Fuimos mi marido y yo unos días de luna de miel y la verdad es que quedamos encantados. La habitación muy amplia y en una zona muy tranquila. Sin duda tenemos que destacar la gran amabilidad de la familia (te ayudan en todo lo necesario) y el gran servicio que ofrecen tanto en el desayuno como en la cena. Productos típicos, abundantes y muy sabrosos. Gracias por hacer de nuestro viaje unos días inolvidables.

La gentillesse extrême de Dalilette, James et Lionel ! Et les dîners tous plus délicieux les uns que les autres sur une semaine complète, l'impression d'être au restaurant tous les soirs. L'emplacement est top pour aller faire du kitesurf tous les matins à Anse Mourouk.

Français: Les repas étaient particulièrement copieux et savoureux, et variés tous les jours! Deutsch: Die Mahlzeiten waren besonders lecker und üppig! Es gab jeden Tag etwas Anderes zu kosten.

L'accueil chaleureux de James et Dalilette et les repas typiques. Situé à 1km de la plage de Mourouk et 10 min à pied de la plage de Port-Sud Est. A proximité d'un arrêt de bus. Nous avons beaucoup apprécié les discussions avec nos hôtes qui ont partagé avec nous leur histoire. C'était vraiment enrichissant !

La situation, l'accueil. James et Dalilette sont des personnes d'une grande gentillesse, attentifs et généreux. La cuisine de James est excellente et les petits-déjeuner copieux, variés et très bons. Leur fils Lionel est très sympathique aussi. Nous garderons un excellent souvenir de ces quelques jours passés chez eux.Un grand merci.

Un accueil exceptionnel, des repas copieux et savoureux. Un emplacement idéal pour rayonner sur l'île. C'était un bonheur de séjourner à la Belle du Sud.

Les hôtes étaient formidables, d'une extrême gentillesse. Le petit déjeuner est copieux et varie tous les jours, avec des découvertes de spécialités locales. Nous avons pu échanger avec les hôtes de la vie à Rodrigues, et c'est ce que nous recherchions.

Alles. Wo auch immer die hohen Bewertungen herkommen. Völlig unverständlich! Gebucht hatten wir 100qm für uns allein. Allerdings haben wir diese mit anderen Gästen geteilt. Es war sehr hellhörig. Das Zimmer war nicht wirklich sauber. Wir saßen jeden Abend, dank der weiteren Gäste, auf zwei Plastikklappstühlen. Sehr, sehr unbequem. Auch die Lage war nicht gut. Ohne Mietwagen oder Ähnliches kommst du nicht zum Strand, um zu baden. Ruhig ist es dort alles andere, wobei die Vermieter dafür nichts können. Das Frühstück war leider auch nichts für uns.

L'hébergement est très bien situé pour découvrir l'ile (proche des plus belles plages, au cœur de la vie de la population locale qui cultive son jardin). Un arrêt de bus est à 5 min à pied, ainsi que deux petites épiceries (il vaut mieux tout de même avoir son propre moyen de locomotion, car on "perd" beaucoup de temps dans les transports sinon). Les hôtes, James, Dalilette et leur fils Lionel habitent le rez-de-chaussée, et louent le premier étage qui est constitué de deux chambres qui peuvent être communicantes avec chacune une salle de bain (une de 2 personnes et l'autre de 3 personnes), ainsi que d'une varangue et d'une cuisine à se partager. Les chambres sont simples, mais très propres, et le matelas de bonne qualité. James prépare les petits déjeuners et les diners qui sont servis en terrasse sur deux tables séparées (si les deux chambres sont louées). Les repas sont délicieux et copieux et James arrivent à nous faire découvrir de nouvelles saveurs chaque jour. Ce sont des hôtes très très sympathiques, qui sont aux petits soins pour nous afin que nous passions un excellent séjour.

Wonderful place and very kind family. The breakfast and dinner were quite good, and they are very accommodating to dietary restrictions. The facilities were as described; it was overall clean and had a beautiful view of the surrounding forest/ocean. The location is also ideal for kitesurfing and diving in Mourouk. I highly recommend this stay for other travelers who are looking for a quiet and peaceful vacation :)

A Warm Welcome and Culinary Bliss at La Belle du Sud, Rodrigues Island Our stay at La Belle du Sud was nothing short of extraordinary. From the warm hospitality to the delicious, home-cooked meals, everything about our 10-day visit exceeded our expectations. James and Dalilette, the hosts, were incredibly welcoming and generous. Dalilette, an active and energetic lady, often went fishing herself and occasionally brought in fresh octopus, which became the highlight of our evening meals. Every night, we were treated to a different, freshly prepared dish, always enough to feed four—no wonder we gained a good five kilos by the end of our stay! Breakfasts were equally delightful, with an ample spread that included fresh juices and a variety of items to start the day on the right note. The property itself felt like a small, serene farm, with cattle, pigs (slaughtered once a year), hens, and even dogs. The dogs, just like the people of Rodrigues, were remarkably calm and didn’t bark—a reflection of the island’s tranquillity. The spacious accommodation offered two bedrooms and two bathrooms, providing more than enough room for us, making it fantastic value for money. In terms of location, La Belle du Sud is close to one of Rodrigues’ prime surfing lagoons, making it a perfect spot for water sports enthusiasts. Despite being in the southeast, the island's small size means everything is just 20 to 30 minutes away by car, so getting around was never an issue. As a thank-you for their incredible hospitality, we invited James, Dalilette, and their family to a small celebration on our last evening. We brought wine, beer, sweets, and chips for everyone, especially the grandchildren, who had a fantastic time playing both indoors and outdoors in the spacious property. It was a joyous way to express our gratitude and celebrate the wonderful time we had together. Rodrigues itself is a slice of paradise—peaceful, unspoiled, and full of friendly, welcoming people.

A charming homestay with delicious dinner and breakfast.

We spent three weeks in Mauritius (rent a car around island) and Rodrig. The best part is actually Rodrig. I recommend at least eight days here..Mauritius is so, so ( except La morne and region we discovered that La Belle du Sud guesthouse has in fact an excellent location - only a three hundred meters (flat) to the bus station (a fairly frequent), close to a shop (150 m) and in the same time in the middle of nature . From airport- you could take bus to port mathurin, get out of the bus at mount lublin and take bust to Port du Sud… or take the bust to final stop in port mathurin and take bus there..)..There is a pleasant walk from the guesthouse around a kilometer and half to Morouk beach, from where you can further walk eastward from one beautiful)almost empty) beach to another all the way to the eastern beaches. In gravier are two restaurants). a truly wonderful walk on well-marked trails. We loved having at guesthouse a private large terrace surrounded by greenery and a view of the canyon and the sea. There is just one large apartment ( so you will be only guests) at guesthouse with everything you need (not luxury, but clean and pleasent , even kitchens) ...the dinners here prepared by father were extremely tasty, there was enough food for breakfast too. This is very important because in general is quite difficult to find open restaurant on rodriguez. We like a very nice family, too. In Port da Sud or Morouk beach (for sunset recommend( you could observe sunrise and sunset- very rare opportunity.. sunrise with all the sounds of the nature ( including animals and birds ) are in particular beautiful. Just climb a few meters from apartment up to hill- .. In general- the quality-price ratio here is probably the best you will find in Rod. and Mauritius. If you like calm atmosphere, nature , friendly people and tasty food you find the proper place . we only regretted that we only had a reservation for three nights .. we should stay at least seven days here…

Very nice family, excellent food, we were there for a week and never once had the same meal. The language barrier was a problem for us, but the owner's son was always available with English. He arranged a scooter and a wonderful boat trip for us at a fair price. Thank you to your whole family for a nice stay.

The warm welcome from the family, the peaceful nature of the village, the vistas along the paths and hills as you walk around the village, the beauty of the secluded beaches near Mourouk (the sea current can be strong). We especially loved the signposted walking trails along the hills and along the coast as we walked from Port Sud'Est as far as Anse Trou d'Argent. We were told that the hiking trail continues much further along the coast. The trail was breathtakingly beautiful passing along pristine secluded beaches, coves, rain forests, farms, villages, etc. (but bring hiking shoes or trainers and insect repellent). There was good breakfast too and the family can also prepare dinner for you at a supplemental price. But there are restaurants and cafe at Mourouk beach that are open until early evening and there is public bus to get there or you can also walk. We also discovered one of the very best sea food platters in Rodrigues at a small creole restaurant in Gravier. There are also lots of public buses to get to the various beaches and the family can arrange pick/drop off to and from the airport or beaches. And there are several (small supermarkets) corner shops in the village selling baguettes, snacks, beers, water or other essentials. We especially liked the peculiar sightings of small herds of cattle relaxing on the beaches. And if you're into kite surfing or snorkeling, then Mourouk beach is perfect as it is surrounded by huge lagoon with coral reefs and a variety of fish (but it can be windy with strong sea currents out in the lagoon). So it is better if you're a good or strong swimmer or ask for life jacket. You can also kayak to the many islets in the lagoon or hire a small fishing boat to bring you out in the lagoon.

Nothing as it was a very comfortable accommodation in a small village.
