Immersa nel verde in una piccola frazione, il Carey’s bar & Farmhouse offre una soluzione comoda e pulita. Il loro mini appartamento è dotato di tutti i comfort e si presta benissimo come alloggio per una lunga vacanza. Situata tra Carlow e Kilkenny, è comoda per visitarle. Non ha la moquette e per questo vale già 10 punti. La proprietaria è estremamente accogliente, di certo un valore aggiunto alla nostra vacanza.

Lovely homely feel

I was moving house, having moved out of one but with the new home not quite ready, so I needed to find somewhere to stay for a week. I was lucky enough to find Careys, an historic farm and pub not far from me and what a wonderful find! A delightful apartment consisting of a comfortable kitchen/lounge, a huge immaculate shower/wet room and a large bedroom with 2 double beds. The entrance was a little tricky to find -it is opposite a mediaeval church called St Lazarian and you have to drive into the farmyard. Where you will be greeted by the hostess the lovely Olive (ask her about the history of the farm and pub – its fascinating!) (I am slightly disabled but its all wheelchair friendly; Olive said I could have brought my dog but unfortunately she was already in kennels) For visitors there’s masses to see and do and Olive has put together a folder full of helpful information (IMO Dunmore Cave is really worth a visit) Theres a travel guide called Irelands Hidden Gems and if Careys isn’t in it, it should be it really is a hidden gem

The apartment was lovely and spacious, and the hosts were very welcoming and friendly. It was excellent value-for-money, and it's a pity we couldn't stay longer than one night.

The bathroom is a wet room, which isn't my favourite!

Beds/pillows were not the most comfortable but that is the only thing I could possibly complain about.

Замечательный летний домик. мы остановились всего на одну ночь, но хозяйка нас радушно встретила. Хоть завтрак и не входил в стоимость, но легкие завтраки в виде хлопьев все равно стояли на кухне. очень широкий выбор кухонной утвари и можно было готовить что хочешь. место тихое.

The place was perfect for a family and the hosts were very welcoming. It's a working farm and they let us see the cows and sheep.

Our stay was wonderful! Well equipped kitchen and amenities. Very comfortable for a family! We even found games for the little one and she was able to burn off some energy on the trampoline and playing with the pups! Olive was super responsive and generous! She was readily available and answered all questions within minutes of sending a message.

The location is wonderful, it was very secure and comfortable for our family!

A very comfortable apartment on a farm in the village with handy supermarket nearby. Well equipped modern kitchen and wet room , and cosy bedroom. Immaculately clean. The Stanley Stove was a lovely feature and kept the apartment very warm. Friendly and generous hosts who live next door. Travelling alone, I felt very secure here. The M9 motorway has very little traffic and provides easy access to lots of interesting places nearby including the lovely River Barrow.

La fattoria è leggermente fuori Kilkenny (circa 30 minuti). Appena arrivati siamo stati subito accolti da una struttura nuova e pulita con possibilità di parcheggio all’interno. La host ci ha fatto fare il giro della fattoria facendoci conoscere la sua famiglia, inclusi tutti i suoi animali, inoltre ci ha fatto vedere come dava da mangiare ai suoi vitelli appena nati. Un’esperienza unica, consigliatissimo.

Het appartement was knus en goed uitgerust. Aardige gastvrouw en gezellig hondje. Klein landelijk dorpje, maar wel met supermarkt. Lekker gewandeld.

It was just perfect for a friends' getaway and catch up. Easy to find. Gentle location in natural surroundings. Run by good people. Super facilities. Well thought out. Warm, airy, with a lovely vibe. Sun shone through the bedroom window. Extremely comfortable beds and bedding. Effective, easy to use cooker and hob. Good shower. Just perfect!

Nothing to not like!

Nestled in a farm court yard opposite the church of Ireland in the tiny village of OldLeighlin on the Carlow Kilkenny border. Easy to find & ideal for touring around Carlow & Kilkenny. The midlands has lots to offer on its doorstep. The small but perfectly adequate fam house is attached to the working farm with parking in a secure yard. Kitchen, bathroom and bedroom with 2 double beds. Bathroom has a disabled accessible shower. Our host Olive was there to meet us and talk us through house facilities and local attractions. I had my rescue dog Charlie with me and there were places close at hand to walk him.

Quiet, warm and clean place. Lovely and cozy place to stay for the night.

Very nice hosts, very nice people in general, open hearted. Nice and entertaining bar.

For 4 people, especially with siblings, too small. But that was our mistake, I misread the given information. No real living room, too small for four people.

plenty of room and well equipped kitchen. Comfortable, Olive and Denis are extremely friendly and welcoming and made sure we were comfortable. Parking and location. Bar opening on Wednesday and meeting local people. Learning about farm life and living in Ireland. Small drive and walk to see local sites mentioned by Olive.

Nice quiet homely stay.

Los anfitriones fueron super atentos. Les escribimos diciendo que llegaríamos un poco más tarde de la hora estipulada y nos dejaron todo preparado y acomodado. La comunicación fue muy fácil y esperaron a que llegasemos (aunque acabó siendo tarde) para ver que estaba todo bien.

Abbiamo soggiornato solo una notte di passaggio per visitare Kilkenny , l'appartamento era accogliente e pulito ,attrezzato per qualsiasi necessità . Molto cordiale l'Host che ci ha accolto e salutato fornendoci tutta l'assistenza necessaria.

Las indicaciones para llegar, nos liamos un poco, pero era de noche e íbamos muy cansados, del viaje en ferry y luego moto, no sé si sería más culpa nuestra, por eso no es dirimente.

De hartelijkheid van de host en het huiselijke karakter van de accommodatie. De sfeer was erg goed.

Een bordje dat (vreemde) gasten achterom kunnen rijden om op het erf te parkeren. Dat was even onduidelijk.

Had everything we needed, especially a washing machine. Not fancy but practical

I don’t know how much is around the lodging but it was a halfway point for our travel plans, so it was convenient for us. The bedroom was separate from the living area. Their small dog was friendly. She would walk up to you and roll over so you could pet her belly.

V helpful host who understands how to assist families with additional needs.Apartment was v comfortable .Bathroom and shower facilities worked well for us. Accessible and well positioned safety rails in shower and non slip flooring. Lovely double windowed spacious bedroom. 2 large double beds in the room. My son who sometimes does not sleep well in new places, slept like a log.. fully fitted kitchen and spacious has a lovely stove which was set to come on when we got back, v cosy ..thank you Olive, we will see you again please God.

It was a cozy little farmhouse with everything that you need, beds comfy, spacious rooms overall it was a fabulous place to stay. Olive and Denis lovely hard working people made us feel right at home. Had a wee drink in Careys the pub beside it, it was brilliant. Will for sure be back in the near future..

The comfort of the apartment was excellent, and the host had supplied everything you could think of including a folder of interesting things to do around the area. We were lucky to he there a night the public bar was open where we met some of the locals who were all very friendly.

Nothing I can report, though our little girl didn't really like the very friendly dog. When the host realised this the dog was straight away taken back into her own house.

Excellent location, very peaceful area, close to the pubs and local supermarket. Mrs Casey was very friendly and helpful. The property was very good and very comfortable.

Everything. Lovely cottage, lovely hosts, beautiful location, very clean and well equipped, brilliant nights rest.

I had to leave. The only thing was the settee was really uncomfortable but it didn't spoil anything.

Very warm cosy clean and comfortable we were only staying 1 night on our way to Kilkenny but it was so comfortable we had a very restful night and we had freedom to do our own cooking which was ideal. Husband appreciated Guinness from Pub

The house had a range in it, which brought back memories of my own childhood. The essential bits were in the house already and it was homely. Our son loves cows so being beside a farm was a huge bonus.

We got there late so we didn't get to enjoy it more.
