Fantastic rooms. All furnishings complement each other and the theme continues throughout the inn. A good menu to choose from and between the four of us, we all enjoyed our selections.

Room was a bit too warm. I believe you can get a fan from reception.

The staff were brilliant, hotel was very clean, lovely decor, comfortable and good location.

This was our second visit and as before, we couldn’t fault a thing The rooms are very nicely decorated, clean, warm and comfortable The food at both dinner and breakfast was very good although some fruit at breakfast wouid have been nice ( there were some tired looking apples) All the staff were very friendly, courteous and helpful, particularly Jude on reception

The cleanliness .

The lasagne was overcooked dry no flavour no meat or sauce and over priced. The staff not informative and we felt very uncomfortable when there was an autocatiin between customers at breakfast. When an elderly man turned on a 2 year old using foul language towards her . No staff stepped in . It was awful. Nothing is provided to let you know what is around to visit or where else to eat. We will not be back and won't be recommending this place .

Wir haben es für eine Nacht zur Durchreise gebucht. Der Empfang war sehr herzlich und das gesamte Team war sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Die Zimmer sind perfekt und sehr sauber. Das Essen am Abend und die Auswahl beim Frühstück waren perfekt. Vielen Dank für diesen wunderbaren Aufenthalt.

well designed hotel/pub, a wedding reception was on while we were there but we did not hear any of it, good food and service, spotless room. Room was hot to sleep in but had been a warm day

De 2de avond en dag erna was er geen warm water ivm gas problemen. Voor het avondeten was ook niet alles verkrijgbaar, begrijpelijk maar een kleine attentie was netjes geweest. Het was erg warm en een douche 's avonds en 's ochtends was meer dan fijn geweest.

The rooms are very clean, good size and very comfy beds, only here for one night but no complaints whatsoever.Nice tray of tea, coffee,hot chocolate and biscuits plus mini bars of chocolate in the rooms.lovely bathrooms too

It was a very relaxing place to stay despite it being so close to the M1. Staff really made the difference. Room very comfortable, to a high standard and immaculately clean. Enjoyed the bar and dining - nice Specials selection.

You can’t help but be reminded in the background that it is situated in a busy interchange area. You don’t feel that inside though.

The rooms were quiet and away from the bar area. There was ample parking. There was a bar and restaurant.

The room was over priced even though breakfast was included. WiFi was a bit suspect at times. Pillows were too soft. Too far from anywhere to walk to.

The location was spot on. Close to the motorway network. Parking was excellent with floodlights in darker hours. Meals were fresh, well cooked, and well presented. We stayed in room 1, ideal for someone with limited mobility. There is one set of 6 steep stairs up to the room level from reception. There was a small lift to overcome these, however, this was out of order at the time of our visit. The room was spacious with everything you may need. Wardrobe, desk, bedside tables, and two chairs. A large tv, and a good selection of tea and coffee. Iron and board, and a fan. There were more than ample power sockets, all with USB Sockets. The bed was large, and comfortable with good quality bedding. The bathroom was well equipped, and sported a walk in shower with fixed shower chair. All were scrupulously clean. There was also a pull alarm cord. Overall we enjoyed our stay. The JEWEL IN THE CROWN, were the staff. All of them from reception, bar staff, waitresses, in fact, Any member of staff i spoke to was polite and with a pleasant manner. All were good Ambassadors for the chain they work for.

Only one small thing. Toilet paper. Yes i know... However, the question was asked. The paper was the sort you get in public, and store toilets. Rough, and of a size not much bigger than a postage stamp.....obviously, the sheets were bigger than that, but you get my drift. It was a surprise, as everything else was so perfect.

Spotlessly clean room, very comfortable bed and a delicious breakfast! We had lunch on arrival which was very tasty and all of the staff are so friendly and helpful.

The room was comfortable, cosy and spotlessly clean. I loved the decor and fixtures and fittings were all tasteful and practical. The shower was great and the bed really comfortable. It was really hot weather when we visited but the staff had even left us a fan which was very appreciated.

The location for where we needed to be was good. The shower/bathroom was good.

We saw that the room was quite dusty when we arrived. The food was not as good as we were expecting so it was quite disappointing after reading positive reviews.

Very comfortable accessible room and the wet room was fantastic - so many grab rails there was no possibility of my falling over. The staff were very helpful with my luggage

Too many steps to be truly accessible - the lift must be replaced as soon as possible. I understood from one of the staff that it was awaiting yet another repair!

It’s a great location for the village for when we visit family.

We’ve been staying at The Red lion since 2016. It’s always been great but this stay was disappointing. The breakfast was bland, scrambled egg tasteless and neither me or my husband ate our meals. No fruit to add to the yogurt just whole apples and bananas. Who wants to faff with that. Where were the strawberries, raspberries etc… Lazy and cheap. We had one towel between us. I went to reception 3 times but there was no one there. I eventually rang the out of hours number provided but no answer. I left a message. It was ignored so we had to share a towel. We don’t even do that at home!!! Shoddy service. When I spoke to reception the next morning her response was ‘ oh we’d give you a free breakfast but as you’ve already paid there’s nothing we can do’ Unbelievable. We won’t be returning. Poor food, poor service and a dark room with a view of a hedge. ( room 11… avoid!!)

Rooms are very hot, the Red Lion does provide each room with a fan to compensate for how hot the rooms get.

We’ve stayed here many times before.we come back because we know that the rooms (upgraded) staff and food are good.

A beautiful room...clean and comfortable and attractive.

The chef doesn't know how to cooka rare sirloin ! The grill /griddle/pan whatever was not hot enough. The steak was an unappetising grey colour...no caramelization/ charring on the outside which greatly enhances the flavour. A much hotter surface would still have allowed the steak to be served RARE...which it was not!! And not seasoned before service. Very below average !!

The food is good quality and choice , the staff are very freindly. Of us it is in a good location.

Fabulous place to stay overnight on a long journey. Friendly staff, good food, quiet and comfy room which was well stocked with a big range coffee & tea & biscuits. Beautiful decor & very clean. Excellent full English breakfast, with a continental breakfast option. Staff attentive, without being intrusive.
