the old living quarter of the skipper on a vintage barge, including the wheelhouse, which is turned into a pleasant comfortable veranda. There is a nice living room and an intimate, comfortable bedroom, so pleasant to stay in. The view over the Zaan canal, to the old city is charming. One can park the car just in front of the gangway, which is a plus. We came to the Netherlands, especially for this barge and we did like it as an experience. The owners were so pleasant to deal with, always reachable on the phone and so helpful during our stay. Thank you for the wonderful time!

Nothing could be better, as we had a fantastic stay. Guests must consider the facility is uncomfortable for people taller than 1,73 m (5 feet 8 inches) as the ceiling is low. Although the stairs leading to the living room were all right for us, they could be difficult for people with walking problems.

Really incredible place! I expected it to be a "neat gimmick" but actually everything about it was fantastic (including the gimmick). Slept well, very comfortable normal bed, good shower, kitchenette is fine for a few days, location is both convenient for both car (free parking directly at the boat) and public transport. Lots of stuff within walking distance. Quiet. The outdoor "terrace" on the top of the boat is an amazing spot for eating and just hanging out. Absolutely loved our stay and wish we had spent longer. Apparently it is comfortable and warm when in winter - and there is a modern connected gas radiator in the living area. Checkin was great. The woman who checked us in (Teddy’s … sister?) was very friendly and also brought us beers and some fresh fruit. Really an outstanding stay. I wish we had spent all 3 days of our trip to North Holland here!
