The property is beautiful. The view stunning. The people working there just amazing! The garden restaurant gorgeous and good food!
Airco so loud but so necessary. The house we stayed in was nice but just a bit worn down and for that kind of money you need to have a silent airco and slightly more modern electrics etc. The mosquitoes are too much. There is too little to do, especially for kids.
We were a family of 5 and loved the entire experience. The attention and responsiveness of all staff and management was extraordinary. Everything we asked for was taken care of immediately. The hotel accommodation and facilities were great as was the food and the experiences.
Amazing place, tranquil and beautiful setting.
Niesamowite miejsce, warte swojej ceny. Definicja luksusu i prowadzenia hotelu w zgodzie z naturą. Restauracja Hilltop - widok zapiera dech. Mogłabym tak wymieniać bez końca.
Unterkunft ist gut. Ausflüge local Island Tour überfüllt von Touristen Kong Island. Wasserqualität ist sehr schlecht, überall trübes Gewässer.
Everything was excellent! A top level experience from the very first moment. The nature, the resort design and villa styles, the villa pool and outdoor areas, the infinity pool with gorgeous views, food quality, sustainability, our GEM, Fon, who was incredible, the spa. No words can describe our satisfaction. We will be back!
Nothing
Everything! It’s the most beautiful hotel I have ever stayed at. Absolutely stunning!
Our visit was short but wonderful! We had a villa with private pool, which was spotless and comfortable. The food at all meals was delicious! Nithan is a slight step above, but reservation in advance of arrival is recommended. The Living Room is a beautiful view and Yaya manages a great team- so friendly! Spa was wonderful experience and very relaxing! Yoga is nice, gym is small and basic. Fon was our GEM and available whenever needed. She’s incredibly friendly and made our experience so lovely! We weren’t expecting children, and it doesn’t seem the kind of resort I think they would enjoy, but there were several. Thankfully, all were well behaved.
We arrived at Six Senses Yao Noi after a long journey, looking forward to a special family Christmas and the level of care and quality the brand is known for. While there were positives during our stay, our overall experience was mixed, and much of it came down to room allocation. We had booked a four-bedroom Hideaway Villa for our family. The villa we were initially shown was very dark and set deep within the jungle. While some guests may enjoy this style, we personally found it lacking in light, comfort, and the sense of ease we were hoping for. Mosquitoes and wildlife were very present, and the outdoor communal space felt difficult to use in the evenings. For a multi-generational family stay, the villa did not provide a comfortable shared area, which was disappointing given the nature of our booking. The first evening was challenging, and communication at that stage could have been clearer and more proactive. The following day, my parents were moved to a different villa which was light-filled, beautiful, and much more in line with what we associate with the Six Senses experience. This really highlighted how much the room category and location can define a stay at this property. Parts of the resort itself also feel in need of refreshment, sitting close to the edge of “shabby chic.” Once settled, the staff were generally pleasant and attentive. The food was mixed but overall good, with the Thai cuisine standing out. The spa and fitness offerings were also positives. The beach area is fairly underwhelming and lightly serviced, while the main pool has a stunning view but can feel overcrowded at peak times. In summary, Six Senses Yao Noi can be a lovely experience, but I would strongly advise future guests to choose their room category very carefully. The difference between villas is significant, and this can make the difference between a memorable stay and a frustrating one.
We spent 8 nights in a 2 bedroom pool villa over new year 2025/26 and had a fabulous time. It really saddens (and perplexes!) me to read such mixed reviews from recent guests so I wanted to write quite a detailed review to put anyone’s mind at rest who, like me, consults trip advisor religiously in the build up to a trip!! First, it seems the biggest point of difference between reviews is the standard of the rooms. I can only comment on our own villa, which was a pool villa. We had a beautiful view (one of the best views ever to wake up to - the hotel is on the sunrise side of the island) and some of the most comfortable beds we’ve ever slept in. The bathrooms were large with a gorgeous sunken bath in the master suite along with indoor and outdoor showers. Presumably renovation, when it comes, will upgrade things on the technology side, but sometimes high-tech rooms annoy us on holiday and everything in the room worked as it should - it just wasn’t especially modern. My ONLY gripe about the room was mentioned by a previous reviewer, and was also our experience when we stayed at the Six Senses Zighy Bay in Oman last year, which is that the rooms are DARK once night falls. The lighting is just too dim and you feel like you can’t see yourself properly to get ready for the evening! But honestly, I don’t think I even mentioned this in my review of Zighy Bay as it is hardly a big issue in an otherwise idyllic setting. And what a setting it is - no one can deny the beauty of this property and the stunning views. The photos don’t even do it justice. Before we arrived, we expected “that” view to feature only from the infinity pool, but actually you experience the same outlook from numerous points around the property. Having said that, the Hilltop pool and restaurant was our favourite spot in the whole hotel. We didn’t struggle to get sun beds as long as we were up there before 11am. The staff are delightful and so many people addressed us by name, making a real effort to remember our preferences and to check with us constantly whether everything was ok. The GEM model works really well here, and we were so grateful to our GEM Nyle who was instantly responsive on WhatsApp to anything we needed. Our 12 year old daughter enjoyed all the activities at Earth Lab (eg making recycled paper, making candles, key chains and photo frames) and my husband and our 15 year old son had a Thai boxing lesson. We also chose two excursions - the guided bike tour around the island (22km including some hard work uphill!) and the boat trip to the Phi Phi islands. Both were amazing ways to see the beauty of Thailand. Our massages at the spa were fantastic. We also tried aerial yoga, a sound healing session and a crystal bracelet making workshop where we learnt about the properties of different crystals. Finally, the food. We tried all three restaurants plus the very high quality New Year’s Eve buffet and we loved all of them. However, we also left the hotel to try some local restaurants and we would recommend doing this if you’re staying here for an extended period, not least because the local restaurants are very cheap! Our favourite was Rice Paddy restaurant which is only about 5 mins drive. The hotel can organise a taxi. In short, our stay was relaxing, pampering but also full of opportunities to discover the island and Thai culture. I have to conclude that hideaway rooms must be very different and/ or the negative reviews are written by people who prefer a high level of modern technology. And yes, there is some wildlife (amazing birds, little frogs, monitor lizards and we even saw one snake!) but nothing is dangerous and this only enhances the experience for us when we’re staying in Asia. Our children spent all week hoping to see a monitor lizard and they were delighted when we finally did! Housekeeping does a stellar job twice a day and we certainly didn’t have to fear that wildlife would get into the rooms. I assume the hideaway rooms are more exposed to the elements/ jungle than we were. After two fabulous New Years in Six Senses properties, we now feel that this is our new favourite hotel brand and we look forward to returning one day.
Disappointing and Inconsistent Experience at Six Senses Yao Noi We arrived at Six Senses Yao Noi after a long journey, expecting the level of luxury and care the brand is known for. Unfortunately, our experience fell well short. We had booked a four bed-villa hideaway for our family Christmas holiday. The accommodation we were shown was dark, cramped, and hidden deep in the jungle. Rather than serene, it felt neglected—poorly lit, overrun with mosquitoes, and with frogs jumping at you as you entered. The space lacked comfort, warmth, and ANY sense of luxury. Despite booking four villas, there was no comfortable communal area for a family stay. The only shared space was a single table fully exposed to the elements, making it unusable due to mosquitoes and wildlife. The best place to hang in the evening was in our bed under the mosquito net that contained holes! That first evening was handled poorly. I asked to speak to the manager three times and was told he was “busy.” He never came. No apology, acknowledgment, or small gesture was offered to ease the situation. When we asked to move rooms, we were initially told there was no availability, only to later be told a room had been “found,” making the earlier response feel misleading. The following day, my parents were moved to a different villa that was light-filled, beautiful, and exactly what one expects from Six Senses—highlighting how much the room allocation defines the experience here. In contrast, much of the hotel feels tired and firmly on the wrong side of “shabby chic.” The staff were generally pleasant, and once settled, we were well looked after. However, the sour first impression never fully lifted, and notably, we never met the manager. The food was mixed but overall good, the Thai being the winner… The beach is underwhelming and poorly serviced, lacking the small thoughtful touches expected at this level. The main pool is visually stunning, with a sensational view, but overcrowded and insufficient for the number of guests so we could barely hang out there. If you are seeking a true jungle experience, the type you find when you are a Gap year student, the hideaway villas may suit you. Otherwise, check your room category very carefully—because at Six Senses Yao Noi, the difference between exceptional and unacceptable is significant.
Breakfast, personal, nature, private beach, free icecream, excelent butler Nubsib, free kayak, moskito net
a litlle bit overpriced SPA treatments
Everything was perfect
I can’t think of one thing
We are just coming to the end of our 4 night stay at the six senses and we’ve had the most wonderful few days and can find very few markers that do not get a 5/5 from us. This is a hotel brand we have come to love starting on our honeymoon in Portugal, to Ibiza and now Thailand. The Thai resort has a different vibe to its European counterparts but that is fitting for the location, which is Thailand 20 years ago in time and completely unspoilt, in case you were wondering. You will find few places such that can give you the experience you’ll get here. Service: I’m not sure I can recall having had much better. Every single member of staff you encounter greets you with a wonderful smile. The operation is super slick - from the on demand golf buggies to transfer you over the resort (it’s complex to navigate without a map but not dissimilar to a Maldives resort with villas spaced out from multiple restaurants). To borrowing rain jackets, mountain bikes or anything else you could want. A special mention to Nubsib who looked after us the whole time, greeting us at every single mealtime and being in contact with us daily on WhatsApp about any special dining events, happy hours or tours that were happening throughout the resort. We attended two ‘special events’ - a fish bbq where the executive chef spent time with us discussing food and all things chilli sauce, to a special drinks on the beach with all the staff where we got to chat to the general manager and sous chef at the Nithan restaurant. Many wonderful people work here and they all collectively made our stay memorable. Villa: we stayed in 14 which was a hideaway villa that had good sun into the afternoons on our pool deck. We were very happy with the condition and amenities. House keeping come in twice a day and turn down your room with the mosquito net set up in the evening. The pool, beach and restaurants are all wonderful. Food is a very high quality and every restaurant offers a unique setting in the resort. The breakfast buffet isn’t super vast - it offers good European, Chinese and Thai options - as well as 5 or 6 made to order dishes and a juice menu which is typical for the six senses resorts. The morning view over the limestone islands is beautiful. Mozzies: now let me prefix this, I am a pasty English girl who has suffered with cellulitis related hospital visits on prior trips from mosquito bites be it Kenya, Malaysia, Hong Kong… I’m married to an Asian and that is part and parcel of coming to Asia I am afraid, so come prepared is the lesson here. I come on every trip with anti histamines, anti inflammatory tabs, aloe gel, ice packs, hydrocortisone just in case… and I read the reviews here before I arrived so I was doubly prepared. I used my jungle 50 deet daily and I have not been bitten once and I haven’t needed my stash of meds. That is a good outcome for a trip to Asia! As long as you take precautions you’ll be fine. They are fumigating the resort a few times a week that not everywhere does, they have nets in the rooms (haven’t seen any in my villa tbf), the villa has blue light bug magnets and every table in every bar or restaurant has a ‘natural repellent’ provided. Not sure what more they could for their guests to be honest…
Stunning location. Loved that all the food wad organic, especially good was the breakfast buffet. Hilltop pool and the boxing ring were highlights.
Stunning location Everything pampered Wonderful service Best in Thailand and thank you to Pla she was helpful and my our stay the best, all the staff were wonderful and kind
Food selection could have been more varied Breakfast fine but felt uncomfortable serving myself
Everything. The place is a Paradise oasis in Koh Yao Noi, so peaceful and the attention to details is amazing. We could not dream of a better journey. The staff is providing an outstanding service and is so nice. We will definitely come back.
Nothing
We had very high expectations when booking Six Senses Yao Noi, but our experience was deeply disappointing. We booked a Panorama Villa, which looked completely different from the one shown on the website. The layout and overall condition were not as advertised, the villas are dated, tired, and in clear need of renovation. During our stay, we had to deal with multiple issues: a leaking air conditioner, a malfunctioning toilet, and several other maintenance problems. Everything felt like it was falling apart. The breakfast was mediocre, the facilities were basic, and the entire resort was overrun with insects, to the point where we were uncomfortable even using the bathroom at night. The shower area looked more like an old institution than a luxury resort. While the location itself is beautiful, it’s nowhere near enough to justify the price point. We booked for a full week but decided to leave after just three nights. The management did offer a 50% refund for the unused nights, which we appreciated, although given the extent of the issues, a full refund would have been more appropriate. This property urgently needs a full renovation and should not be priced as a luxury experience in its current state.

We stayed at Six Senses Yao Noi for 5 nights. The staff are great and attentive, facilities are adequate but for the price of the hotel per night, Six Senses are living of a Brand. The resort is in need of upgrading, rooms are still good, beds comfortable and outside lounge areas clean, but the electrics, tech (Basic TV or speakers et) need updated. Bathrooms also in need of updating. The resort in its entirety is also requiring maintenance, from the wooden steps to the walkways, and the rooms. For the price paid I would expect this to be ultra special and on point for every aspect. The island is very special and the wildlife amazing. In addition if maintenance is ongoing (and its needed), for the price paid, I would expect the resort to be closed and updated. We had multiple maintenance happening to the left and right of our villa. Granted its low season but again if the price is this high they should not be compromising guest peace and quiet with maintenance noise. Planned closure or close villas that are close to maintenance etc should be done. I would come back to the island, the hotel is in a very special place and has amazing grounds and beach. If you want silence and relax (out-with of maintenance noise) and the hotel has been updated in a year or two. I may consider coming back to this hotel. For now though the price is to high for what you are getting. Breakfast was not the best, would expect higher level of offering and service for the breakfast. Staff amazing though and we enjoyed our time, if not a little annoyed with the cost for the experience.
Staying at Six Senses Koh Yao Noi feels like experiencing a piece of heaven on earth. I truly don’t think there is a more perfect location for a hotel anywhere in the world. The concept of luxury with simplicity is simply genius – everything is created in harmony with nature. You can even collect fresh eggs from the chicken coop and pick herbs for your own breakfast. The chefs and the food are outstanding – with a special mention to the incredible Thai chef Jay, who is a true star. Above all, I want to thank the amazing staff, especially Kat, who personally took care of us every single day. When we weren’t satisfied with our initial room due to some issues, she never gave up until we were moved to a perfect villa, making sure our stay was flawless in every way. This is not just a hotel – it is an unforgettable experience. Highly recommended, and we will definitely return.
Our first room needed a bit construction, but they took care of us perfectly and we have nothing to complain about

Our stay at Six Senses Yao Noi was nothing short of extraordinary. Surrounded by the breathtaking beauty of Phang Nga Bay, we at xemsomenh.com felt an immediate sense of peace and harmony. The villas offered not only luxurious comfort but also a deep connection with nature, from sunrise views over limestone cliffs to the calming sounds of the ocean. Every detail reflected mindfulness, sustainability, and care, making the experience both rejuvenating and inspiring. Six Senses Yao Noi is more than a destination – it is a sanctuary of the soul that left us with memories to cherish forever.

Great experience of tropical nature. All is made from wood, glass and stone. No plastic around! Natural aging of the facilities fits to the environmental concept. Services exceptional.
Beautiful hotel, amazing grounds and outstanding service
Nothing
Location, villa with amazing view and privacy, excellent food, stunning hilltop pool and lounge, management, exceptional service, personal, and deep attention to detail.
It was all great
The best service from a hotel we have ever experienced. The personal guest managers, the waiting staff, the buggy drivers could not do more for us. A truly amazing hotel experience. We went in rainy season - I would always go in rainy season. Sunny days, occasional downpours , thunder, white fluffy clouds. Our waiters and waitresses really added the wow factor to a 5 star experience. Luna, Beam get a special mention but all were faultless in the approach to making us feel welcome every dinner service. We had an amazing forest room villa. There is no need to hope for a sea view, as you have these at breakfast, lunch and dinner. Enjoy the flora and for na from your outdoor shower. Fatih ( manager ) and our GEM ( Margie) met us upon arrival by speed boat and couldn’t do enough for us. Six senses is a stunning hotel experience.
We had six nights at Six Senses Yao Noi and it was exceptional. Our villa was large, beautifully styled and equipped with everything you could ever need. There was a range of activities on offer and our little girl loved their ecowarriors program and all the arts and crafts available through Earth Lab. All of the staff were extremely hospitable with a massive shout out to our guest experience manager Lily who was kind, responsive and went above and beyond. Would highly recommend this resort and we will certainly be back.
We recently had the pleasure of staying at Six Senses Yao Noi and it was a truly first class experience. The staff were all so friendly and attentive with nothing being too much trouble for them. The food was amazing as was our accommodation. We did the canoe trip to the mangroves which was very good with a very knowledgeable and friendly guide.
Everything, staff, nature, luxury, facilities, this place for ppl whom looking for unforgettable vacation
After a wobbly start, we couldn’t fault the Six Senses resort. All the staff went above and beyond, the accommodation fabulous. The food delicious too. Only wished we could have stayed longer.
This is definitely one of the most beautiful resorts we have ever visited. The views from the hilltop are stunning, and the jungle-like mountain landscape is just amazing. There are only 51 rooms. Colorful butterflies swarm around, accompanied by hornbill birds swooping down over your private pool. It is a natural paradise! I would give 10 stars for location, scenery, and beauty! But paradise comes with swarms of mosquitoes! You basically get eaten alive. We chose to travel in mid-April because our guidebook and Six Senses told us it was the end of the dry season. So we figured: the season with the fewest mosquitoes. NOT! The resort is lush and green—meaning: it probably rains a lot all year = lots of mosquitoes. And the resort is situated right next to a large Mangrove area (swamp). I was even bitten by one of the black-and-white tiger mosquitoes (Aedes Albopictus). They bite any time of the day, even in broad sunlight. Each table in their three restaurants is equipped with salt, pepper, and mosquito spray. Under each table, mosquito coils are also provided. So the resort does quite a lot to protect guests from these blood-sucking beasts. One big issue though — and a serious warning: The mosquito spray is filled with alcohol. We didn’t know. So we used the spray and walked out into the sun. The alcohol dissolved the sunscreen we were wearing. As a result, our daughter got severely sunburned on her entire face and had to be treated with hydrocortisone. We did reapply sunscreen many times a day, but my daughter’s chemistry teacher later explained that alcohol on the skin keeps dissolving the sunscreen. Suggestion for Six Senses: Please add a warning to the mosquito spray (“Do not use in direct sunlight”) and provide a full list of ingredients on each bottle. SERVICE at Six Senses Yao Noi All the staff are very friendly and polite. We have been to another Six Senses resort five times before and have had four different GEMs (GEM = Guest Experience Maker). Most of the staff at Yao Noi did a really great job. However, the GEM service didn’t work as expected. We’re used to seeing the GEM at least once a day at breakfast (or maybe dinner) to check in. At Yao Noi, we mostly ran into her by accident—on the stairs, on our way to the buffet, or to our room, etc. Most of our contact was via WhatsApp. We do like that personal contact and making the best of our stay in collaboration with our GEM. We had an excellent shared boat trip to Phi Phi Island and a free guided tour through the mangroves — both were really great. Guide Buss, Captain Bao, Boatsman Mutti, and guide/beach manager Philip all did a great job. FOOD at Six Senses Yao Noi The Hilltop restaurant serves extremely basic food at sky-high prices. The price and quality are so far apart that it’s shocking. Cold seafood pasta, uncooked prawns, and soggy crispbread just aren’t acceptable for a resort of this level. Suggestion: Hire a new chef and create a truly gourmet menu. The view is stunning, of course—but you can enjoy that all day. In fact, it’s best at sunrise. The Nithan restaurant serves modern Thai food, which is delicious and more reasonably priced. Compliments to Chef Braden Reardon. Our best dining experience at Six Senses Yao Noi, surprisingly, was buffet night! Wow —the food was delicious and well-prepared. The grilled lobsters were superb. The glazed duck and all the hot dishes were excellent. A truly memorable evening! The main restaurant offers a mix of international and Thai cuisine. The food is good, and the quality and pricing are well balanced. Restaurant manager Yaya did an outstanding job — perhaps the person with the strongest Six Senses spirit at Yao Noi! Frame and Bank also did a good job. The BEACH The sandy beach is nice—the water is not. It’s extremely murky. Fishermen harvest jellyfish right off the coast. When they remove them, small stingy pieces get scattered in the water, causing stings. A warning flag is up most days. Paddle boards and kayaks are free. The ARRIVAL Service Probably the poorest arrival service ever offered by a luxury resort. “Pay more money or sit on a non-existent bench in the arrival hall for four hours.” Don’t greet your guests in the arrival hall if you don’t plan to provide any service that reflects the resort’s standards. ICE CREAM Six Senses resorts are often loved by children for their free ice cream. At Yao Noi, there were only 12 flavors. If the quality of those 12 had been excellent, that would’ve been fine. But sadly, the quality was pretty terrible. The texture was “floury” and not creamy at all. It resembled wet sand when your sandcastle falls apart. Suggestion: Hire a Sicilian ice cream chef to train your staff and invest in proper ice cream-making equipment. Also, create a welcoming ice cream parlor with chairs and tables where guests can gather and enjoy themselves. Consider transforming the bar area next to the reception into a large ice cream parlor—no one seems to use that bar anyway. THE ROOM (Villa No. 22) The room had the classic Six Senses decor and was absolutely stunning. It was large, spacious, with multiple showers and a huge bathroom. Even though the villas are built very close to each other along the mountainside, they feel extremely private and well-designed. Housekeeping was also good. The biggest disappointment, however, was the view. It was nowhere near what was promised for an Ocean Pool Villa, according to the website photos. The Spa We all had massage treatments. The therapists were very skilled, but they didn’t speak any English, which made communication quite difficult. There are no showers at the spa, so when you leave, your clothes get stained by the Tiger Balm or oils used during the treatment. The free yoga sessions were great, but unfortunately overcrowded. The yoga platform is beautiful with an excellent view, but the experience was disturbed by music and noise from the gym below. Summary All in all, a mixed experience. It’s too expensive for what you actually get — but the location alone still makes it somewhat recommendable.
Simply one of the most beautiful resorts and locations on Earth..no words shall match the beauty of Phang Nga Bay and the amazingly designed Six Senses Resort on Ko Yao Noi where the service and care of staff (who are true gems) provides for an anazing stay💐
The attention to detail and sense of tranquility across the entire resort. We were very impressed with the room and the daily small gifts placed into the room. The food was excellent and healthy. The spa was very special and that view from hilltop pool is so beautiful! The staff are to be very proud of their resort and the operation of it. World class resort, price reflects what you get and worth it.
Just finished a 9 days stay at Six Senses Yao Noi, and it was ok. But not more. Just ok. Which is dissapointing given the expectations we had from from previous Six Senses stays. But in more detail: Staff: 9/10 points Its Thailand, the attitude of the staff, the friendliness, the attention to detail is second to none. Nearly every staff member performs a good job and does the best to make you feel welcome. The food: 5/10 points Amazing breakfast, good service and selection. From local to western, from Japanese to Thai. Fresh fruit, healthy and also yummy selections. Actually the only reason for the 5 points. The rest of the offering gets boring very fast. Its ok tasty (except the pork belly mentioned in other reviews) but overpriced (100 USD for an in room dining steak, that even I can cook better). Good Thai, ok Western selection but prices that do not justify the quality and delivery. Dont get me wrong, its a remote location with higher production cost. But one should deliver better taste and presentation. Counts for all 3 main restaurants and in room dining. View from the Hilltop however is spectatcular. The rooms: 3/10 points Very tired if not to say old. A renovation is overdue and there is a slow decend into shabiness all around. Our friends in the neighbouring villa had the remainders of the toilet coming up in the shower, not very tasty. It was fixed, but the experience doesnt justify the room rate. It feels like every Dollar or Thai Baht is currently pressed out of the business with average service in return. The SPA: 20/10 points Just like the rest of the property, the SPA doesn´t look new, it also feels tired. But the treatments are out of this world. While expensive, they are worth every penny. Unlike the food or rooms. The property/island 10/10 If you are looking for a tropical paradise and dont care about run down rooms or average food, this is your place. Amazing vegetation and well maintained. In summary: If you want to stay 2-3 nights while hopping the Thai islands, if you dont care about value for money on rooms quality or food, this is a good place to stay. I feel ever since Six Senses was taken over by Intercontinental it went downhill. The old magic is gone. Sad ! So, in a nutshell and I said it before, if you charge Four Feasons prices you better deliver a Four Seasons experience and not a Holiday Inn one. And please, for the sake of this app and people reading your response. Avoid any AI generated response like “happy you like this and that, we will address the downside of your stay”. Do something about this average experience you provide.
There truly are not adequate words to express the amazing experience of staying at Six Senses Yao Noi! It is literally like stepping into a paradise dream!! The tranquility and stunning beauty of the property and your accommodations transcends you . It’s stepping into a fantasy. We spent 5 days here and from our airport arrival to departure every person we encountered was intent on making our stay perfect. The Thai culture and Buddhist serenity colors every day. Our Gem( butler) Must was an absolute treasure. We loved talking and learning from her and she made every day perfect. Anticipating our every need. Also special thanks to Miquel, Five, Pim, Gook, Boi, Frame, Pirawat, Ju, Fast and Chef Martin. The food , drinks and menu here couldn’t have been any better. We often shy from all inclusives because of the food quality and offerings- but it was wonderful here! A delicious feast every day. Make sure and do a private boat trip! We did the James Bond Island excursion and Man and Mim delivered a day we will remember forever. There are not words to describe the beauty of the turquoise Andaman Sea with its gum drop mountains rising out of the oceans!!!!! I visualize it every day!! You should treat yourself to a stay here- it is worth every penny and is absolute paradise.
Absolutely wonderful stay — easily the best experience we’ve had abroad. Six Senses is truly one of a kind. Nothing compares to the breathtaking view from the Hilltop pool, the warmth and attentiveness of the staff, and the incredible design of the walkways throughout the property. Getting picked up from our villa and seamlessly taken wherever we needed made everything feel effortless. Honestly, the entire experience felt magical.
Absolutely exceptional.
The view was so beautiful over the ocean and being situated in the jungle it was very special. The villas were spread out and very private. I loved the big outdoor living area with a lot of shade and that the beach was basically only for hotel guests. The breakfast was the best. Fresh fruit and tons of it- my favourite!! The service was amazing. The architecture was beautiful, lots of natural material and it just felt like it belonged.
We loved our stay there and would highly recommend it. But things to improve or to be aware:The six senses app did not work . Every time we ordered a buggy it didn’t work. Once we waited in the pouring rain for 25 minutes. It was 17.20 and the excuse was a shift change and high demand when we saw all the buggies standing empty around. We were asked were we wanted a dinner reservation and the answer was it’s a first come first serve for special tables,… The most annoying thing was the constant noise of the cicadas, we sometimes woke up at night from the noise. While the hotel supplied us with plenty of insect repellent, the Moskitos were a pain in the evening or even during Yoga in the morning.
My trip to six Senses @ Yao Noi was a great unmatched experience if you looking for a relaxing and quite top tear vacation. The resort management started follow up with with me regarding my arrival weeks before my arrival date. They wanted to make sure my trip from the Airport to the Marina and subsequently the boat trip to the Islad are all scheduled and planned correctly. Vanessa Acierto, Reservations Department, was following correctly to ensure all my planned, pick up, site visits, restaurants preference and tours are explained, planned, and reserved. Then on the day we arrived at the resort, a well experienced staff; Ganesh Sharma, was assigned to support us during our entire stay at Six Senses. He done a great job facilitating our stay and give us the best experience. No talking about the resort, I strongly recommend it if you need to have a relaxing and healthy vacation. It starts from the morning by visiting the resort farm to pickup your fresh eggs, mushrooms ( for the omelet ) and herbs. The restaurant will be happy to prepare your eggs based on your ingredients. The resort has two more restaurants; Nithan (Authentic Thai Cuisine) make sure not to miss. The food was phenomenal. I wish if I can go back again for their green curry and soft shell crab. Also the Hilltop restaurant and Bar the views and food were great. Very romantic. The private sandy beach with eady access and deep blue water at the resort was another great relaxing experience. The bar tender Rachan Jaras was extremely helpful in explaining the drinks herbs used from the garden and how it is used to prepare the local drinks. Not to forget the resort give the residents bicycles if they like to visit the close by villages. This experience was great and we had a chance to experience the local markets and sport activities. In summary it was a great experience if want to do again and again. Thank you all whom I mentioned and whom didn't have their names. Keep up the quality rich service 👌
An amazing experience, luxury and personal service that exceeded our expectations. Feels at times like your private island.
From the moment we stepped out of our transfer at the Marina in Phuket we knew this was a special resort. We welcomed and waited for the speed boat transfer to the island. On arrival at Six Senses Ganesh our GEM greeted us and took us on a short tour of the resort.. then onto our villa. We had the 2 bedroom hideaway.. wow! Imagine if you were deserted on a tropical island, your own tree house.. like say Family Robinson or Cast Away … but it’s a luxury five star one. Nestled into the jungle, surrounded by nature. It was idyllic. Float in your own pool while tropical birds fly above you… We tried all the restaurants, actually loved Living Room. Food and service .. but all were lovely. Recommend taking the bikes out and also the mangrove kayaking, both free. Definitely book yourself into the spa, even just for a steam and sauna. These are private areas you can have .. they r amazing. We also had some treatments which were just lovely. Six Senses Koh Yai Noi is less of a resort and more of an experience. We felt truly blessed to be there. Loved every minute.
We were overwhelmed by the incredible experience we had at the Six Senses Yao Noi and to count with a GEM like Ganesh to assist us at all times has been very rewarding. We’ll always remember Ganesh’s kindness and sweetness! Make sure to visit this paradise on earth.
Fictional Mad Men ad man Don Draper once mused, “I keep going places and ending up where I’ve already been.” Even the most jaded of global jetsetters, however, will not feel this sentiment at the Six Senses Yao Noi. This property is sui generis. Back in 1998, Swiss developers Germing Frey saw something others had overlooked: a former rubber plantation on the untouched island Koh Yao Noi, one of the 42 islands in the scenic Phang Nga Bay, was perfectly situated to build a resort. First operated as a Kempinski property, in 2008 this property became the Six Senses Yao Noi. With no operations in the United States, many Americans are unfamiliar with this flagship IHG brand, although an upcoming outpost is in development in New York’s Hudson Valley. This is a resort situated in the jungle and biophilia abounds. Although it is easily accessible by boat, it is an unspoiled world apart from the mass tourism of Phuket. With this comes welcome residents like majestic Oriental Pied Hornbills (one almost alighted on me as I was splashing about in my villa’s personal pool) and menaces like nasty mosquitos. Although the property does mosquito abatement thrice weekly, I suggest you apply the provided repellant and keep the mosquito coils sparked up, or you may find tell-tale red welts accompanying you on vacation. In particular, if you choose to undertake the complimentary guided kayak tour of the mangrove forest (delightful), make sure you apply repellent to your ankles and sunblock to the tops of your feet (lesson learned) as you won’t be shod. And speaking of the jungle, there are a tremendous number of trees that shed leaves more quickly than a New England hillside in October. Yet you will never hear the unwelcome whine of a leaf blower or snarl of a chainsaw. All of the pathways are immaculately maintained by a team of gardeners who work tirelessly to keep the place pristine. To give a sense of the velocity of leaf shedding, on my departure day, the portion the path shared with an adjacent villa along with its branched path were swept leaf free while the groundskeepers waited to sweep the spur to my villa until closer to the arrival time of the next occupant lest they simply have to start sweeping all over again. The density of foliage is such that when the property describes the view of the “Hideaway Pool Villa” as “Jungle,” you should believe it. You might only be a couple yards from another villa or 50 yards from the ocean but you will not be able to see either of them. It is complete privacy. If a room with a view is important to you (and there are some rooms with boffo views, including the most spectacular of them all appropriately and simply named “The View”), make sure you reserve an appropriate room category. All of the one-to-four bedroom villas are spacious, vibrantly decorated and filled with a confounding collection of switches controlling everything from lighting to fans to air conditioning. On my first night I had to venture outside past the pool to the end of the villa to locate the switch to a light that was shining into the bedroom window. Perhaps future room enhancements will include some automation technology to operate the systems and shades. This property operates close to full capacity almost all of the time, even during the low season when some of the 56 villas are unavailable for maintenance. When upgrades are available, the resort prioritizes them for what it terms “long staying” and returning guests (who also receive a cute “Welcome Home” plaque outside their doors). Booking through Virtuoso, AMEX FHR or being an IHG Diamond Royal Ambassador will likely not yield outsized results given the number of guests with similar status or higher upgrade proiority. If you are a IHG points enthusiast, however, this may prove to be a redemption opportunity that yields greater value than their customary US$0.005 valuation peg, at least until they adjust the number of points required to keep up with the rising cash room rates. Dining here is tasty, plentiful, varied across the three restaurants + room service and reasonably priced, with the notable exception of the eye-watering Andaman Rainbow Lobster at 6,800 Bhat. It could be simple menu price anchoring to make the other items look reasonable, but I’m buffaloed why high-end resorts crank up the price of these nocturnal omnivorous nautical scavengers to the moon and beyond. saw the same dynamic in Maldives. Perhaps some subsegment of guests must regard lobsters as a singularly indulgent vacation delicacy. I suggest you save your lobster consumption for your next trip to Maine. Breakfast is a particular treat, but keep an eye on the mouth-watering Thai mango which is snapped up as fast as a worker can slice it. While there is a pilot program in Florida to grow Thai papayas and mangos, until they become widely available in the US, you’ll be glad you tried them in their home setting. I also recommend the Phuket Noodle with Onsen Egg (order off the menu; it’s a different dish than the one prepared at the buffet noodle bar). One thing to skip here is oatmeal as it is the same instant variety you would find at a Holiday Inn Express. And if ice cream is your preferred way to cool down, you can enjoy as much home made ice cream as you desire all day long for free. For those venturing off property, there are a variety of coffee shops, beachside beer shacks, massage stands, restaurants and even two package stores for hootch for tourists visiting this 95+% Muslim island. Hit up the ATM across from the resort entrance as cash is king at these establishments. You will find these outposts both to the south and north of the resort but be advised that the road to the north features two rather formidable hills if you are on foot or bicycle while the road to the south is basically flat. Prior to visiting, I recommend signing up for the IHG Intercontinental Ambassador program (US$225/annually) to be treated to either a complimentary guided excursion or a massage for two from the storied spa regarded to be among the finest in Southeast Asia. You’ll make up the annual fee and then some with a single massage alone. The spa facility is indeed beautiful, nestled in the jungle in a classic Thai longhouse. Upon entering, I was given a form to fill out assessing my current level of stress and other preferences. I selected a 90-minute “medium” “relaxing” with the addition of hot stones. Well, perhaps something was lost in translation. The first 45-minutes were delightful. But then I think the therapist transitioned into the “Movement Restoration Massage.” She hopped up on the table and began pressing, pulling and stretching with all her might, rending me asunder in a such a fashion I felt I might cleave in twain. In fairness, throughout the session the therapist continually inquired as to how I was doing and whether she should lighten up. But I thought, “When is the next time I’m going to be in Thailand” and bid her to continue. At the conclusion, the only question the therapist asked was, “Did I make you cry?” The spa indicates it deploys “an intuitive mix of science and human awareness, where our high-tech and high-touch approach defines a service that is crafted around the individual.” Upon departure, my therapist suggested that I was in need of immediate additional intervention and recommended I return to the spa the following day. I demurred. YMMV but unless your métier is body builder at a circus, you might want to think twice about ordering a “Strong” massage here. The spa menu (which has illustrations reminiscent of the opening credits of The White Lotus) advises, “we will take you as deep as you would like to go.” Be careful of what you wish for. As for your fellow guests, you’ll likely find them relaxed, rugged, in fine fettle, fit and yoga-ready. The fitness center and yoga studio enjoy steady use throughout the day. The guests are not as uniformly American as those depicted on The White Lotus; they’re more of a mix of families and well-heeled couples in a Knives Out meets Agatha Christie mystery meets characters from the board game Clue – many of whom could have been lifted straight from a XXIO golf advertisement. With names like Duncan and Tobais, Eugenia and Tate, guests here hail from all over the world. This is reflected in the expansive library offerings available 24 hours a day. One day I was studying the bookshelves trying to discern a familiar title when a staffer gently informed me I was looking at the German language section. Sustainability is a top hallmark of the Six Senses brand. As CEO Neil Jacobs put it, “Every hotel has a sustainability director. That’s not the same as having a green team that meets once a month. This person touches every single department of the hotel and sits on the executive committee of the hotel. That just elevates the importance of the function within the organisation at the hotel level.” Indeed you will find no single use plastic here (or any sous vide food preparation requiring plastic) and from lemongrass straws to chicken coup to mushroom hut to garden and farm, this property walks the walk of sustainability. But there is one area where I believe the resort throws sustainability to the wind: transport. After making a booking, guests have the option of having the hotel arrange transfers to and from the property. And they are great: super convenient, timely, professional, friendly and fun. But one of the choices offered is whether guests want a shared or private speedboat – and many guests select the private option! I can understand if you happen to be Lalisa Manobal or Timothée Chalamet, you might require a private boat to accommodate your entourage and escape the paparazzi. But if you are just another anonymous rich person, why on earth do you need your own private boat to separate you from the other anonymous rich people with whom you will shortly be/or just have been sitting on the beach and dining with at the restaurants? These speedboats are not rinky-dink dinghies but powerful, luxurious, speedy craft with dual 200 horsepower motors that could easily accommodate 15 – 20 passengers… or more. Upon departing the property in my “shared” speedboat with another couple, a private speedboat with two other guests left the dock simultaneously. We raced each other across Phang Nga Bay and thirty minutes later arrived at the same dock in the Ao Por Marina at precisely the same time. Private land transfers make sense for people going to different locations and/or at different times. Duplicative boats going to the same destination at the same time do not. Unlike the fictional shared boat in the White Lotus Thailand, smoking is not allowed and no one on the shared boat was anything other than polite and pleasant, even with an impecunious piker like me stowing away. Years ago, the resort created its signature mellifluous jazz-filled 300-chicken coup to provide guests with fresh organic eggs onsite and reduce the carbon footprint from shipping them in each day from the mainland. While the same approach won’t work for guests, perhaps the Six Senses Yao Noi Sustainability Director can use this experience to develop a carbon offset for purchase program to diminish the environmental impact of those guests requiring their own personal nautical conveyance. Finally, here’s why they should have shot The White Lotus Season III here: all of the villa splendor of the Four Seasons Koa Samui + the breathtaking background of the karsts! Until coming here, my favorite pool with a view was the basking pool at the Post Ranch Inn in Big Sur, California to watch the whales swim by 1,200 feet below. But the karsts have won me over. This pool may well be the “Best Hotel Pool View” in the world. These “humpbacked limestone mountains” stand sentinel in Phang Nga Bay, at once immutable and yet ever changing over the course of the day. There’s nothing at all like them in North America or Europe. And the exteriors of the karsts are just the beginning! Inside the karsts are “hongs,” roofless interior chambers, hosting jungle vegetation, mangrove trees and even barrels of monkeys. What Mike White would have made of the mayhem. The good news is that while the crush of The White Lotus tourist trade descends on Koh Samui, Six Senses Yao Noi remains pristine and unspoiled. If you are looking for repose, reflection, reinvigoration, relaxation, renewal or a combination of all of the above, it’s highly likely you will find them here. It awaits your visit for sybaritic service, nature immersion, cultural connection and discovery of a new place guaranteed not to end up where you have already been – a destination worth the peregrination.
Being immersed truly in nature enjoying every single space. The support and readiness of the staff.
Had the most amazing 4 nights at Six Senses. A beautiful, tranquil setting with extremely friendly & helpful staff. We ate at all 3 restaurants & were not disappointed-excellent food & very attentive staff. Our GEM Ganesh made our stay extra special, keeping in touch regularly & ensuring that we had everything we wanted. We went on 2 trips-kayaking in the mangroves & an island tour on a tuk tuk which we thoroughly enjoyed. Would highly recommend staying on this beautiful island.
The service, the room villa, food and staff
Loved everything about the property.
Just sublime. A tranquil, private, considerate sanctuary with jaw dropping views. I feel so lucky that I was able to experience this outstanding resort. I’m not going to mention staff by name as every single one of them were kind, attentive and efficient, from the buggy drivers to the fabulous GEM that we were assigned, thank you 🙏🏼 all of you. I relaxed the moment I arrived and by the end of the 5 days, I had reached a level of relaxation not achieved for a very long time.
Amazing Stay, Great Swimming Pool, Amazing Food in all Restaurants, Spacious well equipped rooms, very very clean everywhere, friendly and professional staff, great Spa, don't miss the BBQ nights. My only grippe is that the place and the view and the atmosphere is clearly made for an Adults Only Property, the only reason not to return for us, is the presence of kids.
Fantastic hotel on a small beautiful island. beautiful scenery and great staff. Ganesh our GEM (guest experience manager) was incredibly helpful and made our stay perfect. Would highly recommend staying here and you will not be disappointed at all.
We had a fantastic time at Six Senses which was made even more special by our host Ganesh who on arrival showed us around the complex, arranged trips and meet all our needs during our stay which made our holiday memorable We will definitely return sometime in the future
The entire time we were at Six Sense Yao Noi felt like a dream. This property is truly special. I was admittedly a bit unsure what to expect based on some of the negative reviews here, but I was delighted to find what is certainly the most unique hotel I've ever stayed in. We took a transfer from Phuket Airport, which worked seamlessly. It was very windy the day of our arrival so the boat trip was a definitely a bit white-knuckle for us. Once we arrived, we were greeted by one of the management team and our GEM, Miguel. Miguel was so wonderful throughout our stay. He ensured we were well taken care of. We were given a tour of the property on arrival and we quickly saw how special it is. Nestled in the hillside of Yao Noi, you're essentially a part of the jungle. Yao Noi, while close to Phuket geographically, is a world away. It was so peaceful. The property is very hilly and quite large, but they have golf carts available all the time to bring you to where you need to go. Never had to wait more than 5 minutes for one. We stayed in an Oceanview Panorama Villa (villa 41) - and I won't ever forget walking down the steps for the first time onto the patio area and taking in the uninterrupted, 180 degree view of Phang Nga Bay and its magnificent karsts. We spent our whole 3 days on our villa patio enjoying the view, and in particular, watching the sun rise each morning was really special. The villa itself was spacious and clearly designed to make you feel at one with nature. Think of it as a luxury treehouse. And yes, there are sometimes critters inside with you - we just had some flies and a little lizard on the ceiling. It's all part of the experience. We were prepared for mosquitoes with Deep Woods OFF in tow - while we certainly got bitten, I was definitely expecting them to be a lot worse. My only constructive comment on the villa itself was the very light water pressure in the shower. I do understand the need to be eco-friendly especially at a place like this, but it was certainly underwhelming. The food was outstanding at all three restaurants. We ate at Nithan twice, had lunch at the Hilltop and ate several times at the Living Room. Food is creative and very tasty. We also were regular patrons of the ice-cream shop! Lastly - what really takes this place over the top is the staff. They are a remarkable group of people. While we found staff all over Thailand to be exceptionally friendly, the team at SS Yao Noi really are a cut above. Everyone was so kind, and they very clearly try as hard as they can to make a memorable experience for you. The staff in the Living Room memorized our coffee and breakfast orders after just one day. I had forgotten what I had and they reminded me - just little things like this. It makes the whole experience so much more enjoyable. To the entire team at SS Yao Noi - thank you so much for an incredible stay!! We hope to be back one day.
Everything!
Nothing!
Everything except the high price ^.*
We had lots of mosquitoes in the bedroom.
Excellent breakfast - really nicely displayed buffet and also a la crate
Everything about this property is exemplary. The staff were so kind and helpful, we loved the primitive but low-key tech friendly villa, the food was excellent and day tours to the Phi Phi Islands and diving, snorkeling etc were breathtaking. I have been blessed to stay in 5 star resorts in Australia, the Caribbean Hawaii etc and would rank this the best. Of course we will be back soon!
5******
We stayed 5 nights at the Six sense and enjoyed it very much.Louise did an outstanding support for us. She made all the dinner reservations and organized also the two trips perfectly. On her free day she even joined us as a guide for the island tour. We visited all three restaurants. In general the food was good but not at gourmet level. We have expected a higher level in particular for the European Food. We visited before the north of Thailand for three weeks and appreciated to have again some European food. Value for money starts to be in this Six Sense a bit out of balance.
Amazing experience. We did not want to leave the resort
