Geilo-Kikut, Ski-In, Ski-Out with Stunning Trails and Perfect Location

Very nice area and place, we came off season so almost no one but us. Clean and cozy.

There were construction work very close (maybe 50-100 meters) starting very early which really made our stay less enjoyable….Also- there were no microwave nor a toaster in the kitchen which is truly basic.

Es hätte sauberer sein können in der Küche. Schränke von innen ziemlich dreckig. Gefrierfach vereist. Essensreste in Kühlschrank und Gefrierfach. Etliche Schrankfächer befüllt mit privaten Sachen der Besitzer. Für 8 Leute definitiv zu klein da nur ein Bad und 2 kleine Etagenbetten. Maximal 4 Erwachsene und 4 Kinder. Im Sommer doch recht weit ab vom Schuss.

Das Haus ist geräumig und wunderschön eingerichtet. Die Lage ist idyllisch.

Alles, heel comfortabel en prachtig uitzicht.

In verhouding tot de rest van het huis kan de badkamer moderner en groter.

Comfortabel appartement, van alle gemakken voorzien, schoon, zeer attente en pro-actieve professionele verhuurorganisatie. Enkele minor issues werden voortvarend opgelost.

Hou er rekening mee dat dit een typische wintersport locatie is, een paar km buiten Geilo gelegen. Wij waren er eind mei / begin juni en het was er uitgestorven. Ook de bistro was gesloten. Je moet dus voor alles naar Geilo zelf. Voor het opladen van je EV vraagt men een hoge, vaste fee.

Overall, apartment was super practical yet cosy with 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, combined living/dining room/kitchen, laid out really well and with truly spectacular views from the living. Gas fireplace worked very well - not 100% the same as a log fireplace, but a lot more practical and a lot less effort and fire risk. Colour scheme and furniture + decor was really nice and classy as well. Worked great for our family of 4, 2 adults, 2 children 8 and 10.

There was really nothing to dislike. 3 very minor snags: 1) the parking garage underneath didn't work when we were there, but that will be fixed in future, and there was lots of parking just 40 meters away in any case. 2) Also, ski-in, ski out doesn't work late in season when there is no snow on the road, but again that is to be expected, and the local lift (Kikut) is then a 1 minute drive (and modest parking fee) away. 3) Rural Norway (rightly) takes recycling very much more seriously than the UK, with need to sort into 7+ different categories, yet there is only one bin (bucket) in the house. Might be nice with at least a dedicated food bin in future.

The cabin is so beautifully decorated and well maintained. The facilities are good overall and having the garage included was super useful. The cabin was a 5min walk from the kikut slope if wearing ski boots. The host/agency were so helpful when we contacted them with questions and we are really grateful for that. Every in the group loved the cabin and commented on how nice the interior was. I would definitely recommend the cabin.

Not the fault of the cabin but it is a pity the ski bus doesn't come to kikut. A toaster and microwave would be handy but not sure if these things are popular in Norway.

Absolutely loved staying here during Christmas! Communication with Andreas was super, the place was amazing - we love the interior decor, it was very clean and we just really enjoyed our stay! It definitely exceeded our expectations - thank you so much!
