The space is huge, the surroundings are extremely scenic and pleasant.

The walls are very thin, we can hear the other bedroom from one bedroom even though people were talking softly. We had some issues with the bathrooms and have settled it with the hotel management with a satisfied resolution.

Appartamento molto grande e veramente bello, con affaccio con vista sul lago. Un po' complicato trovare l'appartamento arrivando tardi, le indicazioni non sono chiarissime. Si vede che la struttura ha qualche anno ma è tutto pulito e comodo, stanze ampie e ciascuna con il suo bagno privato.

Les alentours sont d’une grande beauté : en bord de mer mais aussi dans un bois où vous pouvez croiser des biches et leur faons. Un sauna est à l’intérieur de la maison qui est spacieuse et bien équipée. Seul le canapé etait un peu abîmé. Vous avez une grande terrasse vue mer. À noter qu’on est loin de tous commerces donc prévoir la nourriture avant d’y aller. Je recommande cet endroit magnifique.

The scenery was just perfect, it was so quiet you could hear a pin drop. Only 25 mins drive into Oban. The beds were really comfortable and had plenty of space for a family of 4 with 2 dogs.

The water temperature for both showers and sink taps was verging on cold. We did mention this to reception. Non-working bulbs need replacing. The shower taps are lose need tightening. The cleanliness could be improved (under beds especially - I dropped a pen under the bed and had to push it to get it back, was astounded at the amount of dust). It would be handy to have available a proper brush and mop to clean the floors as all hard flooring throughout. Whilst there was a brush and pan available, it wasn’t suitable to do the full house. These are all minor things that would enhance a stay especially when paying over £1000. We would still stay again.

Overall experience Unfortunately, our experience with this property was extremely disappointing. Problems began before arrival and continued throughout our stay, with significant concerns regarding the booking process, cleanliness, maintenance, security and customer service. Booking and arrival Before our stay, one of the five nights was cancelled because the property had apparently been double booked. This occurred after we had paid in full and received confirmation of a five-day stay. Neither Booking.com nor the vendor accepted responsibility, so it was impossible to establish who was at fault. The situation was poorly handled and no compensation was offered towards the additional cost of finding alternative accommodation for the cancelled night. Cleanliness The property had clearly not been cleaned to an acceptable standard prior to arrival. Although it has a beautiful view, the windows were filthy and the floors were so dirty that we did not feel comfortable walking barefoot. There was body hair in the shower, and when my handbag fell onto the floor and some of its contents went underneath the bed, I discovered that the area underneath had not been cleaned. There was an earplug and someone else's dirty socks underneath the bed. The property also had an unpleasant smell, including a distinct dog smell coming from the living area and sofa. The white leather sofas were visibly dirty and in need of a thorough clean. Maintenance and furnishings There were numerous maintenance issues throughout the property: The living-room sofa had a missing leg and was broken. The worktops were damaged and had noticeable gouges. Furniture was mismatched and appeared cheap and poorly maintained. The beds were uncomfortable, and the bed linen was cheap and ill-fitting. The blinds were broken. Both of the wall-mounted toilets was installed so high that, despite being almost 6ft tall, I could not comfortably put my heels on the floor when sitting down.

Fantastic location on the loch head. Short walk from a decent pub. Short drive from Oban. the Sauna was a nice extra. Apartment was well furnished, everything we needed. Comfy couch and TV with all the streaming services.

The apartment was less private than we had expected from the pictures - all apartments overlook each other, and there is very little privacy. Beds could be more comfortable.

The location was amazing. And the views spectacular. The garden was gorgeous. A real bonus. The whole place was spacious and bright. Plenty of parking right outside.

No sound proofing so disturbed by neighbours above. Lacked some basics (eg kitchen scissors, chopping boards). The pillows were too flimsy. And we just thought things were generally a bit tired.

Really enjoyed our visit and looking forward to coming back in October was not long enough and weather was bad so could not explore 😀

We had really noisy people stay in apartment upstairs so did not sleep well as they came in late and was thumping about till 1.30am maybe later was not your fault but it has not put us off from coming back

The view was absolutely amazing the perfect place to relax, the property was stunning had everything we needed for a perfect stay. And the staff were so lovely! Will definitely be back

Piękny widok, ładny ośrodek. W domku mieliśmy nawet saunę i wannę z hydromasażem, jednakże z racji krótkiego pobytu nie udało nam się skorzystać.

We stayed in the Harbour Master Garden suite. The accommodation was fantastic and very spacious. It was very clean and Hazel was a good host and attended to queries promptly. We took very nice long walks.

It was mentioned that there was a steam room/sauna but apparently not at this house. We were also under the impression that we would be able to use the facilities at Melfort Village but it is completely different entities. The outside braai was also a disposable braai that we could use on the grass. I think that the owner of the unit should update this house at booking.com as it may cause confusion and stipulate that the Melfort Pier and Harbour is completely apart from Melfort Village. For foreign visitors it might not be so easy to distinguish between the two areas.

The attitude of the reception was the worst, she was rude and when i asked about the key she was yelling at me.

Die Lage war sehr schön, aber leider konnten wir aufgrund des Regens nicht draußen sitzen. Die Aussicht war trotzdem super. In der Wohnung fanden wir alles, was wir brauchten und die Sauna war natürlich perfekt für das Wetter. Die Gegend ist wirklich wunderschön und man viel unternehmen. Hazel, unsere Vermieterin, hat uns sehr freundlich empfangen.

Das Schlafsofa für die 3. Person war nicht so gut.

Vue extraordinaire sur le loch, très paisible au coeur de la nature, logement très bien équipé (cuisine, sauna). Instructions très claires. On aurait aimé y séjourner plus longtemps.

Absolutely stunning setting. The Mermaid Gafden Suite was exceptional too - clean, well equipped. Hazel was lovely too. Would love to return.

The view

The photos were misleading, the property wasnt as spacious and modern as the photos depicted. It was our wedding anniversary and supposed to be a special treat, but the sauna didn’t work properly, the baths were old and didn’t work and it was generally under the spec I thought I was paying for. It was a lot of money and compared to the treehouse I also had on the shortlist, it fell well under par. The sauna was the deciding factor and it was old and unpredictable. My husband didn’t feel safe when he tried to use it. Very disappointing and gutted I spent so much as it simply wasn’t worth it.

We stayed at Melfort Pier & Harbour Resort for three nights with a group of friends and had a really enjoyable stay. The location is absolutely stunning, right on the shores of the loch, with beautiful views and a wonderfully peaceful atmosphere. It was the perfect place to relax while also being only around 30 minutes from Oban, making it an ideal base for exploring the surrounding area. Our accommodation was spacious, clean and thoughtfully designed. The bedrooms were a good size, the en-suite bathrooms were modern and well maintained, and the property had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We also appreciated that the resort is dog-friendly, which is a real bonus for those travelling with pets, although the additional charge of £12 per dog, per night is worth noting. The grounds were very well kept, and it was clear that a lot of care goes into maintaining the resort. Everyone we encountered was friendly, and the gardener in particular was very welcoming, adding to the relaxed and pleasant atmosphere.

There were just a couple of small areas where we felt improvements could be made. The towels seemed quite worn and could probably do with being replaced. One in particular had an unpleasant smell despite clearly having been washed. As we stripped the beds before leaving, we also noticed that some of the pillows were showing signs of age, with noticeable yellowing, so refreshing these would help the accommodation feel even cleaner and more premium. These were relatively minor points and certainly didn’t take away from what was otherwise a lovely stay. Overall, we’d happily recommend Melfort Pier & Harbour Resort to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway in a spectacular location, particularly if you’re planning to explore Oban and the west coast while enjoying a quieter base.

Location and size .. Hazel was excellent …

The property was in such a beautiful location and Views were beautiful. Was definitely big enough for 4 adults 2 children and a dog. The ice in the freezer was a godsend because of the warm weather.

I kinda thought that the property was not as luxurious as I thought. The jacuzzi bath wasn’t working properly, and the sofa was a bit tiered looking. Because we had the dog and the children it might have been an idea to put some kind of gate at the bottom of the path. The tv in the main room wasn’t working either. The windows in the downstairs living room wasn’t working properly. Didn’t think the property was worth what I paid for it for 3 nights 🥲.

Besonders toll ist der Ausblick. Die Wohnung ist sauber, geschmackvoll und sehr modern. Wir würden sofort wieder kommen.

The house had everything we could need from two toilets to a sauna! Great soundproofing meant our stay was quiet and private. A French Press for coffee, lots of cutlery and crockery, an adequate fridge and freezer and a very large TV. We had everything we could want and the reception lady helped straight away when we needed assistance. The area is simply divine. Beautiful. We walked up into the sanctuary, the views are spectacular. Honestly worth the visit.

Honestly, I liked pretty much everything. There is nothing to rate badly. If I had to be really picky, I would struggle to find a problem. The house is lovely, the setting perfect.

Nowhere near enough kitchen equipment. Lots missing. Needed parasol in garden as it's been hot. Smelly cushions in lounge. Not enough attention to detail, given what it has cost to stay for one week.

Lovely location, fantastic views! Hazel in reception was very helpful when we had a couple of requests.

Slightly slippy floors due to rain, but Hazel provided an additional floor mat when we raised this. The kitchen would have benefitted from a second set of crockery and cutlery, but you just have to run the dishwasher twice a day. Patio furniture was not terribly comfortable to sit on so perhaps some seat pads could be provided as it's a fantastic spot where you could sit for hours enjoying the views.

I stayed in the Skipper Suite for 2 nights..immaculate inside with Lovely large windows that look onto the Loch which offer stunning views..It also has excellent facilities to cook your own food and the bedroom/ensuites are first class as well..very premium. If youre after somewhere quiet, relaxing with stunning views i really can't think of a better place than here.

My only issue is the lack of Air Con.. If youre booked to go on a roasting hot couple of days..anything above 20c (roasting for Scotland) then due to the Skipper Suites large windows it does trap in the heat making it feel like 35c inside. Opening the windows and patio doors offers little ventilation with the sun shining right in. I brought a tower fan so it offered some relief..bring a couple if that would be an issue for u. If u hadn't brought it I think it would have been unbearable for my wee dog..

Location is stunning. Property was very clean. Hazel is amazing and whatever she is being paid, it should be double!!

My daughter got locked in the en suite and read from another review that this had happened previously to someone else! The toaster tripped a switch which meant the fridge, kettle and tv were not useable. Hazel came up with a solution but wasn’t a super convenient one (moved our food to an empty property then had to retrieve it the next day once other guests were inside!).

It is modern, clean and really quiet there. We really enjoyed our week. Hazel is a wonderful person who helps right away. We strongly recommend this resort.

The bed in the master bed room could be a bigger size but that is it

Size and position of the property was excellent. Fully kitted out with everything you could need. The sauna being an added bonus. Bed very comfortable and shower great.

Couldn’t get the TV or shower in the main bedroom to work but it didn’t affect our stay as the peace and tranquility was what we wanted and we used the other shower.

Pillows were very flat. Bed could do with a topper wasn’t super comfortable. Shower could have been warmer, better pressure.

Lovely location with views across the loch. The apartment was spacious and equipped to a very high standard. The host was friendly and helpful throughout our stay.

I would recommend requesting a first floor apartment as you could hear people moving around upstairs.

Great location on the water and friendly staff - Hazel is a star! In-house sauna is a plus.

The fridge still had contents in it from the previous guests. The double bed is as advertised but for a 6’2”person, your feet will be pressed up against the footboard. Kitchen faucet came away in our hands as soon as we touched it (that may have been the previous guest who didn’t report it to management). Guests are asked to take glass bottles to the nearby recycling center. Is this really a guests responsibility? Thought management would collect them and drop off at their convenience.

The property was perfect (bridge deck) had everything we needed including a sauna and jacuzzi bath! The manager Hazel was great, very helpful and knowledgeable about the area.

The host was brilliant, really funny and Fruin was a joy!! The boat house had a sauna that we were not expecting and was brilliant. Really gorgeous place to stay and would recommend. The story about the cat was brilliant! And the hope of seeing the resident otter was great too.

Felt like the boathouse could do with a deep clean, lots of animal hair on stairs, food in the back of the fridge, just a wee bit of a clean. Mattress in the front room needs replaced too.

Whilst we realise that the bathrooms are designed to cater for disabilities, it makes them less comfortable for able bodied people.

Sauna et bain à bulles hors service, sièges des wc non fixés, il faudrait un peu plus de couverts et envisager de remplacer le matelas de la chambre donnant sur le parking car les ressorts sont usés. Les autres matelas étaient confortables.

Es ist eine einzigartige Lage, direkt am Wasser, sehr abgelegen, das hat uns- Familie- gut gefallen Die Natur und Vegetation ist unglaublich schön, auch bei fast Mal stärkerem , mal schwächerem Dauerregen, der nur kurz von einigen Sonnenminuten unterbrochen wurde. Das Apartment ist sehr großzügig, mit en suite Badezimmern. Auch eine kleine Sauna ist dabei, sehr angenehm b kälteren Temperaturen. Die Küche ist gut ausgestattet, man findet alles um gut kochen zu können. Es ist auch eine Waschmaschine vorhanden.

Die Küche war bei unserer Ankunft nicht so sauber, wie wir es gewünscht hätten, da war das Waschbecken ordentlich zu putzen und auch die Arbeitsflächen.

Steep stairs and uncomfortable mattress

Hazel and her team are great - very helpful and welcoming. The views are stunning, and there are many nearby places worth visiting. We loved the sauna and the back garden, especially enjoying our morning coffee with such beautiful scenery.

A few appliances weren’t in the best shape, but this small issue didn’t affect our stay. We reported it, and it turned out they had already been ordered but hadn’t arrived yet.

Tolle Lage und viel Platz, es wird auf Nachtruhe hingewiesen und diese auch eingehalten. Wir hatten sehr viel Platz. Selbstverorger ist wörtlich zu nehemn, außer Salz und Pfeffer, etwas Tee und Kaffee ist nichts an Lebensmitteln vor Ort. Was aber auch im Vorfeld komuniziert wurde.

Wir waren in einem 6 Personenhaus und es gab nur eine kleine Pfanne und zweei Töpfe. Wer hier kochen möchte muss kreativ sein oder in Schichten kochen. Kaffeemaschine ist nicht vorhanden, aber Wasserkocher.

The lochside location was splendid and we were able to enjoy sitting out on the balcony. The property was spacious and warm. We appreciated being able to walk to the Gunpowder Kitchen for dinner (15 mins), along the beautiful, quiet road

The cleaning was sub-standard, with dog hairs on the sofa and mats, surfaces in the bathroom hadn't been cleaned. This issue was however addressed immediately. The bedrooms are very bright early morning, so recommend bringing a mask if the light bothers you. Some towels could do with replacing.

This place was everything! Hazel was an amazing host that couldn't do enough for us. The place is so beautiful it belongs in a postcard and we were so lucky with the weather as well which just made it incredible. Houses are spacious and beautiful, saunas are an amazing touch and the value for money is unmatched. We are so happy that we are booking again for next year!
