This villa was beautifully thought out down to the smallest detail, elegant and comfortable. Delicious breakfasts, magnificent garden, wonderful pool. And what really made the trip was the host: intelligent, warm, and always attentive, ready to help with anything at a moment's notice. Jim, thank you very much for everything. Between the stunning villa and such thoughtful hospitality, this was one of the best stays we've had. Highly recommend without hesitation — 10/10!

Nous avons adoré notre séjour à Villa Albizia. L’hôtel est magnifique, très calme et parfaitement entretenu, avec une atmosphère paisible idéale pour se détendre. Les chambres sont spacieuses, impeccablement propres et décorées avec beaucoup de goût. Les nuits sont calmes, il n’y a aucun bruit. Jim est d’une gentillesse exceptionnelle et toujours prêt à aider ou recommander des endroits. Le petit-déjeuner est bon et préparé avec des produits frais. La piscine est un vrai plus après une journée de visite autour de Chiang Mai. Nous nous sommes sentis comme à la maison et nous reviendrons sans hésiter lors d’un prochain séjour. We had the pleasure of staying at Villa Albizia, and it was truly an exceptional experience. The villa itself is beautifully designed, combining elegance with comfort, and surrounded by a serene atmosphere that immediately makes you feel at home. Every detail, from the tasteful interior to the lush outdoor spaces, reflects care and thoughtfulness. What made the stay even more special was the warm hospitality of Jim, the host. He welcomed us with genuine kindness, was always attentive, and ensured that everything we needed was taken care of. His local knowledge and helpful recommendations added great value to our time there, making the experience not only relaxing but also enriching. Villa Albizia is more than just a place to stay – it is a retreat where you can recharge, feel inspired, and enjoy the beauty of the surroundings. We are deeply grateful for the wonderful days spent there and can wholeheartedly recommend both the villa and Jim as a host.

If you book the Villa Albizia at Doi Saket, you will receive much more than just luxurious accommodation. You will experience hospitality on a different level. It'll feel like adding at 6th star to a 5-star mountain resort paradise. The breakfast, for example, is out of this world because it'll be prepared according to your personal taste and preferences. Absolutely delicious! Or the sticky rice with mango you can have lying on your sunchair by the side of the pool. The whole place feels like a Garden of Eden. It is ideal for nature lovers, sunset fans, bird watchers and anyone else who can appreciate all the love, good taste and diligent care that created a unique environment like that. The rooms are spacious and elegant. You will sleep like a baby and eat like a king. If you want to whizz around on a bike or a scooter, you can. Jim, the owner and manager, will see to it that you are completely happy and satisfied. Villa Albizia is likely to be the most beautiful place you have ever booked.

We really didn't like the fact that we had to check out after only two nights!

Beautiful property set amongst rice patties just 30 minutes outside central Chiang Mai. The gardens are beautiful and the room very spacious and comfortable.

Phenomenal stay - the genuine highlight of our 1 month in Thailand. And one of the best, in many years travelling. Villa is spot on, gorgeous, characterful, a little paradise. Perfectly presented. Owner Jim is exceptional, and could not have done more. In making our stay absolutely perfect.

My mother and I had a wonderful stay. The house and location in the rice fields is beautiful - the garden is exceptionally well taken care of and so are the rooms. Attention to detail everywhere. Jim was a wonderful host and helped us organize a scooter, prepared a fantastic breakfast every day and was just overall kind and attentive to all our needs! Thank you for having us.

Absolutely wonderful stay We had an amazing stay here. Everything was beautiful from start to finish. The accommodation itself is stunning – very well designed, extremely clean, and with super comfortable beds. One of the highlights was the gorgeous garden. It’s incredibly well maintained, full of lovely details, and you can enjoy a wonderful view of it directly from the room – very peaceful and relaxing. The pool was also fantastic – clean, beautiful, and perfect for relaxing. The breakfast was outstanding, fresh and delicious, and a perfect start to the day.But what really made the stay special was the host Jim. He is unbelievably friendly, warm, and attentive, helped organize a scooter for us, and gave us amazing recommendations for restaurants and activities in the area. Wat hebben wij genoten van de serene omgeving, de villa en zijn interieur, de fantastische tuin, het fijne zwembad, het exquise ontbijt, de heerlijke achtergrondmuziek, het mooie uitzicht over de rijstvelden, de zonsondergangen, de fietsen waarmee we de prachtige natuur en dorpjes ontdekten, en alle verwennerijen van Jim en zijn kleine team. Een heel groot dank je wel Jim voor je uitzonderlijke gastvrijheid en vriendelijkheid!

Words cannot describe the innate beauty of Villa Albizia. Nestled between rice fields and hills, it’s the perfect oasis. We spent four wonderful nights at Jim’s place. And whilst we wanted to explore the neighbouring area and Chiang Mai (and we did) we found ourselves drawn to staying at the Villa. The garden is beautiful and perfectly tended. The pool is gorgeous, the perfect temperature and as there are only 4 rooms, always quiet. The house itself; designed with utmost taste by Jim, is comforting, clean and incredibly chic. The features and details of the breakfast, cooked freshly every morning by Jim, were perfect. Amazing coffee. The view of the sunset from the upstairs is mesmerising. The rooms are perfectly equipped, spacious, clean and full of amenities that are replenished. The shower pressure is fantastic, and the bed is extremely comfortable. We didn’t sleep better in our whole three weeks in Thailand. Jim has bikes on the property that we made use of during our time to explore the local area (lots of wonderful cafes and restaurants and 711 close by) which was very generous. He also helps with all other transport needs, including airport pick up, helping you hire a moped, etc. Immensely generous in dropping us off to Chiang Mai (30 mins by car) when he was himself going to the city. The best thing about Villa Albizia is undoubtably Jim himself. He is not like many people we have met in this industry. He is kind, generous, attentive, full of wonderful and insightful information, and strikes the perfect balance between being a fantastic host and knowing when to take a step back. The best thing about Jim though, is his sense of humour, which is why me and my partner would find ourselves wanting to spend time with him in his beautiful home! He has two lovely and very friendly dogs, which just add charm to his space. What Jim has created and curated at Villa Albizia is unlike anything we have experienced, and my partner and I have travelled extensively.

Jim is a remarkable host who ensured our needs were met throughout our stay with him. The house and gardens are incredible spaces. So much consideration has been given to their design — everything works so well that it is possible to gain an inner peace here that is normally so hard to find. It's in a beautiful location, with much to see and do in the local area. Only a twenty minute drive from Chiang Mai yet the tranquility makes the busy world feel a million miles away...

Ja, kan niks bedenken wat er niet beviel! Wat een heerlijke plek, mooie omgeving en wat een gastheer Jim! Alles tip top geregeld zo fantastisch! Mooie kamers, prachtige tuin! Hulp bij tips wat te doen in de omgeving en zelfs toen bleek dat de scooterverhuur geen scooter meer had, werd het toch geregeld! Het ontbijt, zo met zorg afgestemd. Helemaal top! Mooi zwembad. Villa is tot in de puntjes onderhouden! Je kijkt uit over de rijstvelden!

Niets! tip: laat Jim optijd weten als je daar een scooter wil huren.

The beautiful surroundings in the middle of rice fields. The sound of the frogs at night, birds when the sun is out. And the buzz of Chiang Mai only a drive away. The room itself: spacious, well decorated, great shower and a big comfy bed. The healthy and tasty breakfast. And most of all: the host Jim himself: the personal and warm touch he gave to our stay: helpful, knowledgeable about Thai culture, people and the surroundings of the accommodation and an eye for detail.

Séjour absolument parfait ! Jim est un hôte exceptionnel, d’une gentillesse et d’un accueil rares. Toujours aux petits soins, il partage avec passion d’excellents conseils et de très bonnes adresses qui rendent le séjour encore plus agréable. Le petit-déjeuner est tout simplement extraordinaire, un vrai moment de plaisir. La chambre est parfaite, confortable et impeccablement propre. La piscine est très grande et le jardin est magnifique, très bien entretenu, un véritable havre de paix. Une expérience inoubliable, nous recommandons cet hébergement les yeux fermés. Einfach ein Traum

Vi älskade allt med boendet! Jim är en otroligt varm och hjälpsam värd som verkligen vill göra det lilla extra för sina gäster, och huset är fantastiskt! Stor grönskande trädgård, härlig pool, superfina rum med exklusiva material. Läget är bra för dig som vill uppleva det lugnare ”landsbygdslivet” i norra Thailand, men med Chiang Mai inom räckhåll. Finns många lokala restauranger i närheten där vi fick mycket god mat. Jim hjälpte oss med skjuts, mopedhyra, med mera - servicen och det fina boendet gjorde det väl värt priset. Rekommenderar starkt att hyra moto/moped (Jim visade oss den lokala uthyraren) för att kunna njuta av närområdet ordentligt. Vi var här i två nätter men hade gärna haft en dag till.

三組限定の、とても静かで素敵な宿でした。本当に評判通りです。ホストのジムさんは親切であたたかく、２匹の犬にもとても癒されました。🐕🐕❤︎ 敷地内には手入れの行き届いた花や木が沢山ありどこを見ても美しい庭です。 到着してすぐ評判のプールでくつろぎましたが、そこから見える景色が本当に素晴らしかったです。 水面に反射する光、鳥の声、そして目の前に広がる緑の庭。こんなにくつろげる場所は初めてでした。 🇯🇵英語が得意ではない私たちに対しても、ジムさんは工夫をしながら丁寧にコミュニケーションを取ってくださいました。 宿があまりにも心地よくて外に出たくなくなってしまい、夕食を宿で食べたいという我が儘もジムさんがわざわざレストランまで料理を受け取りに行ってくださり、綺麗に盛り付けまでしてくれました。 宿の美しさだけでなく、細やかな気遣いと温かさがとても印象に残る滞在でした。 次のチェンマイ旅行もここに来たいです。

Beautiful garden, attentive and kind service, super clean living areas and rooms, location is quiet but plenty to of great food options and excursions nearby.

This villa is truly a paradise for my husband and me. We stayed for two nights and cherished every single minute. It is an exquisitely designed home — not just a place to stay, but a real home filled with style, taste, and thoughtful details. Surrounded by nature, the setting is simply breathtaking. The garden is brilliant, with trees, flowers, birds, and life all around you. It genuinely feels as if you are living in a small paradise, completely peaceful and harmonious. You can immediately sense that the owner has an exceptional lifestyle and refined taste, and more importantly, that he generously shares this with his guests. Jim has a true heart for hospitality. He genuinely wants his guests to have the best possible experience and goes above and beyond — helping us find a motorbike, arranging drivers when possible, and always being attentive without ever being intrusive. We also had some truly interesting and meaningful conversations with him. He is incredibly elegant, thoughtful, and inspiring. His personal style and way of living are reflected in every corner of the villa. The breakfast deserves a special mention — it was absolutely wonderful. Fresh, top-quality, and prepared with so much care. As Jim says, he only shares with guests what he truly enjoys himself. From the homemade jams and butter to the fresh fruit, everything was exceptional. I have traveled extensively around the world, and honestly, this was one of the best breakfasts I’ve ever had — perfectly aligned with my taste and lifestyle. Adding to the magic, he has two lovely dogs who make the place feel even more like home. This is the kind of place where you could stay for days, even weeks — and still not want to leave. Unglaublich schöner Garten, herrlicher Pool, geräumige, blitzsaubere Zimmer, Erlebnisdusche mit sehr hohem Wasserdruck, bequeme Betten und Jim der perfekte Gastgeber. Für uns war es wie im Paradis.

Umgeben von Reisfeldern und Obstplantagen liegt dieses kleine Idyll mit paradiesischem Garten und traumhaftem Pool abseits des Rummels. Jim, der Gastgeber begrüßte uns mit frischen Früchten und selbstgemachten Getränken! In seiner wunderschönen Villa schafft er eine angenehme und entspannende Atmosphäre. Jim ist sehr professionell, unaufdringlich und dennoch außerordentlich hilfsbereit und gab uns täglich Tipps für Unternehmungen und Restaurants (Pi Rat und Sorn‘s sind unsere Favoriten)! Weiters waren die Fahrräder, die von der Unterkunft gratis zur Verfügung gestellt werden sehr hilfreich, um die Gegend zu erkunden. Wir durften hier das beste Frühstück und die schönste Unterkunft mit einem sehr familiären Flair genießen. Uns fehlt glatt die Worte. Es gibt nur drei Zimmer. Es war der perfekte Einstieg für unsere Thailand-Reise. Danke an das gesamte Team (den Gärter, die Maid, den Besitzer Jim & die Hunde Matoom und Lilly)!

Villa Albizia is a serene B&B outside the hustle and bustle of Chiang Mai. Set in a magnificent fruit garden, the rooms are large, comfortable and have everything you need to feel at home. The host, Jim, is fabulous and makes you feel like family. He gave us great recommendations for restaurants, shopping, wellness and nature sites in the areas as well as helped us rent a motorbike for the week. He also took great care to ensure we had dinner plans and offered to drive us to a local restaurant if needed. He is also so great to talk to and an amazing cook. Breakfast was delicious and included his homemade yogurt and jam. We absolutely loved our stay and didn’t want to leave. We hope to come back in the future!

Everything was amazing.

This is by far the best stay we had through booking this year. I was wondering how a bed & breakfast can have such a high rating and now I understand. This place is absolute luxury if you’re looking for peace, Thai perfect hospitality and a real human experience. Jim is a real master host, looking after his guests with such care. He always had good tips and advices for any activities/plans we had, and knows the area very well to recommend about anything one might need ! We booked our scooter through him to a local vendor and it was very cheap and efficient. He took my husband by car to the shop which was very convenient. We also easily used Grab to go to the city or few places a bit further than the neighbourhood, we had no issues booking cars. Breakfast is superb, a lot of homemade products. We also had a lots of snacks and even tried some flowers from the garden with Jim ! Our four years old was blown away by the stay and loved every part of the house. We were there on Christmas Eve and even got surprised with a delicious « bûche de Noel » in the evening ! The property is beautiful, with a huge garden to explore, a peaceful large pool. The whole place is in my opinion at a hotel level in term of amenities (pool towels, daily cleaning, mini fridge, etc…). It’s a very high standing 3 rooms b&b, if you’re into the luxury of privacy and serenity. Jim offered many times to drive us to places, prepared a table for us one night we decided to get food delivered, etc… You will be in the hand of the best host in Northern Thailand ! I rarely see the point of giving a 10/10 but I can’t see any reason not to for this little paradise. We hope to be back as soon as we can !

It was just as perfect as a stay can be - my girlfriend and me would say it was the most beautiful and welcoming hotel we ever stayed in our lifes.🤗 Jim, the owner, is such a lovely person and makes you feel at home right from the start. He would drive you to the bus station, the motor bike rental, restaurants etc. and bring you snacks or drinks without being asked once ❤️ The 2 dogs are lovely and property out of a movie. We didn't want to leave, especially as the surrounding is so beautiful and full of warm people and "the real Thailand". If you ever get the chance to stay at Jim's house, don't hesitate! Ich kann mich den überschwänglichen Bewertungen voll und ganz anschliessen. Jim ist ein wunderbarer Gastgeber in einer aussergewöhnlichen Villa mit traumhaftem Garten: Aufmerksam und doch diskret, hilfsbereit und auf jedes Detail achtend, immer wieder für eine kleine Überraschung gut. Er lebt die Perfektion der thailändischen Gastfreundschaft. Die gratis zur Verfügung gestellten Fahrräder eignen sich bestens für das Erkunden der ruhigen, von Reisfeldern dominierten Umgebung. In unmittelbarer Nähe sind am Abend nur wenige Restaurants geöffnet (Sorn's ist eine gute Adresse); in Doi Saket, auf der anderen Seite des Highway 118, ist die Auswahl grösser (mit dem Fahrrad gut erreichbar).

De tuin is erg mooi. Er heerst veel rust en is een mooie uitvalsbasis om de omgeving te ontdekken. Het is erg schoon.

Wir hatten einen wunderbaren Aufenthalt in der Villa Albizia. Jim ist ein toller Gastgeber und wir haben die Zeit mit ihm und seinen Hunden sehr genossen. Das Haus, der Garten und die Zimmer sind mit viel Liebe zu Detail gestaltet. Der perfekte Ort zum runterkommen. Die Lage ist etwas außerhalb von Chiang Mai (was für uns positiv war), das Stadtzentrum ist dennoch gut mit dem Roller oder Taxi erreichbar. Zu guter Letzt hat Jim uns noch aus der Patsche geholfen als wir ein Problem mit unserem Roller hatten.

Villa Albizia is a wonderful, calm space with a unique green nature scenery. The host Jim is simply unique, he treats every guest exceptionally welcoming and addressing every individual need. We felt like home, exploring and relaxing at the beautiful Villa Albizia, with a stunning view over rice fields and nature.

Jim der Gastgeber ist großartig. Er ist sehr aufmerksam und erklärt alles. Er hat uns sofort ein Motorroller und eine Sim Karte besorgt. Das Frühstück war fantastisch. Und wer einen ruhigen Aufenthalt zur Entspannung möchte, ist dort sehr gut aufgehoben. Die Sticky Waterfalls sind gut mit dem Roller zu erreichen. Es war wundervoll. Der Pool und der Garten sind sehr schön angelegt. Und die zwei Hunde sind toll. Immer gerne wieder.

Wenn man überhaupt irgendwas beanstanden kann, dann dass die Betten ein wenig hart sind. Aber das ist Geschmackssache.

We booked our stay at the villa because of the many positive reviews. We were 100% satisfied with our stay at this lovely guesthouse. The garden is absolutely beautiful and very well maintained – a perfect place to sit, relax or swim in the pool. The breakfast was delicious, fresh, and prepared with great care every morning. The service was outstanding. Our host was extremely attentive and kind, always making sure we had everything we needed. He even took us to the Lantern Festival and bought us a lantern himself. We truly felt welcomed and cared for throughout our stay. We can fully recommend this place to anyone looking for a peaceful atmosphere, excellent service, and genuine hospitality.

The villa was over looking a wonderfull garden, we awoke to birds singing every morning, a grea place to relax and recharge. Jim the host was wonderful going out of his way to look after us, breakfast each day was delicious, and Jim recommended several great local restaurants for us to visit. We cannot recommend this place more highly, a true tastes of Thai hospitality!!!

We stayed at Villa Albizia for 4 nights as a couple and absolutely loved it. The place is beautiful, peaceful, and surrounded by an amazing garden that feels like a little oasis. The pool area is fantastic — perfect for relaxing after exploring Chiang Mai. Jim, the host, was wonderful — very welcoming, helpful, and he makes a delicious homemade breakfast every morning. His two friendly dogs were such a lovely addition and made us feel right at home. The villa is located a bit outside of downtown Chiang Mai, which makes it quiet and relaxing. There’s a big new 7-Eleven nearby and a lovely lady in front of it who does excellent laundry. There are also great local food spots and beautiful landscapes in the area — Jim can give you all the best recommendations. We highly recommend renting a car to explore the surroundings easily. We’d definitely stay here again — highly recommended!

Wir sind dort angekommen und haben uns gleich sehr wohl gefühlt. Jim begrüßte uns warm und herzlich. Die Anlage ist ein Traum. Das Frühstück war das Beste was wir bisher hier in Thailand bekommen haben, mit selbstgemachten Marmelade, Jogurt und lecker Früchten. Jim brachte uns abends zu den Restaurants und holte uns auch wieder ab. Wir wären sehr gerne noch länger geblieben Und können diesr Villa nur empfehlen.

Villa Albizia is an amazing stay which I would highly recommend to anyone staying in Chiang Mai. It’s a beautifully designed villa in the middle of a beautiful garden surrounded by nature. Jim, your host at the villa, is a very thoughtful and helpful host. He gave us many tips for restaurants and things to do both in the area of the Villa and in Chiang Mai itself. Nothing was too much for him. One night he even drove us to a restaurant nearby and picked us up again! For those wondering about the location, it’s a 20-30min drive from Chiang Mai centre but it’s never an issue to get a grab to and from the Villa! If you’re reading this, highly recommended.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay with Jim! His charming little house is set right in the middle of nature, with only three rooms, which makes it feel very personal and peaceful. Jim is an amazing host – incredibly kind, caring, and genuinely dedicated to making his guests feel comfortable. Every morning he prepared a lovely breakfast with so much attention to detail: yogurt, muesli, homemade jam, fresh juice, and fruit – the perfect start to the day. Jim truly goes above and beyond for his guests. He gave us great local tips, answered all our questions, and since there were no other guests during our stay, he even offered to drive us to a nearby restaurant one evening – such a thoughtful gesture! The location is a bit remote, so there aren’t too many restaurants or shops around, but that’s part of its charm – you’re surrounded by beautiful, peaceful nature. Another highlight was Jim’s two wonderful, well-behaved dogs. As an animal lover, I absolutely loved having them around – they made the stay feel even more homely and warm. All in all, we felt so comfortable and welcome with Jim and his lovely dogs. Highly recommended – a true hidden gem in nature! 🐾💚

Outstanding Lanna-style villa in Doi Saket! Comfortable room, great breakfast, extensive and well looked after gardens, plus an excellent and very well maintained pool 😁 Extremely hospitable host, who went out of his way to ensure that we were comfortable, and informed about local sites, venues, and restaurants!

Wow, I'm not sure where to start.. An experience way beyond booking into a simple hotel or homestay. This property is a rare 10/10 on booking.com for very good reason. Jim is the best host you could possibly imagine. He doesn't just go the extra mile to help make your stay comfortable and special, he goes the extra 1000 miles and more. Staying with Jim and the lovely dogs Lily and Matoom was more like discovering long lost family than a simple stay in a beautiful house. Now, the property... an absolutely stunning house and beautiful large guest rooms with views of the "garden".. (calling it a garden is an injustice, they are "grounds", expansive and lovingly maintained down to the last detail). Large windows surrounding the room meant waking up as though you were in nature, but in the most comfortable bed I think I've ever slept in. I sat on the balcony and sipped the copious amounts of fresh coffee that Jim provided, before eating fresh fruit from the trees in the garden, and wonderful cooked breakfasts to follow. You don't really need to leave the property... take a swim in the beautiful infinity pool, surrounded by trees and flowers, sun loungers, and views of the rolling countryside and forest hills in the background. Or sit on the veranda or main balcony and enjoy the views whilst reading and relaxing. If you do feel like venturing out however, Jim assists with providing a hire motorcycle from a local shop, and it's a beautiful experience to be riding through the countryside and rice fields in the sunshine. You can stop at the nearby reservoir and admire the views over lunch in some of the wonderful cafes, or ride up to a quiet temple with an excellent viewpoint, a cat, and lots of buddhists being tranquil. I can't praise this property, location, and most of all the host enough. This is the reason why a 10/10 score on booking.com exists.

Exceptionnal place , green lushery, perfect location to chill. Tim is a super host always there to help you enjoying the moment. The breakfast is high level!

There is probably not enough time i could spend describing how lovely the property and owner was. Jim was the perfect host and guide to the local area. Nothing was too much trouble for him and if he had the time he was more than happy to take us around the local area. The breakfast he serves will certainly set you up for day with no need to eat till later in the day, with a wide selection of fresh fruits including ones from his own garden...best Mangos we have ever tasted. We couldn't thank Jim (and of course Lily and Matoom) enough for their warm welcome and stay.

Not really anything bad to say about the property or service. The location was rural and quiet, with just a 30min taxi ride from the main city to keep us entertained. With a lovely lady 10mins down the road to rent a bike from, you can explore the countryside at your leisure!

Never have I seen a perfect 10 with so many reviews on Booking.com, so it was with great expectations and anticipation that we arrived at Villa Albizia. After two magical days at the property, we were sad to leave but cannot wait to return. Jim, the owner of this amazing place, provided the most amazing sanctuary that I have ever seen in all my travels. The villa itself is breathtaking, filled with many tasteful and thoughtful touches and surrounded with lush flora and fauna. Two boisterous and incredibly sweet dogs, Matoom and Lily, kept us company the whole time - much to our delight. The highlight of the day was undoubtedly the wonderful homemade breakfast that Jim prepares with much care and love, and we also very much looked forward to our conversations with such a knowledgeable and kind host.

With his extraordinary sense of aesthetics, he has created a magnificent, blooming garden that can be fully enjoyed from the veranda and the pool. The interior of the villa is also designed with great care and a harmonious blend of traditional and high-quality materials. Our beautiful room, with a large window front and a view of the garden, as well as the perfectly thought-out bathroom with a separate shower and toilet, even surpass the standard of a five-star hotel. Anyone lucky enough to get a stay in this paradise – the villa has only three guest rooms! – can look forward to first-class, personalized service. Jim is mindfulness personified and fills the villa with soul. He takes plenty of time for his guests and enriched us with fascinating insights into Thai culture, as well as valuable tips about the surroundings of Chiang Mai. Every morning, he lovingly prepared the best breakfast, and in the evening, he even drove us to the restaurant. Thank you for everything, Jim!

A lush tropical haven filled with ponds, greenery, and vibrant flowers. I could have spent hours just sitting and taking in the beauty. The pool was great—perfect for cooling off and relaxing. And then there’s Jim, the owner—where do I even start? He was incredibly attentive, respectful, and thoughtful, ensuring our stay was beyond perfect. His attention to detail was truly admirable. He lent us bikes, gave us fantastic local recommendations, and even surprised us with a delicious afternoon snack tray when we decided to stay in. The breakfast was, without a doubt, the best we had in Thailand. From homemade yogurt to dried fruits from the garden and homemade jams, everything was fresh and delicious. Jim also took special care to accommodate our dietary preferences. And we can’t forget Matoom and Lilly, the two adorable and friendly dogs! This is honestly the best accommodation we have ever stayed in, anywhere in the world. The house has been beautifully designed & built with love. It shows in every detail, from the gorgeous polished wood floors to the elegant furniture, to the art & decor. Our spacious room had wide doors opening out onto a private veranda overlooking the lush garden and carp filled pond - so peaceful. The bed was extremely comfortable with sumptuous bed linen & all of the furniture befitting of a colonial house, some of it custom built. The bathroom is also very spacious and well designed, with a large bathtub & a great shower. Sparkling white towels & lovely toiletries all add to the feeling of luxury. The attention to detail is outstanding. The house itself is utterly gorgeous, Jim (the owner) gives you free access to the upstairs room & library with a veranda overlooking the paddy fields & hills in the distance - perfect for watching the sunset while perusing a book on art or Lanna history. The garden is filled with lush planting & fabulous flowers. The pool is in a tucked away spot, again overlooking the countryside & is immaculate. It also has comfortable, elegant furniture, sunloungers & tables. Jim even surprised us with a little refreshing drink & snack, poolside. The location is great, a peaceful spot with lots of places to visit in the area. You can walk or cycle around the picturesque paddy fields to small villages & temples. There is a surprising choice of restaurants & cafes within 5-15 minutes drive away, also very accessible by bicycles. Then, to what makes the stay even more perfect, is Jim himself. He is the most gracious, kind & attentive host, who does everything to make your stay so special. He can give you ideas about what to do & see in the vicinity & beyond & provides the cycles to go & explore.

But being there, everything in and round the house is even more elegant and cosy than we expected. Host Jim is a one of a kind in his role. Everything ! The villa and its design, comfortable and spacious room with terrace and gorgeous view of the beautiful garden. The sounds of nature when you leave the balcony doors opened ( and you don’t need to worry about mosquitos as there are mosquitoes nets in the windows). Swimming pool nestled in lush greenery… Very good breakfast served on the charming terrace. Jim is a fantastic host always helpful and ready to offer tips on what to see, where to eat, and how to arrange transport and tours. We took private one day tour around Ching Mai. We spent wonderful 4 days in the villa. We didn’t want to leave and hoped to extend our stay by unfortunately all the rooms were already booked. If you look for peaceful location, perfect for visiting Chiang Mai region - this is the place!

I don’t know where to begin on this review. There is so much positive that I would love to express. From the moment we checked in, we were family. Jim is a master at this craft. He took his time to welcome us with a local drink and fresh fruit. He showed us the property and all the places that we could soak in our own peace and quiet. His lovely guest ambassadors (dogs) showed us as much love. The room is spacious with several sitting options. Our room had a back patio that we could relax and admire his pond. There are several water features on his property as well. The absolute high light of our stay was the breakfast. If you leave hungry or unsatisfied, you’re not human. Jim’s philosophy is that he will not serve what he hasn’t tried or made himself. The coffee is local. The meats are local. The yogurt is homemade along with the Jams. I am sure there was more but I can’t remember them all. We drank so much coffee; I just couldn’t help myself. I truly didn’t want it to end. The internet is great. We decided to stop going to a retreat and instead watching it on Zoom. There was no hiccup with the internet. Another side note. While participating in the Zoom, Jim made us a mid-day snack to hold us over. That blew me away. Like I said, I don’t know where to begin. Thank you, Jim, for all of your attention to detail, your funny wit, your delicious food and quality linens. If we are in the neighborhood we are staying with you.

Wow, I don’t even know where to start – this place was simply incredible! Everything was peaceful and spotlessly clean. Jim, the owner, is very friendly and helpful. He gave us excellent tips for exploring the area. One must-visit nearby is the Sticky Waterfall – perfect for a relaxing and fun experience. The room was clean, and had a luxurious feel. The breakfast was amazing, and Jim made sure we didn’t miss out on anything. As a bonus, he has two incredibly sweet dogs that make the stay even more enjoyable. In short, highly recommended!

This accommodation is absolutely outstanding and truly unique. Just a 25 min drive from Chiang Mai, Villa Albizia is located on a large, idyllic property with a stunning garden – a true paradise. We’ve been traveling to Thailand for years, and without a doubt, Jim is the most friendly and attentive host we’ve ever met. He speaks excellent English, organizes airport transfers, scooters, gives fantastic restaurant recommendations, and is always eager to help with any request. Time and again, he surprised us with refreshing drinks and delicious desserts. The breakfast is exceptional: everything is organic, with many ingredients coming straight from the garden. Fresh fruits, homemade yogurt, muesli, omelets, crispy bacon, bread, and homemade jam – all perfectly prepared. Even at the pool, the Wi-Fi was stable and fast. The spacious premises offer plenty of privacy, making it perfect for relaxing or working – especially for digital nomads. The rooms are extremely comfortable, with intact mosquito nets, a fan, air conditioning, and a private balcony with cozy chairs, ideal for unwinding and enjoying the view of nature. What made our stay truly special were the conversations we had with Jim. His warmth, insights, and genuine interest in his guests are something you rarely experience in a regular accommodation. After a four-week vacation in Thailand, we look back with the greatest joy on our stay at Villa Albizia, located near Chiang Mai. This place truly surpasses all superlatives—it’s a genuine paradise. Everything was perfect down to the finest details: beautifully and tastefully decorated rooms with attention to every detail, a delicious and well-prepared breakfast, and above all, a stunning, lush garden where you can completely relax and unwind. An added bonus is that the villa has only three rooms, ensuring a quiet and intimate atmosphere. For a while, we were even the only guests there! The host, Jim, is truly one in a million—a person with a heart of gold. He picked us up at the airport, drove us to nearby restaurants in the evening with his own car, and even came to pick us up afterward. Jim genuinely does everything to make his guests feel at home, always with a warm smile. Rarely have we encountered such a friendly host. Jim speaks perfect French and English and also organizes all your excursions and transportation. Together with Jim and two other couples, we enjoyed an unforgettable evening during the Loy Krathong Lantern Festival. Jim had prepared lanterns for all the guests to release into the sky, and afterward, we had a delightful gathering in Jim’s garden. It was truly a night to remember forever. The villa is situated in the countryside, making it an ideal starting point for scenic bike rides through the rice fields, with complimentary bicycles provided by the villa. Although Chiang Mai is about 20 km away, we reached the city center in just 20 minutes by taxi for a small fare. Both the villa and Jim have captured our hearts. If there’s one place in Thailand that we would return to, it’s definitely here!

That we had to leave this place

We had a wonderful time at Villa Albizia. The accommodation is just outside of Chiang Mai and after spending some time in the city we wanted to enjoy nature. With Grab, it was super easy and quite affordable to get there. The villa is super beautiful with a big and clean room, a nice swimming pool and a beautiful garden, it was definitely the best accommodation during our Thailand trip. You can watch birds and there are all sorts of butterflies and plants. It's really good to calm down. Plus, there are two incredibly friendly dogs around :) . The owner is an amazing host, who makes you feel very welcome. The breakfast is very good and for Lunch/Dinner we just walked/cycled to the village which wasn't a problem at all for us. We where able to rent the bikes for free. Of course, there aren't as many restaurants around as in the city, but that's exactly what we expected when we made the booking. The owner also kindly offered us to drive us to a restaurant/pick us up. So, if you want to spend a few peaceful days in nature, I can only recommend staying at this place..

Everything is oerfect

We spent six nights at Villa Albizia after staying directly in Chiang Mai, and it was the perfect way to end our time in Northern Thailand. The villa is about 30 minutes from the city, so trips into town are possible (transport can be arranged). However, we preferred relaxing in the villa and its peaceful surroundings. The rooms are spacious, beautifully designed, and thoughtfully equipped. A highlight for us was lounging by the stunning pool in the lush garden. The nearby village has charming cafés and a few restaurants for dinner. Renting a scooter (which Jim can arrange) is a great way to explore, though Jim often offers to drive guests if he has time. Jim is an outstanding host—friendly, attentive, and highly communicative. From personalized breakfasts to little afternoon treats by the pool, his thoughtful touches made our stay truly special. Villa Albizia is highly recommended for anyone looking to unwind near Chiang Mai.

We thought we had already seen some really beautiful resorts on our trip through Cambodia and Thailand. But Jim's "Villa Albizia" exceeded any expectations you might have as a guest! Close your eyes and imagine paradise. A huge garden with small paths, countless corners and plants to discover, a pond, a beautiful pool surrounded by blooming flowers and a magnificent view of rice fields and the hills in the distance. A large, extremely tastefully furnished house with invitingly wide open doors and quiet piano music. It smells lightly and pleasantly of flowers. Jim is the best host you could imagine. He takes care of every detail, conjures up a great breakfast, surprised us with a little refreshment from time to time and does everything he does with passion. When we were his guests during the Loy Krathong festival, he even provided krathongs and sky lanterns for all the guests, took us to the Doi Saket Lakes and we were able to celebrate this festival with him. He made our stay very special and simply unforgettable! Yes, the villa is a little out of the way for exploring Chiang Mai. But it's worth every extra minute in the cab and if Jim is available, he will take you to the main road. From here, a songthaew (public bus) leaves every 10-15 minutes for 20 THB p.p. to the city. The only downside is that you don't really want to leave the idyllic grounds to explore the area because it's just too beautiful. And we didn't really get to read either, because we were constantly busy admiring and enjoying the beauty of the garden and the views, the at least 15 different species of butterfly and the many birds.

I like everything about the place. The villa is a private house and run by the owner, Jim. It has only 3 rooms and we’re the only guests when we’re there. It’s perfect if you’re looking for tranquility, privacy, and nature. The villa is rated 3 stars but the experience was 5 stars to me. The room overlooked a beautiful garden with a pond. It is thoughtfully decorated and practical too with many custom-made pieces of furniture. You can tell they only selected good quality items. The wooden furniture and decorations made the room cool enough without the need for the AC (they have it too though). Other facility were top notch too. We had the swimming pool to ourselves because there’s no other guests. The pool was surrounded by different types of plants and faced rice fields and mountains. I enjoyed being surrounded by nature in the garden and tasteful design of the villa. It might be quite far for someone who’s looking to mainly hangout in Chiangmai downtown but so worth it. Cannot recommend enough.

We loved the beautiful garden and the comfortable rooms with lots of attention to detail. The view from the room is stunning and the large swimming pool was a treat. If this was a name brand hotel you'd be paying triple the price for the same experience. Breakfast is substantial too, and the host is very attentive and friendly, and can provide great recommendations of nearby places to eat and visit. I would recommend coming with a car as it's a little too far to walk most places, but the host can also arrange some transport if needed. If you're looking for some peace and relaxation in a quiet natural spot in the Doi Saket area you can't do better. We can't wait to stay again.

In the past three decades, I've spent at least a third (and more recently half) of my time as a hotel guest. As a business traveller I get to tick places off my ever changing bucket list and constantly learn what I want as a personal traveller. Distinctive superior service is or at least should be given amongst the luxury brands just as rainfall shower heads and comfy pillows - after all I’m paying for this! But when personally travel it is the memorable moments and the experience, over the tangible product and opulent formality that I crave. At Villa Albizia I found it. This Lanna style villa is in the sleepy side of ChiangMai, and sat on the terrace surrounded by literally acres of gardens bursting to life with fragrant blooms flowering in the hot sunshine and my wife trying to spot birds and their songs from the comfort of our just enough of a recumbent chair to have a cool beer in hand, is the best place to learn to let your eyes explore and the body to rest. Our host, Jim, gave himself wholeheartedly to ensuring that we had an experience worth paying more for.

Villa is B&B. But with some thought Jim could facilitate food delivery service so we don’t have to go out for dinner and just stay and enjoy more of the wonderful villa.

Villa Albizia is a stunning and welcoming house. Jim, the owner and designer has impeccable 5 star taste in furniture and style with many custom designed pieces. This is Jim's home and has 3 beautiful rooms for guests. The house is plenty big enough for you to feel you very much have your own space and at the same time if you need anything Jim is around. Each room has a delightful balcony overlooking gardens, rice fields and mountain in the distance. The garden is like a botanic garden with orchids and many wonderful trees and plants. The swimming pool clean, relaxing and surrounded by plants. I can honestly say this is the best place i have ever stayed. From the first minute I felt at home and inspired by the creativity, art, and style of the property. Jim goes way beyond to ensure your safety and comfort. His breakfast is bespoke to your needs and simply delicious. The property is around a 20 minute taxi to Chiang Mai so ideal for anyone who wants a bit of space from the intensity of the city and yet still within easy access, and hungry for a taste of nature. There are places to eat locally and bikes you can borrow.

Villa Albizia is a beautiful, small place with 3 rooms for rent. It is run by a charming host who provides a delicious, healthy breakfast. This villa set amongst the rice paddies has stunning flowers and plants everywhere and a great pool. It's THE place to relax for a few days, although you will need a car or take taxis to go to eat out as breakfast is the only meal served. The rooms are elegantly appointed, with great care and attention paid to the small details. I really, really recommend this place for a place to relax and unwind. I'd definitely stay here again.
