Beach Front Oasis - Catlins, Jacks Bay

Location was fabulous - the beach shack was very well appointed and tastefully created. A lovely little beach haven

Very small - too small to put anything so that was a bit tricky - especially when trying to cook and use the tiny kitchen.

Location is perfect. It’s a tiny house but has everything you could need and more. The bubbles and snacks were a lovely addition, as are the binoculars so you could watch for sealions and other wildlife.

The mattress was too soft. Also a little ledge would be great for whoever has to sleep against the wall, as there was no where to put your phone.

The location was simply beautiful and next to the beach. It was cozy and had everything you’d need for a night stay over.

The remoteness, the cool bach vibe, the bubbles & dip, being able to sit outside or inside and enjoy the view.

This Tiny home is in a beautiful location. It’s decorated very nicely. The view is stunning

This home is a bit remote so you need to understand that you will drive down some gravel roads to get here.

The place was a perfect hideaway and the hosts thought of everything, from leaving a bottle of bubbles, chips & dip, to torches to borrow for the walk to Jacks blowhole. Was very relaxing

Everything. Especially the views of the beach and sea lions. Having breakfast on the deck. Probably in top 3 of our stays while travelling as round NZ

We didn't see any penguins, so we shall have to return on our next trip to NZ

An absolutely beautiful spot and fabulous little studio. Attention to detail was fantastic and everything you could need for a lovely stay was at hand. The fizz and chips and dip were a lovely touch 🥰

Amazing location, right on the beach - waking up to watch the waves was wonderful. Really peaceful and private. Nice and cozy even on a cold evening. Lovely comfortable bed.

Absolutely fantastic little gem for a couple's getaway! The location and scenery is spectacular. Loved Jack's bay so much. Very quiet and serene at night. Lots of little touches made the stay special - matching and tastefully picked out crockery and cutlery, sharp knives, very comfortable bed with quality linen. Even chip and dip with a bottle of cold bubbles on arrival! Bbq clean and with all the accoutrements - even cleaning wipes. They have thought of everything!! Thank you so much!!

Great location, had all the facilities and amenities we needed! Was skeptical about heating during the month (June) that we stayed but 1 heater going was great! Chip/Dip and wine was a lovely touch!

Wonderful location, beautiful sunrises, great deck overlooking the beach.

It’s tiny. Great big bed, but one side up against the wall.

This place is compact! If you need room, or a sofa, this will not work.

We had a great time in Jack's Bay. Lovely location, so peaceful. The owners are easy going and respond quickly

Great location right on the beach. Cute little pod. Very clean. Very sunny.

Bed was right up against the wall which made it difficult to get in and out. Perhaps consider turning it around? Also a mirror in the bathroom would be useful

Directions to the property and the location of the lock box along with the code were all sent to my phone via the app and an email on the morning of our stay. The picture showing the location of the lock box was also particularly handy.

Our neighbours were playing music loud both nights which we could hear the base of but it wasn't loud enough for us to go an knock and ask them to turn it down or to be too worried so it was only a little thing and it didn't stop us falling asleep.

Fabulous spot - as per the pictures. A real sun trap - could sit out all day. Sealions on beach! BBQ and fire pit

Quirky little cabin on an amazing bay. Path to the blow hole goes from the back of the cabin and walks to the beach right outside the front door.

Our stay was slightly spoiled by kids riding noisy dirt motorbikes up and down the beach and up and down the track next to the cabin. This included riding very near to a sea lion resting on the beach and in the evening when we hoped to see penguins. This felt very incongruous to the exceptionally peaceful setting and to the wildlife that Dept of Conservation is so keen to protect.
