Onda D'oro Hostel

What a wonderful stay! The staff were so warm, friendly and welcoming, and the room was absolutely amazing spacious, beautifully presented and with a fantastic view. I espacially loved the fantastic wine collecting. 🍷🥰 A lovely personal highlight was discovering that the chef had studied in the UK. Being from England myself, it created an instant connection and made me feel even more at home. The food, hospitality and attention to detail were all exceptional. It was such a relaxing experience, and I’m so glad I chose to stay here. I would highly recommend it and would absolutely love to return! ❤️

Sehr freundliche Eigentümer bzw. Betreiber des Hostels. Sie sind stets sehr freundlich und halfen uns sehr gut z.B. Einrichtung des Kakao Taxi App am Smartphone. Sehr schöne idyllische Teil von Yeosu. Wir hatten viele positive Begegnungen mit den Einheimischen z.B. Fischer oder Bewohner, die so freundlich und authentisch sind. Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt im ruhigeren und idyllischen Teil ohne Massentourismus von Yeosu sehr genossen.

Es gab nur wenige Ablagemöglichkeiten für die Kleidung, da es keine Schrank und Haken oder Ähnliches im Zimmer gibt. Im Badezimmer gibt es keine Ablagemöglichkeiten. Wir mussten den gesamten Aufenthalt "aus dem Koffer" leben. Für unsere 6 Nächte ging es noch aber für längeren Aufenthalt sollte man das beachten. Dennoch ist das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis insgesamt sehr gut.

The view is amazing. The rooftop view is absolutely a bonus.

The pillow can be more comfortable.

깨끗하고 뷰가 정말 아름답고 좋아요. 가격도 너무 좋았고 특히 주방이 있어서 잘 이용했어요. 사장님도 친절하시네요.

Der Balkon und die verschiedenen Terrassen des Hostels mit Blick auf die Fischerboote, das glitzernde Wasser und den Strand/die Insel dahinter fanden wir großartig. Zudem haben wir uns in das Fischerdorf verliebt, von dem das Hostel umgeben ist. Eine Insel der Authentizität im oft recht konstruiert wirkenden Yeosu. Hoffentlich bleibt es noch lange so! Es gab gute Einkaufsmöglichkeiten sowie Cafés in der Umgebung, eins auch im Haus. Das Personal erlebten wir als sehr hilfsbereit und freundlich.

Wir möchten dies nicht als Kritik am Hostel verstanden haben, sondern als Hinweis für Gäste, die möglicherweise ähnlich ahnungslos nach Yeosu reisen wie wir: Yeosu ist ein weitläufiges Konglomerat von Orten mit verschiedenen Zentren. Einige Sehenswürdigkeiten und ein Strand sind vom Hostel aus super zu erreichen. Andere befinden sich jedoch weit entfernt. Wer kein Auto hat und wie wir als Nicht-Koreaner:innen kein Fahrrad mieten kann, ist auf die umständliche Streckenführung der öffentlichen Verkehrsmittel angewiesen oder wandert durch die Stadt und die Parks und Wälder, die die einzelnen Teile trennen. Da vergehen schon mal eineinhalb bis zwei Stunden, bis der eigentliche Ausflug überhaupt erst beginnen kann, obwohl man sich immer noch im Stadtgebiet befindet. Beide Bahnhöfe Yeosus sind vom Hostel aus mit öffentlichen Verkehrsmitteln nicht direkt zu erreichen. Die Inselwelt ist aufgrund des zeitlichen Aufwands ohne Auto/Fahrrad nur begrenzt zu erkunden. Wir empfehlen, das in die Planung einzubeziehen.

I had a really pleasant stay here. The host was very friendly and welcoming. The room was clean, comfortable, and had everything I needed. I especially loved the balcony view - it was beautiful and relaxing. The location is also very convenient, close to the beach and easy to get around. There are many great local restaurants nearby, so finding delicious food was easy. I would definitely stay here again.

Very clean and comfortable! Excellent location for travelling around the south and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The downstair bar/restaurant served a wonderful squid bibimbap! Would definitely visit again!

Le personnel est au petit soin pour nous, la chambre est immense avec coin cuisine. Le rooftop est un plus, surtout pour le sunset!! Merci pour l accueil , je reviendrai sans hésiter

사장님 친절하시고 시설이 깔끔하고 특히 침구 린넨이 깨끗하면서 매트리스가 편안했습니다 바로 앞에 선소대교가 보여 야경이 멋지고 1층 카페 음료도 맛있었습니다~ 그리고 주방식기도 사기그릇이라 너무 좋았습니다~~ 강추합니다^^

The guy at the reception was very friendly an helpful. He explained everything to us when we arrived, he gave us his business card to ask anything if we encounter any problems. They cleaned our room when we were not around and the room was very clean.

The properly was cozy, had a very familiar, almost old-school comfortable style. The staff were extremely nice and helpful. The view on the terrace was amazing as well

Very clean, large rooms, nice view of Jangdo Island. Service was excellent, especially Mr. Yeun who was very helpful, professional and friendly.

The bathroom is too dark and crowded with shower, toilet and washing basin. A bit far from city commercial area. Lack of public transport, and needs taxi to go anywhere.

Everhthing was very nice. The fotoes in internet are telling the truth. The hostes is clever, she speek english, is very good shef and she make your staying more beautiful . The site is wondefull. It is a studio with all facilities, clean and worm

Comfortable and large room, like a small flat, with balcony, overlooking the fishing port. Restaurant downstairs open till 10pm.

Location is very nice but long way from older part of town. You'll need a car, or will have to rely on taxis.

I have to thank Jennifer for all the help she gave me, including driving me to a restaurant my first night there and helping me to plan my one full day in Yeosu. The room was very comfortable, spacious with a good bathroom. The view of the bridge and across to the town was lovely..

No breakfast is served. The location is quite far from most attractions in Yeosu with an infrequent bus service, so you have to resort to taxis to get anywhere.

I couldn’t stay at the hotel due to an illness the day before but I think that the location and value for money could have been quite good

I cancelled my room since I was sick in the hospital on check-in day but they didn’t want to refund the price since it was their policy. It would have been nice to show some kindness but they were quite strict. Also, they never replied to my messages or mail. Otherwise I can’t say more since I didn’t stay there.

The staff was very friendly and helped us with recommendations and with ordering food late when most restaurants were closed.

I loved everything. I had a very comfortable stay. I particularly loved the massive glass sliding doors in the room, excellent quality, heavy sturdy feel. There were excellent blackout curtains, too. I chose to leave the curtains open and woke up daily with the sunrise. I had such a beautiful view from my bed. Ooo the shower and bathroom were really nice to use, too! Jennifer was warm, welcoming, and knowledgeable; she made my stay lovely from the beginning until the end <3

The view from the room was the best! The area is nice and quiet. We were greeted kindly and always received support for our plans around Yeosu.

The room was huge and has its own kitchen area. Additionally you have a balcony with a great view of the harbour. Bathroom is great too and the whole room was clean. Many great restaurants in walking distance. Good starting point to travel along the peninsula with a car/scooter.

The location is a little hard to get to and to get around if you don't have your own mode of transportation. If you rented a car or in our case a scooter its no problem. Some wallpaper missing bit i don't mind because it all seemed clean. The price is not a bargain but considering what you get also not overpriced.

The staff in the hostel were really great and there is a lovely lady that speaks English too. The rooftop has BBQ area, which unfortunately we did not get to use due to rain. The attached restaurant has delicious food and a good wine selection.

We stayed for a longer period of time but I think it is more suitable for shorter visits. The beds seemed a bit uncomfortable to sleep on. A bit more attention needs to be paid to dusting of the rooms. But overall cleanliness was good.

Beautiful views from balcony and excellent hospitality. The owner gave us a ride to the laundry facility and loaned us a unbralla!
