Sisi and his family are very kind and helpful. They will assist with anything you need. Excellent breakfast and very handy to have the tuk tuk available. It is very novel being able to enter the property from the station platform. Close to the beach and plenty of food options nearby.

Be aware the trains are noisy, you can ask for earplugs.

Просторный номер, оснащённый всем необходимым для комфортного отдыха, кондиционер хорошо справляется с охлаждением комнаты. Кровать очень большая и удобная. Хозяин идёт навстречу и помогает во многих вопросах. До океана буквально 4 минуты ходьбы. Вокруг множество кафе и заведений. Рекомендую всем бюджетным путешественникам!

Если придираться, то уборка была произведена только по запросу. Всё остальное очень хорошо.

The owner and his wife are very welcoming, helpful and genially kind! The property is well equipped and close to the beach. There was a kettle, tea and coffee in the room, big shower and a terrance. Highly recommend !

Location beside Bentota Railway Station. Front is beach park. Mr Sisi is wonderful person and his family taking care of everything. Breakfast with fruits and other traditional item was amazing. I love to stay here again....

Ich kann es eindeutig empfehlen. Ich war sehr zufrieden mit dem Zimmer, der Aussicht, der Sauberkeit der Umgebung, der Lage sowie der guten Erreichbarkeit des Strandes, der Restaurants und Geschäfte. Sogar eine Bank befand sich nur wenige Schritte von der Unterkunft entfernt. Die Gastgeber waren wirklich sehr nett und freundlich, haben uns immer hilfsbereit unterstützt und uns mehrmals dorthin gefahren, wo wir hinmussten. Außerdem haben sie für uns günstigere Ausflüge und Attraktionen organisiert. Das Ganze hatte eine wunderbar familiäre Atmosphäre. Ich möchte auf jeden Fall irgendwann wieder hierher zurückkommen.

This hotel truly stands out as one of the best I’ve experienced in Sri Lanka. Sisi’s place was about the best choice I’ve made!👌 The location is excellent; which makes it very comfortable when you arrive by the train, as almost all of the tourists do. A wonderful swimming beach is located in near walking distance. Restaurants also just a couple of steps away. The room is lovely, comes with a balcony. It’s spacious, and so is the bathroom, that provided me with the shower of the year! Haha. Very strong, hot water. The bed also comfortable and has an extra blanket for the morning when the AC cooled down the room, and you need a little more than a sheet. The AC is not across your bed, which is important to me, because it’s unpleasant to get the air right into your face. Breakfast was also excellent served at a very nice garden setting, and it’s fun how you can watch the trains from your breakfast table. 5 different fresh fruits were available and a variety of yummy food. Lots of extra help was given generously by the host, very much appreciated.I recommend this place to fellow travelers, and I’ll be back. Thank you.

Everything was exelent. Clean and big room, good and big breakfast, very close to the beach. The family is very friendly and helpful. You feel like at home.

The accommodation is directly at the train station, so you hear trains. It's not often (not during the night) and it was no problem for me, but it might be for someone.

Recent refurb so bright, fresh, clean, a comfortable bed and good storage. Excellent breakfast provided by the ever helpful Sissi, (we asked where the nearest currency exchange was, and he insisted on taking us there and back in his tuk tuk, and in the morning of our departure he walked to the nearby rail station, bought our tickets and brought them back to us. Sissis place is a short stroll to the beach and right next to a line of restaurants running alongside the railway track, very novel. A very enjoyable stay.

It didn't bother us, but its situated right on the rail platform, so noise might be an issue for some.

Exceeded our expectations in every way. Great location, excellent host, nothing was too much trouble. Room is basically furnished but everything worked e.g , air-conditioning, wi fi etc. Good breakfast each morning tea/coffee, fresh fruit, fresh juice., omelette, toast and jam etc. Served different sri lankan specialities each day.. Coffee/tea making in room and provided towels for the beach 100m away.

Nothing. The single track train line immediately alongside the house may bother some but not us at all, in fact it added to the character of the place. The air-conditioning and ceiling fan helps mask the noise. No trains ran after midnight.

Wir wurden herzlich empfangen. Der Besitzer hat sich um alles gekümmert, eine Bootsafari für uns gebucht und den Transfer zum Flughafen organisiert. Am Abreisetag, konnten wir im schattigen Innenhof sitzen, bekamen Tee, Wasser und ein leckeres Mittagessen. Super freundlich die ganze Familie. Unbedingt empfehlenswert.

Sisi and his family run a beautiful place here. We couldn't fault anything. This has been the most comfortable clean place we have stayed at in a while. Sisi helped us book trips and took us to the shop when requested. Air con and a fan in the room worked well. Just across the rail track you get to the beautiful clean beach. And just down the track you will find some lovely places to eat. Absolutely perfect Thank you sisi and family

Visų pirma- nuostabūs šeimininkai. Vėlavo skrydis, atvykome į viešbutį apie 00:00, jie mūsų laukė. Pramiegojome pusryčius, bet šeimininkai pagamino mums vėliau. Išvykstant pats šeiminkas palydėjo ir padėjo įsigyti bilietui į vietinį traukinį. Labai jaukusir švarus kambarys su puikiu balkonu. Linkime tik kuo geriausios sėkmės!!!!

Der Eigentümer hatte uns bereits gleich bei unserer Ankunft nach Unternehmungen gefragt. Als wir eine Bootstour ins Gespräch brachten, bot er sofort an, eine sehr vetrauenswürdige Agentur zu kennen und uns eine Bootstour zu vermitteln, was wir im guten Glauben und Vertrauen annahmen. Tatsächlich aber handelte es sich um eine Schlepperorganisation, die als eigentliches Ziel die Anlage von "Herbal garden" hatte, wo wir absolut professionell abgezockt wurden. Dass dies Methode und System hat, zeigt nachdolgender Link: https://maps.app.goo.gl/wwrPcsA3sfbYnTwa7?g_st=aw Als wir den Vermieter hierüber informierten, nahm er dies zur Kenntnis, aber ohne Überzeugung und ohne jegliche Motivation, dass hier weitere Touristen geschützt werden sollten. Sei wohl bedauerlich, aber man könne wohl nichts ändern. Anstatt sich aktiv darum zu kümmern, die vielen Touristen davor zu schützen... Die Bewertung kommt durch einen vollkommenen Vertrauensverlust zustande. Wenn man sich betrogen fühlt, gerät alles andere in den Hintergrund. Als weiteren Mangel ist anzumerken, dass das Haus unmittelbar neben dem Bahngleis und Bahnhof liegt (ca. 10 Meter Entfernung zum Bahngleis), weshalb man natürlich jeden einfahrenden und durchfahrenden Zug und Zugsirene sehr laut hört.

Perfect start to our first visit to Sri Lanka. I can only hope the rest of our stays are as pleasant as Sisi's place. It's a perfect location next to the beach, restaurants and shops. The host could not have been more helpful. Arranged trips, local transport and our onward train to unawatuna. Great breakfast catered for all tastes. Highly recommend for a first or last stop in Sri Lanka

Wir hatten hier das beste Frühstück unserer 4-Wochen-Reise. Gastgeber waren super nett und hilfsbereit (Ausflüge, Bahntickets, ...). Hervorragende Restaurants in unmittelbarer Nähe.

Nichts für Langschläfer, weil man die Bahn ab früh morgens hört. In der Nacht fährt allerdings kein Zug und es werden Oropax zur Verfügung gestellt. Für uns hatte die Haltestelle direkt vor der Türe aber mehr Vor- als Nachteile.

Sisi and his family are so lovely people. They made our stay there unforgetable. He should change the name of this place for Sisi's home as that was hiw we felt there. Clean,cozy,just few steps from the beach. I will return for sure ♥️

Sisi is a very welcoming owner, he makes you feel at home. Comfortable and clean room with a bathroom en-suite.

The guesthouse overlooks the railway, but despite this, the passing trains are not so disturbing.

Vertskapet kunne ikke gjøre det godt nok for deg. De vartet opp med en utrolig frokost. Kjørte oss rundt i Tuktuk uten ekstrakostnad. Stort fint rom og bad.

Ligger rett ved jernbanen, så var litt støy. Men egentlig litt sjarmerende.

The location is so convenient. Close to the beach, restaurants and the train station. The rooms are modern, very large and spotless! The host Sisi, and his family are so helpful and kind. They will do anything they can to ensure you have a good time. Breakfast was delicious and something Sri Lankan was served each day to keep things interesting.

Ok the one thing that probably stands out is the train that runs right in front of this property to Bentota station, but it’s really not that bad. It’s pretty infrequent and doesn’t run through the night. Sisi provides train plugs if you need. Actually trains are pretty short and are gone by within seconds.

Unser erster Stopp nach Ankunft am Flughafen. Eine sehr qualitative Einrichtung mit einem sehr guten Bett und Klimaanlage. Das Frühstück im Garten ist sehr fein und die Strandnähe genial. Wir fühlten uns sehr willkommen, der Gastgeber ist sehr bemüht und es ist sehr familiär. Er kennt Sri Lanka aus seiner früheren Tätigkeit als Reiseführer und kann sehr viele Tipps geben und er hat Ausflüge in der Region mit uns gemacht. Er ist sehr hilfsbereit und spricht gut Englisch.

Der kleine Bahnhof gleich vor dem Haus ist genial für Reisende aber ein Zug rauscht etwa 8x pro Tag mit einem höllen Lärm an der Unterkunft vorbei.

It’s a really property with new units with everything you need for comfortable living. It’s run as a guesthouse and the hosts are really nice and will get our of their way to help you with anything you need. The breakfast was also really nice with food cooked fresh in the moment.

It’s very conveniently next to the Bentota train station, which also means you might hear the trains on the track, but just pack some earplugs and it will be fine!

I had a lovely time in Bentota thanks to this place. The room was big and cozy and had nice balcony views. Location was perfect, right next to the train station and the beach, and also all the restaurants were close. The host couple were super friendly and welcoming, and he also offered to take me to all the nice places in the area. Breakfast was also delicious. I would definitely recommend!

Hele mooie en ruime kamers met balkon. Heel schoon en een heerlijke douche op de badkamer. Hele vriendelijke eigenaar die je met de Tuktuk overal naartoe brengt en excursies regelt.

Bij de boeking had ik niet gezien dat het treinspoor naast het hotel ligt. We hadden er uiteindelijk niet veel last van doordat het geluid redelijk wordt tegen gehouden en er niet zoveel treinen langs komen.

Sisi went out of his way to make sure my stay was good. The breakfast was also plentiful and healthy.

Eine schöne neue Anlage mit geräumigen, sauberen und komfortablen Zimmern! Bequemes und großes Bett sowie ein Balkon mit tollem Ausblick! All das würde schon für 10 Sterne reichen, aber dann hätten wir Sisi noch nicht erwähnt: super hilfsbereit, spricht super englisch und ist ein perfekter Gastgeber! Danke Sisi!

Surprisingly clean, well-designed rooms for the price — a truly great value. The real gem is Sisi himself, who has been a tour guide for 25+ years and will help you do anything you want to (but is also respectful if you just want to chill on the beach!)

We had an amazing stay at Sisi’s place in Bentota. The railway track is just next to the property, and the beach is right in front—such a perfect location! The rooms were super clean and spacious. The hospitality was outstanding, and the breakfast was delicious. Everything was just perfect for our one-day stay. Wish we had stayed for more days!

Room is spacious and clean, and I think shower was the best I had in Sri Lanka. The place is just next to the railway but the trains don’t go during night hours. Personally I didn’t mind at all, but every now and then it’s a bit noisy.

You can't beat the location of this hotel, just a short three-minute stroll to a stunning open beach. The hotel itself felt new and was spotlessly clean, and our room was fully equipped with everything a guest could need. To top it off, they offered a delicious breakfast each morning, and our host, Sisi, was exceptionally friendly and made me feel very welcome. It was the perfect base for a beach getaway and a relaxing recovery before heading to the airport and saying goodbye to Sri Lanka!

We loved Sisi's place! Clean comfortable and strong enough wifi to work remotely. The room has high-end quality finishings. Quality bed and sheets. Brand new sparkling clean toilet and tiles. We enjoyed the view from the balcony set higher than surrounding buildings. Also we enjoyed the train passing my. The family was so kind and sweet. The breakfast was large, and all very good items included. We especially loved the fresh juices, coconut roti, and fruit platter, which included my favorite passion fruit. Book early is they are often sold out. We've stayed in many accommodations in Bentota and this is one of the best! Also very close to the beach. Tea, coffee, and water in the room. The room is very large and has good air flow. The floors were spotless, so you could walk barefoot comfortably. Also, the bathroom didn't have a moldy smell like many bathrooms do from moisture in Sri Lanka. Highly recommend. We loved the custom card they gave us upon departure.

This place was the best hotel we have experienced so far in Sri Lanka. The owners are extremely friendly and they help you with everything you need. The room is clean, spacious and very modern. Furthermore the breakfast they serve is extremely good. And at last the location is perfect, closeby the citycenter and the beach. We would highly recommend this place to everyone.

The room size was large and the bed was comfortable, new and clean, the owner and his wife could not do enough for us, we wanted to stay longer but our schedule did not allow us to.. A beautiful beach is just a 2 minute walk and also the restaurants.

Very friendly host. The property is right by the train tracks but the occasional noise didn’t seem to bother us much.

Sisi's place was fantastic, it was pretty much right on the beach and they've fitted it out with everything you could need or want. The bed was super comfy (comfiest pillows we've had the whole trip), they had hanging racks both inside and outside on the balcony to dry any swimming gear, and they had chairs and tables both inside and on the balcony (which had a great view of the train tracks and to the sea). The fridge was so handy, there was a wardrobe, and a dresser/mirror, the room and balcony were so spacious, they had both a fan and and air conditioner which worked great! The room was so clean. The bathroom was great and they also had a squeegee which is an awesome touch with the open shower (hot water works not that you need it). Both hosts were so lovely, and the breakfast was delicious. We also got a lift to and from the turtle sanctuary for a great price. Honestly one of the most comfortable places we stayed. Also a great location. Can't recommend it enough.

The only thing is the trains were actually quite loud for us going past and did wake us up in the morning.

Such a warm welcome in Sisi’s Place, a family run hotel and it feels exactly like that.After the craziness of Colombo it was a breath of fresh air. The breakfast was amazing and so much of it that Sisi suggested we take the rest to our room to put in the fridge for lunch. It’s also very well situated, easy to walk to the shops, the beach and the restaurants. If you miss your train you’ve only got yourself to blame because it’s right on top of the station ! However, that’s what gives this particular location so much charm. There are literally restaurants on the side of the track, it really is something quite special. I would go back in a heartbeat. Also the beach is huge so you’re not at all on top of each other .
