Charming and authentic country Inn. Excellent food
A stunning hotel in a beautiful location and very conveniently located for a stopover on our journey from the South East to Scotland. Gorgeous decor throughout the bar, restaurant and rooms. Friendly and welcoming staff who were so kind and helpful. The rooms were to a very high standard and very comfortable. It was a great start to our holiday.
It was all lovely
What a brilliant place. From the location, staff, food, rooms, atmosphere, everything was just spot on. We stayed a couple of nights this week on a motorbike trip and apart from our trip home, I think they even ordered in the weather for us 😊 Every single member of staff were just incredible and really couldn't do enough for us. Jack, the resident dog, is just the coolest, most laid back boy and is more than happy to share his space with any other four legged pal that comes along. The food, well .... some of the best quality, tastiest food I've had. I normally don't order a steak outside of a steakhouse because it's never cooked right, but I went for it and ordered it rare. It was cooked perfectly and the flavour, wow 👌 We will definitely be back, thank you for a great stay 💕

Kings Head is an exceptional pub. The setting is beautiful. The rooms are very spacious and the beds are to die for. Staff are amazing and so attentive, special thanks to Alex and Charlotte for making us feel very welcome. Jack the dog 🩵
Loved it all
Beautiful location and such a pretty, charming and cosy pub. Lovely, friendly and helpful staff. Delicious food both breakfast and dinner. Rooms are clean and well equipped.
The host was so welcoming and cheery all the staff was wonderful the food was exceptional couldn't fault anything and I will definitely recommend and return
Beautiful setting
Noise from the bar when in your room
Great location
The food is always exeptional, and the staff are always a delight. A lovely location on the river. The rooms are very cosy and feel like they are giving you a hug.

A fabulous olde village inn set in a tranquil settle next to running stream. We were even lucky enough to see a couple of red squirrels when we arrived. The place has everything you need for a superb relaxing stay. Our room was dog friendly and still filled with every luxury needed and super comfy and spacious. The food was amazing and place was buzzing both nights of our stay so book ahead to avoid missing out. Thank you Jack and Team.
This is such a beautiful place to stay. A real hidden gem. The staff are so warm and welcoming, and the location is stunning. I could not recommend it highly enough. My family have stayed here about 10 times as we are located between Liverpool and Northumberland. The perfect stop off.

The Kings Head is a little gem of a place in a beautiful setting. The bar/ restaurant area is a very cosy inviting space and the bedrooms are all very comfortable and attractively furnished. The staff can't do enough for you and the food is delicious. We have been many times now as it is our overnight go to when we just need a night away.

Very comfortable room in a very dog-friendly pub, with attentive staff.
The dinner menu could offer some lighter options.
the atmosphere, staff, food and comfy bed - all really wonderful
wifi signal wasn’t great in the bedroom. Not a huge issue, just a bit frustrating
Great food, nice ambiance, fantastic location.
A little tired in places
One of the best dog friendly hotels I have stayed in , excellent staff , facilities and food no complaints at all .
Comfortable, clean and excellent staff

Not only was the Kings Head a beautiful spot with good food and a comfortable room, but the hospitality was outstanding! The staff were all SO kind! We were walking the Coast to Coast trail and the staff helped us with laundry and transportation needs. It was a complete joy to stay at the Kings Head for two nights.

Nothing all good
Lovely welcome, beautiful room with extremely comfy bed

The breakfast offered a wide selection and was very tasty. The village location of the inn amidst lovely counrtyside and set by a babbling burn.
The bass noise of music coming from the ground floor publc areas was constant and completly spoiled the otherwise peacefull ambience. The poor quality and value of the dinner.
Breakfast was excellent. Staff brilliant throughout.
The bedroom was far too hot. The weather was hot but no cooling at all available in the bedroom. I realise this issue is highly unusual in the UK but when there is good weather the bedrooms are uncomfortable.
Very nice place. Very classy. Everything is high quality.

Pretty pub with spacious rooms in a lovely location. High quality decor. Super friendly staff. Great food.
I was in room 4 which has a small arch recessed window. Unfortunately this means part of the window can’t be covered by a blind or curtains so the light came through from 4 am.
Lovely location and property with great food and lots of added extras
One male member of waiting staff inappropriate on first night (Saturday). Rest of staff were amazing.
Great food, good local beer. Fantastic breakfast. Lovely room and a beautiful location. Great staff and service.

Gorgeous inn…perfect, welcoming interior. Super friendly staff. Room was number 6 and we had absolutely no noise issues during our stay given it is a thriving pub and restaurant. Breakfast was a joy and sets you up brilliantly for the day. My husband had a problem with his bike that needed to dry out and they very kindly kept it in their boiler room. Thank you! Highly recommend and we will be back.
A very small thing. There were a lot of cushions and throws on the bed…so many you couldn’t really find your own belongings when you took them off to go to bed.
So friendly and welcoming and Dog friendly Food is delicious The Yorkshire Pudding should come with a warning -this is a serious main course - all makes for a very relaxing stay
Cannot fault anything
What a rare gem! A pub/hotel packed full of character and charm - a calm and comfortable oasis set in the beautiful Cumbrian countryside. The room was exceptionally clean, modern and equipped with everything one would need - even down to Epsom Salts for walkers’ to bathe their weary bones. En-suite was spotless with a powerful (and easy to operate!) shower. But what makes this little treasure so special is the unique and wonderful people that work there. I would say staff, but they’re more than that. You can sense it’s one, big, happy family. I must mention names. Hannah, a beautiful individual who couldn’t do enough for us - she’s an asset. Shaun, a cheeky chappy who entertained and served us a lovely, evening dinner. Kenny, the Landlord- possibly the jewel in the crown - who true to his policies supplied us with an evening dram - very nice touch. And not to forget Tracy who buzzes around the breakfast room to make sure everyone is well fed and content. She’s also an asset. Finally, I mustn’t forget Jack! He looks like a big, furry rug but he’s actually Kenny’s Bernese - I wish I could have taken him home. No faults just a huge recommendation.
Nothing. Couldn’t fault it.
Beautiful setting, lovely decor, thoughtful touches in the room. Staff were lovely. Amazing food.
The room was fa tastis with lots of lovely eztras and opulence.
The evening meal was a bit disappointing. For instance I ordered fish and chips and tbe batter, I was told, was gluten-free. Not to my taste. My husband had the stuffed Yorkshire Pudding which had far too many vegetables.

As this was my 8th visit I think that in itself says I like this place. It's extremely dog friendly, the place is spotless, the staff are great, the beer is great, the food is great, the breaky is very good.
I only really have one criticism and that is that the 'fresh' orange juice in the morning is pretty low grade.
Great location in an interesting village. Warm welcome from extremely friendly staff. Good pub food and very comfortable room.

Everything! That was a wonderful few days we spent there. The hotel was chosen based on reviews, not location. However both were excellent. The staff were all extremely friendly and helpful. The meals were excellent as was the service. Lots of interesting walks from the hotel. The bedroom and bathroom were very good too. If you imagine your perfect country inn, fresh cooked food, wonderful staff, comfortable environment. This is for you. We'll return
Excellent location very welcoming and v good food
All good
Pub with rooms. Really cosy, obviously popular with the locals so people to talk to over a drink. The rooms were fantastic. Lots of attention to detail.

The Kings Head is just one of 'our places'....not to far from home and yet you are 'away from it all'. Great place, great staff and the location itself is just so peaceful. We cannot praise the Kings Head more. The owner and team as a whole go above and beyond every time. Lovely people...lovely place. We cannot praise the Kings Head more.
Nothing at all....its all lovely...
The cosyness of the place and room and staff and owner was lovely. Food was excellent, good value for money. We loved it that much we've got another couple of bookings at the King's head over the next couple of months and this time we'll be taking family with us. We can't wait to return at Easter. And then again in May for my husbands 60th Birthday.
That due to work commitments we couldn't stay longer.
Friendly staff Comfy bed
Outstanding location and exceptional facilities. Staff are the best!

Not sure if anything could have been much better
The breakfast was excellent. The location was very good and friendly staff.
Comfier seating outside
I'm a regular guest here, whenever I visit the UK. Kenni,Fiona and ALL the staff make me feel so welcome, that it feels like a second home. The food and drink are excellent and reasonably priced. The rooms are comfortable and clean. Well done, this the best Inn that I have stayed in. The local customers are friendly as well. True Northern hospitality.
Exceptionally welcoming warm and comfortable on our very cold winter visit. The service was attentive and charming without being obsequious and the food, solid tasty fare without being overly complicated. A good range of options inc vegetarian. Nice to see locals present and enjoying the bar and pool table.
Not much. Slightly cool dining area at breakfast after the lovely warm fires of the night before, but I guess it made sense not to light the fires for breakfast given the low occupancy at our visit.
Ravenstonedale is a great location just off J38 of the M6 - 10 minute drive or so. The Kings Head itself is just brilliant. Kenni, Fiona and the team are just first class and will do all they can to make your visit or overnight stay special. There are so many lovely attention to detail touches that are so well thought through. Whether this be for two or four legged friends. Forgot your reading glasses or tooth brush...no problem. Fancy a round of golf at the course down the road...no problem...a set of clubs are there. Whilst we were there a gentlemen was not very well and he was dealt with in such a kind manner. In turn a four legged friend was not well and the easy option.....'here is the number of the vet'. No...! Not Kenni and Fiona...they accompanied their guests to their own Vet nearby. This is just the measure of these fine folk. Their care and attention at The Kings Head make it a very special place to visit. We have booked for the same 3 days next new year already. That will be our third time of doing so. The locals are friendly and welcoming. Good food, fine beers/drinks, lovely rooms with comfy beds and breakfast is amazing. Above all caring, hard working friendly owners and staff that make your visit extra special. Thank you all...! See you soon.
Absolutely nothing.
Breakfast was exceptional, cooked to order and very tasty. Staff very friendly, room was lovely and lots of little touches to show owners have thought about providing an excellent experience. Restaurant food very tasty and keenly priced. Overall really glad we found this gem of a place and hope to revisit in the near future.
Very well run friendly establishment
Nicely decorated good atmosphere comfy bed good breakfast
Room was really small
Accomodation and friendly staff, and pet friendly.
The lunch/dinner food was average, breakfast generous and good quality.
Staff are very friendly and welcoming. Both dinner and breakfast were excellent.

Warm friendly reception from a truly welcoming team! Atmosphere abounds , this coupled with great food and a wide selection of ales , wines and spirits makes this a very attractive place to visit whilst in the area!

Extremely homely and friendly atmosphere
Extremely friendly and helpful owner and staff. The complimentary drink at the bar was very welcome. Excellent food with a great breakfast. Really appreciated the fresh milk in the room. Beautiful old building in a stunning location.
This was my 6th stay here (3rd this year). Great dog friendly pub, great food, great beer, great hosts and great atmosphere.
I don't have any negative comments other than it could do with more comfy seating.
Just a homely and lovely place

The Kings Head epitomises exactly what we’re good at in the UK, the great British pub/restaurant with accommodation. It’s is one of the best examples of how a cosy country pub should look & feel with its beautiful collection of furniture & wall handing items along with its welcoming staff to add the final touch to a very quaint English pub.

Fantastic quiet location, within 10 minutes of Tebay services on the M6. Very friendly staff and great food.
Just a beautiful spot. Staff couldn't do enough.

Absolutely loved it. Great ambience. Rooms are spotless and quirky but very well decorated. The staff are very focused on providing a caring but non intrusive service but work hard to create a happy friendly atmosphere. The Pub itself has real character but balances high quality with personality and charm. The food and quality and variety of meal options is very good. You do not feel rushed and no matter how busy they are, the friendly service is exceptional. I cannot recommend a stay here highly enough. Thank you for making our stay so enjoyable.
Nothing. Its perfect.
Superb location, beautifully cared for and so much care and thought put into caring for visitors. Really comfy bed (a must for me) and we were made so welcome.

The staff were exceptional in looking after our every need with both a delicious dinner and breakfast. Very friendly and always with a smile Highly recommended
Friendly staff, great location and lovely accommodation.
Warm welcome, little "extras" added to the lovely bedroom & bathroom en suite, cosy/relaxing hotel atmosphere, real fire on in lounge/bar area, and great food! Staff couldn't do enough for you.

Lovely,”proper” Northern, dog friendly pub/ hotel. Staff were exceptional, friendly ,humorous and chatty. First class ambience and staff.
