Food and the facility
Owner suggest good place to vist and have food there homemade food is tastes very good and its not just like a hotel is like home they very welcoming persons
Excellent property of homestay. Uncle treated us like his very own family and was extremely warm and welcoming. The home is very beautiful and well maintained. The surroundings are also very well maintained and very very clean. It's a must visit if ever visiting coorg. Choose to stay here in the peaceful and silent surroundings as compared to the crowded main areas.
We are being vegetarians, they cooked special coorg Veg items for Dinner and Breakfast. The property owner guided us well even before our journey started from Bangalore as to what places we can see before coming and place of lunch etc. He took us through a coffee plantation walk-through which is adjacent to misty retreat which our kids enjoyed very well.
None.
The location of the property is amidst lush green area and coffee plantations, still closer to the town Madhapur. Nice to take walk around the places in the morning. Excellent hospitality and made us to feel like home. Home stay was really 'home' stay. Mr. Boppaiah and his family have taken extra care and remarkable hospitality, which is unmatched with any other stay. In simple, our stay was 'Excellent'.
We liked everything at this home stay during excellent monsoon weather
House was really good, the interior ambience was like ancients home with lot of crafting and stuff, all type of facilities are available
We had a pleasant stay at Misty Retreat Homestay in Coorg. Uncle and Aunty, our hosts, welcomed us warmly and made us feel at home. Aunty prepared delicious local delicacies for us, which added a special touch to our experience. Uncle was very helpful in planning our daily sightseeing itinerary, which made our trip smooth and enjoyable. Overall, I would definitely recommend this homestay to anyone visiting Coorg.
The only minor issue was that the fan speed in the room could have been better. We visited during the first week of June, and it was quite hot — the fan felt a bit slow for the weather. Still, the hospitality and comfort made up for it.
The host Mrs & Mr Bopaiah were absolutely fantastic. Mr Bopaiah reached out well in advance sharing all details about the stay, place and offering help and guidance on moving around Coorg. Food, especially all the local cuisine, both veg and non veg, was absolutely fantastic. We were lucky to have tried and relished ALL local Coorgi cuisine during our 3 days stay there. Mrs Bopaiah is a great cook. The drive to Misty Retreat is beautiful, driving thru the coffee plantation on both sides was wonderful and relaxing. The room was spacious, clean and all amenities available including hot water all the time. A calm and quiet place yet you feel the warmth of a home....
I was a fantastic stay at Misty retreat.
Overall it was a very good experience staying in this property. Owner and his family is very good and kind hearted and they made my trip a good memory. I can truely say this property felt like a home.
Everthing was good. (As it is a homestay don't expect much luxuries)
Friendly uncle and Aunty. Uncle guided us for the trips and site seeings. Nice home food prepared by themselves was superb.
Property was truly like a "stay at home" or "stay at friends' home". Hospitality was good. Madikeri style food was good and new for us.
Wifi signal was not reachable to the room.
The ambience was excellent and hospitality was very good. The stay was amazing with the scrumptious food and everything was very well taken care of
Location is slightly away from Madikeri but location had ample car parking. Food was good and mainly health conscious. They arranged for dinner and driver's food for a reasonable cost.
Property will need to allow flexibility to use geyser within bathrooms. However they had a centralized solar one which will restrict our usage only for the mornings. This can change. Also if there is a driver accompanying you i believe they can try to arrange for a place for him to rest. Our driver stayed at the car itself for both the days.
Delicious Coorg's home-cooked food in a pleasant environment. Aunty and Uncle are very amiable. They offer excellent hospitality and tour guidance. Guys who help are amazing.
Nothing to dislike.
Overall neatness was very good and good service
It was a very comfortable stay for couples and family. Uncle and aunty are very friendly and welcoming. Food is also excellent. I will definitely suggest the fish and pork.
Breakfast was good so the location is.
Some more option can be provided in Dinner and breakfast.
The hospitality was were good by hosts and workers ., Food was excellent. Preferably for large family trips and to stay for couple of days to relax.
Our hosts, Uncle and Aunty, were exceptionally hospitable, and the cuisine was excellent. It truly feels like a home away from home.
The location was great....Host was just great...helped us in making our itenary to cover places in coorg....made us feel comfortable at the property

The Ambiance and the owners behaviour
Not that I can think of anything.
Good
Nice comfortable villa with very good hospitality. The hosts were too kind and made sure that we have a nice time there.
There nothing specific but I was expecting the property was inside a coffee estate, but it was not.
Good
Food. Stay. Hospitality.
Nothing
The stay at the property was relaxing except for few things. House owner was cooperative and concerned. Assisted us in any help required. Early checkin was accepted by them which is great. Aunty herself made tea for us all as she had no staff.
Stay was good but felt it was overpriced. We arrived in last week of April which was actually a little off season to visit this type of place. It was extream hot days and night are comfortable. 1. The rooms did not has AC which actually needed especially for kids when they come after visiting a place. Hot air blow from fan is very uncomfortable. 2. One of the room which we booked did not had ceiling fan, however wall support side fan was available but not suitable for this room. 3. We stayed 2 nights in the following 4 rooms but no room cleaning was made during the stay due to lack of staff as he went to his native for vote and bla bla.. 4. First day breakfast had shortage, so we need to wait a couple of minutes for the uncle to bring breakfast for us from some hotel nearby. Second day we managed. 4. However the owner told that he has cook and servant but during my 2 night stay in the property, not a single staff/service available. My queation is then why should our family and kids suffer bexause of their unavailability afterall we paid total amount without any concession. So felt stay as a normal stay with just rooms and their amminities. 5.Bathrooms in all rooms, shower head not operational and clogged. No linen change for next day made. No bathroom towel/ shower towel provided. Bodywash was placed in one of the bathroom that too was expired. Moral is this Misty Retreat of Pragati house is an average homestay. I expected a lot for my first time trip with 3 families together but ce out to be a normal average homestay. Actually if i would have asked for extra service for the non availabilty of these above mentioned things then definately they would have provided some of them, but i didn't asked them thinking they are old and only 2 of them staying in that homestay, it would be difficult for them. So thinking out of courtisey, i didn't asked for anything rather i managed. So felt it was overpriced for the amount we paid.
We had complimentary breakfast on two days only. it was good. It was a pet friendly property and there is lot of space in the property for the pet. But room was a little smaller to accommodate the pet and two adults.
WiFi was not working in the room or common area unless we come to dining room on the ground floor. Network was also very weak in the area. Lot of stray dogs and pet dogs also to create nuisance by barking during the night.
Very Good host .
Toilet could have been more cleaner.
House is located on the hill surrounded by greenery. It is a scenic beauty looking out from the terrace. Room size is good for a couple along with attached balcony. Food served was very nice. Owner is quite knowledgeable about the place and would suggest all the places that can be visited and will also help you plan your itinerary. We enjoyed our stay and looking forward to meet them again in our next visit.
Homestay was great and the neighbourhood as well. Had a early monring walk around the place and it was awesome. Peoperty owner Mr.Boppiah is great human who voluntarily helped from the day I booked the property till I checked out. Still having contact with him and he became as a family friend.
Uncle and Aunty are really nice hosts. The homecooked food is awesome. They guide us very well for planning our itenary. The stay is beautiful, off road and serene with spacious rooms and balcony.
Staff and owner behavior is very good.
Good hospitality and treated us like family members.... really we enjoyed the food 😋..

Nice surroundings beautifuly designed
Not dislike but suggestions to have mattresses without spring as because many of us are not habituated on sleeping on that
At Misty Retreat, u get blown away in 3 stages.. 1st the picture perfect Bungalow- Pragati with its ample space and garden. 2nd, the polite and warm hospitality of the staff-Sathish & Jayavanthi and their 3 lovely kids, who tend to all ur needs with a smile on their face from the moment u enter the property till u leave(including the owner- Mr. Bopaiya and even their dog- blackie) 3rd, the convenient but quiet location of the property- u can drive to the peak or Madikeri with ease but it's away from any noise or bustle of the town. Honourable Mention: if u're there, u should try the homemade wine made by the lady of the house- Mrs. Bopaiya herself.
Just one word of caution. We got worse room than our driver strictly in terms of comparison(it was still good), because of some miscommunication. You can clearly ask for a cheaper accommodation for ur own driver or chauffeur which will still be pretty good.
The location of the homestay was perfect. Far from the crowd, next to a coffee estate. The food cooked was delicious. Both the veg platters and the nonveg food was finger licking. The rooms were extremely clean and the staff was very accomodative and polite. Will highly recommend the homestay for anyone looking to stay outside of Madikeri.

The location of the homestay was simply breathtaking. Nestled amidst the lush greenery and mist-covered hills of Coorg, it felt like a tranquil oasis. The surroundings were serene, providing the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. Waking up to the sounds of chirping birds and the gentle rustle of leaves was a delightful way to start each day. The hosts of the homestay were incredibly gracious and welcoming. They went above and beyond to ensure that my stay was comfortable and enjoyable. From the moment I stepped through the door, I was treated like family. They took the time to share their local knowledge and offer valuable insights into the best places to visit and the must-try dishes in Coorg.
The accommodation itself was cozy and well-appointed. The rooms were clean, spacious, and tastefully decorated, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. The attention to detail was evident in every aspect, from the comfortable bedding to the thoughtful amenities provided. I felt right at home throughout my stay.
It gives you a homely environment. Everything was awesome . Their home cooked food and obviously the host were generous and great people . I will recommend everyone to stay there . Loved and enjoyed my stay . Thank you Misty retreat for such a wonderful experience.
Nothing . Everything was nice .
