Hotel Nevada & Gambling Hall

It's an old, historic hotel/casino. The walls are covered in memorabilia. The rooms are a bit small by modern standards, the beds are typical of a budget motel, the plumbing is elderly and a bit unpredictable. In other words by modern standards it would not rate too high. But that's not why you stay here. There are plenty of impersonal modern hotels in town. This is for the guest who has a sense of history.

L'hôtel est sale. L'hôtel est resté dans son jus. Les chambres sont nettoyées superficiellement, la bonde de la baignoire était pleine de cheveux et poils. Il y avait des bêtes dans les serviettes pliées. Le rez-de-chaussée sent le tabac, difficile de rester avec des enfants. La climatisation est trop froide dans le restaurant, les plats sont moyens et nous avons attendu 1h avant d'avoir nos plats.

The room was small however it was clean. Keurig Coffee maker a plus. Bathroom not too much room. We had a king room with a mountain view. Staff friendly and helpful. Restaurant was excellent, they provided a coupon for a complimentary margarita, wine or beer at check-in.

Its an older hotel with smaller rooms and bathroom.

The room we stayed was absolutely wonderful! Incredibly clean, a nice view of downtown (main street?), really nicely decorated, no cigarette smell in the room, and a SUPER comfy bed and fluffy pillows! Very safe, was a bit nervous traveling with our toddler here since it’s a casino but we had no issues whatsoever! The staff was very kind too!

Sei que se trata de um Casino, mas o cheiro a cigarro quando se entra é muito dificil de suportar, para quem é alergico como eu custa muito o cheiro. As pias dos banheiros sao minusculas e nao dao jeito algum.

It is a very old building so some things were expected. Casino very limited as were food choices. The people were very nice and helpful. Overall, I would stay there again

We stay here every year & have loved it each time!! Biggest upgrade this year?!!! Getting rid of Dennys!! The new restaurant is great!! See ya next year!

Didn't eat breakfast, location convenient for my travels.

Place is fine as is - historical ambiance. Can't upgrade w/out heavy investment and would take away from historical setting.

Sehr tolles Hotel. Ein geschichtsträchtiges Gebäude. Liebevoll restauriert. Sehr saubere Zimmer und nettes hilfsbereites Personal. Mir hat das Hotel so gut gefallen, dass ich es für nächstes Jahr auch schon wieder gebucht habe für eine Nacht.

The Cafe

The room. Our room was infested with bed bugs and the lady at the desk that night was rude and not accommodating.

We really enjoyed the two bedroom suite. It met the need of friends traveling together. Staff was friendly and helpful. The room was well appointed and clean. There was a fire 9 miled away and we had a great view of it from our window! The staff person who checked us in reassured us that there would be no problem, which made us feel better.

Even though the staff said the fire would be no problem, we still felt the need to be vigilant overnight and didn't sleep well. That wan't the hotel's fault. Didn't enjoy th cigarette smoke in the casino but, it's a casino and to be expected. The smoke didn't enter the hotel rooms at all. The second bedroom with the bunkbeds don't get to have air conditioning if the door is closed.

Comfortable bed, the cafe was good and reasonably priced, everyone was friendly.

There is no way to enter the building without being in the smoke filled casino.

Although I appreciated the old hotel, it was not very clean. The walls were paper, thin and the couple next-door were incredibly loud, and I had to bang on the door to get them to quiet down. The staff was not very pleasant, either at the bar or at the check-in desk. I will not be staying there again.

Paint falling off the walls and no coffee or even clean linens the second day. Just not a friendly feel. Also, charging extra for using a credit card is robbery and not acceptable.

Staff was great. They have done a great job keeping the hotels historic charm with modern day comforts.

Pillows were a little bumpy.

I reserved a king suite and it was spacious, well appointed, great views and better than expected. The room looks like it had been recently renovated. The on-site restaurant was really good and the service was fast and friendly.

The lobby and casino area was dark and smelled of smoke. Too bad because the room was great.

The staff members were nice. The room was big with several chairs and a bench to sit on. The decor in the room was somewhat retro styled and interesting.

My biggest problem was the huge amount of smoking in the lobby. I started coughing the minute I walked in and couldn’t leave soon enough. We got free drink coupons we couldn’t use because we couldn’t stand the smoke. The bathroom was quite small and the sink outside the bathroom right next to the bed. The lights throughout the room were very bright and bluish color. It made the room look cold. The lights over the sink shined in my eyes while in bed. Some people might like the pillows but they were very firm and thick so that my neck was bent all night. The bed was also quite hard. Because of this my back and neck hurt so much I couldn’t sleep most of the night. The chairs were not padded so sitting up in them didn’t help.

Prima ligging ten opzicht van het Great Basin National Park (teleurstellend park). Keuze voor dit hotel was de ligging en het inpandig Denny's restaurant. Kamers waren gerenoveerd volgens Booking. Op de 5e etage dus (nog) niet. Kamer was verder prima. Genoemde restaurant was enkele maanden daarvoor overgenomen door een ander restaurants en was niet open (alleen voor ontbijt). Jammer. We hebben ons verblijf ingekort. Geld werd teruggestort. Verder prima behandeld en goed geslapen.

Beschrijving Booking kwam niet overeen met de werkelijkheid.

Ein absolutes Muss für Nostalgiker !!! Viel Liebe zum Detail, viele alte Dekostücke im Hotel, die die Geschichte des Hauses erzählen Ein kleines Casino im Erdgeschoss lädt zum Spielen ein :) Sehr sehr freundliches Personal an der Rezeption ! Ich würde jederzeit wieder in diesem charmanten Hotel übernachten !!!

The rooms have been updated and were clean and comfortable. Coffee and a frig in the room. A complementary drink on arrival.

The casino is very smokey and needs an update; although the rustic decor and old western vibe is kitchy. There were 3 yappy dogs allowed at the bar that were annoying.

Hotel easy to find. The room we chose was the king suite Linden, B Johnsen suite. The room was fabulous updated, clean, bed was excellent.

Was smoky when you first walked in I do understand it’s a gambling hall, I know they’re updating the rooms. Hopefully they update the entry. Some questionable people around the front of the building and inside. but once upstairs was great.

Great old school hotel that has been revitalized. Definitely worth a visit if heading to eastern Nevada!

The feel of the historic hotel is authentic with all of the right renovations and upgrades. The location was on the main street and was easily accessed. Staff was super friendly and helpful.

Our maid was so incredibly nice. We forgot our checkbook in our bed. As we were leaving, we said hi to the maid and left. We had gotten to our car and she came running after us asking if we’d forgotten our checkbook! So sweet!

It was newly renovated. The staff was nice.

It smells like smoke everywhere except in the new room. The 2 bed rooms only have full size beds so my 6’4” husband couldn’t fit in the bed. It says you get breakfast, but you really have to pay. Maybe I didn’t read the fine print, but it seemed like we were getting complimentary breakfast.

Hotel Nevada is located in old downtown Ely Nevada, which is a pretty remote location. The Hotel is refurbished and amenities (beds, bathroom, HVAC, linens are all updated and very nice. The staff people are friendly and helpful if there are any issues!

The on-site restaurant / coffee shop was CLOSED for repairs the evening we arrived (June06 2026)

It is your typical casino unfortunately not updated in years in the lobby in elevator location is in the smoking part of the casino so if you can’t do smoke, don’t do this property

Das Zimmer ist schön gross und entspricht genau den Fotos. Das Personal sehr freundlich. Parkplatz ist genügend vorhanden. Bad eher klein aber es reicht

Im Zimmer ist es recht hellhörig. Sei es von der Strasse oder was im Treppenhaus geht. Sonst nichts.

The room and the fireplace in it were all great and it was near the Great Basin National Park which was our reason for the visit

They were doing some construction and there was road construction right out front which I know is not the properties issue but did make it tough to get around

The room was a lovely historic (refurbished) look and very clean. The staff was friendly and welcoming.

The road construction is pretty loud but that will eventually be done.

I liked the old, train decor and that there was a King James Version Gideon's Bible in my room.
