We had a wonderful stay at Robyn's Nest. Robyn and Graham were fantastic hosts and their property was absolutely perfect. The bed was comfortable, the linen was lovely and the continental breakfast provided was delicious. Honestly, they had thought of everything to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. The surrounding gardens were beautiful and added to the peaceful atmosphere. We would highly recommend Robyn's Nest to anyone staying in the area.
Nothing
Hosts were excellent communicators and understanding of our visit's purpose. Location worked before us. Bed, shower and kitchen amenities all excellent.
The lack of anywhere comfortable to sit down was a surprise and a small disappointment though understood once there that layout prohibited this and that this may not be an issue for younger or taller folk or those happy to sit on the high bed.
Lovely and clean. Nice plentiful items for breakfast. Good location.
Le propriétaire très accueillant.
It was a great space! Fully self contained but attached to the house. Breakfast options were great.. and fresh milk in the fridge. The bed was amazing! Shower pressure was great also. Loved it. Would definitely stay again.
Nothing that we didnt like.
Great location, beautiful farm views and so many added extras like ear plugs, fresh fruit, yoghurt, toast and cereals.
Couldn't fault anything. Host went out of their way to make our stay perfect.
Robyn and Graeme are excellent hosts. Made sure we wanted for nothing. The continental breakfast supplied was more than we could eat!! There was also a delicious shortbread treat left out for us too. A choice of pillows (firm, medium or soft) was available. The bed was really comfortable and the shower was hot. We really enjoyed our stay.

Hands down my best stay on the North Island. Everything was absolutely lovely, the place is easy to find thanks to the directions Robyn and Graham provided. The bed is super comfy, everything was clean, and I felt very comfortable and at home. There's an abundance of breakfast options, so you'll always leave the Nest well fed. If you're in the New Plymouth area and need a place to stay, I would 100% recommend Robyn's Nest!
That I didn't stay longer!
It was wonderful, many thanks to Robyn.
Quiet . Easy access to room . Well catered for .
Everything was good Backyard was nice with lawn etc
I would say the bread and breakfast selection was fantastic coffee machine everything you needed all good quality. The bed was so good we asked Robyn what brand it was so we can buy one . Everything was of a good quality towels sheets shower . Can’t say enough about the place fantastic
Nothing we didn’t like about staying here other than we could have stayed longer
Nice and clean place with very helpful and kind owners.
The only positive aspect was the location, which had beautiful scenic views.
Our stay was unfortunately very unpleasant and did not meet the expectations set at the time of booking. Breakfast was promised at $7 per person. We stayed for 4 days as a couple, but the breakfast provided was inadequate. On the first day, we were given only one loaf of bread, cereals, pieces of butter, 1 liter of milk, 2 packets of instant chocolate drink, and few packets of yoghurt minimal supplies for 4 days as couples. After that, no proper daily breakfast service was provided as expected. They commented upon request “We put enough for 4 days sorry but I can give you more bread - we are out at the moment” and 4 slices of bread was provided in a plastic zip lock bag on our check out day. This was misleading and disappointing. We feel a budget Hotel too provides unlimited breakfast for their guests instead of booking on private properties with owner staying and rationing the breakfast supplies. We felt a lack of privacy throughout our stay. The owner CCTV’s is present at front door and made comments about our movements and air-conditioning usage, which made us feel uncomfortable and monitored. The toilet did not have a proper door, which completely compromised privacy. Additionally, the strong smell of urine and feces spread throughout the entire room, creating an extremely uncomfortable and unhygienic environment. Due to the misleading breakfast arrangement, lack of privacy, and poor hygiene conditions, our overall experience was very disappointing.
Wonderful little surprised
Great view from the bedroom in countryside location.
Reading from the previous reviews, we picked this B&B for the incredible breakfast described, complimentary foods, and great reviews overall. Unfortunately, our experience was quite different. The breakfast was incredibly underwhelming with a very limited selection, supermarket bread expired by a week, and the jar of milk that had had water dripping from the thawing freezer in the fridge. No fresh fruits or home baking/biscuits described in previous reviews. Some of the walls and ceilings were mouldy, our bed sheets were stained, and the traffic on the nearby road was actually so intense that it would make the place rattle every time a truck would pass. We had initially planned to stay two nights but ended up cancelling the second night, the first time we’ve ever had to do that in the 15 years we’ve been living here. Quite disappointed in the end.
Great countryside view from the bedroom.

Location. Clean. Comfy. Host. Easy check-in. Private.
Once booking was confirmed communication was great. When we arrived we were welcomed and told we could ask if we needed anything. The treat of cake to have with a cuppa when we arrived was a nice touch too. The accommodation was very clean, well stocked and comfortable. Having a rural outlook and being just over 10 mins from New Plymouth was relaxing and convenient. Well worth the money and easy to find.
Excellent, comfortable bed, great country views through large window, great supplies in kitchen for breakfast including toast, selection of jams, butter, yoghurt and fruit, cereals and yummy shortbread biscuits. Percolated coffee!!! Big shower with fluffy white towels. Great hosts.
Nothing
The bed is so comfy and the breakfast is fantastic . Also I am very like the beautiful garden and vegetables 😍
Breakfast very good
Bed a bit high and firm for me. No chair to sit on inside just 2 hard high stools
Absolutely clean and comfortable. Robyn, the host, was excellent with communication.
Nothing to dislike.
Great hosts, great facilities.
Clean. Comfortable. Even fresh milk, plenty of tea, and breakfast included at a fair price. Extremely tidy garden view from bedroom window. Watched a netflix movie on the smart tv. Would definitely stay again and highly recommend.
nothing
In the countryside, private, cosy and comfortable.
A bit of road noise, but no bother
Unit was lovely and clean, bed was comfy, breakfast was nice
The only down side is it is very small, not allowing any room for lounge chairs. However adequate for one night. Could be little better signage at the gate.
We had a lovely stay! The house was cosy, clean, and very well equipped with everything we needed. The host was friendly and welcoming, making check-in smooth and the whole experience enjoyable. Would definitely recommend!
Breakfast was filling! The little extras like homemade baking from host was so delicious & very thoughtful! The bed was so comfy with memory foam mattress we had a blissful sleep. Luxurious bedding, modern unit with comfort & style to match! Wake up to a peaceful country view! Thanku so much Robyn & Graham. I look forward to visiting again.
It was great
No thing
Location and cleanliness
Bed was very hard and super uncomfortable.
Great breakfast! Lovely host! Great value for the money. Comfy bed. Cleanliness. Smart-TV.
A bit awkward room solution, with the entrance being the bathroom. Pillows too big and too many for my taste
Lovely in details. Very nice and comfortable place to stay. Very friendly hosts - thanks Robyn! .
Such help with everything. Robyn is delightful and helpful.
Finding the gate was our problem...I suggest a bright red paint.
A very convenient place to stay for our trip to attend a 60th Wedding anniversary. A beautiful country setting making our stay a very pleasant experience. Many thanks to our hosts Robyn & Graham
Robyn's Nest is immaculately clean, cozy and beautifully arranged. The charming hosts have gone above and beyond to provide every convenience and comfort for their guests. The decor and amenities (so many!) are tasteful and first class. The patio overlooks a beautifully landscaped yard which includes a full grown Kauri tree! We were blown away by all the details that they provided which far exceeded all other BNB experiences we've had. I only wish we had planned a bit better for a longer stay. Well done Robyn!
All good food . Location was ideal for us There was some light traffic noise but with the double glazed windows closed it was easy to get a good night's sleep. Perfect hosts.
All happy
An ingenious use of space means the small kitchens in the room contains everything you need. The ged is very comfortable with lovely linen. A beautiful total view and friendly hosts.
It is right on the main road so there is constant noise from that.
Breakfast supplies were excellent, outlook was very appealing and being self contained was a bonus.
The room was comfortable. There were lovely little touches like a continental breakfast supplied and biscuits. I always love a quality coffee machine! Robyn was up front about road noise (I hadn't read this in reviews) and supplied ear plugs. This wasn't an issue for us.
Through no fault of the owners, the location became difficult for us, because we got a flat tyre on the Saturday. There are no eating facilities within walking distance, but on a positive note, Uber travels to this location.
Robyn's Nest is a distance from New Plymouth, but in a lovely garden surrounded by countryside with a glimpse of the sea. Robyn and Graeme we're great hosts and our separate quarters very clean with a great firm bed. We were lucky to stay another night in the house and share some very good company.
We couldn't fault it.
Warm, quiet and insulated. Great facilities and provisions plus very pleasant hosts.
lovely continental breakfast.
Would have liked to have stayed on longer.
It has everything for a stay. Great breakfast options. Comfy bed. Lovely indoor deco and outdoor environment.
Lovely peaceful location, clean and hot shower, friendly hosts.
Small but everything you need.
It was clean and tidy.
The fact that I didn't know how to operate Television
Great Breakfast selection
It rained for a bit
robyn is a great host - and this is a great little place for a couple or a solo traveller like myself.
The breakfast was good. The location was handy but a bit dangerous to turn into off the highway
Maybe the toilet could have a door
Robyn's Nest is the best! The location was perfect. Our stay was cozy and warm (once we were assisted with getting it going). Every commodity was available to us. The proprietors are truly welcoming, interesting and extremely friendly. The decor, our healthy breakfast, our room, the homemade shortbread, cleanliness was outstanding. Thank you - we will return ✨
1. Instructions to use heater & dials very difficult to read.
Was a beautiful room had everything we needed clean and top notch. The host was fantastic and such a beautiful spot. The homemade short bread was a delicious treat and a nice touch.Highly recommended 👌 We will definitely be coming to stay again !
