Al estar tan rodeado de naturaleza, teníamos que luchar contra los mosquitos, pero compramos un spray y solucionado!

Vanessa ist eine äußerst herzliche und sympathische Gastgeberin, die sich mit viel Engagement und Liebe um das Wohl ihrer Gäste kümmert. Ihre Hilfsbereitschaft und persönliche Betreuung haben unseren Aufenthalt besonders angenehm gemacht. Die Lodge war sehr sauber, geschmackvoll eingerichtet und mit viel Liebe zum Detail gestaltet. Jeden Morgen wurde uns ein frisches Frühstück direkt zur Lodge gebracht, was den Aufenthalt zusätzlich aufgewertet hat. Wir haben uns rundum wohlgefühlt und können diese Unterkunft uneingeschränkt weiterempfehlen.

Die Lage der Lodge ist etwas außerhalb aber man kann alles super mit dem Auto von dort erreichen.

Wir hatten einen schönen Aufenthalt in dieser Unterkunft. Die Unterkunft selbst ist sehr sauber, geschmackvoll eingerichtet und es ist wirklich alles vorhanden, was man für einen entspannten Urlaub braucht. Besonders genossen haben wir es, morgens auf der Terrasse zu frühstücken. Ein ganz besonderes Lob gilt der Gastgeberin Vanessa. Sie ist eine unglaublich herzliche und hilfsbereite Person, die uns direkt zu Beginn unserer Reise mit vielen wertvollen Tipps versorgt hat – von Ausflügen über Sehenswürdigkeiten bis hin zu echten Geheimtipps auf Mauritius. Über sie haben wir auch eine Schnorcheltour gebucht, die definitiv das absolute Highlight unseres Urlaubs war. Delfine und Meeresschildkröten in freier Natur zu sehen, war einfach unvergesslich. Ein weiteres Highlight war die gemeinsame Tour mit Vanessa durch die Hauptstadt Port Louis. Die Führung war sehr interessant, persönlich und mit viel Liebe zum Detail gestaltet – absolut empfehlenswert! Insgesamt war unser Aufenthalt einfach traumhaft. Die Kombination aus der Unterkunft und der außergewöhnlich herzlichen Betreuung durch Vanessa hat diesen Urlaub für uns zu etwas ganz Besonderem gemacht!

Bei unserem Aufenthalt gab es nichts auszusetzen.

I would not stay here again. Please be cautious. The owner has a very strong personality, and unfortunately, my experience was quite stressful. During check-in, she spent almost an hour talking about Mauritius, showing maps, and explaining tours. While this may be helpful for some guests, it felt overwhelming and took up a lot of my time. She also strongly promoted tours through her own contacts. For example, I was told a dolphin tour would cost €65, but at the time of payment, it suddenly became $155 including transfer. I later found out this was significantly higher than the local price. Unfortunately, I did not even see dolphins. Local people later told me that dolphin tours starting at 9:00 have a low chance of sightings, and that 6:00 AM tours are recommended. The usual price is around $30–40. Cleanliness was also an issue. When I checked in, there were used dishes left by previous guests, and a bath mat from a previous stay was still inside the washing machine. The owner also asked many personal questions (income, rent, travel budget, etc.), which felt uncomfortable. During my stay, I received messages at night such as reminders to turn off the lights or close the windows, which made it hard to fully relax. Breakfast was very basic (juice and a boiled egg), so I would recommend not having high expectations. Overall, I did not feel comfortable or relaxed during my stay. If you prefer a quiet and independent experience, this may not be the right place for you.

Our Wonderful Vacation at La Maison Ojas Eco Lodges We stayed in Vanessa and Giovanni’s cabin for 10 days at the beginning of January 2026 and were amazed. We felt very well taken care of, Vanessa served fresh delicious breakfasts with a variety of different meals and drinks every day. Every morning we found a basket full of treats on the terrace. The breakfasts were warm and nourishing, tea was delicious, juices freshly squeezed, deserts were sweet. The area is peaceful and quiet, cabins are clean and fully -equipped- this made our vacation on Mauritius perfect. A big plus is that the cabin has two bathrooms (one on the ground floor and one upstairs), good WiFi connection and air conditioning, with windows protected by mosquito nets. Albion town has two large beaches, a well-stocked and comfortable supermarket and several restaurants where we enjoyed local dishes and snacks. We especially recommend a family-run pizzeria located XXX meters away, where we had an opportunity to try Pizza with honey - and we loved it! La Maison Ojas Eco Lodges is a great base for exploring the island. With Vanessa’s helpful tips and guidance, we were able to see the island’s stunning landscapes even from a helicopter. We highly recommend it. It was wonderful vacation and we will definitely come back one day

Staying at La Maison Ojas Eco Lodges was special for us from the first to the last day. The accommodation is very clean, cosy and decorated in a natural style, with a comfortable bed, air conditioning and everything we needed during our holiday. A huge plus are the owners Vanessa and Giovani – they are extremely kind, helpful and genuinely care about making guests feel comfortable. They helped us with recommendations for trips, beaches and restaurants and took care of all the details of our stay. The location in Albion is ideal if you are looking for a quieter area away from large resorts, with good access to the beach and beautiful sunsets. I would recommend La Maison Ojas to anyone who really wants to relax in Mauritius, reset their mind and experience a more personal and authentic approach than in a classic hotel.

Le lodge est très propre et spacieux. Il est très bien équipé. La literie est top 👍🏼. L'emplacement est calme. L'accès à la piscine de nos hôtes possible de 9h à 18h. La gentillesse et la disponibilité de Vanessa et Giovanni : des conseils, des discussions, des partages d'expériences, bref des gens adorables 💕

Les bouchons le matin sur la seule route proche du lodge. Parfois les chiens qui aboient longtemps la nuit.

Straordinaria accoglienza e disponibilità degli host Vanessa e Giovanni. La casa, che affaccia sul giardino, è accogliente, pulita, ben tenuta, dotata di tutto il necessario (una menzione speciale al materasso molto comodo, e alla presenza di due bagni con docce molto spaziose). Vanessa prepara un'ottima colazione diversa ogni giorno, e si può mangiare sul portico in giardino. La posizione è strategica per chi, come noi, ha noleggiato un'auto per poter liberamente visitare spiagge non solo a ovest; da Albion tutte le principali spiagge e punti di interesse sono raggiungibili con percorsi automobilistici che vanno dai 20 ai 60 minuti; nonostante la posizione strategica la zona residenziale in cui si trova è molto tranquilla, ideale per riposarsi.

Wir hatten einen rundum sehr angenehmen Aufenthalt. Die Unterkunft war sauber, gepflegt und gut organisiert, man hat sich vom ersten Moment an willkommen gefühlt. Die Kommunikation mit den Gastgeber:innen lief reibungslos, Fragen wurden schnell und freundlich beantwortet. Besonders positiv hervorzuheben ist die ruhige Atmosphäre, die es leicht gemacht hat, sich zu entspannen und den Aufenthalt zu genießen. Alles Wichtige war vorhanden, sodass es uns an nichts gefehlt hat. Die Lage empfanden wir als praktisch, um die Umgebung zu erkunden, gleichzeitig aber angenehm zurückgezogen. Insgesamt eine sehr stimmige Unterkunft, in der man sich wohlfühlen kann. Wir würden jederzeit wiederkommen und können sie guten Gewissens weiterempfehlen.

Die Gastgeberin Vanessa und Ihre Familie haben in Albion eine sehr schöne Unterkunft in Albion geschaffen. Man hat Alles was man im Urlaub als Selbstversorger benötigt. Wobei zu Tagesstart es jeden Tag ein frisch bereitetes Frühstück serviert wird. Wer sich dort nicht wohl fühlt ist selber schuld. Wir waren 19 Nächte dort. In relativ kurzer Zeit war man mit dem Mietwagen an jedem beliebigen Ort der Insel. Vielen lieben Dank an unsere Gastgeber.

Стильное жилье. Очень уютное и красивое. Это три маленькие домика по соседству друг с другом с общим двором, территория закрытая, безопасная, в номере есть все необходимое, включая стиральную машину, утюг, плиту, свч, и даже музыкальную колонку. Вежливые владельцы которые каждое утро готовили милый завтрак.

Море достаточно далеко, но мы были на машине. На авто 3 минуты. Пляж хороший. Но без машины в этом жилье будет некомфортно.

Bien situé Bonne literie

Nous avons été accueilli par le fils de notre hôte, chaleureux et sympathique. Cette dernière étant absente. Nous n’avons pas eu de produit d’hygiène, ni même une bouteille d’eau à l’arrivée. C’est donc un accueil qui questionne. Le petit déjeuné n’était pas continental mais plus « healthy » et très peu copieux, servie avec 30 à 45 minutes de retard tous les jours. Nous n’avons pas eu accès à la piscine non plus, car non proposé par notre hôte. La sensation d’être espionné avec de nombreuses caméras de vidéo surveillance. L’hygiène n’était pas au rendez vous non plus, le mobilier est taché, les serviettes de bain ne sentaient pas bon. Des excursions sont proposées par l’hôte à des prix très élevés, nous avons donc réservé via d’autres prestataires, ce qui a pu être mal perçu. Je rejoins les commentaires en lien avec le fait de réserver via Booking, nous avons un traitement différent.

La proximité de belles plages et la gentillesse des propriétaires

Il est regrettable d’arriver après plus d’une dizaine d’heures de vol et de ne pas avoir un minimum de produits d’accueil ( savon , eau de source pour se désaltérer et autres ..,.) Je parle de produits d’accueil donc une fois dans le séjour Nous venons à Maurice depuis 1997 et c’est la première fois que nous n’avons pas une bouteille d’eau pour nous accueillir Le lodge est spacieux mais pas fonctionnel, très peu de rangement Le petit déjeuner !!! Nous avons demandé à l’avoir à 7h30 il nous a été au mieux donné à 8 h et plus Déjeuner continental, ce qu’il nous a été dit : revoir la définition car ce n’est pas du tout cela En ce qui concerne le lodge, c’est assez sommaire Dommage qu’il faille réclamer tout ce qui serait nécessaire pour passer un séjour acceptable : ménage non fait, serviettes de toilette non changées pendant 7 jours ainsi que les tapis de bain , tout cela est un peu limite à notre goût étant nous mêmes hôte

We really enjoyed our three-day stay in Albion! We loved the quiet local beach down the road and the modern and spacious cottage. Vanessa gave us helpful insights and good recommendations for our first couple of days. We are happy that we chose this place as our first stop in Mauritius and would come again!

Von den Gastgebern haben wir viele nützliche Tipps erhalten. Der Standort ist optimal für viele Ausflugsziele. Einkaufsmöglichkeiten sind auch nicht weit weg.

Uns hat lediglich ein Kleiderschrank gefehlt.

We had a very pleasant stay at this accommodation in Mauritius. The property is conveniently located within a short distance of both a supermarket and the public beach, and the surrounding neighborhood felt safe and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent, offering a good selection and quality each morning. The hosts were exceptionally attentive, checking in with us regularly to ensure our comfort and providing thoughtful recommendations on local attractions and activities. We really appreciated their hospitality and would happily stay here again.

It's not about the accommodation itself, but beware of mosquitos and come prepared :)

We loved this place so much. Vanessa and her family were so welcoming, and really do provide the "home" experience. I was genuinely excited to wake up every morning to see what was for breakfast. Every day it was something different and unique (we were there 9 nights). Vanessa was also available for any questions, and was so helpful with tips on places to go on the island. The apartment was great - it had everything we needed. If there is anything missing, you just ask, and they will provide (for example we asked for a fan). The bed was SO comfortable, so much so my husband was asking where it was from! We also thought it was a great location to explore the island (we had a car), and there was a supermarket and restaurants located very close. We can also recommend the dumplings at the local beach shack. Also if you have young children I really recommend Balfour Garden - beautiful playground about 15 minute drive away. My daughter also loved the swimming pool!

Mosquitos were a problem for us, but of course this is nothing against the accommodation, just something to be prepared for.

La qualité du lodge est vraiment au rendez vous, j’ai beaucoup apprécié y séjourner (la literie est incroyable). C’est assez proche d’une sublime petite plage peu fréquentée c’était très agréable, et Vanessa a été de très bons conseils tout au long du séjour

the apartment is very cute and well equipped. it even has a washing machine! one can feel and see the love and attention to detail that went into it. also, the location is perfect to visit places around the west and south. Vanessa and Giovanni were lovely hosts and made us truly feel at home.

The breakfast was not what we expected from the pictures. It was good, but rather plain. Also, their dog barked a lot some evenings.

You get parking outside of the property first come first serve. Overall safe area and you get a code for the gate to come in and have a little key box outside to store the lodge’s keys inside so that you don’t have to carry it everywhere. Full bathroom upstairs and downstairs, washing machine (all though no iron/ steamer so pack your own) and small gas stove (two burners),microwave fridge,freezer and toaster. Tv,wifi,netflix and AC. Breakfast every morning but make sure to do some grocery shopping as this is a self cater lodge and only get breakfast! We stayed 6 days and really enjoyed the variety of puddings and food Vanessa made us. We even got some home made energy shots! Both Vanessa and Geovani were amazing hosts. Saw the pool that’s on the website but we never used it as we went to the beach mostly. You get towels aswell. The bed is really comfortable so you will definitely get a good nights sleep for the next day filled with activity! Downstairs they also have a pull out couch that can sleep two people and a small hang closet about 3 hangers. A safe is also provided. They are really attentive and help where they can! Be sure to pack an adapter for the plugs! Do not overpack as there isn’t a lot of space for clothes upstairs. Downstairs a bit more but definitely not enough if you’re more than 2 people

We’ve had an amazing stay. Vanessa and her family are amazing hosts, hospitable and caring. She helped us with anything we needed. Breakfast served every day - different and enjoyable. The apartment has all we need and is a really good base to visit the southern part of the island. We could use the pool and also got useful hints on places to visit or to eat. Her family also contributed to our overall view of the island, as we could have a little chit-chat with them every now and then.

Les plus : literie confortable, calme, bon équipement de la cuisine, .

Les moins : un logement peu chaleureux, absence de cintres dans les penderies (3 cintres nous ont été fournis après demande) et surtout le sentiment d'avoir été traités comme des "sous-clients" parce que l'on avait réservé via booking. Visiblement Booking a demandé aux hôtes de nous offrir le petit déjeuner parce qu'on était des clients "genius" (de notre côté, nous avions réservé un logement avec petit déjeuner compris). En conséquence, nous avons eu droit à des petits déjeuners minimalistes (pain avec un peu de beurre et du fromage râpé accompagnés d'une demi tasse de thé). Franchement, nous aurions préféré payer un peu plus cher mais avoir un vrai petit déjeuner digne de ce nom. N'ayant pas eu l'occasion de voir Vanessa avant le jour de notre départ, c'est seulement à ce moment, qu'elle nous a fait part de son ressentiment vis à vis de Booking.... Nous en sommes les premiers désolés, mais il n'est pas normal que nous en supportions les conséquences. Encore une fois, il vaut mieux augmenter le prix de la location, ou informer dès le début du séjour de la situation que de recevoir si mal ses hôtes... Par contre, si vous réservez en dehors de Booking, vous êtes a priori mieux traités, d'où les commentaires élogieux laissés par d'autres guests... C'est dommage...

Compact space. Good for family.

Vanessa and Giovanni are truly the perfect hosts. They have three lovely, spacious studios with two bathrooms, a super comfortable bed and you really have everything you need. They will provide you with a list of restaurants (La Murene is highly recommended and only 5 minutes away), a list of activities to do. And even when you’re not staying with them, they are more than happy to help you with anything. Vanessa prepares the breakfast in the morning (fresh baguette with omelet and home made juice) and puts it on your outdoor table for whenever you want to have it. They also have a pool that you can enjoy between 9am and 6pm. It was a true pleasure staying with them. Thanks for everything!

Amazing stay in a beautiful space. Vanessa was very knowledgeable and shared information on where to eat and do around the accommodation. The bed was super comfortable and really complete facilities for the accommodation. We loved our chats with Vanessa, her homemade breakfast, warm hospitality and comfortable accommodation to just chill in.

We have never felt so welcome at an accommodation before! The host and her family are incredibly kind, always ready to help with anything, and easy to reach. The homemade breakfast, personally prepared by the host and delivered to our apartment at our preferred time, was a highlight—different every day and always delicious. The apartments are brand new, with perfect WiFi, brand-new air conditioning, two bathrooms, and two showers—everything we needed for a comfortable stay. It was also possible to book all sorts of activities directly with the host, making our trip even more convenient. The location in Albion is perfect as a base to explore the beautiful beaches in the area. We couldn’t have wished for anything better—price-quality wise, it’s a no-brainer!

Great, new, clean accommodation. The hospitable owners cooked us breakfast and once even dinner. The kitchen is fully equipped. The bedroom had its own bathroom, the mattresses were very comfortable. As a bonus, there is a swimming pool in the garden. We would love to come back if the opportunity arises.
