Fun and quirky property with plenty of space for us all to stay. Fantastic kitchen and outdoor pizza oven which we had a lot of fun with and to top it all a lovely host who couldn’t do more to make our stay special.

The house is full of creative art, just like walking into a private art gallery. Sonia is absolutely lovely that make us feel welcome and comfortable. We cannot recommend this place enough and will definitely be back!

We love everything

This property is one of the most creative, beautiful accommodations I have ever stayed at. The owner upgraded my room and I was given a whole area just to myself. The house has every single amenity that you can imagine. The owner really wants everyone to feel comfortable, she made us hot flat whites when we were there. I loved chatting with her and her whole vibe is absolutely positive.

This was one of the best stays I’ve had! Sonia was an incredible host and made me feel at home. Everything was so clean and comfortable, and I loved getting to use the pizza oven and sauna! I can’t wait to come back.

It was spacious, comfortable and very well equipped. It was even an option to take a dip on the stream. Everything had been thought of by the charming and attentive host, Sonia.

We liked the offer for a coffee made in the morning, the sunsets were gorgeous, the house had a very cool vibe with lots to look at, plenty of activities to do around the house, and a great base location to travel all across the district.

The host is very nice and makes her house beautiful and comfortable for her guests. The kitchen is large and equipped with plenty to make our breakfast. it was very clean for our room and shared bathroom.

Wish it could be located a little closer to the center of town.

This is more than a place to stay, it's a full experience. The garden and creek are lovely to wander, relax, and fully be present and enjoy. The quirky and creative house was also an invitation for me to be more curious and fun. On top of that, we had the opportunity to meet other guests, while also having space to have our own time as there are multiple spaces around the property. Ultimately, beds were comfy, kitchen well equipped, stunning sunsets, beautiful garden, I cannot rate it more. I recommend this place to anyone going to Wanaka. This was one of the highlights of our trip.

The host was super friendly and informative. We went to suggested bakery and omg the pastries were amazing. The place is super cute/quirky, clean, was able to do washing after a week of hiking which was so good. The bed was really comfy too. The kitchen is fully equipped if you feel like making breakfast/having a drink. Definitely would go back if in the area. Good value for money

The only thing that was a little gutted about was spa, as we saw it in the photos but wasn't actually listed as part of Amenities but it had sauna. However So

Everything! Sonia’s place had so much character and we felt right at home. It was nice to meet others in the shared space but we still had privacy. The artwork was beautiful and so was Sonia and her bubbly personality.

Dream location and perfect room/house!

We absolutely loved the artworks and how thoughtfully every corner of the house is made. Sonia really prepared everything with so much care, and we felt it.

Das war eine 10 mit Sternchen. Normalerweise werden drei Schlafzimmer vermietet und die riesengroße und geschmackvoll eingerichtete Wohneinheit mit Küche ist zur gemeinsamen Nutzung. In der ersten Nacht hatte ich jedoch das gesamte Haus für mich allein, und das für einen absoluten Schnäppchen-Preis, inklusive Zimmer-Upgrade. Das Haus ist sehr schön an einem kleinen Bach gelegen und es ist äußerst ruhig. Auch die Gastgeberin ist außerordentlich nett und ihr Vertrauen in ihre Kunden scheint grenzenlos. Vielen Dank auch für das kleine Frühstück als Zugabe.

Kiki the hostest was a fantastic exhancement to our holiday. If you are looking for someplace a little different with exceptionnel service then this is for you. We loved our hot tube down by the river, but really the beautiful warm welcome by kiki was enough to make our stay something special. The place is wonderful and the hostest manages to outshine it.

The only thing that we did not like was that we had to leave

I liked the art in the lounge and the spacious kitchen, the bathroom was really nice and the views are typical central Otago beautiful mountains and even some snow.

Thought I was getting breakfast inclusive, fortunately I had some food with me and managed to make my own.

Sonia was super nice and lovely, the house was perfect, and the design with everything were 10/10 !!!! It make me feel home, if I have time can stay more I would love to. I'll be back for sure, thank you :)

I cannot describe how wonderful my stay at the artist's house was. Everthing was just perfect. All the art in this house was amazing. The kitchen, the bathroom, the bedroom and livingroom were so well equipped, it could not be better. Sonia did a really great job to make us feel at home. And relaxing in the hot tub to watch the stars at the end of the day, was just wow!! This accomodation is pure art and i'll highly recommand!!

An amazing property. Interesting art pieces everywhere. Great spa pool, garden, outdoor areas and outdoor cooking. A special place. We only booked as we couldn’t get anything in Wānaka. More expensive than we would have chosen for a one night road trip stop, you really need to spend a few nights to get the benefit of all the wonderful facilities. Would be fabulous for a family get together.

At first we didn’t really want to stay here because of the communal facilities, wanting a more private experience, but after talking to Sonia the host we decided we should stay, such a great decision. We slept in the master bedroom which was amazing and had everything we need for our private experience. And the rest of the house was beautiful, clean, spacious and had such a homely feel. The house was so well equipped and looked after we didn’t feel anything was lacking. Also good location not far from the city but the quietness of a small town. Sonia was an amazing hostess, so welcoming and cheerful. We enjoyed it so much we even came back for a second time :)

This is one of the most thoughtully created properties immaginable. Every detail has been carefully considered. If I were to design a home / AirBnB property, this would be my model. The common areas, the grounds, the bedroom itself - all are beautiful and in perfect condition. What a freat experience, though all-too-brief in my case since I stayed only one night and had to leave before dawn.

The host made a lot of effort to ensure we enjoyed our stay and facilitated meeting other guests in the wonderful shared social spaces. Fun surprises with the interior decor style and garden.

The upstairs room was very hot but a lovely big space.

The amenities are invaluable: a hot tub, a grill, a large fridge, a spacious kitchen, and a pantry. It is very clean and spacious. A wonderful place to escape from the city.

The artist’s house is a very inspirational place to be. Never have we felt so honoured by a host. We stayed together with two other couples, given that this is a large house we felt a lot of privacy. Sharing stories around the fireplace gave even more depth to our stay. A sauna was recently added to the well furnished house. Breakfast could be arranged, a real treat. Nothing was too much for our host. Her presence created a positive atmosphere where everyone felt comfortable and welcome.

Nothing comes to mind, maybe only that we stayed not long enough to enjoy the artist’s house even more.

The location was fine for our stay and the facilities at the accommodation were great, it was also good for us that the accommodation was pet friendly. The house was lovely and warm, bedroom heater upstairs and the fire was going downstairs on our arrival and during our stay.

I really love the comfy and warm home as I arrived quite late at night. Sonia switched on the heater and it was warm when I arrived. It was so comfy and great!

Nothing that I have disliked.

The house and grounds are decorated by the host and each room/space is unique. The shared living room and kitchen are very well equipped for guests to prepare their own meals including an outdoor gas BBQ. Per recommendations by the host, I bought my groceries in town and prepared them at the house. The other guests were quite friendly and we had a lovely chat. The garden was just coming back from winter and in the summer is in full bloom with assorted herbs. There is a lovely little stream in the back of the property. I would stay there again if passing through.

Wouldn't change a thing. Only disappointed that I didn't meet the resident feline!

We liked the location (10mins from town), having full use of the house that was openly shared by Sonia the owner (who lives on another part of the property), and the welcoming feel Sonia provided during our whole stay.

There was nothing we didn't like.

Sonia prepared a very healthy and tasty breakfast for us both mornings we were there. Our last night we shared a spontaneous dance and pizza party with her family and the other couple guests. Best stay of our three week on South Island.

We loved the Artist's House in Wanaka. The host, Sonia, was absolutely amazing. Each room is fully private with a shared kitchen, living area, bathroom, and outdoor space. The best part is that the art in the house is all Sonia's! She was so welcoming, showing us around and how everything worked when we set up and she even came over the morning to make us a flat white! The room was very comfortable and well appointed. I only wish we could have stayed longer to explore the swimming hole in the river that runs behind her property or make pizza in her outdoor pizza oven (ingredients and instructions are provided).

We LOVED this place, we loved Sonia and we adored the accommodation. It was like a backpackers place for grown ups!! The hippy, laid back vibe but with every kitchen utensil you could want, a pizza oven (!), immensely comfortable beds and just sharing with one or two other rooms of people. We swam in the river, cooked pizza, and just chilled. Perfect.

This was a little home away from home, it was exceptional and Sonia is just lovely.

Unit was interestingly styled by the artist owner. Everywhere you looked there was a point of interest. Owner was passionate and engaging. Great location between Wanaka and Queenstown
