great location and responsive host! answered all my questions in a timely manner.

Place was dead, never saw any staff members
It was a beautiful hostel with perfect location. Great for stay in Jeonju!
Really cosy and a lot of space, especially public places, with a nice decoration and layout which really makes it looking like a real home and makes the communication with the other guests really easy and natural to happen. I totally recommend.
Good walkable location, price, AC.
Peak season must be in May - highly suggest viewing all of the negative reviews re seriously bad overbookings, which I'm just seeing. My experience was opposite - was ALL ALONE for 2+ days. Never saw or communicated with anyone from the hostel for my full 3 days there, other than my texting to ask if there's a front door lock code, which there isn't. Plus 1 awkward email asking me to leave a review, si here you.go. Front door is always unlocked which didn't feel safe. Stayed in 6 bed dorm, 4 of 6 bunk beds were unmade, with used duvet just thrown in unfolded bundle on top of each uncleaned matress. No one from the hostel ever showed up for my 3 full days there, meaning there was zero basic cleaning / sweeping, zero emptying of trash, zero toilet paper refills. Had to search for toilet paper my last day, finally found some upstairs, which was also just a creepy ghost town of empty unmade bunk beds. Beds just had a mattress cover over thin uncomfortable foam mattress and a duvet blanket, with no sheets. Good location, but was overall a very very odd and uncomfortable stay.
Hostel was very clean, and had an nice authentic ambiance. Nice amenities like kitchen common area etc. Also had plenty of bathrooms.
I didn’t see any!
Great facilities and location.
No complaints.
Amazing hostel and staff
I really enjoyed my stay here and found the accommodation to be excellent value. The manager was friendly and always willing to help. The location was ideal—most attractions were within walking distance. Overall, a great choice for the price.
The price is very reasonable and the location is very good, within walking distance of most places one may want to check out in the city. Free laundry machine (need to buy detergent) and kitchen are convenient.
The property was severely overbooked for four nights in a row, meaning that the manager knew about the situation but chose not to inform the guests beforehand. While I wasn't personally directly affected by the overbooking, that some guests had to sleep on the floor with no privacy meant that the otherwise beautifully decorated common areas were unavailable. There are no staff present, only a working holiday volunteer who cleans the place once a day. The manager only showed up when one night seven people had no beds and called him repeatedly to come up with a solution (which ended up being mattresses and blankets to sleep on on the floor). One can only hope they at least got their refund.
I arrived at the hotel and was put in a room with 9 other women, even though my reservation was for a 4-bed female room. When I asked about it on Booking.com, they didn't answer me. Incidentally, I had just arrived from Seoul after a long trip and needed to rest. Since they didn't answer, I called the number on the phone and was told that there was an overbooking and that they would refund me the difference. The fact is that I had booked a room for 4 because I wanted a room with 4 beds. If I had paid less, I would have booked the room with 8 beds, which was occupied by 9 (one of them on the floor). I asked about it and told them that I am a light sleeper and that was why I had booked a room with 4 beds, and that I probably wouldn't be able to rest because of that. It was then that the owner offered me 3 options: sleep in a 4-bed male room, sleep on the floor in the living room, or stay where I was. Whichever option I chose, he would refund my money in full for the inconvenience and nonsense. I decided to stay in the room with the other 9, after all I don't know which was worse, but to this day he hasn't given me back either the difference or the full refund he had promised. Don't believe anything they say, because they won't keep their word. I tried to contact them via chat several times and I also didn't get a response. I don't recommend it.
The location is quite good, walkable distance to Hanok village.
Dirty, some facilities like door lock need to be repaired. Overbooked happened to other guests but the manager didn’t perform actions earlier.
Great for the price if you’re on a budget.
Beds were uncomfortable, bathrooms were unclean and no vanities to brush your teeth other than communal kitchen. The common area adjoined to my bedroom so it was very noisy until early hours of the night. Had to book alternative accommodation to get a good nights rest unfortunately.
The decoration was very nice. Also, it was well located, walkable to most of interested points. I didn't use it but kitchen looked comfortable and plenty of tools.
The staff was nonexistent. They just told me my room, the password and to choose any bed I wanted. Reading other reviews probably I am wrong, but I only saw one toilet and one shower, which was decidedly few for so much people. I assume there were more, but nobody show me the installations. The room was small for 6 beds, and I think it should have been ventilated as there was this smell when a place is closed too much time. All things I mentioned before I can understand and tolerate without any problems, but what I found unacceptable is that I stayed 2 nights and for some reason they 2nd day, when I arrived after been outside all the day, my original bed was no longer mine, my stuff had been moved without any care and there was another guy in my bed (wasn't his fault, obviously). I found this outrageous and had never experienced before any similar situation in any hostel. I think they need more organization.
Badly overbooked hotel. Had to sleep with three other people in the lobby...
Nice location and great place to meet lots of other people.
The property was overbooked and many people including myself had to sleep on the floor. There is also little to no ventilation for the rooms and bathrooms so it was constantly sticky everywhere.
The location is very central, allowing you to easily walk to the tourist attractions. There was a space where you could get ready without disturbing others in the room.
Little attention from the staff, they only showed me where the room was but they didn't show me the shared areas I could access and other important things. The bathroom layout is not the most adequate.
Nothing
So this accommodation was a complete disaster. It was a long weekend in Korea and the property managed to overbook this accommodation 5 nights in a row. The owner did not reconcile the bookings between the two platforms he advertises on, and there were at least 8 people without beds the night I stayed. My booking was for two days but I left after one. The owner also knew before I arrived that day that he had overbooked the property, as this had already been going on for 3 nights before I showed up. Apparently the night before I arrived he didn't even show up to the accommodations until 1 AM to bring extra mattresses for the people who had no bed that night. Then everyone got to sleep together in the communal areas on both the first and second floor! Not to mention they lied about giving sheets pillowcases and towels, as none of the guests staying there (even the ones who had been there for many days already) had been given any. Even though they say online and also on the notice board that they provide these!! But instead everybody has to sleep with unwashed duvets and pillows, with only one of those elastic mattress protectors between your body and the literal mattress. Also worth noting, the shower on the second floor was leaking through the roof into the dining room while I was trying to eat breakfast. What a disaster of a hostel. Lastly, the owner refused to cancel my booking to give me a refund, even though he was the one who messed up and overbooked his property, not to mention he did not warn anybody arriving to jeonju that this was the case. There is no way he was unaware of the situation occurring on his property at that point, and it is completely inexcusable that this occurred for even one night, never mind for 5 nights in a row. Instead of cancelling my booking immediately after I asked him to, he suggested that I be the one to cancel, but if I did so then I would not be able to leave my honest review on his listing and also booking.
They had free water
They over booked the place four times over. We paided for a room of four people, there were ten!!! (10+ if you include people that were sleeping in the hallways!) Also the beds felt like they have never been cleaned, ever. A layer of filth that laid on it. Great location, expect a place to stay but not a bed nor an second of privacy
Really close to the hanok village, so convenient. The hostel was clean, really comfortable and had a lovely calm and friendly vibe
It wasn’t very social
I liked that it was clean, and very near the main tourist area, as you can walk to the hanok village and the traditional market. I also liked that there was a garden where you could sit when it was sunny outside.
I wasn’t able to find it at once, because there was a barrier in the parking lot, but I have already informed the owner about it so that they could include in their check-in reminder/procedure.
We really enjoyed our stay here, and found this accommodation to be very good value. The manager and staff were all very helpful and friendly, nothing was too much trouble. Great location, easy to walk to most things of interest. Overall, this place is really good value for money.
The property was very cute and nicely decorated, with lots of bathrooms, comfy beds and friendly staff! Great location as well as the hanok village is about a 10 min walk away.
The downstairs bathroom lock was broken, but I think the staff are going to fix it.
It was very affordable and clean, located right near the hanok village. highly recommend to any solo travelers
Out of 10 nights spent in and nearby Jeonju in between March and April 2025 I stayed 6 of these at Bucket. Without repeating myself, please see the previous raferences.
Really friendly staff who kept the space very clean. Plenty of bathrooms and showers to use and beds had curtains which was nice.
- I appreciated that the staff member did his best to accommodate me — especially when there was a power outage and my original room wasn’t available. He even switched rooms with someone so I could have a more private space. - The interior is nicely decorated, giving it a cozy, homelike feeling — almost like staying at a grandmother’s house.
- The room was incredibly stuffy, and I couldn’t open the window to ventilate. I ended up needing to leave the door open for air circulation. -The water pressure was very weak, making it difficult to take a proper shower. The toilet also didn’t flush properly — there was no flushing sound at all. In my panic, I tried to fix it myself, which unfortunately made me late for an online appointment. Thankfully, it eventually flushed on its own. -While the staff member was helpful, responses to my messages were often delayed by a couple of hours, which made it difficult to resolve issues quickly. -Lastly, I saw a rat near the entrance, moving in and out of a hole repeatedly, going back and forth. It was quite unsettling.
It's a really nice house with beautiful, lovely interior and floor heating in the common rooms. Bunk beds are a bit loud whenever you move, but definitely comfortable. There's a hammock outside and a little hollywood swing, perfect to chill if the weather lets you. Good location, convenience store and a cafe right around the corner, in walking time from Hanok Village and some hiking opportunities. You can buy shower towels there, but none for free use, which would be my only down point since I didn't bring one myself and had no more space in my luggage. Overall I had a great time and also got to meet a bunch of awesome people there.
I have kept extending the stay in the six male dorm day by day. As I have already written, I particularly liked the cosy liked home environment, the floor heating system, the possibility of using the kitchen with utensils, the freezer and refrigerator, the very central location. Recently I appreciated the fact there were few guests, the sound of the little water fountain in the living room, and the staff running the place who proposed and offered a home cooked dinner together.
The mattress is a bit too soft for me. I'd appreciate to have more space for luggage in the dormitory and a stronger light next to the bed.
I particularly appreciated: kitchen and utensils, fridge and refrigerator, free cold hot water refill station, strong WiFi, dining room with table. Besides, the floor heating system, the cosy atmosphere, the design of the furniture, the house like setting, the small size. Plus, it's centrally located.
I was looking for an electric socket in the bathroom but I was unable to find it. The socket next to the bed was a bit wobbly. The bed mattress was a bit too soft for me.
Beautiful place, very chic and more like a boutique hotel than a hostel! Located right near the the old town centre, with lots of cafes and restaurants nearby. The dorm was very comfortable and quiet. I had a wonderful stay here.
Amazing host, super friendly..went above & beyond to make me welcome! Extremely grateful 🙏 for his kindness 😍 Fantastic location Very stylish decorated Really loved my stay! Thank you
The single greatest bathroom I have ever seen in a hostel. Friendly general manager, very clean and nice atmosphere.
It is a lovely guesthouse, the hosts were so nice ! The place is super clean
The hostel has a good location, you can reach many attractions on foot. It's also very clean. The bathroom positively surprised me with its design. The beds are comfortable and the floor heating system is amazing. Communication with the property through booking is simple, you get the password to the room before your arrival. I was able to leave my luggage before the check in.
It was very cozy and clean — it has a welcoming vibe which I really loved! Otherwise the bunk beds aren’t too bad, the bottom beds even have a curtain for some privacy. The staff is very friendly and approachable, and they replied immediately on my enquiries! I can only recommend :) The location is also great, pretty close to the Hanok village, Nambu market and most attractions are also nearby.
I had some check in problems as the instructions weren’t too clear (e.g. I didn’t know which bed was assigned to me). But luckily once reaching out to the staff, they replied immediately to clear out the problems!
It was really clean, comfortable
It's kinda hard to find. Also, the bathroom was really cold, but I was visiting during one of the coldest day
The location was really amazing. Most things I wanted to see were in walking distance which was perfect. There are also a lot of Buses near which take you to the intercity bus terminal.
Great place with friendly staff!
Can be cold during winter but they provide heaters.
I really recommend this place. It is well located. You can easily visit everything walking around. If you come from the train station or the bus terminals, you have a bus station at less that a min walking. You have a convenience store just in front and restaurants and cafes around. The room is well-warmed during winter. The owner is really available for any issues, questions you may have. A really good option to consider when you stay in Jeonju.

You get excellent value for your money here. The interior ist lovely and everything ist really clean and tidy. The place is not far from the Hanok Village.
The heating takes a while to get going. But then it's comfortable for the night. The beds are not the softest but i slept well nonetheless.
Nice social spaces and large dorm rooms. The staff were super friendly. Easy to walk everywhere. If your following Naver it takes you a street too late, look out for the big signs for Bucket in what looks like a car park!
The heating wasn't fantastic but it was -7 outside!
Very nice and helpful staff, the facilities are clean and comfortable. I liked the design of the common areas. A special thank you for the extra towel.

Cute little place, very well located close to the historic places. The decoration is nice. There's a bathroom in the dorm and portable heaters. They are hairdryers, even hair straighteners. There's equipments in the kitchen to cook simple meals. Apparently you can have 1 free night if you leave a review (but I had already booked and paid for 2 nights).
No reception (self check-out), but you can still contact the owner on their phone number. No locker room to put the luggage before check-in or after check-out. Before I arrive, I asked if I could put my bag somwhere before the check-in, but they said that they normally don't allow it, but if I leave a good review, they would. Which I found strange and uncomfortable because I hadn't even seen the place yet, and I want to leave honest feedbacks based on my impression. After that, they still sent me the code for the dorm before 3pm, but I checked-in after, to avoid any misunderstanding. I saw a suitcase in the hallway though, so some people might do it. I don't think there was any cleaning done in my dorm for the 2 nights I stayed there, and the girls who were there before me said that it hadn't been done in a few days. The rubbish bin was full, so this could be improved. Also no one fault, but there was no hot water in the bathroom the first night I arrived, because I think a pipe burst due to the cold. Fortunately, there was hot water in the one and only bathroom outside of the dorm. The bathroom in the dorm could also use a sink, but it's quite small. No towels provided. Also I don't understand why it's "foreigners only", as it's always nice to meet local travelers.
The dorms were very nice! The beds were comfortable and each one had a lamp and charging port. There was also a full kitchen and places to sit and eat outside the dorms. The staff was friendly and responded quickly to messages, too!
I liked everything about it!
Cute, quaint and full of personality in the middle of a beautiful town.
A very cutesy hostel, clean, and warm in the winter. The employees spoke good english and were very nice!
Please keep in mind that towels are not included - however that was no big problem as you can buy a small for 2k which you can keep.
Beautiful little place. Super clean, super nicely designed, love the common areas especially, floor heating... Just amazing for very affordable price.
They could add a towel to use... That's it.
Close to the historical center, gorgeous decoration, overall very clean and comfortable :)
The staff is very nice and looks after the guests. In the women's dormitory there is an extra room with mirrors and hairdryers, so everyone has enough space. There is a table in front of the room and in the lobby where you can get together. The house is very lovingly decorated in an old western travel style and there is quiet, cozy music playing in the common areas. The atmosphere is great. I was there in the winter and there were extra patio heaters available in case you were a bit cooler. And outside there were tables and a hammock, which is definitely great in the summer.
The stay was warm and very convenient. It was so aesthetic with vintage themes and was well-maintained. The staff was so polite and made sure to give the best possible experience. Its close to all the main tourist attraction with multiple convenient store nearby so if you're looking for an affordable hostel, this would be it!! P.s Although this is already written on the Facilities section, they dont provide any towels so make sure you come prepared with it! :)
amazing hostel with friendly staff and fun common areas :) though it was low season, my friend and i made many other friends during our stay here
didnt get to see any staff cleaning the rooms during our week long stay but cleanliness is not an issue !
It was close to everything and really clean! The decoration of the house is so pretty, too! I loved everything about it
Nothing~
Nice small hostel with a kitchen that can be used and a cozy common area. Located in walking distance of many tourist spots.
its close to the attractions and the staff is very helpful.
the heater was shut down or broken the first day/night. so it was really cold (14 degrees) in this room. A girl, who arrived there few days ealier, told me that it was all the time that cold. I reported it and they fixed it and the temperature went up to 20 degrees. But that was only the sleep room. the community rooms and rest / bath rooms, were still cold. So the furnitures look nice / cozy but It wasn't cozy / warm enough to use them.
The decorations were cute
The building was freezing cold and now insulated. I booked a space in a room for 4 people and it was otherwise empty on the site was put in a room for 8 taht was full. The showers were cold. I also lost an item and contacted the owner about it, he said he’d get back to me and never did.
Really pleasant ambience with a great living room! Staff speak great English and rooms are warm for winter. Location's really close to the Hanbok village and easily accessible. Will definitely choose this place again when I come by Jeonju.
Nil
The room and other spaces was really nice and big, the bed was really comfortable. The location was also good even thought I had hard time finding the place (by the map).
Check-in information was send more than an hour after check-in's hour.
This hostel is amazing for solo traveler and it's definitely worth your money. Where there's a kitchen there's a talk. The kitchen is well equipped with all sort of utensils and the dining table is cozy and social. The staffs put in time and effort to ensure guests' stay is pleasant and comfortable. They speak perfect English and always ready to help you and interact with you. Laundry service is always available and you can air dry your clothes on the rooftop. It's LARGE!
Great vibes, clean, friendly staff
Nothing
The place is so comfortable. It’s social despite being low-season and has great amenities. Perfect location and the manager is very helpful. Highly recommend!
Nicely themed felt very cozy
No towels
The staff is very helpful and available. The facilities are great and the location is just perfect, two steps away from tge Hanok village!
It is cozy and clean and have all the things i need
Nothing
Super affordable and warm (ondol was on all day).
The bathroom in our dorm was broken. Only one other bathroom available downstairs in the common area. The staff forgot to mention about that, so I had to look around to find the other bathroom.
Staff are very friendly. Located near to many of the attractions. Very, very good price. Comfy enough.
One bathroom shared by two dorms but seems to be common thing in South Korea and never was too much of a line up.
Very good for the price! Lovely staff that engage a good social life for the customers! The beds seemed brand new and it was overall very clean. The hostel is also very well situated, less than 10min walk from the traditional village.
Well i was in a room with 8 OTHER PEOPLE, when i had paid extra to be in a room for 4 people. So the booking page does not reflect the actual arrangement of the hostel. In addition, i didn’t have power to charge my electronics (it seems to have been fixed since my departure).
Everything was absolutely fantastic! %100000 recommend to stay here • Cleanliness/property- everything was very clean, you can tell the property is new and also felt so homey and comfortable. The property was honestly so nice, I extended just to have more time to relax. The kitchen and fridge was also very clean and easy to use • Comfortable- bed was very comfy with privacy curtain. Room- in the dorm there was quite a lot of space to get ready, mirrors for makeup, storage bins under the beds for belongings • Bathroom had shampoo, body soap, shower had hot water and good shower pressure • Location- amazing, super close to good bus stops and walking distance to Hanok village and all the touristy must see sites • Price - worth every dollar, you get so much more than what you pay for •Safety- there’s a code for the dorm room to enter, loved it • manager was fantastic and so nice. Truly made my stay even better! OVERALL SUMMARY - I couldn’t recommend this place more. Literally every aspect was amazing
• No Towel- you don’t get one unless you pay a fee, but no big deal just make sure to bring one • No personal locker- it’s Korea so not a huge deal but still would have preferred to lock my cash and passports • Check in- it’s self check in however the message I received upon my booking didn’t contain details like which room number or floor I’m in. I needed to wait a little time for someone to come show me the room. I think this should be more clear in the message since it’s not technically self check in
There is a lot of care that has gone into getting this property up and running. The interiors are done tastefully, the toilets-showers are spacious, the bed is comfortable, and the outdoor-indoor social area is great for socializing. Bucket, I found out, runs programs for work-stay, so during your stay you may have some cool Koreans and foreigners hanging out, chilling. Jeonju is a slow-paced city with this backpackers right by the Hanok village. Going to return for sure!
I recently had the pleasure of staying at this wonderful hostel, and I can’t speak highly enough about my experience. From the moment I arrived, I was welcomed with warmth and genuine hospitality by the incredibly friendly staff. They made me feel right at home, always ready with a smile and eager to help with anything I needed, whether it was advice on local sights or just a friendly chat. One of the standout features of this hostel is its exceptional cleanliness. Every space, from the common areas to the rooms and bathrooms, was spotless. It was clear that maintaining a high standard of hygiene is a priority here. The interior design and decoration added to the charm—thoughtfully curated and stylish, creating a cozy and inviting atmosphere that instantly put me at ease. The environment was peaceful and relaxing, perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring. I appreciated how it struck a balance between being social without being noisy, allowing guests to connect with others or find a quiet corner to themselves. The fully equipped kitchen was another highlight. It had everything I needed to prepare meals easily, making it feel like a home away from home. The hot showers were a dream—perfect after a long day out. There’s nothing better than a super hot, powerful shower, and this place definitely delivered. The staff also provided excellent recommendations for local activities, restaurants, and hidden gems that made my stay even more special. Overall, staying at this hostel felt like being part of a welcoming home. I can’t recommend it enough to anyone looking for a clean, comfortable, and friendly place to stay. If you’re searching for a home-like experience with wonderful amenities and a peaceful vibe, this is the place to be!
I had an amazing experience at this hostel! From the moment I arrived, I was greeted by the incredibly friendly and welcoming staff who made me feel right at home. The hostel is kept spotlessly clean, which added so much comfort to my stay. The atmosphere is perfect for anyone looking to unwind. It’s calm and relaxed, making it easy to rest and enjoy your time without any stress. I originally planned to stay for just a few nights, but I ended up extending my stay simply because it was such a great place to chill, relax, and enjoy the comfort it offered.
