we LOVED our stay at lavenia rose cottages! the cottages are so sweet and spacious. beautifully done up with everything you need and more. beautiful, private lot (my family and i had both cottages so it was especially private) with a wonderful BBQ /fire pit area and a play area for kids. it was rainy when we stayed and we weren’t even disappointed to have to be inside because it is so cozy. we took full advantage of the couch, fireplace, and tv after traveling long days before we arrived. donna was so nice, checking in with us to make sure we arrived safely and found the cottages okay. she responded immediately when we returned her message. the cottages are perfectly situated so close to bonavista and elliston that we traveled into the towns multiple times. my sister, niece, and i hiked the trail behind the blue cottage to the arch rock. it was a nice little walk 2 minutes up the trail, then turn left at the top to get to the arch rock, about 15 more minutes. would recommend making this little hike. would 100% stay here again and recommend to anyone looking for a cozy, homey space to relax and come back to after a day of traveling/exploring/sightseeing.

one thing that would be nice is AC or some sort of air unit. during our stay we were comfortable (end of june and rainy colder weather), but any later in the summer it would have been hot.

We loved how comfortable and well appointed the cottage was, we felt at home instantly. It was clean and well stocked. There was a fabulous easy/moderate hike right outside the door which we enjoyed thoroughly

Loved the friendliness of the host. He had some great stories and did everything he could to make us feel at home. Location was excellent. Breakfast was great and we met some very interesting people.

Though the bed was wonderfully comfortable, the room was a bit dark and somewhat musty. Difficult for someone with allergies or asthma.

The cottage has everything you need for pleasant stay, it is very comfortable, and in a good location. Walking distance to the Catalina Arch Rock. Perfect location to get some solitude as it is in a very quiet neighborhood. The host was excellent; it was easy to get into the cottage, and parking was just in front . About 20 minutes distance to the Arch rock.

We had a wonderful stay here. The house is very cozy and has everything you need for a comfortable stay. During the snowstorm, the host even came to help shovel the snow for us, which we really appreciated. They were also incredibly thoughtful and let us know we could have a late check-out because of the weather, and shared helpful road condition information with us. Their kindness made the whole experience so much easier. This is definitely one of the most friendly and wonderful places you could choose to stay. Highly recommended.

The Harbour Mist cottage was beautiful! Very modern, clean, and in a quiet location! Donna has really thought of everything to make a stay here as enjoyable as it possibly can be! My husband and I highly recommend the Lavenia Rose Cottages!!

Very quiet location, off main road, plenty of parking space. About 10-15 minutes drive to e.g. Bonavista, supermarkets, cafe, Elliston (for puffins) etc.

The owner was in constant communication and supplied everything needed to help us feel like home. The cottage was very clean and had so many extras to help our stay be the best ever. It was a very quiet and private location but close to everything we wanted to do.

Really, there was nothing that we didn't like.

Every aspect of our short stay was well catered for with extreme care to present this cottage immaculately. It was truly a home away from home. Our host added lots of personal touches and had covered all aspects of a holiday stay. Being older we appreciated the presence of a folder containing guides for the unit as well suggested things to do, see and eat in the area.

So clean with all amenities there. Lovely hike nearby and close to everything. Very peaceful as well.

It was extremely clean and had what we needed. A real home not just a rental.

the heating was a little confusing and took awhile to get toasty. So was the TV. But we aren’t the best at that stuff

The cottage is cozy and comfortable. It's equipped with pretty much everything you need for your stay. The owner is very responsive in case you run into any problems. Overall, we had a great time. Highly recommended!

Great location, beautifully styled and clean accommodation.

The little thoughtful things like the bottle of wine, games, well-stocked kitchen, towels, and especially the outside patio and the trail to Arch Rock.

Nothing to dislike, but the address for Google Maps perhaps should be listed as on Little Catalina Rd rather than on Water St. as it led us down past the cottages and down to a gravel road labeled as Water St down to behind some private property.

Very well equipped and attractive property inside and out. Beautiful, natural setting with a deck and fire pit. Very clean and modern with personal touches. Host was very attentive and helpful.

This charming cottage was a good base for a leg of our travels to Newfoundland. We felt warmly welcomed and perfectly comfortable. Entering was clear and easy. Host left excellent literature to select a nice dining option for our family. Wish we could have stayed longer.

A perfect cottage for a family. We truly appreciated that they had board games and activities for kids. Very cozy, clean, and had everything we needed. Close enough to places we needed to get to and super quiet at night. Perfect for sleeping in.

Very quiet and peaceful. The fire pit/bbq area was outstanding! There was even a children's play area if you have little ones with you. Cottage was very tastefully appointed!

There was a keurig, which is great, but a few coffee choices would be nice.

This house was perfect for us (mom and two adult daughters). It was super clean, had great beds, sheets and towels, super cute with a bottle of wine waiting for us, and all the pots/knives we needed to make a healthy dinner after eating too many fish and chips. We really enjoyed the hike from the house to the arch, and it was super quiet. It had everything we needed from teapots to coffee pots, and a comfy couch for relaxing. Hot water and a great shower head - what else could you ask for? Thanks! Love have a key code to get in and out. We appreciated having coffee/tea, salt/pepper and the olive oil. Thanks!

Because our cell service is US (and we didn't but an international plan), it would have been better for us to receive the detailed property location (i.e., the exact coordinates that Google Maps needed to get us there) in advance. But we were only 2 blocks off, so it was no big deal.

The cottage is well located, cozy and quiet.

Cute, comfortable with everything you might need. Outdoor fireplace and sitting area along with the path to the arch are extra things to make the already wonderful stay more enjoyable. There’s even a park right beside the place for younger kids. The hosts have put a lot of love and care into this place!
