Really nice view of the river and what was essentially a private balcony.
Nothing
The location was absolutely perfect—peaceful riverside views with a refreshing breeze, yet close enough to explore the beaches and nightlife of Goa. The hosts were incredibly welcoming and made us feel right at home. The rooms were clean, spacious, and tastefully decorated, with all necessary amenities provided. The homestay had a very cozy and European vibe, and the attention to detail in the decor was impressive. We especially loved relaxing on the patio in the mornings with a coffee while watching the river.
Mr Amitava was very prompt, helpful and informative, Sneha the manager was also very good getting us to know about the facilities at the property gave us good information about the restaurants for food. Very good property and location.
It's just in little narrow lane and the shops are bit far.
The owner is very friendly and helped us a lot with our stay. He gave us new insights about the place. The executive who attended us was also very helpful
Awesome host and purely safety and private , host is really very good and also gave me a wine bottle as a gift amazing hospitality.
Very short repeat visit Really liked the place Very Comfortable and the village is very nice Will soon come back for a whole week Excellent support staff
Four nice apartments that are well maintained and well cleaned. To each apartment a large terrace. From the two apartments on second floor view to the river. Of the staff Miss Alfiya and Mr. Illyas are very serviceminded and helpful. Friendly owner family (living at ground floor).
Terrible NOISE.... from dogs (two dogs at neighbour house and one dog at house just opposite making noise around the clock), noise from two nearby temples (from the nearest one every Friday afternoon and evening until 9 pm and from the other one when festival from late afternoon until midnight and sometimes even until around 4 am), noise from the road just below (worst from heavy motorcycles but also from scooters, cars and some busses and trucks), and noise from construction work going on on the very same building and/or on nearby buildings. Sadly, the noise makes it most of the time impossible to talk normally on the terrace and prevent you from doing remote work with phone and video calls. Booking was done 'included breakfast' and then I (and other I spoke with) would expect breakfast is served, but that's not the case. Instead, after several discussions with Mr. Majumdar, I every fifth day got delivered a package of brown toast bread and one piece of cheese (200 gram) and during my stay two times got 6 eggs - and the rest I bought my self. Also, some services and facilities mentioned on Booking.com should be adjusted according to reality. Mr. Majumdar is kind as long as you praise the homestay and him, but if you raise any issues or question something he doesn't like, his attitude changes and he then doesn't listen or even starts blaiming you (for example that you just don't understand Indian culture) or even also shout at you (that will probably also appear from his reply to this review). If less noise at the place, my overall rating would have been 8.
The Bhajan from the temple is very nice and soothing. The village is beautiful and quiet even though there is some traffic during the day. It is very near nice restaurants and supermarkets.
Everything was just perfect: The Host, His Team of two, always available, very responsive and ever so courteous. The Location of the property was what I was looking forward to: in the midst of the Goan village, serene, green and calming! The Chapora River was a stone's throw away which added to the unique charm of the property. While at the property I was reminded of a couplet by Amir Khusro which roughly translated in English means if there is a paradise on earth, it is this, it is this, it is this. Next time, when city life becomes too difficult to bare, I am going to seek refuge here
I am scratching my head on this one but really couldnt find any fault with the property per-se. However, the premises next door, on which the Host and his Team have no control could have been more tidy. Parking could have been more spacious.
Very clean, well furnished and great view of the river. Excellent and caring service. The stocked fridge was an added bonus.
Nothing, everything was excellent.
I really liked the location. Next to the river, could come out and have my morning chai while staring at the calming river. Came with my wife and the size of the apartment too was perfect for us and close to all the cool spots around siolim
Friendly Homestay experience, nice and clean rooms...nice view from the top. Owner was very responsive and had been checking continuously about our needs and what better can be done. Overall a nice experience. 👌
Good location if u r planning to do something at baga ,anjuna ,vagator etc. True value for money ,the team did it's best to keep us comfortable..Bread butter eggs are stocked,so serves well for quick breakfast and other emergencies.webhad some small issues beginning but the team pitched in strongly to correct and resolve.Mr Amitava and Sneha supported well ,it's one thing to have a problem but swift action and monitoring to make us comfortable is a real indication that the property is in good hands ,kudos to them.
Parking slot to be made exclusive and available through out the stay. But then the action was taken immediately as well ,I could see the parking boundary made with plant pots, good work. Also a more softer bed would be more comfortable, just an improvement
Congested Parking facilities No elevator So luggage carrying is difficult City is at least 2km far Need to have own vehicle
Great location on the Chapora River in an untouched Goan village. Excellent amenities. Brilliant view of the river and greenery all around. Very helpful and efficient executives. Will definitely return for a longer stay.
The stay was awesome and the property owner had all ears to listen to us.
Na
Location, service, privacy
There is a temple nearby. Since we visited around Diwali, there were bhajans playing on loudspeaker almost all day
What not!!! Everything is good here. Property owner is awesome. Really love this place.
Nothing to dislike
Stayed at this charming home in Siolim , and I had a exceptional experience! The location was good, with a stunning riverview.. not only nestled in a serene area, also close to local attractions, supermarkets and restaurants. The staff were incredibly welcoming, attentive, super super friendly and understanding, always made sure all my needs were met. The room was super clean, cozy and elegant with all the necessary amenities, moreee specifically the first aid kit and a fridge loaded with a few edibles, pretty much something I've never come across! Overall, I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a comfortable and memorable stay in northern Goa. I can't wait to return!
It was like a home away from home. They have taken care of all the basics needed at homestay. Local market is nearby only. Plus the host helped us in arranging the local transportation which was super.
Thanks to Mr. Majumdar and Miss Sneha for your hospitality. From my experience of 13 vacations in goa Riverside, The European Homestay( yes i copy pasted the name) is the best accommodation ever. p.s: i stayed in variety of places from basic tent type lame huts on the anjuna beach to cidade and exotic of taj. But this homestay hits you different, right from start the caretaker was enquiring and offering route suggestions about my journey to the goa(by car). The check in: no nonsense,no lobby to make you wait, no need to provide your identification while waiting for room , INSTEAD after reaching the location you pick the key from your safe box, and get into your stay. Along with great bedroom there was also this 2 in 1 couch for impromptu activities, Then an as usual eggs(organic and Omega rich variant) , bread , butter and jam along with a mini kitchen with toaster, induction, electric kettle, and fridge. Btw got a pretty good port wine too
That i didn't stay here during my earlier visits
The property was clean and things were working fine. Staff was supportive but at times they used to reply late to the queries but still were responsive. There was interference of any sort and peaceful.
Nothing major, just that response can be quick for queries after checkin.
10-08-24 we stayed here for 2 nights The best home stay in North Goa, if you want a complete piece of mind then this is the best place to be. The host is an absolute gem of a person . We were given complementary breakfast and other essential items for our stay, the rooms are big enough to accommodate 3 people in a room.and the best part Is it's nearby to the UDDO beach which has a beautiful sunset to enjoy. I would really recommend people to come here and enjoy the home stay and the hospitality here. Cheers 🥂
The facilities and nature of the owner were excellent.
The description on booking.com was not on the mark. It was of single bedroom while booking.com mentioned 2 bedrooms. So we have to spend twice.
Peaceful location. Great lake view.
This place is not what it is portrayed as on booking.com.There is no hot water in the shower, water leakage near the living room window, which was never fixed or even looked into by the host Amitava Majumdar Also, there's no daily cleaning as they are marketing on booking.com. Upon addressing these maintenence issues, the host Amitava Majumdar kept on claiming that we were cheap for asking for free things (which was advertised in booking.com such as breakfast, water, coffee, tea and cleaning) he asked us why can't we buy it ourselves, abused and threatened to kick us out of Goa and asked us to vacate the room immediately in the middle of the night. A terrifying experience. He also threatened that he would find us wherever we were and cause problems for us. Seriously, I never faced threats like this. My family was also horrified after this! Booking.com you need to stop accepting hosts like this.
The host was prompt and quick in communicating. Also, he was generous with snacks, water, tea, coffee, sugar, milk powder, toffees, bread, eggs, butter, not sure if I have forgotten something. The kitchen had cutlery and crockery if one wanted to cook a meal, and a toaster, water kettle and induction stove.
There was no one to help at all with the luggage. No one physically present. If it were not for my son, my husband and I would have been waiting, for someone to come and help us, as we both had health issues, and could not carry luggage to the second floor on narrow steps. Also, the master bed was too small for 2 adults to sleep on. Lastly, no washing machine or even clothes line, like other home stays to wash/ dry clothes for a long stay.
Nobody was around, keys were nowhere. It is a hard second floor apartment, very steep stairs and there was no water as mentioned by the owner that it is inside the house.
The sofa was filthy, bed had hair and there was a nasty smoke smell inside. The bed is so small that only a child can sleep,it is not for an adult. We called the owner about the dirt, spider webs hanging and he started shouting that we are saying this to go away from the property. The entire night he called and threatened us.Ultimately we paid him 15000 and didn't get refund but couldn't stay in a property that was so dirty that my husband had severe asthma attack,we finally checked into another property and saved ourselves from trauma. The owner told us he has sold the property to another customer and we can vacate. He refused to refund and threatened us that he will harm our child and us if we do any complaint. This was one of the first terrible experiences of our lives in Goa.Goans are extremely warm and kind people, the neighbors and cleaner also complained about the owner.Another guest who was in the next door apartment also had similar story to tell-greedy neighbor, dirty apartment and endless threatening phone calls for money
everything, this place meet all my check boxes
....
Moth balls in the drawers and even behind the fridge. Very pungent.
Responsive host irrespective of time when you need help, cleanliness of the house, well equipped with basic kitchen amenities and calm surroundings.
No Parking space available at times. Exhaust in the bathroom would have been good.
This place is great , in a quiet area , big space , everything you need to stay a bit longer. Kitchen with fridge kettle toaster you can even cook if you want there is dishes... they also provide some free food (magie noodles, eggs, water, tea, coffee, sugar ... bread , biscuits... 😁 . The living room is nice with two sofa (one is bed convertible) , the bedroom and a bathroom ... there is also a nice big balcony terrace in front from where you can see the river and some palm trees 🙂 the staff is very helpful and always want to help if its need . Thank you 🙏🏽
The bed in the bedroom is maybe not big enough and the mattress was hard... but still we sleep well 🙂
Amazing view from the balcony, super clean and extremely attentive host. Would highly recommend!
- The room was stocked with provisions that were complimentary (eggs, cheese, bread and butter). So a random snack didn't need us stepping out. Pretty unique to other b&bs - The location is pretty close to several fine-dine restaurants as well as lesser-known beaches. There are opportunities for kayaking in the river. - The staff was kind enough to send us a long list of activities that we could try while we were staying there. - Pet friendly place. This was the main reason we decided to live here.
- Housecleaning is to be done separately and sometimes that is harder to plan (as opposed to a daily house clean or a hotel) - No provision for laundry (for longer stays) - Parking is a little problematic given the small lanes and number of residential cars around. - Walking your pet could be a little problematic because there are too many strays too.
