Room too hot, bed uncomfortable, towels never changed. Parking was a disgrace as they were renting out their spaces for the local golf event at Wentworth. Supposed to stay for 3 nights but checked out after 2 nights and they weren't surprised. Prepaid over £1K and won't ever be back!

Its location next to the Virginia Water Lake is just breathtaking! The hotel has been refurbished to high standards and the Super King size bed was very comfortable. The hotel staff were very helpful and professional.

As mentioned in other reviews the heat inside the room was unbearable. The fan provided is not adequate to reduce the temperature and, even with the windows wide open, it was quite uncomfortable. Although it’s a beautiful hotel the lack of a lift is a major drawback particularly for someone who has limited mobility.

The room and facilities were beautiful, spacious, very clean and perfect. You enabled a very comfortable, special day. The easy access to the beautiful country side and to Royal Holloway made it perfect. Being able to charge our car was exceptional.

The lady that waited on us and served us dinner was exceptionally friendly, and great with the children, the food was excellent and the room was lovely.

Bit tricky getting from car to room with suitcase via footpaths & quite steep staircases - although very helpful staff But it IS a beautiful old building & not a generic city hotel with lifts

This was our second visit and on both occasions the room was too hot. The first time was in May and this time was late August after the heatwave had ended.

There was no shelf for make up by bathroom mirror as glass shelf was missing.

No aircon in the rooms meant it was too hot through night and due to busy road it was not optimal to leave window open

They have refurbished the rooms to a high standard and great location right in the great park/virgina water

Unfortunately no aircon and it’s been extremely hot here in the uk for 3 months now and couldn’t open the windows. They did provide a desk fan

Very comfortable room and bed and the staff were attentive and friendly. We are in the restaurant at night and the Moules Frites were delicious. Parking at the hotel and a few minutes walk to the park and lake yo walk our dog. Our dog was offered a sausage at breakfast too so he was very happy

Arrived during heat wave on the hottest day of the year 38.1○C. Room excessively hot only 1 small desk fan and belive it or not, no mini fridge. After a 30 hour flight and very dehydrator this was a deal breaker. This was an issue as medication required refridgeration.

For saying this was supposed to be a 3 star hotel, the breakfast was better than most 4 stars we've stayed in. I had avocado and poached eggs on toast, with toasted seeds, which was delicious, and much better than the usual hot buffet breakfast. All the staff, from the moment we arrived until we left, were excellent. Very friendly, attentive and helpful. At breakfast, Alison was particularly lovely, and is a fantastic asset to the hotel! The rooms were beautifully decorated and had everything we needed. We all slept really well too. It was hot in the rooms, but we are in the middle of a heatwave, so was to be expected. There was a fan, which definitely helped. Despite being on the road, we weren't disturbed by the road noise. The hotel is on the edge of a lovely lake, with nice woodland walks. We walked to the ruins, but could've gone all the way round the lake, if we'd had more time. We were going to Thorpe Park and the drive was only 12 minutes from the hotel, so perfectly placed for that. Very nice beer garden at the hotel too. We would definitely stay there again and would highly recommend.

It's a perfect place for me to stay to have meetings across the road at Wentworth, and love eating out a Piccolino's directly opposite rooms are really nice at the hotel and would reccomend it fully.

It was extremely warm in the room and difficult to get airflow through with windows that didn’t seem to open very far - one wouldn’t stay open at all. The shower head seemed to deliver needles of water - not enough flow - and I couldn’t see how to change it. The plug in the sink didn’t hold the water at all.

The interior design of the room and the whole hotel was very tasteful and spotless clean. The staff were very nice and efficient. We had dinner and breakfast and the food was absolutely gorgeous. We also like the outdoor seating area.

A great location next to the lake and a good location for visiting Windsor and Ascot. We found all the staff to be friendly and helpful. Our room was spacious and spotlessly clean as was the bathroom. We had breakfasts and evening meals there and the food was good.

A lovely large room and comfortable bed. The food at the hotel is wonderful. The best food I have had so far during my visit to the UK. The breakfast was also wonderful. There is free car parking for guests.

I tried to contact the property but found it impossible with only chat box to contact, very irritating.

The rooms were immaculate and the food delicious. The staff were friendly and very helpful. Withing a 2 minute walk is a beautiful view of the lake.

Room was much to hot, and no way of cooling it down, no fan or portable air conditioner. It was 21 degrees at its coolest on Tuesday the 16th of June, I got no sleep. No bottled water in the room, which really suprised me and then with the heat it was quite annoying, i ended up going across the road to an all night garage to get some water

Location was perfect. Food was very very good. On the whole the property was very good.

The assistant manager and manager on the evening left a lot to be desired. I think the assistant manager was more than a little power crazy. Closed the bar at 22:20. No warning or information and when asked why he said a few things that didn’t make sense. I asked about the manager and he was in bed and wouldn’t answer the phone. Completely unprofessional.

A little road noise at front. Far too hot ( but it was an exceptionally hot period so not normal). There was a fan but it didn't help much. Window didn't stay open and it would have been too noisy in any event.

Our expectations were met in abundance. Our room was immaculately clean and we couldn’t fault it at all.

The room was spacious and had everything we needed. Staff were friendly and helpful especially Leica. The location of the hotel is near the Virgina Water entrance so great for dog walks - an excellent location and near to amenities too. This is a truly dog friendly hotel, which is lovely.

The toilet in our room kept on filling - the flush was not cutting off properly. This is probably an easy fix. Air conditioning in the room would be a great addition. The wifi was very unreliable an kept cutting off on all devices. The prompt screen did not always come up, making it difficult to reconnect

It’s a lovely place to stay and the rooms since being made over are excellent and the location is perfect for me

As a regular guest here I do think the breakfast has gone down hill a little bit the ingredients seem from budget range and the portion size of the cooked breakfast is definitely reduced

The location is excellent, the rooms are very nice and well-maintained, and the beds are comfortable.

There is a major issue with the heat: none of us managed to sleep because it was literally suffocatingly hot, even though all the radiators were turned off and it was 6°C outside. It wasn’t just our room, as our guests experienced the same problem in theirs. The food is not great. The breakfast is quite disappointing—I would recommend having it elsewhere. The property itself is beautiful, but they need to pay more attention to guests’ comfort, not just the aesthetics.
