Breakfast very good.
Booked as we had a wedding at Tower Hill Barns so location was ideal. I'd never stayed at a pub before and I have to say the Wynnstay Arms was excellent. Nice staff, lovely venue, good size room, clean and great breakfast.
Could hear road noise however I expected that may be the case so had taken ear plugs and had no issue after that.
I loved how modern it was
I loved everything about the property
Lovely area to stay in. The property is also lovely. Staff are very welcoming too.

Lovely room with lots of space, friendly and helpful staff, excellent breakfast. We also ate in the bar area when we arrived and the food was lovely.
Comfortable bed. Good breakfast
We were told we had rooms with baths. We didn’t and one shower door was broken.
Cleaning
Property had character and felt welcoming. Room was spacious and very clean. Free onsite parking with CCTV. Breakfast was excellent. Staff very friendly and helpful.
Wasn’t able to open the window and room was very warm. A fan was provided though. Some noise from the extraction unit outside.
Duch a lovely place very relaxing
We loved the colour and decor in the hotel rooms, they were also spotlessly clean. All the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. We had a lovely lunch and amazing breakfast here. Lots of choice to be had.
Nothing we didn't like
+ tolle Lage + charmante Unterkunft + bequemes Bett + leckeres Essen
- leider hat hinter dem Haus die Klimaanlage, Lüfter oder Generator die ganze Nacht gebrummt
Everything, excellent room, fantastic food. Big enclosed carpark for our motorcycles. Stayed in room 1, accessibility room. Massive shower, big room.
The bathroom could do with a deep clean. The shower chair is dirty with mould on the legs.
Breakfast was lovely Lovely atmosphere Staff so friendly and couldn't do enough to meet every request A lovely & very comfortable stay
Just felt like the rooms need a deeper clean - there were toothpaste marks on the side in the bathroom (they came off easily when I wiped it but it showed the bathroom surfaces hadn't been wiped since the last guests) and a bit dusty here and there It wouldn't stop me staying again, more a suggestion to make it even more comfortable
Short stay ,great location excellent staff 👌
Where it was
Bathroom needed update grubby around tiles and grout . The weather was hot only offered fan surely a hotel could afford portable air con .
A very clean and tidy property with very polite and helpful staff
Nothing to dislike
Modern, amazing food and excellent staff
That we had to leave
Beautiful, spacious, spotless room. Really comfy, huge bed. Delicious breakfast.
You can hear people.chatting.in the pub downstairs until it closes, so bear that in mind if you like an early night and are light sleepers.
Lovely big room. Comfortable bed. Excellent restaurant. Very friendly, helpful staff.
Rather warm due to very hot weather. Could do with ceiling fan over bed maybe?
Wonderfully design I loved it Feels like going back in time but everything is so kept
Nothing All good
Very welcoming hotel. Staff were lovely. Lovely hotel. A tad expensive but it was because there was a concert on in llangollen
Manager was so helpful and welcoming so really appreciated that . Clean room . had parking and pub outside area only 10 mins drive from our booking of the aqueduct canoeing .
Poor food and poor service for evening meal. Waiter couldn’t seem to manage his few tables. Food had been left on side before coming to table as sauce had layer of skin on it, garlic bread all congealed. Asked for a wine with my dinner, was added to bill but not provided so had to ask for adjusted bill when paying. Room window didn’t open more than a few inches so was really stuffy and the fan in the room was so so loud. Noise in night from someone (not sure if from above or side) so barely had any night sleep with it all
Easily accessible
Tea, coffee, condiments were missing. Bathroom had no mat.
This is a pleasant and large country pub hotel that is a cut above the average. The rooms are attractive and spacious and the breakfast is well presented. The staff were delightful.
We were there for the Eisteddfod in Llangollen, which meant high demand, but I felt that our room up in the attic was a tad overpriced. It was in a heatwave, and these days one would expect an air conditioning unit. Bit everything else was fine.
Well presented rooms, clean and comfortable. Staff were friendly and helpful.
I was there on quiz night which was a little loud as my room was directly over it, but then I wasn't trying to sleep so it's not really an issue
We had a family room with our grandkids. The room was spotless, spacious and the beds were very comfy. The breakfast option in the morning was plentiful and delicious. I would definitely book again.
Absolutely nothing. Everything was better than expected and the staff were all lovely.
Food for dinner and brreakfast was good
Room was dark with a small window and too noisy from traffic outside and church bells ringing every 15 minutes all night.
We have stayed several times, we are always greeted by a very friendly staff member always willing to help ,rooms are always presented beautifully and very clean . We just love staying here 😊.
Nothing.
Location is good.
Overall (★☆☆☆☆) The hotel is very dated, dusty, and poorly maintained. In my opinion, it was even below the standard of a typical Travelodge. Room (★☆☆☆☆) We were allocated a ground-floor double room immediately next to the entertainment hall. The layout of the hotel is extremely confusing, with long, winding corridors that make it difficult to find your room without relying on memory. In the evening, there was live entertainment with loud music and singing until around 10:00 pm. As our room was directly beside the hall, the noise was extremely disruptive and made it difficult to relax. Parking (0/5 – my worst experience!) This was by far the most frustrating part of our stay. When we arrived, I paid the two-day parking fee (£20) at reception and provided my vehicle registration number, exactly as instructed. Around two weeks after returning home, I received a Parking Charge Notice from Horizon Parking alleging that no payment had been made and/or that my vehicle had not been correctly registered during my stay. They demanded £51. I appealed the charge and submitted my debit card transaction as proof that I had paid the hotel for parking. Despite this, Horizon Parking rejected my appeal, stating that they had no record of any payment linked to my vehicle registration. They asked me to provide further evidence while simultaneously offering to reduce the charge to £15 if payment was made within 14 days. What is most disappointing is that I have contacted the hotel several times by email and through their online enquiry form, but I have received no response whatsoever. At the time of writing this review, I am still waiting for the hotel to investigate what appears to be a failure in their parking registration process. I have no idea what my next step should be. My advice: If you really want to stay here, keep every parking receipt, payment record, and any evidence that your vehicle registration has been entered correctly.
It’s old fashioned exterior and character.
Nothing
Location for our needs
Staff very unhelpful and wanted to close bar on Sunday night at 9:30pm. We were a family group meeting up from all over country
Location
Staff unhelpful
It’s in a nice location.
Don’t bother staying here. Not worth the money.
Love the location.Easy to park.Staff lovely . Food excellent.
The price this time for a double room was initially £263 . It did come down to £200 but I do think this is steep considering that there are no extra facilities such as a pool or spa. The room was very warm but they did provide a fan. There was no air con and the windows are old sash type had had to be propped open.
Beautiful place
Nice rooms. Great food menu.
The hotel itself was lovely and the staff were lovely but we paid for a superior room and it wasn't. We were in the stables outside and noylt told about the summer fête going on outside our room when we booked. No milk for tea pr coffee either
As above also bathroom bin full of rubbish
Good selection, including fresh fruit. Freshly cooked full Welsh very good.
Coffee
The room was spacious clean and tidy
Nothing
It was clean and staff were helpful. Food was delicious and served promptly
Hotel is situated opposite a lovely quaint church but their bells went off every hour even beyond midnight. The street light was on all night and just outside our room making it bright all night and the window could only be opened a short way due to the age of the windows. No air conditioning or ceiling fans. We did eventually find a room fan tucked away in one of the cupboards.
Alles! Fantastisch!

Clean comfortable rooms
The room was a bit hot , but it is warm weather
Very good
Not a lot !
Pleasant staff. Very nice room. Would visit again.
Good service at the evening meal but the meal itself was a little disappointing. The cheese pie was fine but the accompanying veg (carrots and broccoli) were served dry. I asked for some gravy which promptly came and improved the dish.
The hospitality was spot on right from our arrival, all the staff were friendly, professional and efficient. The outstanding feature of our stay was the food, top quality evening meal and an absolute superb breakfast. Our room was well equipped, clean, well furnished, an excellent bathroom & shower and very comfortable. We would like to recommend this hotel and will most certainly stay again.
The room was located in the courtyard and very convenient
The food was only just average
Good
The church bells were annoying. Why all through the night ridiculous.
Great location, friendly staff, clean and comfortable.

really well decorated and appointed room, lovely food and a relaxed atmosphere
Large spacious comfortable room, friendly staff, great breakfast. Free onsite parking - suitable motorcycles. Fresh milk for tea & coffee.
Comfortable bed
Superb Staff location excellent
Everything better than expected
Clean and smart with friendly staff.
staff and managers excellent
lighting in room 1 inadequate , no mirror over washbasin. , room needs small tablei
Great room - we've stayed in most of the superior rooms now and they are all lovely. Breakfast is freshly cooked to order which I love and dinner each evening was also excellent. While the food and rooms are excellent, it's the staff who make it special. Darren and his team really do a great job!
There was nothing I didn't like. Would heartily recommend!
Stopped at the Waynnstay arms several times and always been perfect
Nothing
The staff, food and atmosphere are amazing.
This location to start our 4 day motorcycle tour around Wales's was perfect (as was last year's stay) The staff were very friendly, comfy room, amazing food and a very safe place to park our motorcycles.
The room was lovely. Breakfast and evening meals both excellent too.
The room was very warm and unfortunately the window would not stay open, this might have just been me not able to operate it properly mind! It was fine on our second night as I turned off the radiator.
Excellent service, good food offered from a well varied menu. Friendly staff, clean, comfortable and spacious room

The property had a lot of character and rooms were modern and spacious. Family room was a very good size. We had two meals which were both excellent. This was an overnight stop before our canal trip and a perfect place to stay being close to our departure point.
Staff could perhaps be a bit more friendly. It really helps as an overseas traveler to have friendly conversations.
Room was good and the food excellent.
Stayed on a few occasions now and I like the food, decor and the vibe of the place
Just a suggestion! I stayed in the four poster room last time and the bed post obstructed the TV … could the TV be moved to a different wall ?
Locality, clean and friendly
It's just over priced for what it is. I stay in superior hotels that are comparable if not cheaper in price. I've decided to now try the Ramada (6km away) as it's priced almost 50% cheaper for a weeknight stay in July ..
Lovely clean room, very friendly staff and lovely breakfast.
The bed was a little uncomfortable for my preference and the family room is above a very load bar so the children could get to sleep until the bar closed.
Great food...we had evening meal and breakfast, both were excellent
