The host is so friendly and nice! He got us coffee every morning, cold water, he even gave us a cooler to take to the beach.
All is good

EDIT: I wrote my review and got the most passive aggressive text message sent to my personal phone from the owners. See attached photo. I sent the review so they could improve but all they did was get defensive and further interrupt my vacation. You don’t need to deal with this. Original review below. They lied about location being close to everything. They lied about having hot water. There were beer cans all over the deck. No one was there to check us in (after I messaged my arrival time several times) and they blew up my phone in the middle of my vacation over payment when no one was even there to arrange it. And the sheets smelled like other people - Not clean. Bathrooms were clean but had exposed wires near the water source. You absolutely need a vehicle.
It’s very centric, the owners are kind and attentive and place is so nice with amazing views.
Views, host, location were all good. Host was very accommodating. Good wake up call with the chickens
Personale molto gentile e disponibile , immerso nella natura, docce e bagni bellissimi
Amazing host and accommodations!

Host had tent set up with inflated mattress and sheets on roof top with view of Culebra island in the distance. Tent was large and you could stand up and walk around. He has various sizes available depending on number of guests and may upgrade you to larger tent if it is available. I booked using Booking.com. Larger tents have lots of room and remained dry during a rain storm that lasted all day. There are mens and women’s shower (not hot) and toilets with sinks. Rustic and all wood but far better than most small camp grounds I have been to. Rooftop decks have chairs and seats to watch sunrise and sunsets. Amenities are convenient and host has kitchen door open in the morning with coffee in a coffee pot. I walked from town with my backpack and carry on with wheels. It takes 15 - 20 minutes and it uphill but not too bad. Sidewalks aren’t always walkable so stepping into the street is the only option but traffic is sparse and mostly easy going and slow.
There is not much not to like. It is not a hotel but if you are camping and are hiking anyway, it is perfect and what is not to like about an open air rooftop with views. There are roosters that may wake up a lite sleeper so bring earplugs if you can remember to do so.
The view was amazing and the queen tent was super comfy. We had a very nice time with the host Rollin who offered us recommended tours and pick-ups from the ferry terminal :)

The host was very friendly, attentive and accommodating.
WE LOVED THIS PROPERTY SO MUCH!!! Rollin was kind enough to give us an upgrade with an extremely spacious tent and two super comfy queen air mattresses opposed to originally booked twin sizes for 4 nights which had a SPECTACULAR VIEW of the island. The tent was rainproof even during a heavy rainstorm and had a convenient power cord with two outlets inside of the tent. There were multiple seating areas to enjoy along with a picnic table to eat meals while watching the sunset. The bathrooms were well kept and the showers were amazing after coming back super sandy from a long day at the beach. Rollin and Ladygirl (his adorable border collie) were so hospitable and generous. He gave us many helpful tips and sightseeing suggestions and we couldn’t have enjoyed our vacation anywhere near as much without them. His yard also had mango, banana, and soursop trees which Rollin graciously allowed us to help ourselves along with morning coffee. CANNOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE ENOUGH!!
Nothing!!
I was a little bit skeptical about sleeping in a tent like that, not in a campsite, but it was actually a really nice experience. Our host was really the nicest and sweetest. We got sheets, towels and shampoo/body wash included.
The owner, Rollin, and his dog, lady girl, we’re good host and balanced the ‘glamping’ situation. He gave us a welcome homemade juice and made sure we had a flashlight for night. He kindly agreed to make us coffee in the morning.
There needs to be several additions to camping on concrete before it can pass as glamping. It wasn’t an inflatable bed but a half deflated mattress pad. I was extremely cold with the sheet-only - glamping should have a blanket, even camping has a sleeping bag. I put the provided towel over the sheet to be able to sleep at all. Mom & I were woken up 5:30am by the “sounds of nature” - hundreds of roosters cockadoodling off the chain. Then when they died down we slept an additional hour before waking ip in a hot sweat from the sun beating down on the roof. A cassette toilet or bucket 🪣 toilet is essential on each floor, we had to go down 3 flights in the middle of the night to use the toilet. All tents by default should have flashlights and other camping essentials and glamping amenities.
Great welcome and service!
Great views, convenient location ( we had a golf cart ) Rollin was the best host ever!!
The chickens woke us up too early! Of course, this will happen anywhere on the island.
Uncomfortable .
Unkept
Rollin was a great host. He gave us very good advices before and after the arrival that makes everything easier. The place is very clean and it has everything you can need. The tent was huge and the bed super comfortable. We really enjoyed our time there and definitely we will repeat this place the next time in Vieques.
The owner went out of his way to ensure our group of 9 had a set-up that worked for us. He was very responsive to messages and even had me call him to work out more intricate details. It was a fantastic experience for college students visiting for a service trip, the air pads were quite comfy, the conversation and recommendations were top notch (and you can't say you weren't warned about the rooster calls in advance, ha). Lovely experience, thank you!
The owner went above and beyond to accommodate our needs as a first time traveler to Vieques, he ensured we had all our needs taken care of. The beds were so comfortable, he got us home safely from the airport and ensured we made it back to the ferry on time. I highly recommend Rooster Run Glamping.
David is a fantastic & friendly host! It's fascinating what he's managed to build here, and run everything all by himself. Would definitely visit again! He made camping (which is not supposed to be very comfortable) a very comfortable experience for us! The tent I booked was for 2 people, and it was actually a huge tent for 2. Neat bathroom, hose pipe outside to wash off all the sand from your beach outings, and an affordable $25 shuttle from & to the ferry terminal. He's got good recommendations on what to do in the island, and his taxi driver recommendation was great too - he was among the most affordable in town.
Near the ferry, very nice host, towel included, competitively priced, great views and coffee in the morning, host knows the area and can give recommendations, taxi drivers, maps, e.t.c.
A bit far from bio bay, if that’s your only goal but worth it for the price
Rollin was a really nice person, he let us use the kitchen for one late dinner we wanted to make despite it wasn´t included. If you try to experience living in a tent with a really nice noise of nature, this is your place.
The location of the place is not the best to go by yourself and if you have big luggage, as the road from the ferry port to the venue is quite steep and difficult. Walking distance is +20 minutes with the hills but not possible with wheely luggage. The bathroom smelled quite bad at certain points. other than that, it was worth it for the price we paid.
Rollin is extremely kind and sleeping in a tent and listening to nature during the night was a magical experience!
Rollin and his dog Lady Girl were incredibly kind, helpful, and welcoming even before our arrival. The accommodation was perfectly located, offering a stunning view, and the tent was just perfect. We will definitely be back and are excited to see how his future plans have developed!
Way too short stay.
A very cozy place with a very lovely host. I felt welcome and will definitely stay here again, once I come back!
I really enjoyed my stay at Rollin's Rooster Run Guest House. I opted to stay at a tent with a beautiful view for more immersion with the surroundings. Rollin was hospitable and of assistance with any questions I had as well as offered helpful information about the island. The place was clean and the accommodation was affordable and at a good location just above Isabel 2 downtown. I recommend Rooster Run Guesthouse and Camping and will be back here myself in the future.
I chose this location due to its closeness to the port. I wanted to take an early ferry and it is just a 20 minute walk from there. The host went above and beyond a little issue that caused him not to be present at check in time. He accommodated my arrival with a great accommodation. The place is still being renovated (exterior) and I think it will look great after it is completed.
The only thing that could have topped the stay would have been having wifi available for the guests!
Very good place, good value.
