Reviewed Aug 7, 2026We loved our stay with Xoi and her family. Before our arrival, she arranged the transportation from (and back to) Hanoi. Our room was very big, tidy and with A/C. We enjoyed all our meals (breakfast/lunch/dinner), the food cooked with all local ingredients was super delicious. We rented bicycles every day and explored the valley, we recommend the Bể Bơi Tự nhiên Cát Sỏi swimming pool! We were also able to do our laundry. We are grateful to Xoi and her family for their kindness and we definitely recommend visiting this beautiful valley with very welcoming people.

Reviewed Jun 2, 2026A Journey to Visit “Relatives” in Rural Vietnam — My Time at Xoi Farmstay
When people think of traveling to Vietnam, destinations such as Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, or the famous Ha Long Bay often come to mind. This time, however, I visited a very different place: Xoi Farmstay, located in a peaceful mountain village where many members of the Tày ethnic minority live.
From a Japanese-style business hotel (Super Hotel) in Hanoi, it took about five hours by minivan and taxi to reach the farmstay. The owner, Xoi, kindly arranged all transportation, making the journey smooth and stress-free.
What made this experience special was that it felt less like a typical sightseeing trip and more like “visiting relatives in the Vietnamese countryside.”
Each morning, I woke up to the sound of roosters crowing. During the day, I wandered through beautiful rice fields and rural landscapes. In the evening, I shared meals and conversations with the family. Time seemed to move at a gentler pace, far removed from the rush of city life.
The food was another highlight. Vegetables were grown without pesticides, fish came fresh from the pond, and other ingredients were sourced locally. The dishes were simple yet delicious, prepared with flavors that Japanese visitors would find especially comforting.
Near the farmstay, there is a waterfall and a natural spring-fed pool. On warm days, swimming in the cool, crystal-clear water is a refreshing experience and a wonderful way to connect with nature.
Perhaps the most memorable part of mall was the night sky. With very little artificial light, countless stars filled the darkness above. Sitting quietly and gazing at them, I completely lost track of time.
Xoi Farmstay is not a destination for those seeking luxury or busy tourist attractions. Instead, it offers something far more valuable: genuine human connections, beautiful natural surroundings, and a glimpse into everyday life in rural Vietnam.

Personnel accueillant et bienveillant. Lodge sur pilotis simple et confortable. Vue directe sur la rivière. Terrasse bien équipée (table+chaises, hamac, chaises longues, balançoire et balancelle). Prestations directement disponibles du homestay (massage dans son lodge, bains d'herbes, spectacles divers, location vélo et scooter, taxi, etc...). Repas traditionnels simples.
Site en cours d'évolution (construction de nouveaux lodges). Environnement extérieur au site un peu bruyant (école à proximité, travaux de tronçonnage en journée débutant un peu tôt le matin).

Reviewed Apr 17, 2026Zoi and her family make you feel like part of her family!! The family dinners and breakfasts are amazing! We rented scooters to go to the gem market and had a blast! Then to top it off they drove us to ha giang for our next stop on our journey. I can’t say enough about this farm stay as it is a “do not miss” for an authentic Vietnam experience!!

Reviewed Mar 21, 2026Staying at Xoi Farmstay was an incredible experience from start to finish. The host was truly fantastic—warm, welcoming, and attentive to every detail. The food was absolutely delicious, with every meal feeling fresh, authentic, and made with care.
One of the highlights was how seamlessly everything was arranged. She organized transportation from Hanoi to the farmstay and then onward to Sapa, which made the entire trip stress-free and easy to enjoy.
Joy, her family, and the whole team are genuinely amazing people who made us feel right at home. Their kindness and hospitality really made this stay unforgettable. I would definitely come back again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful and authentic experience.

Reviewed Mar 20, 2026Our family had a Tet holiday at Xoi Farmstay. The house was meticulously cared for by the owner and her family. We had a cozy dinner with duck hotpot. We also cycled along the village roads to see the traditional houses and fields. We only stayed one night, so we didn't have time to climb the mountain. And I should emphasize that if you're traveling from Bac Ha on your way back to Hanoi, you can choose to stop at this place. My family also runs a homestay in Bac Ha – Huy Trung Homestay – and I also really liked Xoi Farmstay.
It would be great if the village roads were paved with asphalt in the future.

Reviewed Apr 29, 2025A really lovely homestay in a peaceful little town. Perfectly situated between Sapa and Ha Giang to split up your journey. Xoi and her family are extremely kind and hospitable hosts.
The traditional rustic bungalows are comfortable, private and really clean with a great running hot water system!
Really appreciated the free water included and family dinner for 150k pp is a must.
Just note that due to the location, there aren’t restaurants or cafes around and the shops have little variety for snacks. Not a problem for us, just part of the adventure!

Reviewed Apr 20, 2025Xoi Farmstay is an excellent way to experience the beauty of Yen Bai and Lam Thuong without any tourists. The surroundings are magical, the staff is very welcoming, and the rooms are very unique and comfortable individually built stilt houses.
There is not much to dislike. Everything was amazing.

Reviewed Apr 17, 2025Very helpful and nice family. Organized for us pick up at the airport in Hanoi - car with driver directly to homestay. Comfortable beds, kettle and cold water in room. Hot water in bathroom, hairdryer. Possible rent bikes, easy ride, not so hilly around. Things to do - little Bamboo rafting, swimming in waterfalls, hikking to Pu Lung Trang hill, we did with 4 years old son with local guide, he prepared local lunch pinknik, it was amazing. Food in homestay was fantastic. They also arranged transfer by car to Mu Cang Chai in time what we wanted. Thanks for everythings, hope we will come back someday❤️

Reviewed Jun 3, 2024We were in a tiny village surrounded by rice paddies and a waterfall to swim in 6kms away. Also the vegetarian meals were fantastic. Provided 3 times a day for 8 days. Bike and Bicycle hire to cruise around. Xoi organised our getting there and back to Hanoi. Fantastic service.
There was more food than we could eat!! lol

The village is very authentic and has beautiful landscapes. Great nature, you can relax and enjoy the slow rhythm of the countryside. Non-touristic. I loved my stay there.
