We stayed 2 nights at Kanna Nivas, it's a Thanjavur style homestay as seen in the pics n beautiful stay ☺️ Very good breakfast served (additional charges), room spacious n clean, bathroom clean, kettle is there in the room with with refills. Thanjavur big temple is around 4 kms n easy to reach, not very crowded streets. Very good restaurant nearby to have dinner. Rajan n other staff were helpful n very good service. If at any time we go to Thanjavur in future, will definitely stay there😊 Thank you Indu Sunil

Enjoyed the stay at kanna nivas. Ambience is really good and made us to feel like home. Rooms are very neat and tidy. Onjal is the plus point. Staff rajan and nishanth are really very nice, affectionate and so friendly. We had breakfast and the food was yummy especially the dosas. Overall a very good place to stay with family and worth for the money spent.

The cleanliness and maintenance were poor, and the service was not responsive. The facilities did not match what was promised, making the stay uncomfortable and frustrating. Considering the price, I expected much better. I would not recommend this property and hope the management takes these issues seriously and improves the overall quality and service. The kitchen is untidy.

Beautiful heritage home that has been redesigned for a comfortable stay. The location is excellent - far from the crowds and noise but still close to the Big Temple. The best part of the start was the service and the home cooked meals. Our family of 8 had breakfast and dinner and it was simple but incredibly tasty south Indian traditional food. From the check in and check out experience, to handling our requests for beverages, to giving us recommendations for guides and sightseeing it was an A+ experience. Wholeheartedly recommend Kanna Nivas if you are visiting Thanjavur.

One of the best things was that they provided a scooty free of charge, which made exploring the area so convenient. The interiors are beautiful, thoughtfully designed, and give the place a very cozy and welcoming feel. Everything was well-maintained, and we genuinely enjoyed our time here. I liked the stay a lot. Me and my mom were traveling, all comforts were taken care off. They provided us authentic Tamil food for lunch and dinner at a very nominal cost. The property is clean and very well maintained . People who want the taste of real Tanjore ancient houses, should consider this great stay option. The property location is highly accessible and close by to both Brihadeeswarar temple and the Tanjavur junction.

Fantastic experience at Kanna Nivas ! The hosts were very warm and the food was just prefect and very homely. The heritage ambience was great and we got some beautiful photos as well. A must try for those coming to Tanjavur. They accommodated early check in for us at 0530AM amd it was very convenient for us !

Had a very pleasant stay at Kanna Nivas Home Stay. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and the overall atmosphere felt peaceful and homely. Only minor drawbacks were the location of the property, which may feel a little less convenient depending on your travel plans, and the bedsheets, which were slightly small and thin for the bed. Apart from that, the overall stay and hospitality were very good.

It was indeed nice stay here & we like all the artistic decorum, like wonderful devotional themes created using wonderful paintings & statues. Then we loved simple but fresh & testy breakfast...prepared freshly & served hot.. just like home only. Care taker Rajan was gentleman & kindly provided all necessary things. This was such a lovely homestay in Thanjavur. The room was really spacious and wonderfully furnished. The space was large enough to be comfortable and relaxing. I enjoyed the time I spent inside as well as outside. The bathroom was well-equipped and clean. The AC worked well and the windows could be opened as well whenever you preferred to let in fresh air. I also enjoyed sitting on the swing in the lounge area after a hard day of sightseeing. The décor was really pretty, welcoming, and offered the typical vibes of an old-fashioned Tamil home. I really enjoyed it. They also offered laundry facilities for a tip. The breakfast was varied everyday and pretty nice too. They offered eggs, idiyappam, idli, dosa, and pongal on varying days, along with tea and coffee. It is the type of place you sit out on a table with a bunch of other guests and eat. The staff was so helpful with everything. They ordered autos for us to get around and gave us tips for several things. And when my bag got left behind en route to Trichy, they even sent it to me in Chennai the same evening. Wonderful, wonderful service, and the staff was really, really awesome. I would heartily recommend this place for the amount of support I got.

I only had one quibble. The floor was always dusty and the guesthouse prohibited shoes around the house. A nicely carpeted or washed floor twice a day would fit in with this philosophy but this was not the case.

The hotel staff were very helpful and friendly. Rajan, the owner of the homestay, did everything to make my visit to Thanjavur unforgettable and comfortable at the same time. In the morning a driver was waiting in front of the villa to take me to the temple and the palace; during lunchtime a delicious biryani was served; and in the evening Rajan dropped me off at a delicious veg restaurant. Also he encouraged me to visit the temple at sunset again, which was really worth it! Would recommend this stay as it feels like home - except here the food is better and the house is more majestic ;).

10 minutes by tuk tuk to center of town, first room walls have no installation so we suffered from noise in the next room one night, other night was ok, service, breakfast and hospitality was great!

A beautifully decorated villa in Chettinad style, where every decoration and furniture is chosen with lots of taste. It is located in a quite and safe neighbourhood. The bed is nice and soft and we had an excellent sleep. What made our stay here out of the ordinary is the host, Rajan who caters for all your needs, while his brothers and sisters help with amenities or transport via the travel desk. It feels like a home away from home, so much needed when you come from so far away. We enjoyed all the vegetarian South-Indian meals, the explanations about ingredients and the chats at the dinner table. We chose to have all the meals in the house ( for a small additional price) We even could try our hand at making the dosa. Rajan is as well a trove of travel advice in the Thanjavur area and can organize a tuk-tuk to the closer locations like the temple or the palace. He organised also a nice and safe taxi driver to our next destination. We warmly recommend Rajan and this beautiful house for a Thanjavur visit.
