The location was amazing!

Brenda & Dougall are warm and kind hosts, who travel a lot themselves. Bathroom is modern, wonderful, including the floor heat. Breakfast was assorted, nutritious, fresh and tasty. Wonderful views from the dining room. Great peaceful location, nice hikes nearby.

Our breakfasts were over the top delicious. Our hosts were the best we have ever had at an ABNB. Brenda and Doogz definitely enjoy having guests. The views from their home are amazing. And if you want to hike the trails are close by.

Brenda and Dougall are the perfect hosts. We arrived off of a 30 hour journey and immediately felt like we had come to stay with long lost friends!! The house was spotless and the bed super comfy, we had everything we needed. Wonderful and thoughtful breakfasts provided (with the most incredible view). Dougall and Brenda shared lots of local tips and amazing stories with us, and their two little dogs are the sweetest! Thank you both, we would love to return.

We had a wonderful stay, warmly welcomed by Brenda and Dougal, and greeted by their well-behaved dogs, Jess and Stormi. The room was comfortable, with lovely linen that contributed to a restful night. The bathroom was well appointed. The views were stunning and a delicious breakfast was served each morning. Brenda and Dougall were extremely welcoming. Our room was very comfortable and the bathroom is amazing. We'd never slept in such a quiet & peaceful place! And of course, the delicious breakfasts with stunning views were fantastic. And the 2 lovely little doggies were so sweet.

Staying with Brenda and Dougall was one of the highlights of our time in Christchurch. They are such warm, welcoming hosts—we had wonderful conversations, got fantastic recommendations, and truly felt at home. Their place is just a few minutes drive from the city center, yet surrounded by beautiful views and peaceful surroundings. The house itself is stylish, incredibly comfortable, and thoughtfully designed. The breakfast was absolutely delicious and it was such a great experience.

Sumptuous breakfast, friendly and knowledgeable hosts and great location with stunning views as a bonus. Even the neighbours were delightful and welcoming.

We enjoyed the welcome, talking with our hosts Brenda and Dougall, the stunning views from the place and the fantastic breakfast spread they put on for us. The Lighthouse’s facilities were second to none and it’s location afforded great opportunities to explore the surrounds.

It is not just the stunning views and the breakfast that speak for this accommodation. It is the hospitality of Brenda and Dougall. They welcome their guests into their beautifully furnished house (you will love the bathroom!) and do everything they can to make you feel at home.

Brenda and Dougall are wonderful hosts, fascinating people, and a joy to be with. One of Brenda's careers is teaching art - so we had the bounty of her artistic talent on the walls. The house is spotlessly clean, breakfast healthy and varied, and their view is sheer paradise.

Brenda and Dougall were the most gracious hosts! Their house had the most incredible views and the bedroom and bathroom were very comfortable. They served us a delicious breakfast each morning and had wonderful recommendations. Bonus that they welcomed us for our honeymoon vacation with a bottle of wine and chocolates. You will not go wrong staying at the Lighthouse. This place deserves a 10/10!!!

Brenda and Doogz were fabulous hosts. My area was immaculately clean (as was the rest of the home) It is an amazing location with stunning everchanging views.

Super view from the living room of the house on top of Mount Pleasant overlooking the sea. Host Gougall n Brenda are super friendly and attentive. Both attended to every detail, from aromatic bath gel, good spread breakfast tailored to guest taste buds, recommeding restaurants to our liking, to places of attractions. The house is renovated like an art gallery, with many nice paintings at the right place of every corner. Gougall, a strong man, also helped us with our 2 big and heavy luggage. The breakfast is almost comparable to Hilton Auckland (which we also had experience) only on a smaller scale. Highly recommended host and place to spend your holidays with.

Amazing house away from the busy town life The views and area sucha picture perfect Host was sucha beautiful lady and made us feel so welcome the house layout and decor felt so warm n inviting relaxed . Everything looks like the pictures but to experience it for real is even more amazing breakfast we got served was so top service to sit n lookout at sea and sun coming through the sky it was beautiful. Felt nice n relaxed staying there bedroom comfortable bedding is topnotch warm room decor sets it the bath was beautiful I left feeling like been on holiday and definitely want to come back and stay because of the house the service and the host such lovely people . Really feel like paradise being up.in the hill looking out to sea n town with clouds around it a experience.
