View With A Room NZ - Boutique Beachfront Accommodation on the Great Coast Road

So beautiful and well set out

The location is slightly distant from Greymouth (as advertised) but it exactly matched our plans to explore the surrounding coastal area. The host was very friendly and helpful.

We loved the view with a room! The sunset was truly incredible, unmatched views of the sea 😍 would highly recommend for a cosy getaway by the beach!

Little small but with views like that it didn’t matter!

Es war alles wunderbar: natürlich der Ausblick, die Lage, die wunderbare Gastgeberin - es war ein leider zu kurzer Aufenthalt in einem Paradies! Das zusätzliche Abendessen war exzellent und sehr lecker.

Excellent Location, View was outstanding, host was very friendly and nice.

Not really a fan of an attached room to a main property but for the one night heading back to Christchurch the next day it was OK. Need to consider eating options for the evening prior to arriving but that was made clear to us prior to arriving so all good.

schöne Unterkunft, tolle Aussicht, perfekter Zwischenstopp auf der Küstenstrasse. Fein, dass uns die Gastgeberin auch ein Abendessen angeboten hat, das sehr gut war. Das nächste Restaurant ist mindestens 20-30 min entfernt.

Es ist ein Studio in einer wunderschönen Lage. Durch die vielen Fenster hatten wir eine tolle Rundumsicht. Einzig die Sandflies störten. Es ist alles sehr kompakt, das Frühstück war gut frischen mit Eiern von eigenen Hühnern. Die Gastgeber sind superfreundlich und hilfsbereit. Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt sehr genossen.

We had an amazing stay at Room With a View. The accommodation was exceptionally clean, comfortable, and beautiful. Our host provided us with a delicious Christmas dinner and we felt at home and cared for. I would highly recommend this stay to anyone traveling in the area. I hope to come back again!!

The view, obviously. We also loved the eggs provided by the free-range hens each morning. We cooked them in the egg boiler - a neat machine that's easy to use.

Beautiful location and view!

View is amazing as in the picture, not only from the veranda but also from the room itself so even bad weather is no problem. High quality interior design and furnitures - very nice space!

Uiteraard viel bij de plek direct ‘the view’ op. Prachtig plek met uitzicht om de zee en golven die op de rotsen slaan. De prachtige zonsondergang was een bonus.

This place is so special. The view is spectacular, the room is cosy, the bed is excellent, the host very nice, dinner delicious. The possibility to have dinner at the deck or in the room made it even more special. It is a 20 minute drive to the Pancake rocks and the beach in front of the room is also very nice to have a walk. We watched a wonderful sunset and that made our stay complete!

Perfection. We had high expectations based on the photos and description and it did not disappoint. Absolutely stunning views. Very comfortable room with everything you could possibly want for a comfortable stay. Shirley and Marius were kind and thoughtful hosts. Can’t recommend enough.

The sandflies were annoying; however, the hosts had provided insect deterrent which meant we could sit outside to enjoy the view unbothered.

We loved the location and the view. It was warm and cosy and the bed was very comfy. Everything we needed was available.

There was nothing we didn’t like

Die Lage, ein Traum! Das Angebot der Gastgeberin für uns zu kochen, da das nächste Restaurant (vor allem zu unserer Reisezeit im nz Winter) mindestens eine 1/2 Autostunde entfernt gewesen wäre: einfach großartig! Sogar der Wunsch nach einem vegetarischen Hauptgericht war möglich, das Essen echt gut und preislich wirklich ok! Absolut empfehlenswert!

Das einzige, was schade war: Im Winter geht die Sonne früher unter, also war der, atemberaubende, Ausblick auf das Meer nicht so lange möglich. Aber dafür kann niemand etwas außer uns, die wir zu der Zeit gereist sind.

It’s very minor, but a small kitchenette might of been handy

The coastal view & location were amazing with the stormy weather being an added bonus for our 2 night stay...it was great to park up our car & not need it again as we certainly enjoyed our time exploring the beach & rugged coastline by foot plus relaxing inside the unit taking-in the wonderful ocean views. Thanks Shirley for a great stay.

Close to Greymouth by car, friendly host amazing views.

The location was spectacular but too remote from anything else for us. We drove by but did not stay. At least partially our mistake for not understanding the location well enough.

Amazing place! Gorgeous room and the view is to die for. Loved so many things about it. Excellent bed. Very comfortable. Lots of carefully thought out details. Good towels, beautiful bath, wonderful breakfast. All the little things we like. And a Nespresso machine. We had not see one on our entire trip and I miss from home. Great for a quiet stay.

Amazing view. Quiet location apart from the sound of the ocean. We loved falling to sleep listening to the crashing of the waves. Very clean comfortable room. Lovely breakfast with their hens eggs.

The room was very hot when we arrived back from a walk on the beach, the air conditioning took ages to cool it down. Luckily we didn’t need it through the night as opening the window and door were sufficient. Could do with some shade on the balcony.

The view is truly amazing. The room and its bathroom are studied in their details and incredibly comfortable. Shirley has been very welcoming and everything was perfect. PS: if you go out, do use the sandflies repellant! They can be nasty

Very special place, You will love it.

The beachfront accommodation was extremely tidy and well appointed. The beach itself and bush are wild, lush and beautiful. Shirley, a lovely host, made every request possible. The breakfast with brewed coffee, fresh home laid eggs, marmalade, toast, buns, fresh milk, different cereals, yoghurt and fruits was complete. We enjoyed the stay very much and the various activities such as pancake rocks and several hikes in the dense forest. Highly recommend.

A bit of too much rain and the occasional sand flies.

Incredible location with spectacular scenery and coastal views. One of the most unique places to appreciate the natural beauty of the fauna and sea. Shirley is a wonderful host and has brilliant apartment that caters incredibly well for your needs. Lovely well designed room, with a classy bathroom and very comfortable bed. One of the best and most memorable locations.
