Reviewed Sep 10, 2026Das Hotel strahlt in seiner Gesamtheit ein Höchstmaß an Ruhe und Geborgenheit aus. Das Zimmer im dezenten alpinen Stil ist überraschend gross und sehr geräumig. Das Restaurant bietet eine sehr gute regionale Küche und eine erstaunliche Weinkarte: ein herzliches Dankeschön an die hochkompetente Servierdame! Das Frühstück ist umfangreich, auch hier ein herzliches Dankeschön an die aufmerksame und freundliche Dame der "Frühschicht".

Reviewed Jul 24, 2026Fantastic stay at this hotel for one night, whilst walking the Via Alpina. Rather than staying in Altdorf, we hiked to the lower cable car station (which is just off the Via Alpina Route) and took the cable car up for the night. The hotel is right next to the upper cable car station, with lovely views of the mountains. It is a small hotel, recently renovated. We received a very warm welcome and the rooms were small but beautifully presented. We had a lovely meal in the restaurant that night - simple but tasty fare (Swiss traditional food, burgers etc). There was a buffet breakfast in the morning which was small but good.

Reviewed May 29, 2026We had had a wonderful stay at the Alphotel Biel-Kinzig. The hotel is renovated, the rooms are very clean with a wonderful view. The beds are comfortable and the showers are great (not always the case when you’re in the Alps!). There are great hiking routes with panoramic views and small restaurants along the way. Truly a hidden gem with very few tourists.
Everything was fantastic! Don’t expect gourmet food at the restaurant, the menu is basic but the food is good. The breakfast buffet is also simple. But that is normal in the Alps and belongs to the charm!

Reviewed Sep 15, 2025Prachtig hotel met een fantastische ligging. Eén van de mooiste plekken in top of the world! Heel ruime kamer met ruim bed en heerlijke comfortabele stoelen. Je kan er prima mee eten tegen redelijke prijzen. Geef op je Google maps de locatie van de kabelbaan in en niet hotel. Ook als de kabelbaan niet wordt beheerd kan je zelf hem bedienen werkt prima.
Een eitje bij het ontbijt zou fijn zijn….

Reviewed Sep 14, 2025Nous avons passé un superbe moment, la literie est superbe, la vue est à coupé le souffle, la nourriture est familiale et très bonne et le personnel est vraiment très gentil. Nous y reviendrons, c’est certain! Il y a beaucoup de chemin de randonne au départ de l’hôtel et les télécabines passent toutes les 20 minutes !

Reviewed Sep 5, 2025Sehr schönes Berghotel, mit toller Aussicht. Einrichtung ist neu und sehr sauber. Die fahrt mit der Seilbahn zum Hotel ist ein sehr schönes Erlebnis für jung und alt. Es ist eine sehr schöner Startpunkt für Wanderung. Das Preis-Leistungs Verhältnis ist unschlagbar. Ich würde das Hotel weiterempfehlen.

Reviewed Aug 19, 2025Fantastic location, right off the upper station of the cable car. Lots of easy and difficult hikes around that location. Great breakfast, also had a nice dinner here. People working here were super nice. Do NOT follow Google directions to the hotel, instead drive to Biel-Kinzig AG, which will get you to the lower station of the cable car. If there is no-one at the station, just push the button and they'll help you - unusual for Americans to have self service gondolas, but works well.

Reviewed Jul 6, 2025Beautiful view. Remote location which is very nice but there is nothing up there. So be sure to eat/ etc before you go up the cable car. Check cable car schedule and plan ahead to get down the mountain. Take cash. Breakfast starts at 8, no earlier!

الوصول له عن طريق التليفريك ولم يوضحون ذلك اثناء الحجز وتدفع تكاليف التليفريك ما يقارب 60 فرنك وصلت الى الفندق بالسياره واتضح انه لا يوجد مواقف ورجعت الى اسفل الجبل مشوار نصف ساعه للطلوع ونصف ساعه للنزول واصناف الافطار محدوده جدا

Reviewed May 15, 2025Breakfast was excellent as well as the location. Right next to the gondola stop and in the middle of various nice hiking trails. Due to the fact it was still early season for hiking not all trails were fully accesible but that will be soon. People were very forthcoming in their service. The place smelled still of fresh paint as if it had only opened last week. The room was spacious, great view towards the mountains and the shower worked perfect. What I also liked was the fact there was no TV and some little surprises as you enter the room. I will not disclose as it takes the fun out of it.
I would have wished the menu options would have been a bit bigger. Choice was limited but given location I can understand they do not keep a big card.

Wieso man die beiden Matratzen nicht zu einem echten Doppelbett mit einem Leintuch verbindet, kann ich beim besten willen nicht verstehen. Zumal die Matratzen ständig auseinander rutschen. Genervt hat uns auch, dass die helle Außenbeleuchtung des Hauses, die eigentlich wunderschöne Morgenstimmung im Zimmer ab 5:00 Uhr früh zerstört hat. Sich am Morgen vom natürlichen Licht wecken lassen, ist dadurch nicht möglich. Das Essen im Restaurant ist eher Basic.
