The cottage was amazing. The lake views top notch. Craig was amazing host. Taking me on a tour with his boat. The hospitality was amazing. I recommend this place. Just the road from main road to cottage is gravel . Requires a high car rather than low cars . But overall rhis a 10

It was an amazing venue, safe, clean and beautiful the pictures don’t do it justice. Amazing views, scenery . Amazing hosts, very welcoming and communicated extremely well and pro actively. Craig and Troya were awesome. Everything you need for a great stay is there. I will definitely book for a longer stay next time.

The place felt warm and welcoming, and was exceptionally clean. The owners clearly went the extra mile to make sure we had everything we needed. The host was lovely—friendly and very accommodating throughout our stay. Will deft visit again.

The owners were exceptionally friendly and welcoming, creating a warm atmosphere that made every guest feel at home. Their genuine smiles and open demeanor instantly set the tone for a pleasant experience.

Despite the overwhelming presence of insects, we thoroughly enjoyed our time there.

The location was absolutely beautiful. Right on the side of the dam on the remote side of the Vaal. Be warned that there are no shops around and that the its very secluded and peaceful!

Absolutely tranquil and peaceful. Great fishing spot and the cottage itself has modern amenities and is quite homey. They were stocked with quite a few helpful things like clingwrap and cleaning supplies. The hosts was kind and helpful.

The road to get there is about 10kms of dirt road. The bathtub didn't have a hand shower (the actual shower is outdoors)

The comfort of the cosy cottage. Peace and serenity of the area.Waterfront on our doorstep. Awesome fishing. Hospitality of the awesome collies 🥰 And the awesome hosts Troya and Craig who were very accommodating to last minute requests, and amazingly hospitable. Wished we could have stayed longer.

We had an awesome weekend, the unit was spotless, right on the water. Stunning outdoor shower. Braai and bonfire area with the dam as your view. Not too far from JHB. Incredibly safe, comfortable and we had great fishing as well.

The fact that we were only there for a weekend. Could have spent a few more days but we'll be back.

Cottage is private, very comfortable with everything you need and well done up. The dam right on your doorstep. A great place to unwind. The hosts are very accommodating and welcoming. Our new favorite place at the Vaal.

Fantastic location with the Vaal Dam right on your doorstep. The hosts are extremely friendly and helpful. The WiFi is really good for streaming and/or remote work. Highly Recommend the place !

Cute little cottage a stone throw away from the dam - perfect fishing spot and amazing sunsets. We loved the outdoor shower. The dogs were especially adorable and kept us company the whole time. The hosts were warm, friendly and welcoming.

The owner really taught me how to fish and he was very patient and welcoming...I would go there again...

The dirt road leading towards the property can be challenging in a lowered vehicle

The owners provided even more than the booking described. Even headache powders, plasters, and even basic spices, etc. They allowed us our privacy while also checking in on us daily to ensure that we are satisfied. They were also very accommodating to us, wanting to stay a little longer to fish. We will definitely come back next year!

I honestly can not find anything wrong with the stay we had. the only issue is the main road leading to the property.

Location very good and enjoyed the fishing.

Everything, the hosts, the location, the views, the sea, the facilities, the safety, the comfort, the sunset, the sunrise, the fishing, the kayaking, the bath with a view, the outdoor shower with a view. This place is truly a hidden gem and don’t even get me started on Craig and Troya. Where to even start? I’ll just say this, Craig’s cappucino and Troyas Pecan biscuits are enough to win you over. Never mind their hospitality.

The fact that after staying there, you don’t want to leave

Beautiful property with a lovely bathroom and outdoor shower. The view of the Vaal river while taking a shower is beautiful as well. Had a great stay !

Incredible stay, highly recommend! The cottage was absolutely beautiful, clean and fully equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable, enjoyable stay. It was a peaceful getaway with great fishing and beautiful views. Troya and Craig went above and beyond to make sure that we were well taken care of throughout our stay. We will definitely be back.

Loved everything

This is a true hidden Gem on the Vaaldam . The owners are amazing people and will go out of their way to make you feel at home. The fishing was fantastic! The cottage is modern and the Finnishes are better than most 5 star hotels. I will definitely book another trip and take my wife along as this is an amazing place for a romantic get away .
