Reviewed Jul 12, 2026The beds were very comfortable, there were electric blankets for warmth, and the air conditioner was great. The cherry on top was the smart TV, which was very important to my husband (he watches the world cup for football). Thank you so much for letting us stay!
The view from the window wasn't very nice, and the chairs in the kitchen were a bit cold.

Reviewed May 2, 2026Unit was very clean. Handy location only a short walk to town and only 10 minutes walk to Long Beach. Communication with the host was excellent and everything was easy. Very comfy bed. I'd stay again.
The winter duvet might have been changed a week too soon. Was a tad warm to sleep under.

4 adults staying but sofa only sat 3. Lounge / dining / kitchenette area was too small for number of guests staying, which meant ventilation of the unit became stuffy and hot. Small, opened windows didn't help with airflow much

Reviewed Oct 2, 2025Very close to Russell township. Everything we needed in one small space. Good to have the two double bedrooms at a reasonable price. A bonus to have an outside area to sit too when the weather is conductive although we didn’t have much time to use gad a busy weekend. Fantastic that the host allowed ys to check out later on the Sunday as we had a function sat night and it was also the first day of daylight saving. So really appreciated that.
Took me a bit to find the air con remote as air con was turned on upon our arrival Friday and was way too cold. Probably a good idea to leave on the table with tv remotes in future for easy access.

Reviewed Jul 21, 2025The apartment has all you need for an easy stay in Russell. Good parking, comfy beds, decent water pressure and a perfect location for a reasonable price.
It was a bit weird to have a fridge in a bedroom. We unplugged it as the hum was a problem at night. There was a lot of window condensation in the mornings, but it was winter so maybe expected?

The smell of the unit and the air pockets in the water taps just had to watch it as it would pop now and again shower took a little long to get hot slows down that could be because it’s on gas not sure other than that perfect unit has berthing in it like a motel and yes I’d stay there again

Reviewed Jan 21, 2025The apartment was impeccably clean and well serviced with soaps, shampoos, and enough towels for the stay period. We assumed we would be far away from the busier Paihia, but staying Russell was very nice. Very calm and family oriented. The apartment was close to the waterfront and some historical sites nearby, all within a walking distance (a few steep uphills).
The beds were just okay, and the living room furniture was not too sturdy, but it really didn't matter much. Russell doesn't have a friendly-priced supermarket, so make sure you do your groceries at the countdown in Waitangi before you cross with the ferry. It can be quite expensive to rely on the little waterfront market, with very few options.

Reviewed Nov 12, 2024Overall, this property was exceptional. I thought I had booked a basic apartment, considering the price - but the actual property was impeccable. Rooms were recently renovated, fully equiped and comfortable. Host instructions were clear and support when I needed it was amazing. Amenities were great, location was only a few hundred metres walk to waterfront and restaurants. Highly recommended for your stay in Russell. (NB stayed with 2adults, 2 children: apartment was small but perfect for our stay for a few days!)
