Amazing place to relax deeply. Large rooms in wooden houses at a height in the forest provide pleasant temperatures. Lovely stuff
High up in the mountain, with a magnificent view of the sea all the way over to nearby islands. The sound of birds singing in the morning and during the day, and crickets at night. This place is just so relaxing. I feel so peaceful when I am here. The owner and staff are great, so friendly and helpful. I could literally live here. Papaya growing outside. We can buy fresh chicken eggs from the chickens right outside our door. If you like this kind of peace and quiet and to be connected with nature, then this place is paradise for you.
I have nothing to complain about. I loved everything.
The location is very special - up in the hills. You get a full cottage to yourself with a huge balcony. The view is just incredible - hills and sea. Before arriving at Hillside Village we spent 6 days at an other location on the beach. We decided to extend our stay in Siquijor and change atmosphere. Hillside Village got a different vide - you feel much more connected to the island. Don’t miss the breakfast- it’s delicious. Everyday you’ve got a surprise. So far it was the best breakfast I had in Siquijor. I loved the place and the spirit around it. You feel home away from home.
Nothing!
No wifi, no working shower, no bathroom towel, although shower did not work so it would have been of no use. After arrival Micheal tried for 30 mins to get password for wifi unsuccessfully. I the went to my room which was bare and tardy and full of mosquitos. No towel in bathroom and then shower did nt work. I needed wifi to contact Cebu Pacific who emailed me to change flights to Surigao because of forecast Typhoon. I immediately left room and drove to Siquijor Port to Cafe with wifi and booked another hotel for the nite. Very disappointed with this location.
The location is stunning and the two men on site are kind and helpful
Nothing
The owner was really rude to me, even though I stayed there for 2 months, she could've been nicer to me, at least don't call your guest "stupid". I was not offered to change my bad sheets even after a month of staying, so I had to do the laundry myself in the city or pay them 250 pesos for it. The electricity goes off all the time and when it's back the staff always forgot to switch it on for my room. I had to work so it was important for me to be online, but they didn't really care. Wifi was too far from my room, so i had to work standing in the kitchen. Again, I asked the staff, but they didn't care. When my friends came to visit me, the staff told me to meet them outside and clearly they were angry about it, even though we were always quiet. They are strict about when you need to be back, no later than 8pm! Which is crazy early for me. The place is far from the city, so you always need to ride a motorbike. I can write a lot more, but trust me, you don't want to read it all
The views were lovely to wake up to every morning. The host was so friendly and welcoming. She is an animal lover which we are too.
Only fault was no aircon but we were fine with that for the 3 days we stayed there as we did have a fan so coped!
Amazing views. Very large property with a decent cooking facility
The power outages were regular, which isn’t the fault of the owner but the use of generator could have been more regular than 11pm-8am to combat this. There were no battery powered appliances or anything so we ended up in two nights with no lighting whatsoever. Perhaps a battery powered fan or light could be useful in the future as it was very hot at night and we had no lighting. A bike is also necessary if you’re staying here
Spacious apartment, seperate bedroom, livingroom, fully equipped kitchen, huge terrace with great view. We loved the location on the hillside. We loved the view and privacy. Hot water, wifi, free drinking water, parking on the side. It was really quiet at night. We wanted to extend our stay, but unfortunately, they were fully booked.
Outside area could be more organised and cleaned. The shower curtain should be changed. We liked the location but this might be an issue for some people, it is 30min drive from the nice beach, 20 min drive to the town, so you need a motorbike.
Privacy and absolutely STUNNING views. Good value for money.
Up a very steep hill. Had to get out our tricycle and do two trips as our driver feared we wouldn’t make it! The room is also access via a steep slope.
Spacious, beautiful view at the sea, cleanliness,
None
Awesome view of the sea and land below right off the huge balcony, which has a sun bed, table/chairs, this is the highlight of this place! Couldn’t believe how spacious the apartment was, even bigger than the pictures. Plenty of furniture and cupboard space. I feel like this is the best value for money place I have ever stayed at!
Some ants but mainly outside on the balcony which is to be expected when living in the mountains/jungle. 30 minute drive from the main area San Juan which has most of the restaurants/bars so reccomend getting a scooter but for me the view and peace of the mountains was 100% worth it and the drive up/down is pretty cool.
In this hotel i like the nature , silence and of course the view 👍 if you want to spend your time with yourself , girlfriend or with your family it is great place to chill👍 but you have to cook yourself because there are no place to eat around . Lack of ac was not a problem during my stay . I think it is about the architecture and weather in the mountain.
i like to drink and it is far away from the bars for me , even with motorbike and cab . This is the only con for me . For others , bugs may be a problem . I think it is normal because you are in the middle of the forest and I can say that I found fewer bugs than i expected. And mosquitoes are quite few also.
Great place with amazing facilities. Hidden out of town so very peaceful. Charlie is a great house and extremely helpful.
Everything
The apartment was beautiful with an amazing view, we were knocked out by the place. We will definitely return. Thank you to the team 😄
Nothing
Nice And roomy..the views were stunning.the staff were friendly And accommodating..😊
What a view! We did not want to leave! Yoshimi gave us excellent communication and helpful advice to catch a car ferry here from Dumaguete. The beautiful apartment is tastefully furnished and very spacious. Everything worked great in the kitchen and bathroom. The WiFi was good and we were very comfortable. It's so peaceful and quiet here and spent much of our time on the huge balcony enjoying the view and refreshing breeze. San Juan is just a short drive away with many good restaurants to choose from. Nice beaches are just a short drive also. Everything was just PERFECT and we cannot wait to return again. Thank you so much Yoshimi for such a wonderful stay.
Comfortable 1 bd flat. Lots of space, nice wooden floors and furniture.
It's really on the hill. Nothing near and only if you have a vehicle !
