Bective Mill Glamping & Camping

It was glamping so breakfast wasn't provided. However the little coffee dock was fantastic. The coffee was fabulous and the banana bread. Nice to have a little treat before we headed back home after our stay. The girl that served us was also very polite and fantastic asset to your business. We were at the coffee dock on the 13th of September if that helps with some recognition.

Everything was good. It was our first time glamping. There was however a bad smell of sewerage but other than that it was very good and quite peaceful.

The cabin setting and the atmosphere around

La casetta è molto carina e completa di tutto. Ci sono anche tavoli e sedie fuori. Ai bambini è piaciuta molto. C'è anche il riscaldamento. A due passi si trova una cattedrale abbandonata da visitare e un pub. Se avete altre esigenze dovete spostarvi in città con l'auto, ci vogliono dieci minuti.

Occhio se arrivate intorno alle 18 perchè c'è una sauna e quelli che ci vengono dopo lavoro occupano anche i posti che sarebbero riservati alle casette. C'era un odore fastidioso fuori, tipo discarica ma non ho capito da dove arrivasse. Il telefono non prende bene e il wifi che mettono a disposizione spesso non funziona

One timy addition to improve the outdoor area would be to have an awning or tarp covering over the terrace area where the bbq facilities are and over the terrace outside each A-frane to enhance the outdoor experience whatever the weather!

The space for the dog. Pod accommodation was excellent, shower was great. We had everything we needed.

Cafe was closed on weekdays.

A frames are great, have everything you need. Clean. Great setting, very quiet. Beds were comfortable.

Kids absolutely loved the loft. Pullout bed was better than average, so okay. The owners were very responsive. A previous guest had turned off the power to basically everything and they came by to fix it very quickly and were very friendly. Ingenious loft ladder design.

No squeegee in the bathroom for after showering. The shower and bathroom floor are the same, so need a big floor squeegee for clean up.

Had a wonderful peaceful stay and the vouchers for the sauna were a bonus. Silence and peace was idyllic. A frames are so well kitted out and absolutely spotless clean.

Would be nice to get a midweek price deal! Pillows were particularly hard but that’s the most minimalistic issue.

It was the first time we did clamping, and we loved it. The bungalow was great and clean.

We didn't have breakfast i wasnt aware it was part of the stay I didnt read it the place was spotless. Bed comfy but the heating would not work so was cold for while. Bathroom lovely

The toilet leaked into the shower. The bed is extremely uncomfortable I left something behind, send them a email to try and get it back, but they don't respond

Location was great, by the river and there's a sauna if you want (book and pay separately for this). Very quiet. Pod was very clean and had a kettle, toaster, cutlery etc to make breakfast and snacks. Shower was good. Pet friendly!

It was too expensive for what it is, not good value for money. Beds were quite uncomfortable - options are an inflatable mattress in the loft or a pullout sofa bed downstairs.

Excellent location for us. In close proximity to the saunas and Bective tea rooms. Plus pizza and pub up the road which I intend to try next time.

Proper was lovely. The sofa bed took a bit of working out and not very comfortable. Pillows kept falling through the gap. I think the few changes I would make are, better quality bedding pillows etc and some tiny things like milk to go with tea and coffee provided and perhaps a small microwave, air fryer and hair dryer. I feel for little money you could upgrade these pod massively to top notch.

We stayed on a friday so there was a bit of late noise from the adjacent sauna. The loft ladder was difficult to get down with the sofa bed out- definitely an easy fix. A fence to seperate the carpark from the A frame area would be good for families with small kids too as it was a very busy carpark area when we stayed. We found the loft bed quite hard

Property was spotless if a little chilly when we arrived. Very spacious.

The stairs are a little precarious but overall good. Slightly overpriced for one night stay.

La mia esperienza in questo pod è stata purtroppo molto negativa. Già dall’esterno la struttura appariva trascurata: ragnatele ovunque e un aspetto generale di abbandono. L’intero campeggio dava l’impressione di non essere curato, più simile a un campo improvvisato che a una struttura ricettiva. All’interno la situazione non migliora: gli spazi erano gestiti male, con un soppalco improvvisato in cui un materasso era semplicemente appoggiato a terra, sotto un soffitto infestato da ragni e ragnatele. Le tende della porta d’ingresso erano macchiate da numerosi insetti morti schiacciati, mentre il lampadario era ricoperto da uno spesso strato di polvere, segno evidente della mancanza di pulizia. Nel complesso, il livello di igiene e manutenzione era inesistente e non rispecchia minimamente gli standard minimi per un soggiorno confortevole. Una grande delusione: sconsiglio vivamente questa struttura a chiunque cerchi un alloggio pulito e accogliente. Infine, la cosa più “divertente” è che tra tutti le location in cui ho soggiornato in Irlanda, questa è stata l’unica ad essere terribile e la più costosa. Staff inesistente.

Met de landelijke ligging van de locatie van de Bective Mill aan een soort van watertje is opzich niet zoveel mis. Het heeft wellicht potentie, maar niet zoals het nu gaat, eruit ziet.

De locatie is vreselijk rommelig bij een zeer oude vervallen watermolen. Je denkt dat je in het hippie tijdperk bent beland, overal bbq's voor algemeen gebruik onder een partytent. De receptie lijkt gebouwd uit pallets. Zeker niet uitnodigend. Er staan hier en daar caravans die waarschijnlijk verhuurd worden. Op het terrein staan containers met daarin een sauna genaamd de Hot Box. We waren blij dat we er niet in het weekend waren, want op de door de weekse dagen in de avond kwamen er al vele bezoekers met auto's van elders. Deze bezoekers stonden zich buiten om te kleden. Het groene glamping onderkomen van ons was warm, onze 2 puber kinderen sliepen boven in de krappe nok. Te bereiken via een in te klappen vlizotrap. Geen airco. Gelukkig was er een dakraam en ventilator. Wij sliepen beneden op een slaapbank met weinig comfort. De afvoer van de keuken raakte verstopt. Badkamer was redelijk oké. Een gastheer/vrouw hebben we niet gezien. De plaatjes zien er op papier prachtig uit, maar de praktijk is anders. Deze accommodatie was tijdens onze vakantie het duurste, maar ook het slechtste. Verhouding prijs kwaliteit zeker niet goed, erg jammer. We waren gelukkig overdag weg dingen bezoeken, want op het terrein waren weinig activiteiten te doen.

The site was clean throughout, which made our stay relaxing. The location is fantastic – peaceful, scenic, and perfectly placed for exploring the beautiful surroundings. The facilities were excellent, well-maintained, and thoughtfully set up to meet every need. The charming setting with its lovely natural surroundings, made it the perfect getaway to unwind and enjoy nature.

One disappointment was when our puppy was accused of attacking the on-site dog, when in reality they had only been playing. It did put a bit of a damper on the stay, but aside from that, everything else was fantastic.

This part of Meath is really lovely. The setting for the site is great and only a short drive to Navan.

Bective Mill Glamping is set in a beautiful location just a short drive from Navan, offering a site with great potential. The glamping pods are a fantastic idea, and the natural surroundings add to the charm. However, the site is in serious need of cleaning, maintenance, and general attention. The pod we stayed in had a nice design but clearly required a deep clean both inside and out. The decking area also needed washing and repainting, and the outdoor furniture, particularly the garden seats, was extremely dirty—despite being the type that's easy to maintain with a simple weekly rinse. The gravel around the pods was overgrown with weeds, making the area appear neglected, and the BBQ and parking areas also required weeding and tidying. Exploring the grounds, including the Mill and what seemed to be a communal campers’ kitchen, I was genuinely shocked at the state of disrepair. Graffiti marked part of the Mill—a simple fix that had been ignored. The contrast between the well-kept grassy camping area and the neglected surrounding spaces was stark. Customer service was notably lacking; we arrived on a Friday and left on Sunday without ever being greeted or checked in on. The mobile home that appears to serve as reception was uninviting and not clearly staffed, leaving us unsure of who to approach if needed. Having camped and glamped all over Ireland, I found that Bective Mill Glamping fell well short of the standard expected. One other issue to note is the hot box sauna, which brings in many outside visitors throughout the day and evening. This made the car park near the pods busy and detracted from the sense of relaxation. In summary, Bective Mill Glamping has the potential to be a wonderful retreat in a beautiful setting. However, it currently falls short due to the lack of cleanliness, poor maintenance, and minimal guest engagement.

Glamping pod was very good. Clean and had everything we needed. Both beds were very comfortable. Even the sofa bed. Great location for visiting the hill of yara and other places of interest.

There seemed to be ongoing work at the glamping pods and their surroundings. Tools left lying around but hopefully this work will be completed soon and area look more tidy.

Was such a beautiful location, so peaceful and very comfortable and clean in the pods. So nice to be by the river as well and use the sauna. Very friendly staff.

There was no fridge, just a freezer.

Gas BBQ, amenities in the accommodation

The grass area had a lot of dog poo so my daughter couldn’t really run around and play Barbecue was used on the first day and didn’t get cleaned. We just reused it on the second day

Gorgeous location on the river Boyne

It’s not that I didn’t like it but the property is expensive for 1 night.. ( it’s not a full 24 hours on the location) also no facilities for recycling.

Everything was exceptional, beds were comfortable, bathroom was clean, well stocked, shower was absolutely huge. My kids and i loved it.

Shower was placed in the middle of the bathroom and everything was wet after a shower. WiFi did not work inside the A-frame House and no mobile Connection.

Location, lovely staff

We booked 3 nights for 3 adults,A-frame 1 is too small for 3 adults,we left place after second night,too stuffy,no air.

Sauna and cold water swimming facilities beside the campsite and great country pub with fab woodfired pizzas a short walk away. The pods are nice and new and the kids loved the mezzanine bedroom with fairy lights. The nearby Bective Abbey is lovely too

There isn't a lot to do in the surrounding area and the campsite is very small and doesn't have a lot of facilities

Not really suitable fir 3 people. Two is ideal.

The setting was nice and compact for the family, giving it that real family feel.

The sofa bed I felt had seen or been in place beyond it’s time, you could see all the uss etc and the flatness of the mattress, some additional pillows would have been great as well
