I loved everything about this lovely place.The location was perfect-a short walk to Plaza de Armas.The room was large and clean and sleep quality was excellent Breakfast each morning was perfect-a lot of food which really prepared me for the day.The staff were super friendly and helpful I want to thank Sergio and Luis-two very nice people who made my stay SO very enjoyable.Top marks...10 out of 10.

+ very nice people, Sergio was very present when we needed, also gave a very nice offer on the airport transfer. +comfortable beds +warm (there was heating in the rooms) +I mixed up the dates and there is an extra room with no toilet but still available - that was very very nice! +WiFi +good breakfast with personal touch (Sergio did eggs seeing that I need some protein on top)

- the toilet in our room had 2 doors, being between 2 rooms and another room could turn off the light (what they did) while I am on the toilet :D - not really private (toilet had 2 doors that were basic) - other people were complaining not having a toilet and I felt bad as I had access to that toilet. Also could not flash in the night as the other guests woke up. - kitchen is not for self-cooking

Sergio is a great host. Helped us to store luggage’s while on whales watching. He gave us also Great suggestions for restaurants in Punta Arenas. Nice chat with him, definitely I would go back in Chile!

Super friendly and helpful staff. They made us feel like we were at home. We booked for 3 nights and prolonged with 1 more. Do not expect super luxury rooms , they are basic but convenient, good breakfast - value/price ++ we would go back.

Sergio was great who owns the house, he goes above and beyond to accommodate you. The bed was comfortable and breakfast amazing.

My “private bath” was across the dining room which was odd. It would have been nicer to have curtains as it never was dark and still very bright when the sun came up.

The owner Sergio was very friendly and accommodating. We arrived late our first night and he made us hot tea :) we used the hotel as a starting and stopping point for our trip in Patagonia. The room was clean and simple and got the job done. The shower was great.

The standout highlight of my stay at Pension al Sur del Mundo was the incredible host, Sergio. He went above and beyond to ensure my stay was both comfortable and unforgettable. Choosing to stay here was one of the best decisions I made, as it truly elevated my entire trip. For an authentic and immersive Punta Arenas experience, I highly recommend this property—especially for solo travelers.

Not really a negative, just a "heads up": this property only accepts cash, so be prepared to pay in Chilean pesos :)

Unfortunately, the shower wasn't even appealing at all. In every way. The host was extremely business-like even during breakfast. The kitchen mentioned in the information is not available for use by guests. We were directed to a cheap restaurant.

Sergio was a great host, always super helpful. he drove me to a money exchange place, packed me a bagged lunch for a day-long trip, let me take a breakfast to go when I was running short on time when heading out, and dropped me off at the bus station. lovely place, and nice dogs too.

I picked this location for it's closeness to the ocean, close to a nice park for birding & also it was only about an 5-8 min walk to center of town. Although breakfast not included Sergio would make it for you for a small charge. He set up a refrigerator for me to store my own food. Although both of us did not speak very much of each others language we used Google translate & gestures & even managed to laugh a lot when we made mistakes. Sergio also does tours. I asked him to take me to a couple of spots not on regular tours & he was happy to do so & didn't charge that much. His home is not fancy but I was comfortable & he is an excellent host. Bed was comfortable, Wifi was great & plenty of heat on the cool to cold nights. Just an FYI bring your own bar soap & there is only a shower no bathtub.

There was nothing I disliked. However, some might think too far from main part of town. I wanted a quiet neighborhood so I wasn't disappointed & I had mapped the time to walk into center of town before I booked & was comfortable with that even at dusk.

In a quiet neighborhood, but just a quick walk into the center of town. Sergio is very friendly and helpful, and my room was comfortable and quiet. A wonderful place to stay before heading to Torres del Paine.

The pension has 2 rooms in a nice and quiet area at the edge of the city centre. The host can pick you up at the airport (to pay). He is a very nice man who makes you feel at home. The breakfast is very good and extensive.

What a great first night in Chile! I was welcomed with such warmth. My room was quiet, bed was comfy, bathroom was down the hall, lots of hot water. Breakfast was just what I needed. Location was on a quiet street within walking distance on the waterfront and downtown.

Great, home-like stay. I loved my interactions with Sergio and staff. Breakfast was great as well.

Be careful about the final price and exchange rates when paying at the Al Sur del Mundo. I trusted Sergio to do the currency conversion for me, just to realize he charged me 60% more than the price with discount I got on booking.com.

it was a really nice stay in the pension. Sergio spent a lot of time giving us tips what to do in the area. The breakfast was very good and inculded everything you need.

It’s close to the water, the central market, the center. The owner is really nice!

The Owner Sergio is the most friendly Host you can imagine. You will also get a hearty Breakfast in this nice and authentic Place. Stop looking around for Accommodation in Punta Arenas, just stay at Sergio’s House and you will be fine !

The location was ideal, just a few blocks from the main Plaza. The real bonus, though, was the host Sergio - he could not have been more helpful and welcoming. This is the perfect place to stay when visiting Punta Arenas.

There is nothing I didn't like - everything was great.

It was like being at home. The owner manages himself everything and is very open in terms of service offering. He treats you as his own guest, not as a passenger. At the end of the day, for me that I spend 3 days there, I feel I became part of his family. We ad breakfast together, on my last day he invited me to have lunch with him while I was preparing my baggage. He enjoys having visitors, and he is doing some improvements on the facilities so in the future staying there will be even better.

I needs an extra bathroom but it was not an issue while I was there. He is building a new one and it is almost ready so from now on every room will have its own bathroom. The rest of the facilities were very good.
