Magic Jardín Hostel - Patio, Balcony & Rooftop

The 4-bed room had only a small window facing the stairway, with very little natural light or ventilation. There was also a noticeable musty smell from the humidity, and the beds were quite short and seemed a bit warped. I ended up changing to a 6-bed room for the same price, which faced the backyard and was better. The shower was cold as well after waiting for >10 min. The hosts don’t speak English, which can make communication a little difficult if you don’t speak Spanish.

Staff were friendly and the location, despite being on the edge of the central town, was only a few minutes walk from the main square. Felt safe to walk to and from in the evenings as it was a weekend and many people were about. The size of the room was good. Very quite area and signs up in the hostel to request quiet during evening hours.

The bed was hard and uncomfortable and the shower was cold. The window opened on to the hallway rather than anywhere outside, so no fresh air. No aircon although a fan was provided.

Attention à demander une chambre qui ne donne pas directement sur l’escalier commun… En effet, Les chambres individuelles sont très humides et donnent sur le lieu de passage, donc soit vous aérez et on vous voit (voire on rentre chez vous car la fenêtre permet de rentrer juste en enjambant) soit vous restez dans l’humidité de votre chambre … sans parler du bruit. pour plus de 30€ la nuit, je trouve que le rapport qualité prix n’est pas dingue même à Jardin !

Comfortable bed, good location near the city center, good outdoor space

Be warned that the photos of the double room online are staged. The room window overlooks a sports ground, and has a balcony that is open to anyone, making the environment very noisy. We had two instances of people having a phone conversation on the balcony right outside our window (they were so close that we made eye contact as we were sitting on our bed inside the room... Very awkward). The price included breakfast which was okay (prepared by a staff member in the shared kitchen with other guests cooking around as there is no separate kitchen). However, the most surprising part was that, once the food was ready, we had to carry our plates back to our table outside and clean the dishes ourselves afterwards. At this level, it felt like a standard youth hostel experience but for the price of a boutique hotel.

Loved this Hostel! Kind staff, comfortable beds (including a warm blanket and a towel), warm showers, lots of space for relaxing in the hammocks and on the rooftop. In general, Jardín is an amazing place to visit!

Maybe add an outside sink (for brushing teeth), since there are few bathrooms and it can get crowded.

I had an amazing stay at Magic Jardin! I stayed 4 nights. The staff, Anderson and Adi are adorable. The shared kitchen and room were very clean and with everything needed. It is very close to th main plaza and Jardín is an exceptional place if you like hiking and nature. Thanks a lot!

Outside area is really beautiful, beds comfy and clean.

The dorm I slept in had a small window to a corridor without air circulation. So there literally was no air in the room to breathe.

Breakfast was good and it was different each day. Host was really friendly. We had the large front room overlooking the road and up to the mountain, which was really nice.

Water pressure in the showers is really poor.

Dorms smelled bad, bedsheets too. Everything was dirty (dorm, kitchen, bathrooms). One toilet didn’t even have a decent toilet seat. I saw just one cleaning lady, a place that size would have needed two in my opinion, to be able to keep this place clean. I booked 2 nights, but stayed only one. Not sure if they might have bedbugs - my body was covered with strange bites

Sehr nette Gastgeber, die mit Ausflugstipps halfen. Konnte mein Gepäck tagsüber dort lassen und auch noch einmal duschen nach der Wanderung, bevor es mit dem Bus weiter ging.

Die Anzahl an Toiletten und Duschen sind bei Vollbelegung knapp bemessen.

The other guests were friendly and made the stay more enjoyable

The roof leaked directly onto our bed during rain, which made sleeping uncomfortable. The bathroom had a strong sewage smell, making the room very unhygienic. When we reported these problems, staff refused to move us to another room (even though one was available) and offered no apology or solution. We felt ignored and disappointed by their lack of support. After we mentioned we would leave a negative review, our booking was flagged due to an inaccurate credit card issue. We were asked to update the details within 2 hours to avoid cancellation. Despite responding promptly, attempts to cancel the booking were made again at 2:00 AM and 4:00 AM, which would have prevented us from leaving feedback if we hadn’t acted quickly. Similar concerns have been mentioned by other guests in Google Reviews, who also reported cancellations that prevented them from sharing their experiences. Potential guests should be aware.

Der Mitarbeiter „Anderson“ war sehr zuvorkommen und sehr hilfsbereit. Man hat sich dort sehr wohl gefühlt.

Check in was a little painful, especially for none Spanish speakers but the staff were friendly and trying to help.

Gloria and anderson are so welcoming and friendly. The hostel has a football field across the road and i loved playing with the local kids. very clea, great kitchen and roof top.

Ruhig gelegenes Hostel in Jardin mit vielen Möglichkeiten sich auszuruhen. Es gab viele verschiedene Bereiche mit Liegen oder Hängematten, um zu entspannen. Tolle Dachterasse.

Etwas kleines Badezimmer, vor allem für große Personen war es etwas eng. Man konnte Getränke, die man auf der Dachterasse trinken wollte (externe Getränke verboten) nur mit einem online Bezahlsystem kaufen, was recht umständlich war. Wenig Personal vor Ort, alles online.

Easy to walk from anywhere to anywhere in this cute little town. The bathtub in the double room is ridiculously big and the water doesn’t really get hot enough to make it realistic. But the room was comfortable. Breakfast was delicious and a good quantity. It can be a bit noisy but it’s a hostel.

I really love the location because it"s on a quiet street but a 2 minute walk to everything. The terrace is very cute. The people who work here are great!

The host was very friendly and helpful. The location was perfect, few blocks from the main square but very quiet.

There is not a lot of light in the common areas, which makes it difficult to play (card) games or read a book in the evening.

There's a terrasse with a great view on the mountains and a projector to watch Netflix and YouTube. Additionally, there's a playground right outside with fitness equipment.

The top bunks in some rooms are a bit low, so bottom bunks don't have much space to sit.

It's a very chilled place, great location and spots to hang out. The room was comfortable.

The bathroom was quite outdated, noisy taps (very high whistling sound when water was running), no space to sit on the toilet. But for the price is was good!

Good rooms, nice equipped kitchen, free coffee, all in all I had a very good time! I would recommend this place, I think it’s the perfect mic between social and quiet hostel.

Great rooftop with self service bar. Nice hammocks to chill out in. Friendly staff. We had a private room which was very nice, clean and comfortable.

The hostel is only a few blocks away from the main square and in a calm area. The bed in the dorm was comfy. The breakfast was okay. They have a nice patio with hammocks. The second floor is much nicer and brighter than the first floor. The showers had warm water.

The dorm smelled really bad and mouldy although it had a window. We left the door open during night to have a little of fresh air. However, I tried to stay as little as possible in the room. Also, there were only two bathrooms downstairs of which one was very basic, didn't have a shower curtain and the sink was outside but looked more like a sink to wash clothes. All in all, I think the hostel has potential but needs a little more of maintenance.

Magic Jardin is located in a quiet and safe area just minutes away from the centre of town. The rooms are spacious and the bedding is comfortable and of a high quality. The hostel boats a large number of spaces to relax - whether it's the rooftop terrace, outdoor seating in the garden, or even hammocks scattered throughout the premises. Both the breakfast and complimentary coffee 24/7 were a nice touch and greatly appreciated. The hostel staff went above and beyond in assisting me with food and transportation recommendations - even making me breakfast to go when I had an early bus ride, and they were always contactable in person or via WhatsApp. I would certainly stay here again.

Nothing frivolous nor contrived about the place. It's a solid hostel for the price. It's nice that they have electronic entry, so I can get in the hostel at any time of the day without having to buzz in. The location is great. It gives you access to the town but also enough separation from the bars and noise. You also get an unobstructed view of the mountains from the patio. Alex and Asusena- the 2 personnel- are great.

Staff, location and facilities were all great. The rooftop is really nice and there’s plenty of outdoor space.

I loved everything about my stay. It felt just like home ! The beds are comfortable, the kitchen is super equipped, the rooftop has amazing views (best spot in town to watch the sun set!), it’s well located, and above all, the staff is wonderfull !

If you are above 185 cm you wouldn’t fit in the bed, expect to leave with neck pain. Electric wire to the shower head on a wet steal pipe

Alex the manager / owner is amazing! I was unfortunate to lose my wallet and bank cards and he helped me so much where he could!! The property is brilliant, terrace is great for evening drinks and playing music and the patio area on ground floor is a bit quieter featuring hammocks to chill out on

This hostel was a last resort so I am glad it was available. The breakfast was included. I liked the electronic key. The bed has lock luggage underneath.

This place was more warn than the other hostel I stayed at. The lady serving breakfast had a bad attitude. The beds were not very comfortable. I could tell my room was damp and smelly but they covered it up with fragrance. The bathrooms have a slit where you can see inside (very odd). This place should be no more than $8.

The lady who takes care of the breakfast has a very, very bad attitude. She scolded us because we were asking for breakfast at 8:55. Breakfast is served in a very short time span from 8-9. Also she the breakfast for 20 min at the encounter without telling us it’s ready, so it was cold. She also screamed at me because I asked for another coffee (coffee is the whole day for free). Kind of ruined my stay there and didn’t make me feel welcomed. The guy at the reception, Alex is the opposite very nice, friendly and helpful! Otherwise a pretty average hostel.

The lady was super helpful and helped us to organise transport to Salento.

It’s very noisy and echo. You can hear everyone coming and going. Also there’s not much of an atmosphere in the hostel.

It might be the best option in Jardín. It is at the edge and there is a nice view from the roof top terrace. Was able to do some laundry. Coffee always available and good! Court yard had nice eating area. Hammocks not comfy and cramped in between the tables. We connected well to the staff and since we stayed longer were also given a good service. When we asked for take away breakfast for the day we would leave early we were taken care of very well.

The rooms are dark and if windows they are small and to the inside. No shelf. Not one. Just one hook each at the bed. No comfy seating really. Takes locals. So can get busy, also little children. Smokers felt free to smoke at any time everywhere . No cooking equipment really. Worst: breakfast only from 8-9 . That’s not feasible, particularly since you can not use the kitchen during those hours. They have a kind of bar on the roof and 2 plastic hot tubs that they were settinggup. Nothing I need, but that is my personal liking

The room has a window in the corridor.

The location is only a few minutes from the center, the staff is very kind, each bed has a light and a plug to charge. The guest kitchen has everything and it's easy to socialise and find other people to go on a hike altogether. There is also a jacuzzi on the rooftop that is open during the evening but I didn't try it.

Breafast served very late - shpuld start at 8am and was even later than this. When going hiking 8am os a bit late. Would be nice to have an option of breakfas from 7am :-)

Very nice place in the outskirts of Jardín. Very nice common areas and rooftop where you can hang out. Good breakfast. Friendly staff - especially the boy who gave several tips and recommendations. Bathrooms good.

The lockers in the room were very smelly and I didn’t want to put my bag in it. But that was the only negative thing.
