The location is amazing for countryside and access to London it was ideal. Absolutely fine for us all. The dogs had a fabulous time as did the owners. My girls and boys found a lovely racetrack to use lol! Absolutely loved the area and the cabin.
No oven and garden needs a review as my little dogs managed to keep finding ways to have adventures. One even found a weakness in the fencing and got out lucky they are usually well trained in coming back.
Great location - not far from the M25 and practically on Chorleywood Common which is lovely. Great dog friendly pub in walking distance. Nice log-burner. A lovely guy in the house opposite who cut us some wood for the fire. Unsure if he was connected to the property as he didn’t introduce himself.
The lack of cleanliness throughout. Dirty dishes and cups upon arrival, hair in the shower and a shower drain that was either blocked or wasn’t fit for purpose - it didn’t take long for the shower to start overflowing out onto the tiny bathroom floor and into the main area. The arrival details said a ‘basket with logs’ would be there - we arrived to one giant log. Too big for the small burner. The fridge/freezer was COMPLETELY overflowing with dirty ice. Absolutely disgusting. Couldn’t get anything in the freezer, nor did we want to. Because of this the fridge struggled to maintain its temperature so we didn’t bother storing much food in it and had to go out to eat. The bed has a really soft mattress, so if one person moves everyone moves. With a mattress topper that is too small for the mattress. So all the pillows end up going beneath the creaky bars of the bed frame in the night - not great for a restful nights sleep. Did we report any of it? No. We checked to see if there were any other dog friendly vacancies in the area which there weren’t. Plus our check-in experience dampened our hope for communication and resolution since on booking our confirmation said to check-in at 2pm. On the day of arrival the welcome document received said 2pm. Then, we received a message saying to come at 3pm. We assumed it was a typo, luckily we checked. It wasn’t a typo and it had been changed on the day with no prior warning or understanding. We were assured they could see the discrepancy in all of the documentation, however they had been busy….. This was all hours before arrival and since we were already on our way, we ended up sitting in the car for an hour while we waited for the dirty cabin to be ready.
beautiful outside space, garden was nice and good outside heating
The mattress on the bed was to soft and the bed and needed lot of oiling as it made a lot of noise. The oven was a microwave oven so was very small. The driveway was in a really bad condition making it practically impossible to use.
Really clean, nice little place, ideal as a base for walking
The lodge is in a beautiful location right on the edge of Chorleywood Common, with a lovely little garden.
The drive down to the parking space is a bit tricky but we were warned and there is alternative parking across the road.
