Haus am Wald

The place was fairly newly renovated. The view through the windows was mountains or forest. There were two balconies.

It was not clean. Under the bed it wasn't cleaned since the bed was placed there. The cobwebs were hanging on every corner. The place is invaded by pests. In the kitchen area, entrance and the bathroom there were silver fish bugs. There is no any kind of partition between the sleeping area and the kitchenette. It was really a hassle to make a coffee without waking eachother. It is a big problem when one wakes up at 5 o'clock, and the other at 8 o'clock. The warm water was not warm. During taking a shower the already barely warm water disappeared at all and I got full shower in cold. My partner also complained that he never got to the point when there were acceptably warm water during his showering. There were no peace and silence. Every noon kids were shouting, yelling, making noise outside until the sun went down. After that we heard them running and jumping inside, even though we stayed two floors above their floor. The host was not at the property when we arrived. This wasn't quite nice. Since no one open the what looked like the entrance, we went around the whole building looking for an alternative entrance until an older gentleman caught up with us and said that he could show as the room. The yard was full of thrown around toys and stuff that kids play. It was a chaos. All in all, when one pays almost 500€/4 nights stay, there are some expectations built up. Mine were not met at all.

Lehce nám vázla komunikace s majiteli. Majitelka se omlouvala, že je časově velice vytížená, což je pochopitelné, ale vy jako host bohužel potřebujete informace. Nakonec vždy vše dopadlo dobře.

Beautiful apartment in the country. Just 1min from main road and 5min to Strobl

Die Lage des Hauses ist sehr ruhig, was, wenn man auf Urlaub ist, sehr gut ist. Die Vermieterin war aus familären Gründen nicht anwesend, daher kann ich nur meine telefonischen Kontakte bewerten. Diese waren sehr freundlich. Der Schlüssel wurde uns von einem sehr netten älteren Mann übergeben. Das hat bestens funktioniert.

An der Balkontür war zwar ein Insektengitter vorhanden, leider aber beschädigt und daher nicht ganz wirkungsvoll. Am Fenster war kein Insektengitter, was zu Folge hatte, dass wir währen dem Fernsehen im Zimmer einige Schnaken, eine Hornisse und andere Insekten hatten. Da das Zimmer klein ist, mussten wir die Balkontür und das Fenster kippen um etwas frischere Luft im Zimmer zu haben. Meiner Meinung fehlt im Bad eine Matte, damit man, wenn man aus der Dusche heraus steigt, nicht Gefahr läuft auf den Fliesen auszurutschen.

It is a spacious and clean room. It is quiet and peaceful. We had a good stay.

The house is in a great location close to St. Gilgen and has a beautiful garden view. It is newly renovated and the owners are responsive. I highly recommend the place and we would stay longer if we could. It also has parking spots and a lift. Ignore the older comments as the owners seem to have addressed every issue and even placed a sign board to show the entrance.

Das Haus ist grundsätzlich sehr schön umgebaut und comfortabel. Auch mit dem Aufzug und den Stellplätzen. Die Lage mit den Rädern war super. Die Zimmer waren sauber.

Wir haben sehr kurzfristig die Nachricht bekommen, dass unsere ursprünglich gebuchten Appartements nicht zur Verfügung stehen. Das fanden wir nicht so toll. Es wurde aber eine Lösung gefunden.

En primer lugar destacar la amabilidad de Viktoria, nos ayudó en todas nuestras peticiones y resolvió nuestras super rápido , es muy competente! El entorno es precioso, muy relajante , y, a la vez, está a unos minutos de la parada de bus. La cocina está bien equipada de platos , tazas, horno , incluso lavavajillas, lo cual nos vino muy bien.

No es una crítica, simplemente tener en cuenta que debéis llevar si queréis cocinar aceite.

Leider nichts!

Ich hatte für 8 unserer Hochzeitsgäste Zimmer im Haus am Wald gebucht. Ich habe vorab mit der Dame bezüglich dem Check in der Gäste telefoniert - ein früher Check in wurde mir damals auch bestätigt. Leider war das Haus am Wald schon damals telefonisch immer schwer zu erreichen, da eine alte Nummer hinterlegt ist. Am Vortag der Hochzeit um 18 Uhr rief mich die Dame des Hauses an, um mir mitzuteilen, dass booking sie überbucht hat und deshalb meine Gäste am nächsten Tag nicht bei Ihnen übernachten können. Sie hat sich zwar um ein Ersatzquartier in der Nähe gekümmert dies entsprach aber bei Weitem nicht dem Standard des Haus am Waldes. Anscheinend kann man auch nicht für 1 Nacht dort buchen, was über booking.com aber kein Problem war. Die Zahlung vorab hat das Haus am Wald aber angenommen, statt sich dann gleich zu melden wurde bis 1 Tag vor der Anreise gewartet.

Die neue Ausstattung und die völlige Ruhe

Sehr schönes Haus idyllisch am Waldrand gelegen, jedoch nicht zu sehr außerhalb. Gute und solide hochwertige Einrichtung in Top-Zustand. Bequemes Bett. 2 Balkone im Apartement. Wir hatten alles, was wir brauchten. Auch Kaffeekapseln wurden bereitgestellt für den Anfang. Bushaltestelle 5 Minuten entfernt, das kostenlose Busticket ist perfekt! Schön, dass es einen hauseigenen Badeplatz gibt! Sehr nette Gastgeberfamilie.

Es gab einen Flüssigseifenspender im Bad, ansonsten keine Pflegeprodukte. In der Küche ein verdünntes Handspülmittel (Spülmittel für die Spülmaschine war vorhanden). Bei Ankunft am Samstag Nachmittag etwas schwierig, aber wir hatten eine Notausstattung dabei!!

Die Lage war ideal zur Erholung. Ruhig und entspannend, weil gleich am Waldrand aber durch die Bushaltestelle keine 5 min entfernt super zu erreichen.

Nice large room with view to farmland. Bus from here into Salzburg excellent and the owner organised free transport pass for us.

We had booked a room with a kitchen, but apparently there was some issue with the room being somehow double booked. Very disappointed as having a full kitchen was probably the main reason we booked this property. There is a communal kitchenette but there is no oven or hob, so can't cook eggs or anything like that. We did use the BBQ.

De locatie was prima, uitstekende kwaliteit van het appartement. Veel aandacht besteed aan en gebruik gemaakt van goede materialen

De communicatie omtrent de ligging was een probleem voor de navigatie !! Bergweg in Strobl was niet aanwezig in de navigatie. Uiteindelijk met Ook Haus im Wald was niet te vinden in Strobl. Uiteindelijk heeft Apple maps uitkomst gegeven.

Die ruhige Lage

Wunderbares Haus am Waldrand, Sehr ruhig umgeben von Natur. Das Zimmer war in neuem Zustand und wir haben uns ausgesprochen wohl gefühlt. Sehr sympathische Gastgeberin.

Die Lage war traumhaft - so ein schöner Ausblick!

Leider gab es einen Fehler bei der Buchung auf Booking, daher waren nicht genügend Zimmer verfügbar. Die Eigentümerin hat sich aber sofort um alternativen gekümmert und alles war gut!

Viktoria war sehr freundlich Parkplatz vor der Türe Alles sehr schön und modern

The hotel is located in a picturesque area, which is perfect to relax, but also a good base to explore Salzkammergut. Our rooms were nice, with everything we needed. Staff was kind and helpful.

Super netter Empfang, modern und liebevoll eingerichtete Ferienwohnung zum Wohlfühlen. Das Haus liegt nahe am Wald, sehr ruhig. Der See ist gut zu erreichen, es gibt viele Möglichkeiten zum Baden und Wandern.

The host and her family are friendly people. We liked the flat, everything is new in the flat. It was also very clean and tidy. We found the duvet too warm for sleeping. The host was very kind, and provided us with some thinner duvet. Great thing that there is an elevator in the house, no need to climb the stairs. Our room had a small balcony, with some lovely view to some green hills.

Our German knowledge is very limited. We found a sheet with some helpful (or not so helpful) infos in the room. However, it was in German, so we didn't quite understand it. An English translation would be well appreciated. Also, when booking the flat on booking.com we found that breakfast is available. However, that was not the case. Upon arrival, we were told that there is a nearby restaurant 5 mins away where we could have breakfast. (16 Euros per person, which we found a bit overpriced). It would be really helpful to have that info updated on the website, so it is not misleading. My wife and I travelled for holiday, did not know the area well. We had to rely on public transport. We would have appreciated a bit more information from the host about the area. Written information would have sufficed.

המקום מקסים, ממוקם ליד יער שיוצאים ממנו מדי פעם איילים וסנאים, יש חניה, קומה שלישית עם מעלית. היה לנו נח ונעים, המארחת היתה נעימה מאוד.

Ambiente pulito, panorama fantastico, parcheggio gratuito e coperto. La camera nuova, arredamento tipico e molto silenzioso. Ascensore nuovo. Totale libertà e accogliente anche il signore sempre con il sorriso.

Garbage bags for the recycling bin were too small, and there was no sponge for washing dishes in the kitchen. Мешки для мусора в контейнере для переработки были слишком маленькие, и на кухне не было губки для мытья посуды. שקיות האשפה לפח המיחזור היו קטנות מדי, ולא הייתה ספוגית לשטיפת כלים במטבח.

- Mattress is not great - Pillows need an update or variety for different sleepers - There are a lot of perks to staying in the Salzkammergut area and this particular house, but they're a bit hard to access due to a lack of description/instructions about the house. If communication with host would be improved and pillows updated, we would happily come back! - It would be a huge improvement to have a booklet with all of the information -- wifi password (we guessed haha), how to order bread service, how to access private beach (we never got this information even after requesting it), how to get the free public transportation ticket (also never got this info and ended up spending quite a bit on public transport), what to do with trash/recycling for longer stays, how to get more coffee pods (some reviews suggest these could be restocked?), and then any FAQ/advice travelers ask (where to buy groceries, best places to eat, etc.). I understand that the family doesn't want to be bothered with many questions from the guests, and having a place where guests can access this information easily would ease the burden on both guests and host. The hosts were super nice and accommodating, and I would recommend staying with this wonderful family -- it's just a matter of improving communication.

in der Beschreibung stand Tischtennistisch, Fahrräder und Fitnessraum - das haben wir vermisst, kleiner Balkon nur 2 Sessel wir waren aber zu 3, am letzten Abend waren die ankommenden Gäste sehr laut

Highly recommended! A beautiful wooden house, and the host and children are very friendly. The house is just a 5-minute walk from the bus stop, and taking bus line 150 allows you to get anywhere. The house is clean and tidy, with mountain views right outside the window—I had a very comfortable stay.

Easy check In with friendly family. Bright, clean, spacious, and sunny room. Beautiful farm location. Well equipped kitchen. Comfortable beds. Washing machine, dryer, and clothes rack provided for free. Local lake access card. Great location close to St Wolfgang, supermarket, gondola, and lake.

The apartment had absolutely everything that we could've wanted. Extremely well furnished with beautiful crockery, great views. Host very friendly and responsive, accommodating to our requests also. In the summer there are many insects, but one of the windows had an insect screen so we could still enjoy the breeze without getting bitten - this is the kind of attention to detail you can expect from this place! Extremely affordable for such a lovely apartment. Access to bus 150 (direct to Salzburg/ Bad Ischl) from the main road is convenient. As this property is located within Salzburg province, we had the guest mobility ticket for free public transport within Salzburg.

To nitpick, a microwave and some shower products would have completed the stay perfectly. Access to Wolfgangsee on foot is not that great, to a beachfront that is pay-to-access and a pretty shallow beach. But as mentioned, access by bus to St Gilgen is very convenient.

Such a fantastic stay, everything was exceptional, modern facilities in a beautiful house, the host is so welcoming and joyful, really a fantastic spot to stay, only a 200 M walk from the bus stop it is a breeze to get to by public transport.
