Fint hus i Flåm

The house was simple but lovely. Only one level but spacious. The kitchen was stocked with appliances. You can see a view of Brekkenfossen from the house and the trailhead is a short walk away. The town of Flam is about about a 20 minute walk which is beautiful and along a river. We enjoyed staying in an actual neighborhood instead of the city center.

The property is a bit out of the way, and with no station transfers and a non-working taxi number, we had to walk about 20 minutes each way with heavy luggage. We were surprised to learn from the host right before arrival that there were tenants in the lower level. We’d assumed we had the whole house, though the tenants were friendly and we rarely saw them. An unexpected incident occurred when we returned to find the basement door wide open - an area not included in our rental. We assumed it was the cleaners, as we could see what looked like laundry inside, but the rest of the house hadn’t been tidied. While nothing appeared disturbed, it did leave us feeling a little uneasy.

The house is very big and has everything you need for cooking. Parking is easy.

“The entire place is yours” is advertised on the website, but there were 3 other cars parked in the same property lot and other people (2 or more) stayed in the basement of the same house building. => Unsafe atmosphere & false advertising Laundry room downstairs was full of the property owner’s clean towels in the middle of the area, connected with another door. => Safety concern about the possibility that the door could be opened from the other side during our sleep at night. Due to the two disappointing surprise & false advertising stated above, we felt very uncomfortable and unsafe. Lawn grass is very long. Trampoline was shown on the advertisement photos, but it was not there. Slide was loose & unstable, without a warning sign in display. => Dangerous for children to play “Cow farm” smell in the bathroom since we checked in. => This bad small existed only in the bathroom (normal smell in all other parts of the house and in the balcony & garden.) Impolite post-check-out messages with arbitrary assumption from the property’s two representatives were extremely unprofessional and disrespectful. *In conclusion: NOT recommended to stay in Fint hus i Flåm.

We were very disappointed with our stay at this property. Most concerning: the patio doors in both the living room and master bedroom did not lock. This is a major safety issue that left us uneasy throughout our stay. At that point, we were already frustrated due to delayed communication regarding our request for bedding, so we didn’t bother reaching out again. The house was clean but felt completely sterile—zero charm or warmth. Only two of the four bedrooms were made up, and we had to move a blanket and pillow ourselves. For a house that sleeps more guests, we were surprised to find only one towel per person and three flat pillows total. Every piece of furniture appeared to be the most basic from IKEA, and the shower leaked water all over the floor. We have no extra towels to mop it up. My bedroom was especially bleak—just a bed with a cheap, pilled fitted sheet. No nightstand, no decor, no comfort. It honestly felt more like a dorm room or a cell than a space meant for travelers. To make matters worse, the owner contacted us asking if a plumber could access the house—but gave us no warning or exact time. We were away in another town and had no chance to prepare or secure our belongings. The only positives were that the house was clean and the nearby waterfall was beautiful. But the overall experience left us uncomfortable and disappointed. We were relieved to move on to our next Airbnb in Bergen, which was thoughtfully decorated and far more welcoming. I cannot recommend this property, especially not for families or travelers expecting a safe, comfortable stay.

Views from property, very spacious Immaculately clean

Just to let owners know, when the oven, kettle and, we then realised, underfloor heating on at same time this trips the fuse. Easily corrected by using consumer unit and turning off kitchen underfloor heating.

The location was stunning. Being immersed in nature right outside our back door was wonderful

The place was very easy to reach and find, with an incredible view from just outside the house. Although it's a bit of a walking distance to the train stations, the view was so spectacular that it felt like a treat. The hosts were very friendly, helpful and responsive. They were very quick to answer any questions we had. The house itself is in perfect condition, with all the faclities working perfectly, very comfortable and spacious, free of clutter, plenty storage spaces. I would highly recommend this place to any travelers who are in the area, especially if you have a larger group.

Nothing major. Walk was 25 min from Flåm which can be a little for some.

I would encourage adding a little bit of”life” into the place. Apart from the basics it is rather empty. A bunch of books, games and decorations would go a long way. Oh, also, the shower head was massively leaking and needs replacing

A little farther from the village. It was expensive but lovely
